I've given this location multiple chances and each time they've disappointed us. Our most recent visit went as follows: Arrived for dinner service after 6pm... 5 other parties in the restaurant. We were a a party of 4 adults, one of whom is 90yr old and has mobility challenges. I informed our hostess and asked for a round table near the front to accommodate his lack of hearing, vision, his need for a bathroom, and his mobility. We were seated at a round table in the back right of the restaurant. Upon sitting down, I noticed My bread plate had food on it. My mother's fork had food on it. Told the waitress who simply replaced our plate and fork with ones from a neighboring table, leaving the dirty dishes in its place. Two of the napkins at our table were paper trifold, the other two were bar napkins. Cloth napkins were placed at all the tables around us. When we asked our waitress why we didn't have cloth napkins, she told us it's because their order didn't deliver and refused to give us napkins, concluding that they weren't seating anyone at those tables. We questioned if we were supposed to use the bar napkin and she said yes. Once she walked away, I retrieved 3 sets of silverware from a neighboring table. The restaurant was not busy for a Saturday night-- we felt her attitude was absurd. Two orders of Focaccia arrived with 2 glasses of water, 1 Starry and 1 Dr. Pepper. After a few sips, I had to flag down our waitress to ask for ice water, as the Dr Pepper tasted like watered down caramel without carbonation. She acted as though it was an imposition to replace my soda with water. No appetizers ordered, but I ordered a fresh greens salad with my entree. The greens were drenched in vinaigrette. Every piece of lettuce was dripping wet, with a pool of liquid in the bottom of the bowl. Very unappetizing. Entrees ordered: 3 Shrimp Portofino, 1 order Spaghetti with meatballs and bolognese sauce. It took 45min for the food to arrive after ordering. All 3 Shrimp Portofinos lacked seasoning. The capellini didn't taste salted, and each dish was swimming in oil. Each of us remarked that our dish lacked flavor: garlic, salt, pepper, fresh herbs etc. The shrimp was bland. I found and counted 5 pine nuts in my dish, when the menu eluted to a dish filled with them. One person added a ton of table salt and pepper to their dish in order to eat it. My mother and myself ate the shrimp and pushed the capellini aside to see how much oil was in the dish. We ended up not eating it. Our server never came by to ask how are meals tasted or if anything was wrong. After she delivered the bill and asked us to buy dessert, we then began telling her how disappointing this meal was and had she checked on us, we would have told her and perhaps we could have had our order remade or placed a different entree. Our server acted as though it was her last shift and she didn't care. She asked if we wanted a manager and we said No, that we were just being honest with her about our experience. I came to Macaroni Grill for a dose of nostalgia, but it wasn't quite as enjoyable as I had hoped... The staff were friendly enough, but a little slow on the service, despite a pretty light crowd that night. The general vibe was also a bit sad. The menus were LITERALLY held together with scotch tape, and things generally just felt a bit unkempt. The food had bright spots, though. The appetizer was fantastic. And my wife's dish was nice. Unfortunately though, the food had it's problems too. I wasn't able to make it out of the restaurant before having to rush to the bathroom. As much as I hate to say it, I don't think I can really recommend eating here. read more

I created my own dinner. Was pesto with fettuccine. It was so bland and I have never had that much oil in my pesto at any restaurant ! My friend I went for his bday had balsamic vinegar on his salad and he was shocked how rancid it tasted. The only good thing this time was great parking on early Friday. I have been here many times but not for about 3 years. Not sure if the chef was having a bad day or what, but we were both disappointed and most likely won't go back. Bummer -J read more

We visited on a Saturday evening and found the dining room surprisingly quiet compared to how busy it used to be. The kitchen unfortunately missed the mark with a long wait time and uneven food execution--the bread, pork chops, and lasagna were all overly salty or dry. However, the fantastic mushroom risotto and our bartender, Lauren M., completely salvaged the night. We stopped by here for dinner on a Sunday night, and Macaroni Grill was basically empty. I wanted to check if they were even open for dinner, but then I saw one table filled with 2 customers. I was surprised at how empty and quiet it was. Anyway, we got seated right away. Looking at the menu, I ordered Chicken Marsala. We had to wait about 10 minutes for our food. The chicken marsala was hard to eat, because the chicken was really tough. It was lacking the marsala flavor. I've had better at other Italian restaurants. When I requested bread, the male server mentioned "We are out of bread". I was surprised to hear this. If customers wanted to order bruschetta, they couldn't because there was no bread. Service here is extremely slow. It did take a bit to get our bill. Overall, I won't recommend Macaroni grill. Customers are better off dining elsewhere. read more

I visited Macaroni Grill after many years. This place has nice ambiance and welcoming vibe. Complimentary Rosemary bread was warm and delicious. We loved bruschetta too. White peach sangria is amazing ! Side Caesar salad and tomato soup was very salty. I will skip it next time. Fried calamari was good but for some reason it was not hot enough when it reached out table. May be matter of Sunday and slow service. It was Sunday eve so restaurant was less crowded. But seem even kitchen had less things. They missed few things. some of the vegetarian people wanted more veggies in build your own pasta. When we ordered server did not say anything but order came with no spinach etc. May be it's servers fault as they should have let people know about kitchen status. I ordered Shrimp pasta which was really buttery ,and so obviously everyone loved it , it was delicious !! I like this place , took away couple of stars because of above issues. Came on Tuesday evening. The resturant has a nice ambience, great service, and food! Since it was a weekday, the food came out fast! I overall enjoyed my meal because it was hot, cooked well, and is delicious! All of the dishes were so flavorful and were the perfect portions! The pasta itself was cooked perfectly! One of the pasta had arrabbiata sauce if I recall. It might be a bit spicy if you can't handle it. The shrimp scampi is less spicy and flavorful to eat with shrimp! Overall, I would definitely order them again! As for the appetizers, the brussels sprouts were okay but I did like the truffle mac and cheese more. I also wanted to give a shoutout to our server Cameron. He was so attentive, friendly, and was overall a great server! I hope I can come back again! read more

I can't believe I'm giving a star. We had a very sad visit on New Year's Day. We came at 2p. I believe they opened at 11a but when we came it seemed like they just opened. There were a few tables with customers already and wait staff looked like they were missing people. We came in and had to wait for the employee to clean a table when clearly there were so many other open tables but I guess we have to sit a specific tables which seemed unnecessary. We were standing for a while, a long while. When we finally sat, I noticed it seemed like there was only one waiter taking all the orders. He carries a device to order the food. He mentioned a few specials and brought us waters. I felt a bit odd that he gave straws to all the kids and only me because he specifically said and for you. I didn't use it but my mom did. It was so cold it the restaurant and I noticed the door wide open and to ask for anything seemed like they would take forever so I just closed the door myself. After a while it became comfortable and warm after I closed the door. Food was ok, I asked for medium for my steak but it looked medium rare. The mashed potatoes were really watery. The soup was ok and it was unlimited and on my third bowl it was hot which was more delicious so the first two were served warm to me. We remember back in the days we could draw on the table and they did give the kids menu that has activities but nothing to draw or write with. Luckily, us moms had pens in our purse for them to use. I found it odd that the lobster bisque we had were exactly the same when my mom only ordered the soup and mine was an add on. So I definitely suggest getting an entree and add the $5 unlimited soup because the $10 soup alone was the exact same size as the add on but it wasn't unlimited. The waiter didn't even mention that the kids orders came with a drink and we had to point it out just to get it and the kids also get a dessert which when we said again took awhile to get to us. The waiter was already asking if we needed boxes but were not even done yet because the kids meal wasn't complete. The complimentary bread supposedly has butter that we had to ask for and a dip that is presented in the middle of the restaurant but they are the ones to bring it to you. We had to ask and ask. I'm just very disappointed that they didn't seem prepared for the new year. If staff called out I think 4 hours is enough time to find a replacement. When we left I only seen one more employee show up. I'm usually understanding especially during the pandemic it's understandable to wait a bit but I did a lot of waiting and asking and pointing out what a waiter should already know. Definitely won't be revisiting and I can't believe he said please come again sooner than later. I guess if you do plan to visit this location make sure you get what you order because if you don't ask they won't give it to you. Watch out for deceptive pricing practices on menus , Went in for lunch and the menu said all you can eat soup and salad for $9 bucks. It should read AYCE soup OR salad $9 bucks. And only certain salads or soups. Asked waiter and he pointed it out that menu was incorrect. So buyer beware. read more

A friend took me here to have a lunch. The restaurant was not crowded, thus it looked more spacious. The layout and atmosphere were really tailored toward business people. We had the stuffed mushrooms as the appetizer. My special was Parmesan Cole and my friend ordered the Ribeye Steak. The accompanying Cesar Salad were $2 extra. I must say the portions of everything were very good. Though the stuffed mushrooms used goat cheese, they were tasty nonetheless. I liked the fish, but the breading could be thinner. This is a shell of its former self. Saturday night, and it's half empty, parking lot empty, the temperature inside is freezing cold and guests are wearing their parkas. The dirty table next to ours remained that way throughout our dinner. Marcella was sweet and did her job tending to us while also juggling a huge party adjacent. My son and I had Mom's Ricotta Spaghetti and Meatballs. I typically don't order this but I given the low reviews, I feared getting ambitious. It had a large portion of meatballs. The restaurant was close to the hotel. Looking around the area, it places the restaurant at an advantage as I noticed that there's a lot more Asian restaurants around in the vicinity. This location was large. Upon entry, you easily notice the restaurant lined with bottles of wine. The kitchen is off to the right so you get a whiff of the entrees, etc. being prepared at fast pace. It was pretty quiet for a Thursday evening. Our server made her way to our table with the house bread and oil & balsamic vinegar accompaniment. We ordered the Pasta Milano and the serving was huge. We meet pretty much once a month at Macaroni Grill for book club, which has been great and convenient. Every once in a while, my family would choose to celebrate events and holidays here too. It has become our "go to" place as there is always availability and we can pretty much hang out and have good conversation. The food is good and quickly prepared. My favorite has been the mushroom risotto, the peasant bread, and of course the dessert. For a the most part, the service has been great and the servers are all very nice and always happy to provide recommendations. read more

Table Service available in the bar or dining area. The service is nice and friendly. Not sure if they still sing, because it's been a while since I dined in. I've gotten mostly takeout since the pandemic. Lasagne Bolognese: Bolognese sauce, italian sausage, ricotta, mozzarella, imported pomodorina (4/5). Portion size was good, but a bit pricey. Had a chance to try Macaroni grill. This place is located in Milpitas and is a nice place for American food and different types of pastas. My hubby and I really enjoy the pasta life so of course we had to go with that. We ended up getting an appetizer combo which came with the Mac and cheese balls as well as the fried brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were delicious! For the pastas we tried: Pasta Milano (this was my favorite and absolutely really enjoyed every bite) and the Penne Rustica (this one was closer to Alfredo pasta but wasn't as much my favorite). They also packed us some of their fresh bread which also came with balsamic and olive oil. Overall the food was nice. we went for my son's birthday and they set up our table exactly where I wanted. Our waitress Abigail was great. We had a large party and all of our food was excellent. Our appetizers were great. we had the bruschetta stuffed mushrooms and mozzarella sticks. Everything was excellent, but the mushrooms were a little smaller than last time we had them. My only complaint was that they had no table buses. It's a pet peeve of mine that I hate sitting and talking with family with dirty dishes all over the place. As soon as I walked in I was greeted, which makes a world of a difference to me. I was sat at my table and greeted again by my waitress. Lauren was very kind, great smile and outstanding customer service. The food choices that she recommended definitely shows she knows her stuff. The food came to the table hot and delicious, my drink was extremely tasty. The atmosphere is still very family oriented which I love. It's over 5 years since I dine at a Macaroni Grill, only because it's the place that my sister, nephew and I would eat together. I couldn't bring myself to eat here after she passed from cancer. I ordered catering from macaroni grill for my event. Huge shout out to Lance from corporate on helping me with the catering order & the staff at this location for getting everything cooked and packed up so nicely. I was amazed by how well thought through the catering order was. Cutlery, tongs & serving spoons were all included with the order. The food arrived on time and was still nice and hot. Probably one of the better chain caterers we have used for events. Thank you for supplying my event with such yummy food and exceptional level of service!!! Their Cerritos, Corona or Temecula locations are not picking up or returning the calls but they are listed on their corporate website. When I personally went to the Cerritos location, it does not even exist. Irvine location is showing up on Google but they don't pick up calls either. What a disappointment this place has become. Came in there wasn't anyone standing at the hostess desk. We waited for a good 10 minutes and was about ready to go to Olive Garden. When the hostess appeared who has reddish hair, she gave off an appearance of not want to be there and took us to a table. Once we were seated, waiter asked about appetizers which we politely declined but was then asked a few more times if we wanted an appetizer. We eventually asked for an ordered bread. I ended up getting my own oil and balsamic. The bread unfortunately came out dry. no oil or balsamic vinegar was offered. We ordered our entrées of pasta. No offers of cheese to put on the pasta. Note that Broccolini was actually just regular broccoli and was tough to eat. Ended up ordering a glass of Wine had bit of cork in the wine when it was presented in the glass which was promptly fished out. Will speak to a manager on top of posting this review. read more

We had reservations for a group of 8. We arrived and the restaurant was practically empty. We were seated and then we waited and waited and waited. Finally the waitress came and took our drink orders and appetizers. By then the restaurant was filling up and our food never came. The waitress completely forgot about us. To the point that appetizers were forgotten and some food was cold. The excuse was they were understaffed. Bread was never brought to the table, drinks were not refilled. Excellent service and food at Macaroni Grill!! After seeing the reviews, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect -- but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and friendly service. Our server Ferit was very friendly and efficient, always answering our requests with a smile and quickly meeting our needs (and hungry stomachs!!). While the restaurant was a bit empty when we came in, it quickly filled up and I was happy to see other happy patrons around us.
