Great Pizza! My favorite in St Augustine great flavor and loaded with toppings friendly service

It's not because I'm Celiac and have to eat Gluten Free or that my father-in-law and husband wanted a quick bite of delicious pizza that prompted us to come here. It was because they were only 3 minutes away! I enjoyed coming to Romano's, a pizza establishment on the island that reminded me of my short stint in NYC. The pizza by the slice and impeccable service made me think of those dollar slices I would consume on most weekdays when I was living in Queens. I enjoyed my simple, but delicious Gluten Fred pizza and my husband was floored when he took his first bite of the BBQ pizza. I'm happy that they really take the time to care for those who have gluten intolerances and this will be on my "places locals know about list" when I'm vacationing here! read more

First experience with Romano's on the Beach and I was a bit let down. Just incredibly average. Ordered the thin crust pizza, boneless wings, garlic knots and Cannoli. The pizza was all over the place and greatly cooled down. Everything else wasn't anything special. The prices aren't too bad and the delivery driver was very friendly and right on time. Going to have to dine in one of these days. That must be the trick. read more

Pizza never tasted so good! Tonight my family, social distancing and very much craving a good pizza, ordered a pepperoni pizza and an antipasto salad from Romano's on the Beach. We were not disappointed! The pizza was perfect-fresh, not, and flavorful. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. We ordered the small salad. It's a good thing we did. It was more like a large, plenty for the four of us, and full of ingredients. Delivery was quick and friendly. We love Romano's! read more

Their selection, the service, and the prices for the food were all perfect wasnt overpriced at all even the appetizers were good the garlic knots were almost the size of my hand and the xtra Large pizzas are well priced and have a amazing taste I recommend this place highly if you ever in the area looking for a good pizza place this is the one to go to. read more

We were in St. Augustine and we had Romano's twice: once to eat in and again as delivery. Each time it was excellent. The restaurant is clean and our delivery was prompt and the food was fresh. The pizza is delicious, their crust is my absolute favorite. Definitely get the garlic knots: they're probably the best I've ever had. They have a great lunch special if you can make it for lunch. I will be on the hunt for something as good as Romano's here in my state! read more

Delicious in house made dough and sauce. Creative specialty pizzas. Fresh and crisp salads with tasty dressings. We also tried the kids spaghetti and meatballs, amazing, big kids sized portions but grown up flavors! We also sampled the antipasto salad, upscale ingredients, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts and rolled up Italian meats and cheeses. They were making garlic knots when we were leaning so we are coming back before we leave town to sample those! Ohh we also sampled a couple desserts, Italian cookies and cannoli. My family wanted Italian food and we found Romano's close by. Decided to try it. Was not impressed. Ordered angel hair w/ meatballs, didn't have much flavor at all, bland tasting. No cheese or seasoning of any kind. My husband ordered the Eggplant Parma and it wasn't very good. No flavor. Wish I could give a better rating but due to lack of flavor I give this a 3 star. Our Daughters Family was visiting and we were in St Augustine. We all decided pizza for lunch. I looked on yelp and I found Romano's it stated it was a 4 star restaurant. This place is amazing! The pizza was better than any thin crust pizza I think I have ever had. The toppings, the crispy crust, was amazing. Between the 9 of us we had the cheese pizza, supreme, meat lovers pizzas ... you will be amazed the way this pizza taste. Small air conditioned seating area, and the waitress was wonderful. After receiving horrible customer service at 5 star we ordered for romanos and I am glad we did. We ordered 4 extra large pizzas for 9 people to eat. After everyone ate their fill we still had 2 full pizzas left over. They were so big and tasty. The only knock would be that the crust wasn't really crispy but we didn't order it that way. read more

Great personalized service & very good value. Pizza was very tasty & with fresh ingredients as was the Antipasto salad. The 12" pizza & small salad were more than adequate for 2 adults to share. Even provided free homemade cookies upon departure! My daughter especially like the cheese pizza & she can be a bit particular. read more

Fantastic pies, sides and desserts. We bought two large pizzas, one with sausage and eggplant parmesan and the other with chicken bacon ranch and usually one would expect something machined and processed but their toppings are freshly made. The house salad and the antipasto salad were made fresh and very well made. They have numerous selections for desserts which I had to add on when I got to the counter. This restaurant does not care about keeping their patrons safe. As I walked in the person making the salads was not wearing a mask. I asked the person that was there to help if the cooks and back staff were wearing masks. She told me "no" and what seemed to be a manger response was "the ovens are 700 degrees . My response was "and there is a pandemic" .. I asked for my money back after the lady behind the counter pulled down her mask and said, "we are not required to where a mask and I can take my off like this". This is absolutely not okay. There are so many restaurants and other service industries doing all they can to keep people safe and this pizza place clearly does not care. Why would you support a business like this during a time like this? Stay away as there are so many other fabulous restaurants, doing their part, in St Augustine. read more

We were looking for a good, local pizza place and we found a great one. We ordered two pizzas and a salad. Both were great. Dough is not too much and plenty of toppings. Definitely recommend, and will eat here again next time we are at the beach. read more

I love this place so much! My husband is a pizza snob and he loves it too. We get delivery from Romanos at least once a week. I feel like we're on a personal level with the delivery driver now... The sandwiches are authentic, the pasta dishes I have tried are all really good and the pizza has a lot of flavor without being greasy. I came to this place because I read reviews about them having a good gluten free pizza. My girlfriend has celiacs and it is hard to find a good gluten free crust. I ordered one gluten free and one normal crust and both were below average. There wasn't much flavor to either of them and the normal crust was a little soggy and overall just mediocre. The gluten free crust was unique in that it wasn't thin like most gluten free crusts so that was one good thing. The cheese and sausage was very bland and left a heavy feeling in our stomachs. The sauce, however, was tasty but there wasn't enough to compensate for the other ingredients. The reason I am leaving 2 stars is because of a below average pie and the fact that we are both feeling sick to our stomachs after. Maybe it was just a bad night but I will not be ordering here again. Overall, I am rating it a 3/10. read more

I was a regular here the pizza was amazing. However in the couple of months this place has gone down hill. The pizzas that I got today were the WORST pizzas I have ever tasted. I literally threw them away, they were that bad. Burned, no sauce, about 10 pieces of pepperoni on a large pie, mushrooms on only 4 slices of the pie. I dont know if they are under new ownership or what but this great pizza place is now awful. read more

Everything they make is excellent. We get the pizza on a regular basis, but also love the hot sandwiches like chicken parm. On Valentine's Day we did take out. I don't know how they make a profit. The portions are huge. I was eating mine for two days and there was more left. And the cannoli for dessert was heaven. Had to eat that the next day too. This delivery pizza was delicious. We're from out of town and this pizza really hit the spot. We got pepperoni and pineapple pizza with some garlic knot bread. We get take-out from here frequently; it's our go-to pizza place in St. Augustine. The pies are quite tasty: their dough has the right amount of chewiness; proportions of dough/ sauce/ cheese/ toppings are good, and the toppings seem to be pretty high quality. The subs are large and appropriately messy. We don't have so much experience with other menu items, but we've had the vodka chicken pasta a couple of times and thought the sauce was really good. I'm not too tempted to eat in: the overall ambiance is formica tabletops and paper placemats, plus there's a lot of traffic from take-out customers. Still, the staff are friendly and seem to be pretty conscientious with their service. They have lots of coupons in local magazines and handouts; if you're visiting, check out your hotel lobby. read more

We were looking for a good pizza and saw this one on Yelp. It was tucked away in the corner of a small strip mall next to a few other restaurants. By far this one was the busiest. As soon as we walked in we knew we had made the right choice. Nothing real fancy but was this place rock'n. We grabbed the last open table and had to weave our way through the people in the take out line. The service was great from start to finish as was our pizza.
