Romano's is a very small but great Italian Restaurant. We love their pizzas and calzones. We have also had the mozzarella sticks and the garlic knots. They have also been great. The staff is always very friendly and responsive. We had gotten carry out as well as eaten in the restaurant. Although the food is good either way, I prefer to eat in the restaurant. read more

Definitely stop in and treat yourself to some great food! While wintering in St. Augustine my in-laws found this little gem nestled in the corner of an unassuming strip complex. I can guarantee it will be a staple for years to come! The wife and in-laws shared a supreme pizza pie and I ordered the cheesesteak sub. Both were delicious but the pizza was Huge, and the sub was so overstuffed that I felt like I had an entire extra meal after I'd finished the sub(not a negative result ) we had the pleasure of being served by Joe.. and as a fellow Michigander we had a great conversation including, but not limited to, how the lions almost made it to the '24 superbowl (there's always next year) but with all that being said, please give this place a shot if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed! This is a quaint little pizza joint. Seems geared for take-out, but the staff are actually really nice and helpful. They have some good specials, like an appetizer and two entrees for 22.22 (only certain apps and entrees), two for one wine for happy on Wednesday, and $1 off on alcohol Monday-Thursday 3-6. Their dough is very good. I recommend ordering things that involve their homemade dough -- so pizza obviously, but also dinner rolls, sammies, etc. Emily served us and was really helpful and nice. We let her know we hadn't been here before so she helped us see the highlights of the menu. If you're hot and tired from the beach or alligator farm, stop by here for a bite! read more

Ordered takeout based on the decent reviews and wish I had not. Ordered a Stromboli and got cheesy bread. Ok to my mistake I ordered a "Stromboli with no onions" and got an ok, I should have read the menus fine print that it was cheese only. I know of no other place that o yo has a cheese o yo add it own topping Stromboli. Next was the baked ziti aka Noodles with sauce. White pizza aka cardboard. This place is takeout only so your mileage may vary but we won't be headed back. read more

Sooo expensive for bad quality food :( We were really excited to try this place. Reviews looked great. Ordered take out. It was done quickly and the staff was nice enough. When we got home with the food, it was horrid. The Caprese salad was one slice of rubbery, plastic-y looking "mozzarella," and a slice of tomato with a little basil for $9. It was awful we couldn't even eat it. Baked ziti had no flavour at all. Penne all a Vodka Chicken really wasn't good either and the chicken was quite chewy and gross looking. Really upset because it's soo hard to find good Italian food... this was our last cheat meal before vacation diet and we were let down. Romanos is a hidden gem. They have a large selection of pizzas. We ordered a pizza and loved the crispy crust. Our pizza was excellent and full of toppings and cheese. Our food server was polite and attentive and we got our pizza quickly. Romanos is a full menu Italian restaurant. Delicious!! We ordered takeout 2 pizzas and boneless wings - plain cheese was great with a really good crust, wings were yummy with just the right spice and the speciality "bacon chicken melt" was excellent - nice to have a new innovative flavor! It was loads of chicken, bacon and mushrooms then covered with this melty cheesy goodness! Great find at the beach!! Oh and best part it was still hot when we got it home! read more

Nice mom and pop pizza joint. The servings at this place are HUGE. The service and the food are excellent. The noise level is a bit high, especially for those who wear a hearing aid. I had to request they turn the music down a bit. Not a big deal. The calzone, and subs are awesome. We got the buffalo chicken sandwich which is 22 inches long. We split it thank gosh. The calzone was the size of Texas. Our 18 year boy couldn't finish it and he's an eater. We also got the baked ziti, thin pizza. All excellent. Nice little place. My NYC-based, arrogant AF, but always right, pizza snob case. Pizza is flavorless, doughy, greasy. I think they pile on the cheese to cover up for the fact that it's often undercooked. Only done takeout (not my choice, ever) and wouldn't even think to eat in, the place is so dingy and uninviting. And for some reason, every time I've been in there it was nearly empty, yet it always takes them forever to make the pies. 45 minutes or more? If it was to-die for pizza maybe I'd understand. We ordered sandwiches to go - one chicken and one meatball. In hindsight, I'd ask for extra sauce on the meatball as it was flavorful, but a little dry for my liking. Very well done. A great pizza/takeout option for St. Aug Beach area. I hate soggy pizza with soggy cheap cheese and their standard pie was chewy and crisp and a pretty decent thickness. They use very good cheese on top: stringy and chewy whole milk mozzarella. They even make there own fresh mozzarella if you want that. Sauce is more like authentic Italian sauce, not American pizza sauce: more like a pinkish tomato broth, not heavy on the dried herbs. The only thing I would improve is more fresh garlic taste/aroma in the sauce (ESP bc my specialty pizza had garlic as an ingredient .... but I could not taste or smell any.). The Calzones and Italian pastry looked good. The Small salad was gigantic and fresh: mine actually had too much topping (fresh Gorgonzola, pecans, cranberries: I had to dig around to find the lettuce; and the tomatoes were actually ripe and sweet, unlike most salads.) you can tell they take pride in their food. Not somewhere I would dine in (too much foot traffic near tables), but Romanos is my new go-to take out place. They also have soup, hot subs (shrimp parmagiana, sausage and broccoli rabe, and the usual suspects), dinners, and an innovative mix of specialty pizza (including a whole wheat option, a Sicilian option, and I think a new gluten free option). read more

By far some of the best Italian food we have EVER had!! My husband loves thin crust pizza and he ordered the razor thin pizza. It was fantastic; I even liked it and I hate thin crust. My daughters had eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti and a stromboli. The eggplant was thinly sliced and cooked perfectly. The spaghetti and sauce was fantastic. The stromboli was enormous and my daughter loved it. I had an equally enormous calzone. Absolutely delicious! The marinara sauce had to have been made at the restaurant and it was simply perfection!! We also ordered appetizers; garlic knots (best dough I've ever tasted) and mozzarella sticks (yummy!!!). We all took food back to the condo. If we ever happen to make it back to St. Augustine, we will definitely be back!!! read more

So disappointing. Ordered subs for delivery with typed instructions on the subs. They ignored it all. My sub had onions which I hate and typed NO ONION, but also no mayo or lettuce which I specifically asked for. Wilted tomato. All totally gross. My kids subs were missing their toppings. The pizza was probably the worst we've had, doughy crust, the supreme had a sparse amount of toppings combined with low-level sausage and pepperoni on a sauce that obviously came out of a can. We order the mussels that were supposed to be in white wine cream sauce. Turned out to be the white sauce for pizza's, again out of a can. Great pizza and even better people. You must turn to Romanos for your pizza needs while at Anastasia Island or the area. Amazing selection of top notch toppings on New York style crust that beg to be folded and devoured. Pizza Margarita was outstanding best is St. Augustine area. They deliver fast efficient and when they actually forgot part of our order they ran and got it and were back in no time. They got back fast even though it was Memorial Day weekend and every place was swamped and traffic heavy; honestly I dont know how they got back here so soon with the minor part of our order. My kids said the chocolate cake they added in (gratis) was the best they ever had. I had to take their word for it, LOL. What a great vacation pizza night. read more

Probably one of the best pizza places I've been in Florida! I absolutely LOVE this place. Their pizza and their garlic knots are EXCELLENT. Their prices are reasonable too! I am just sad that I didn't get to go twice or more during my last stay in St. Augustine. I could've honestly had pizza and garlic knots for a week twice a day without an issue haha ! If you're ever in that Anastasia island area or St Augustine, stop by and try their freshly made pizza and garlic knots. I'm drooling a little just writing this review and thinking about their great food. I seriously can't wait to visit again. This time I won't waste my time trying other places in the area, because they just don't compare. My last visit, I totally inhaled the pizza and garlic knots before even thinking about taking a picture. Yum! We stopped here because of the Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. It is a small restaurant tucked in the corner of a strip mall type area. It is worth the effort to find it. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by an employee with a smile and a hello. We ordered beers which came in a bottle along with a frosty glass. We ordered the garlic knots which were soooo good. I thought they would be small but they are about the size of a muffin and so buttery, garlicky and delicious. They come with a marinara sauce. We then had Grandma's pizza with pepperoni added. Oh my goodness! Every bite was a treat. The flavors are fresh and a nice combination of garlic, basil, mozzarella and sauce. We brought about half of our garlic knots and pizza home and can't wait to have them tomorrow. read more
