Another craftsman business has disappeared. I was looking for a shoe repair shop after reading the Yelp reviews and drove by. It looks deserted and a "For Rent " on the door. I guess that with more people wearing running shoes, slides and not wearing "office" clothes & shoes , the demand for repair of quality long lasting leather shoes will fad into sunset. I guess "quality " does lead to obsolescence as the generations pass. It seems we tend to settle for the quick and easy for the sake of commerce and convenience. I'm glad for the experience of quality in the past but it's difficult to accept the mediocre that has been cropping up. I prefer to buy quality and take care of it. Which means that I will repair over replace items like shoes, boots, and handbags. I have used others in the past some good and some bad. Roman's is consistently great and has become my go to show repair. Their prices are so reasonable and the work is well done. Most recently I was with my daughter and the plastic heal on her shoes cracked and broke these are very comfortable shoes that she planned on wearing to on her vacation. This was on a Friday before a was booked for flight leaving at leaving 6:30 am on Tuesday. I took the shoes in and asked if was possible to get them on Monday. They said yes. I see the mixed reviews about this place. I've taken a number of pairs of shoes in a pinch (mostly heel replacements). The owner would take of it while I waited. Very reasonably priced so I always tip. Nice older couple and experienced. She is very very honest about what she can and can't do, and that's ok with me when she says I have to contact the manufacturer in certain instances. Great work overall! read more

I was at this shoe repair for help with my suede boots. A lady approached me and look at the boots and say there is no way for repairs and it will look ugly. At least she is honest that they don't know how to fix it. I did go elsewhere and my boots are now as good as new. read more

A photo is worth a thousand words!! Check out my photos for before and after photos of some heels I had replaced. So over the course of a few years, I've either had my lovely dog chew the heel portion of my shoe, or I've just worn down the plastic cap of the heel. So I basically had about 4 shoes I couldn't wear anymore. I thought to fix it rather than buying new -- it's more sustainable & giving small repair shops business, plus I didn't want to throw away perfectly good shoes otherwise!! I found this place on yelp, of course! I stopped by on my Saturday afternoon (with my Korean husband, of course...) That helped, as he just spoke for me, so I don't know how well she can speak English. It is a Korean lady and I believe with her husband who run a shoe repair and key copying place? Kind of a strange mix, but I can't complain. She took a look at my shoes and told me to stop leaving them in my car (LOL, so true...), but it's ruining the material. Most of my shoes needed the heel part replaced (the metal was coming out). She said shoe companies use very cheap plastic caps, so that's why it's so easy for me to wear them out. She said her caps are sturdier, so I shouldn't need replacing all the time. There were a few shoes that the color was coming off, and she said she can replace that. And there were my giraffe print-shoes where my lovely puppy was chewing, so she said she can repair that and also put the coloring back. On top of that, some shoes that needed the heel also were scuffed up, so she said she can buff it out. I left 4 shoes with her, and she said with the repairs, adding on the heel, the coloring, and general clean, I ended up paying $49 total and she gave me a receipt for pick up. Take a look at the photos! She did a great job! She said I can pick them up on Tuesday (dropped off on Saturday). If I need any heels fixed again, I am coming back!! read more

Do not come here! I have tried to give this place business twice and twice they've turned me down. They can't fix anything even the simplest of requests they cannot do it. Horrible customer service. Desperately needed to get my heels replaced since the metal part started to come out! I yelped a place and saw this place. It's a small plaza and silly me didn't even bring an extra pair of shoes just in case it takes a day or two! But the lady gave me a pair of slippers to wear meanwhile she took a look at my heels. She was able to repair it right at the spot and I waited no more than 10 minutes! It cost $9 to fix it and voila! was done! I was so happy with my result that I even tipped her. She's a very nice Korean lady, she explained to me how all the shoes we buy are not meant to last long because they make it with plastic. Definitely will bring all my shoes/heels to her :) read more

They don't post that they only take cash. I noticed that the place is pretty old and didn't see any signs of being able to take credit/debit cards. So I asked. She told me cash only. I told her I didn't have cash - I only had credit cards. She nodded and continued to hammer on my shoes. So I again told her I did not have cash. She says cash only. So I asked for my shoes back. By then she had pulled the taps out of both heels and had broken the tap in the process. So I couldn't put it back on.
