Once again another great experience at Ronis Pub. This place has the best food and drink prices. But most importantly the customer service Is the best I've seen at a bar. Ally the bartender is so good at her job and is quick with drinks and get your food order.The food at this place is always so good and the specials they have every day are mind blowing. I can say this its a MUST go check it out for yourself. You will not be disappointed. My hats off to all the staff and bartenders especially Allie the bartender. You make this bar what it is my favorite place to go when in the area. Also my fellow yelpers remember to tip well. The food here is incredible. I would give it a 5! Their specials are very reasonably priced. Buy one get one free burgers on Monday's and $1.25 tacos on Tuesday's. I could go on. They have free range chicken and get as much locally sourced as possible. Very 'fresh' bar food. The service and the interior get a 3. Used a GroupOn, which apparently couldn't be applied to specials or alcohol. Fortunately it wasn't an issue but I wish that had been spelled out on the GroupOn. Went on a Saturday at noon. Not many people there but the food, two burgers, still took longer than I would have expected. But good company and a cold $7 pitcher of beer made the time pass enjoyably. Food: The burgers were good. Not huge but cooked properly and good flavor. It came out nice and hot. The Fire On The Mountain had a good kick but wasn't as spicy as I would have liked... but spiciness is relative. Good quantity of fries and tots. Service: The bartender/waitress did a great job of making us comfortable and checking in on us without being overbearing. The bartenders were too involved with the beer distributor tasting stuff to pay attention to customers. a man sat down next to us at the bar while we were waiting forever for our to go order and not one person even came up to him to see what he needed. He finally left. ...Food was ok but why cant you get an order right. Ordered two tenderloins, one with mustard and horseradish and one with mayo and horseradish. I have been to Roni's a handful of times over the last two years and it's exceeded expectations for a neighborhood bar & grill every single time. My wife claims their BLT is better than any other BLT she's had and I've had various burgers, sandwiches, and wings, and they've all been cooked/prepared to perfection. Walked in and picked a booth per the please seat yourself sign at the door. There was one other table with 3 people in the part of the room where we were. They had been served their drinks and were waiting on their food (I guess). Their bar is on the upper area. Their were 2 bartenders taking care of the 5 people seated at the bar. There were also 4 booths in the bar area. 1 was empty, 1 had a lady waiting for her to go order and the other two booths had people eating lunch. The two bartenders seemed to be enjoying visiting with their customers, one went over to the outside of the bar to watch something on a phone. I could also go into more about the clothing worn by some of the other customers (purple Kansas state wildcats) and drinks ordered (Pepsi or coke) to further illustrate how much time we had to look around, but I don't want to belabor the point. The reason I'm able to offer such detail is my friend and I had plenty of time to take in the activity of the room. We didn't have anything else to distract us- like a menu to look over or glass of water to drink. The staff saw us, but no one acknowledged our presence at any time in any manner except as we were walking out the door. One of the bartender called out 'thank you' as we left, apparently oblivious to the reality of our being ignored for 15 minuets. We had a groupon we go use but with so many red flags observed, why wait around for crappy food or more crappy service? read more

Its really hard to rate this one even a 1 star but I dont have option for no stars. Went here on a Saturday afternoon about 130 with a groupon in hand ready to give this place a try. We seated ourself as the sign said to as we walked in. We sat there for 15 to 20 minutes without anybody even coming over with water or menus. After we decided to leave and just forget about the groupon we decided to go to lunch somewhere else. We did finally get a thank you as we were walking out the door i guess they knew they were getting the value of the groupon for nothing. I do not suggest this place as the service doesnt even exsist. I have been to Roni's a million times now and I have always had a great time! The food is absolutely delicious, we have had the caprese, salmon, burgers, fries, and even porkchop! All awesome. The drinks are cheap and the staff is really friendly. They asked us what they could do to improve! Very cool to give input. TVs and even karaoke on Thursdays make Roni's very fun. I used to love this place. Their food was amazing for years. The last couple of takeout orders have been nothing short of awful. Last trip, chicken tenders were chewy and seemed undercooked. Tots were soggy and tasted of old oil. This trip, tacos were abysmal. Shells were stale and chewy and the meat tasted like it was scraped from the bottom of the pan. Dry, burnt and inedible! Doubt I'll be dining here again. So disappointing! read more

Reading past reviews I was a bit nervous to come here. Sat down and a gentleman came by with menus and took our drink order within a few minutes. Refills were a bit slow, but food was out within 10min of ordering. Food was average for bar food. Neither of us finished our meal. We likely won't be back as we have another bar and grill we like more that's closer to home. I wouldn't let past reviews scare anyone away from trying it out. read more

Apparently, the cleanliness of the restaurant is a constant issue, so much so that another patron was told they couldn't be serviced for over an hour and refused taking to go orders....but yet then accepted to go orders after the patron had immediately left. If you want overpriced, sub-par food that takes who knows how long for them to prep due to their "back-logged upkeep with the cleanliness of their utensils and cooking equipment," then cha-ching. You hit the jackpot. They'll even give you a new narrative and serve a side of "I aint having none of that unless you white" undertones as you try to explain away that you just want some food because you already paid for it. My boyfriend and I ordered thru here off Grubhub and the food was decent but they shorted us 10 wings each on our order. Total of 20 wings. When you are spending $80 for your total order, that kind of shortage is 1/4 of the cost. How do you confuse 10 for 20? I am not a very happy camper. Come for the food. It may look like standard pub fare, it's not. If you've been to this location under previous ownership, forget what you know. The words "dive bar" are tossed a bit freely in these reviews. It's a 'come as you are' bar. Roni's food exceeds what most expect at a local's bar. My better half goes for the KC Cowboy burger. I on the other hand am a hot and spicy kind of guy. I really like the Fire on the Mountain burger but after having a Farmers Burger and given Roni's allowing modifications I have found my favorite burger in KC, the Fire on the Farmers Mountain burger. So glad this bar was able to re-open after the lockdown and be able to work up from there. They have the best prices in drinks and such amazing food! I personally haven't tried their new bbq menu yet, but it is in the books soon. Never had a bad experience here. The staff is so friendly and welcoming as well as the patrons. If you are ever out during the week, you will have a sweet bartender during the week, Mariah, and during the nights it's either Zack Or Ashley. All amazing bartenders. A few months ago I bought a groupon for Roni's Pub for 4 people for dinner. Problem is with 1 away at college we usually aren't 4 for dinner but last night we were so we went. First impression, this place is a DIVE!!! I mean really a dive. But it was hopping. They were having poker games which took up most of the dining room but we managed to snag a high top in the pool area. Everything was delicious. We had fried pickles spears and I prefer chips but they were really tasty and fresh and lightly battered and not at all greasy. Next I had a bbq blue burger. He didn't ask how I wanted it cooked but it was perfectly medium and delicious. I subbed onion rings which were breaded and really good. My mom is a pork tenderloin fanatic so always has to try it (and always says "it's not as good as Christy's) so of course that's what she ordered. And.... not as good as Christy's BUT the best non-Christy's she has ever had. Hubby also had a burger and daughter had a fried chicken sandwich, both with tots and both were really pleased. So if you are looking for good bar food I would give it a shot, just know that it is a BAR and a DIVE, but sometimes that's just what you need. Been to Roni's a fwe times - love the "divey" environment - feels comfortable. Service is great and good food. I enjoy having the "dive bar" atmosphere - bright lights are annoying when you want to relax with your drink! Be nice if you all had a "free pool" night - since Red 8 closed down (they had free pool every Wednesday night), our group has nowhere to go. I came here on a Monday night after work on my way home. I had always seen the place from the Highway, but you need to get on the frontage road between 87th st and 75th st to get here. When I walked in, I noticed immediately that this is a pretty divey Bar and Grill/ Sports Bar. I sat down in a booth and checked out the menu as regulars started sreaming in to watch Monday Night Football. Monday's are also their Burger Special night. I ordered the Bacon, Mushroom, Onion and Swiss burger. It's name is fairly self explanatory but it has nearly all the toppings I like on my burgers. I also ordered a side salad instead of fries. The salad was the first thing to come out. I'm typically and iceberg lkettuce kinda guy when it comes to a salad. But this had all sorts of leafy greens and purples. Not really my thing, but gave me some insight that maybe this dive bars food is not just bare minimum like many. Next the burger came out. Usually I prefer "smash" burger patties as opposed to thicker tavern type burgers, but this one was really good. The toppings and flavor of the burger all melted together to give a very pleasant experience. Everything here was above expectations for a dive bar. I plan to return again sometime to try out a philly or maybe a tenderloin. read more

the bald bartender is crooked. you can't deal cash w him. i've had two instances where i've given him cash (once a $20 bill and a separate instance a $50 bill). both times he's given the cash to get you to the nearest 10, but "forgets" to give you the rest of the change. judging his demeanor, he knows he's doing it. he argued the instance w the $20, didn't bat an eye w the $50. luckily received appropriate cash back both times but it shouldn't be an issue to get proper money back either way. delinquent behavior. read more

Today they were understaffed, again. 25 minutes at the bar with one unrefilled drink (I also asked for water that never showed) and no one to take a food order. No one behind the bar when I was ready to bail so I put the cost of the drink under empty glass and bounced. They do have a great staff.
