So glad I gave this place a second chance. I consider myself a wings connoisseur. First time I went was on a Saturday and I didn't enjoy the wings. They had a bad day. This could not have been a worse dining experience. I brought all 5 of my employees here for our hour long lunch. We ordered 4 different burgers, tenderloin and chicken fried chicken. It took 35 MINUTES to get our food. All burgers were ordered medium and med rare. They all came out WELL done and I didn't even bother eating mine. The bacon was nearly raw. The tenderloin and chicken were both burnt on the bottom side. The green beans were like wax covered rubber. When I tried to inform the waitress of this she stormed off mid sentence to get the "cook" to come talk to us. When i showed him the issues he just said "fine I'll just take care of it" and walked away. What a disgrace. I'll never be back here to eat! read more

I've been a frequent visitor here for several months. This is a great dive bar, and in this context, dive bar is absolutely meant in great terms. Beyond the inviting and relaxed atmosphere, the bartenders and servers are very welcoming with great personalities. They, alone, make you want to come back. As a "foodie", though, my favorite part is the menu they offer. It is a bar menu, but not totally your typical bar fare. I've only tried the HUGE pork tenderloin (on sale for only 6.95 on Saturdays, btw), but also the incredibly flavorful and juicy pork chop dinner. However, what finally got me to post a review is what I ordered tonight. The calamari appetizer was spectacular. Pan fried in garlic sauce, and served with jalapenos, cherry peppers, and pepperoncinis, this enormous portion was more than worth the 9.95. And best of all, not one single piece was cooked long enough to be chewy. I had mine served with 2 sauces, and even as I got full, I just couldn't stop eating. Ordered delivery. I am pregnant and have been craving chicken fried steak. Our food was AMAZING. Chicken was tender. Green beans were delicious and mashed potatoes were perfect. We got the spin queso dip. Some of the best I've ever had. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwich with fries. Both were enormous and amazing as well! Roni's doesn't look like much from the outside - actually doesn't look like much from the inside either. But don't let that fool you. Even though it looks like a well worn neighborhood bar, the food is fabulous! Sandwiches, burgers, wraps - you can't go wrong here. The service is good - on busy nights those gals run their legs off. I have NEVER seen anyone disrespected in this establishment, so I was shocked to see the review that suggested otherwise. I would like to start with saying that I think Roni's has great drink specials, delicious food, fun atmosphere, and friendly staff for the most part! I have been to the bar a few times now and really love it. Every time I have been there the service has always been great. However, two weekends ago we had a group of friends up there that kept growing, so we had to switch tables a couple times, making sure to tell the waitress, and staying in her section. If I were a waitress I would be happy about more people coming, because that means more money in my pocket. She then proceeds to come to us, explain that we are her only table left, and she was told she could leave. She asked us if we wanted to tip out with her, or have our tab transferred to the bar. Well, personally I don't want to run my card twice. So, I asked her if she would get part of the tip, and she explained to us that the bar tender offered to tip her 20% on our current tab, out of her pocket so that it was no hassle. I asked if she could bring me my tab, and I would just tip her (because I didn't think she deserved 20%) on the total and then she could just transfer it. She was hesitant, so I asked what was easier for her. She responded with, " I don't care, I'm just trying to get out of here." With a very negative attitude. At that point I looked at her and said just transfer it. I thought that was incredibly rude, especially to a group that was eating and drinking there and probably spending close to 350 to 400 in a night. When it was time to go, we asked for our tabs and they were all messed up. She had separated them, but they were all mixed up and confusing. So, the bar tender was very calm and patient with us, so that nobody felt screwed over with what they were paying. I will be returning to your bar because it is a good place to hang out, fantastic drink specials,( $2 beers on Friday night) and the food is not only delicious but a great price ($6 nachos also Friday). Nice little place to grab a quick lunch during the week. Stopped by and didn't expect to get such a yummy BLT. Bartenders are super nice and its really clean. I think there were like 15 T.V.s so you can watch from every angle. My experience here today was nothing short of disheartening. Especially, in 2017. I am a HUGE fan of Groupon and Yelp and frequently use both apps because we travel a lot for sporting events to different cities that I am not always familiar with. Using these apps, gives me the opportunity to enjoy the local businesses and could potentially give me something to look forward to when returning to that area, if the place is worthwhile. I purchased a Groupon for Roni's Pub and Kitchen after reading the reviews and wanting a good burger. We arrived at Roni's at approximately 3pm and because it looked a little more "Pub" than "Kitchen" on the outside than I expected, I went and stuck my head in the door first to see if it would be suitable for my family to accompany me inside. There was a table with a family seated inside the place so I went back to my vehicle and got my children and my mother. We walked inside and the sign at the Hostess podium read: "Please seat yourself" and so we did. The moment we sat down, a waitress approached us and said: "I'm sorry, all of our dishes are dirty and our kitchen will be closed for the next hour or so." I found that kind of odd but because we would probably need them anyway, I replied: "Okay. Can you give us to-go boxes instead?" Her response was: "No, that's the thing.....all of our utensils are dirty too and our grill is off so we can't even cook." Instantaneously, I knew that this establishment was not trying to serve us. I said to my family: "Let's go." and we promptly left. Needless to say, I was absolutely LIVID!!!! We were hungry. Very hungry. I had ALREADY paid for our food via the Groupon. And I am BLACK. I could not, for the life of me, wrap my head around this scenario: It's 2017 and I was just refused service at an establishment, because I'm black!! You don't believe it??? I didn't want to either so......5 minutes after we left, I called. I called and placed an order to go. You know what happened? THEY TOOK MY ORDER!! Because the freaking grill was NOT closed according to the girl on the phone! In her own words, she told me the grill was open. I was floored, pissed, disgusted and they heard about it. Someone in the background was trying to feed the girl on the phone info because she started stammering and trying to explain that she thought they gave me a refund on my Groupon (which I didn't even tell her about, so they'd been talking about us) and then I heard someone tell her to tell me something else but I was already so far into my rant that it didn't even matter. This is so unnecessary. What does the color of my skin have to do with the color of my money?! It spends the same and pays the bills. Period. The most hurtful thing about the entire situation is that it awakened memories that my mother hasn't had to deal with in YEARS and even more so, caused me to have to explain to my children exactly what just happened to them in a time when RACISM should be dead. Shame on you Roni's Pub and Kitchen. The residual stain that will forever remain on your name due to this blatant racist act is your fault and your fault only. Not ever in a million years would I have thought I'd have this happen to me. I'm telling ALL my friends about this. Regardless of their skin color. Saw the Groupon and decided to give it a try. The place looks more like a local dive bar than a restaurant. Very unimpressed with the dark, dingy decor. My 11 yr old was with us. I would not have brought her here if i had known. Nearly empty on Saturday at 11:30am, except a few men drinking at the bar. Our waitress did a good job. I did take her too long to return to take our orders after bringing drinks. Odd since we were only table. Confusion on the "daily special". She said 'pork tenderloin' for $6.95. She said it came with fries. Actually it comes with any side dish but we had to ask for clarification. My dad asked for mashed potatoes. The special, we soon realized, was a Pork Tenderloin "SANDWICH"! OHHH...then fries would have made more sense. Menu was basic bar food along with a few salads for us healthy eaters. The sandwich was big and dad rated it a 7 out of 10. No kids menu! Hmmm...now i get why...its a BAR. So overpriced chicken strips and fries for the kiddo. I ordered the Beer Cheese soup served with soft pretzle stick for my meal. She brought it out around 10 min before my families meals came out. Wish she would have asked. The soup was TERRIBLE. Weird aftertaste like nothing i have ever tasted. And served with bacon on top, which was not in the description. I picked it all out. I asked waitress for a side salad. She took away my full cup of soup without asking if it was ok. Salad was big and delish! Variety of mixed greens and other veggies. Ranch was good also. Surprised to have a good salad at a bar. Oh...back to the soup. Menu said there are vegetables in cheese soup...i saw maybe 10 tiny chunks of celery. Wow!! After traveling for six hours for an unexpected and inconvenient meeting in Kansas City, I thought I found a GEM, almost in the parking lot of my hotel. The atmosphere, and waitress were wonderful and the special, of course on a Tuesday, were Tacos. I thought I'd enjoy my drink and maybe a few more before ordering. My plans changed pretty quick when some Nazi kitchen guy went nuts on somebody in the back room. The kitchen layout gives a fairly open view of the cooking area, so you could see the whole thing. If it lasted for a few minutes, ok cool, but this freak went on for like an hour. The words were offensive, demeaning and completely opposite to the bar's atmosphere and looking at the scene through the window, I was hoping the poor kid would slug him. I ask the Waitress what all this was about and she said a "misunderstanding on a Taco count" ?? Forget the few more drinks, the special, or anything else. I'll drive to a place that I don't have to listen to a raging maniac. If I wanted that, I can find a Bikers bar !!
