When we walked in, we were seated right away. As far as service, we didn't get that right away. We waited 15 minutes before someone acknowledged us at our table (no exaggeration, I kept track). They do have a lot of sushi options, just not a lot of vegetarian options. I ordered an avocado roll and I had more rice in than anything. More of a rice roll I suppose. I have only had togo, but I was quite impressed. I definitely want to dine in here sometime soon. I forgot what I had but it had spicy tuna and shrimp tempura on the roll (it's Ronnie's signature roll), it was delicious and very presentable! I had the nigiri combo and the sushi were all well made and the fish were cut nicely. I wasn't a fan of the spider roll, it was just too big. The crunch roll was good, nothing too exciting. I was also disappointed in the miso soup, it lacked taste, green onions, and tofu (some places still put in some seaweed) which are the basics for the soup. read more

I took my cousin and his family out to dinner for his birthday on Friday before the rush. We were only given one set of menus for 4 people. We asked for more and our waitress said she would get us some. More and more people came in and got menus and we kept getting passed. She came to take our order and we said we needed menus, which she went off to get. I finally stopped another waitress that was going to give menus to another table and got those. We perused the menu and ordered our food. A couple of people got the bento dinner, tempura dinner, and I the tofu mountain ($18.95) plus a couple of rolls to start. All the food came at once and I had to find another server to get us those little soy sauce dishes for the rolls. Everyone enjoyed their food, but my tofu mountain wasn't as tasty as the picture looked. Terrible service. I informed the server I have a dairy allergy, and asked if the lunch combo had any dairy. She informed me that the tempura did. So I ordered the plate, and gave the tempura away, I then noticed the sushi had tempura shrimp in it, so I then asked about the goyza. She stated there is dairy in that as well. So basically after I informed her of my allergy, she failed to tell me that I couldn't eat 3/4 of my order. What I did eat wasn't very good either, and others in our party said their food was subpar. Horrible service, after being seated we were waiting for about 15 minutes until our waiter arrived to take our order. The place was slightly busy but was no excuse for their lateness. After ordering we waited 20 minutes for only 4 of our 5 meals. After receiving our meals we had all noticed that all of our portions were reduced compared to prior experiences. We continued to wait for 15 minutes and still didn't receive our final meal that was by far the easiest to make. Today was the second time we have left here unhappy and feeling like we were treated rude. I'm ok with trying to be upsold, I get that. But when we say no please stop! I received my dinner a full 10-15 minutes before my husband got his. We were the only people in there 3:00 pm). I went there to eat with my husband so my food sat there until his came. When it came time for the lady to bring our salad and soup she told my husband to "move" ( meaning his arm). No please, no thank you, just MOVE. Then when it came time to pay the bill she literally dropped it on the counter and walked off. I owed my husband dinner, so I paid. I was trying to decide if I was going to tip. With the holder open she came and tried to take it out of my hand. I stated that I wasn't done yet. She sighed again.... apparently a very rough day for her. Anyway... Hands down the best sushi restaurant in Anchorage! At times when super packed and busy, the service can tend to be slower than normal which is typical at any restaurant. Sitting at the bar when it's slow is fun! The sushi chefs like to put on a show, joking and make you laugh.
