Came for brunch for Mother's Day. (Yes I know... long time ago...) and I indulged in the buffet. It was pretty good! I really liked the ceviche, that was a pleasant surprise. Small offer but had good options. I only took a picture of my 1st round. lol I just wish they had a better sweet/dessert selection.

We had a good time at roofers! The security guard outside was super friendly and informative on not only roofers but the sister restaurant code red. We started at the bar downstairs and grabbed some food and a drink k which were both awesome. The fish and chips were delicious! Perfectly fired and buttered pure heaven. The spicy margarita was fun and delicious! Highly recommend you grab yourself both. We wandered up to the roof afterward and even though it was pouring outside it was still really fun. Great bar tenders up there as well. The space is small though and they were saying there would be live music that night, so it was getting a little tight. Otherwise highly recommend giving this place a go!

I've been to Roofers Union a few times, it's def an AdMo staple. I went with friends on a Saturday around 6pm. Surprisingly, there were only a few occupied table, and because of this I was hopeful that service would timely and efficient. We must have gotten there around shift change, however, because it took 20 minutes to get in drink orders and at least another 20 to receive them. Our servers were switched halfway through, after which service picked up tremendously. Thanks Nathan We ordered the truffle fries and were disappointed by the lack of any truffle seasoning whatsoever. The staff kindly switched them out for a different appetizer, which was greatly appreciated. Be sure to sit next to the window, it's a terrific view of 18th St.

The roof top at Roofers Union gives a great view of the city. Their drink menu is standard. We had some Modelos and sat watching the skyline. The playist was wacky. It was a mix of Eminem and country hits I've never heard before. The vibes were good. People were socializing and having a good time! I would come back again another time.

Cool spot to pop into if you're in the area. If you're into lobster then Tuesday's would be a great time to visit since they have whole lobster for $25. The corn was dry and overcooked. I did fried cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. They weren't seasoned well. Very mid. I used the aioli and hotsauce to give them a kick. Happy hour is from 5-7pm so It was nice to pay $8 for a drink vs $28 for a drink in DC. Service was good, everyone was helpful.

I stopped by the rooftop bar with a friend to have dinner on a beautiful spring evening. The rooftop bar has a tent on top of it that made it feel surprisingly cramped. However, the view from the edge was great and we found a nice spot on stools with a ledge for our food and drinks. Unfortunately, the food was just not great. I had fish and chips with fries and it was really average. The fries were not great at all. They have a rooftop only menu, but the fish and chips are on the normal menu so I'm not sure what other food items are like. The service was pretty absent too, which I honestly expected because it's pretty much like a bar. I think in the future I would come here for a drink but not for the food. There are probably better rooftop spots in the area.

Stopped in for brunch and were able to be seated on the roof which was great for enjoying food on a beautiful day! The food was pretty decent. I think the idea of a mimosa board is cool. Basically a board with smoked salmon, a bagel, capers, cream cheese, tomatoes and onion and comes with a mimosas. Definitely would come back again

Food was great and came out in a good time. Restaurant was kind of loud tho just bc of the crowd. Service was okay as well, had to wait like 10 mins for a refill. I would def go back here good spot overall with good food!

Had some friends visiting from out of town and they were staying in Adams Morgan so when we were asked where to meet up for lunch Roofers was the first that came to mind. Have been here a few times since they reopened under new ownership but always just sat outdoors in front so this was the first time we checked out the updated dining room on the second floor. The space looks to be the same size and even layout but with a nicer looking bar, new wall art and a lot of solid larger rectangular tables good for groups. Spacing is still very good - the tables are all a good size with plenty of elbow room. Only thing is it seems to be much noisier, with sound bouncing off the walls especially when the music volume is high and there are loud groups. It wasn't too busy when we were there but with just 2-3 tables of 6 including our own it was pretty difficult to hear anyone not sitting right next to you. For that matter I'd have preferred to be on the rooftop (alas for got to take a look this time) but probably best when it's cooler. Food - brunch items as it was a weekend - is as usual, well prepared, reliable and filling. Midrange prices comparable to area restaurants. We all had entrees, sides and drinks and it came to around $30/pp before tip. Despite the noise issue I like the updated space - definitely worth repeated visits.

Overhyped, not enough flavor and very little food for the price, the cocktails were not that great, I was disappointed

Such a picturesque spot for a little sunset rooftop drink. Pictured are the views around sunset of the Adams Morgan area. The drinks themselves were typical DC prices and I was a fan of the lychee martini. Would definitely recommend if in the area! It was just really crowded and loud so would caution against those looking for a quiet chill place.

If you are looking for somewhere with very casual dining in the Adams Morgan area - this could be a good spot for you. From the pictures online, we were hoping to eat on the rooftop, but that was closed and not open (even with a reservation). Similar to what some of the other reviews mention (which I unfortunately didn't check before visiting), the dinner menu has a limited selection of options. There is also very little interaction/engagement with the severs or staff, as orders are made through a QR code on each table. One thing this does mean is that food and drinks come really quickly - so, if you're short on time... This could be a good option for you. I tried the chicken wings, Bucatini pasta, and sampled the friend chicken thigh sandwichwhich was okay. Overall it was an okay dining experience.

The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. Clean, trendy bathrooms, nice vibes throughout the whole spot for pictures, great for a night cap or pre-dinner drink.

It tasted like a rainbow--just bright and with a really delicious after taste. I should have stopped at the rose but after my trying my friend's, i had to have one! We initially came for happy hour, but moved to the cocktail menu. The hh was a bit limited, but the drinks were priced overall pretty reasonably for the area. My one complaint is the wine glasses were so teeny. Overall though, I would recommend this bar. Bonus: cheese balls when you sit down! I believe there is also a limited food menu (think nachos) for the after work or late night crowd.

As tourists, we had no idea how intimate the space was (or that reservations are recommended even just for drinks!), so we felt incredibly lucky when a staff member took pity on us and offered an outside table. I wish I could remember his name--he truly made the experience. He brought so much energy and personality, setting the tone for the whole night. After scanning the QR codes on the "records" for the menu, we each ordered something different. I went with the Take Me Out--a mix of mezcal, pineapple, amontillado, tamarind, mango, coconut, and lime--and I was not prepared for just how delicious it would be. It was layered, refreshing, and completely memorable. The presentation and attention to detail were next-level. My drink arrived with a perfectly round ice sphere and was paired with a sugared, vegan mango gummy that added a fun, unexpected twist. Our host also elevated several of the drinks tableside--adding custom tinctures and even creating a smiley face with drops of oil and basil in one cocktail nearby. It felt thoughtful, creative, and a little theatrical in the best way. We spent the evening outside, enjoying incredible drinks, easy conversation, and a warm night under the stars. It was one of those experiences that just sticks with you. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to D.C.--and Press Club Bar of Record will absolutely be on my list to revisit. Highly recommend, and maybe make a reservation!

It's a sexy basement vinyl den with additional outdoor seating, 10/10 unique cocktails, and incredible Japanese inspired small plates. Between two visits, we have tried 6 different drinks. They are named after songs and listed on the back of a fake vinyl cover. Each costs around $20, but with the mandatory tip and tax, it comes to around $26-28 per drink. The since I left you, though, is worth every penny. It is similar to an old fashioned but a little sweeter, with bourbon (makers mark), and while the menu says it also has miso, blackberry, cardamom, and cacao, I wouldn't say those flavors come through. But it is one of the best cocktails being served in DC right now. It is so good. They serve it with a cardamom tuile that is delicious as well. There is a lot of variety on here, but my number 2 is the Roses, a bright red gin based drink with a hint of fruitiness and a spicy kick in the back end. If you want something a little sweeter, the Takeover is a cognac based drink with coffee notes served with a mini donut. The food is exceptionally well seasoned and so flavorful. The fried chicken cannot be missed, and I love that you can get it in half or full size portions. The shrimp tempura might be even better. You get four large pieces that are super crisp and have a little orange sauce on them. Amazing. Our second visit we tried their chips and dip, and these potato chips alone are worth a visit. Large, crunchy, and served with a tasty ranch dip. I think 2 dishes is good for two people to fill you up, but add a third if hungry. The place is quite expensive, but they are worth it. For a date night, they are a great choice. Four drinks and three dishes shared between two people came to around $195, but as of this review, they are offering a $30 off deal if you pay through the app In Kind. Bonus points because the first time we came, they seated us maybe 5 minutes after our reservation time, and they gave us a free glass of cava. Top notch customer service right there
