Let's start with service. It is absolutely top notch. Everyone is so friendly & working so hard for you to have a great experience. The atmosphere is super relaxed & comfortable. The cinnamon rolls are as good as advertised, some of the best I've ever had. I had the denver omelet with hash browns. The hashbrowns were crispy, but lacked flavor. Just adding some salt & pepper would have been good. The omelet was ok. I'm more used to sauteing the ingredients before adding to the omelet. Here, everything got thrown into the pan at once. Decided to try Roosters. Was about 11:30 am and when I walked in I saw a sign that they were out of home made cinnamon rolls, crap will have to get there earlier if I am going to try one. Rooster's is pretty much that mom and pop local diner that all the folks frequent every so often to catch up and get a good bite to eat. The workers all seemed to be family members, and it seemed like every customer walking in was a regular. We definitely felt like the odd ones out, but the place had good reviews and was located right across from the place we were staying at. Their menu is pretty extensive, with a lot of choices that all sound pretty good. There are breakfast plates, sweets, omelets, egg combos, benedicts, etc. We didn't want to over order since we were going to be on the road for quite some time. But we had no idea how large the portions were, so we ended up over-ordering anyway! I ordered the Eggs Benedict ($11.45), which came with two poached eggs on ham and a side of English muffin, smothered with Hollandaise sauce. I opted for a side of hash browns over the breakfast potatoes/fruit. This dish was delicious - eggs were poached well and when broken into, spilled egg yolk all over the biscuit and ham. The ham wasn't too savory and the sauce was the right amount of creamy. Definitely enjoyed the texture of everything mixed together when cut into small bites. I thought the muffin was the perfect amount of chewiness and soaked up all the sauce and egg yolk. And the hash browns were cooked with the right amount of crispiness and were not too salty or oily. Loved the portion size of the potatoes as it was enough to share with my family. #1 Egg Combo ($9.25) for 1 egg, choice of 2 pieces of bacon, sausage links, or sausage patties. And what was great about this dish was that it came with hashbrowns, potatoes, or fruit AND their popular freshly baked cinnamon roll or toast and jelly. With all the raving reviews about the cinnamon roll, we knew we had to at least try it. And this was the perfect opportunity to do so. I thought it was pretty darn tasty - warm and covered with ooey gooey icing and a dollop of butter on top. The only criticism was that the sides of the cinnamon roll were a bit dry, but once you dug inside to the warm bread and amazing cinnamon filling, it's melt in your mouth fantastic. The egg combo was solid, but that was nothing amazing compared to the roll. Definitely a good price for quality and quantity! Single French toast by itself ($6.45) - never have I seen French toast made from wheat bread. This was definitely something new and interesting that I didn't care for. I appreciate the ingenuity, but I wasn't a fan of the overall texture. I felt like the wheat bread made it more dense than necessary. My mom loves French toast and I think she was a little underwhelmed with this as well. I don't remember if we ordered one or two stacks of pancakes, but a single $4.15 while a double is $6.25. Way too much food already, but we were pleasantly surprised at the fluffiness of the pancakes. The batter is made from scratch, and I could definitely tell as it was not too sweet, but had good amount of chew to it. And there's the Yelp check-in offer to get a free slice of pie. We were able to redeem the offer for a nice slice of marionberry pie. I had no idea it came with ice cream and would be served before all the other dishes, so we were hyped up on sweets before the main dishes arrived! I will have to say that although I'm not the biggest fan of berry pie, Rooster's does make some amazing pie - probably one of the best I've ever had. Thick and flaky crust with such a generous amount of filling. Topped with real churned ice cream. Really rich and really filling. So all in all, we ended up over-ordering and having a bunch of leftovers to eat while at Lake Crater. I will say that if you get here early, definitely try for a cinnamon roll. And take advantage of the pie check-in offer. Workers were busy, but friendly. I really enjoyed the Eggs Benedict and the hash browns. Pancakes were tasty, too. Everybody got to what they wanted! I love, love, LOVE breakfast, no matter what time of day. Hubby wanted LUNCH! The Country Benedict was GOOD! The sausage was flavorful, without seeming to be extremely fatty. Fluffy scrambled eggs... and the BISCUIT!!! Brought half of it home, to have for a leftover breakfast! First off, Rooster's has some great pie. We used the Yelp check in offer for a free slice of pie. It was our lucky day since they gave us a slice of marionberry, with a huge dollop of fresh whipped cream. Even our friend who doesn't normally like pie liked this one. The staff were friendly and kept our coffees topped off, which was perfect to go with the pie. We also had breakfast/lunch. Breakfast seems pretty standard with the selection of eggs, pancakes, French toast, etc. We got in too late for cinnamon rolls (sold out by 12:30pm on Saturday when we visited). I had the chicken pot pie, which had the same great crust. However the vegetables definitely seemed like they used frozen vegetables and were simultaneously soggy but hard. The chicken and dumpling soup was not my favorite either, but I haven't had too many of those before. The curry chicken sandwich was pretty good, and a big portion meant we had leftovers. If back in the area I would stick to the pie, breakfast and maybe sandwiches. Overall, Rooster's is a good option for diner food if you find yourself staying nearby - definitely a better choice than Shari's nearby. read more

I grew up in Klamath Falls and used to come to Medford for track meets in high school a loooong time ago . I have been here twice and I'm sure I will be back again to have one of their yummy cinnamon rolls or marionberry cheesecake pie. My two year old grandson took one bite of the cinnamon roll and said "dewicious" and it was indeed! The cinnamon rolls are huge and soft. They warm them and dang it...my mouth is watering thinking about this cinnamon roll and here I am in Southern California with no way to get one right now. All of the other food we have ordered here has been good. From eggs and bacon, to pancakes, biscuits and gravy and omelettes. The coffee is good and their iced tea is good as well. On our second visit our server was a little grumpy which surprised me because everyone there has been super nice. I chalked it up to her maybe having a bad day, but it was noticeable. Looking for a place to eat, well look no further. We spent the night in Medford and decided to eat breakfast a Roosters. I ordered the #3 combo that came with Eggs, sausage, hash browns and a half order of biscuits and gravy. It was delicious. I also had a choice of toast or cinnamon roll. I had read reviews indicating the cinnamon rolls were good. That's an understatement it was super yummy. It was big and I shared it with my son and daughter. The place was busy and the staff was attentive to customers. The owner Annette also helped keep coffee cups filled and assisting customers. Well, I went to leave and my car battery was dead. I went inside to ask if anyone could give me a jump start. The owner Annette took the time to give my car a jump start even thought they were busy. Rooster's is located in the corner, across from Del Taco with it's own parking lot. My husband and I decided to have breakfast here this past Wednesday. around 10:30 am. When we came in, we waited a short time before seated by the hostess. After browsing the menus, we ended up ordering: Cinnamon Roll Combo, $9.45- This entree comes with a cinnamon roll like French toast concoction with 1 egg and 2 pieces of sausage, bacon or sausage patty. My husband opted for the sausage links. The French toast cinnamon roll was pretty good and had a great cinnamon flavor. It was fluffy and had that eggy taste that you would expect from French toast. If I ordered this entree, I would most likely be full but my husband was still hungry and mentioned to me that he would have been happy with my entree. Veggie Scramble, $9.95- Served with your choice of toast, I picked wheat. This vegetable scramble was like an omelette that was filled with an assortment of vegetables. I enjoyed the mushrooms, diced tomatoes, chopped onions and bell peppers, chives and broccoli. The scramble is supposed to come with hollandaise sauce, I requested it to be on the side. For my side, I picked hash browns and thought it was cooked to a nice crispy crunch (I never like it when diners serve soggy hash browns). This entree truly is a lot of food. My husband ate a little more than half of my food because his entree wasn't enough to give him that satiety and I am a small eater. --------------------------------- (Total= $19.40 prior to tip) Service was friendly and somewhat attentive. We both had hot water (my sore throat needs to stay lubricated, preferably with warm liquids). I had also requested honey because it helps to coat my irritated throat. Our server brought us a bottle (which was nice so that I would be able to use as much as I needed in each cup). For a diner like this, when you are done eating, you have to go up to the front to pay. No bill is given at your table. This restaurant is truly decorated in all things Rooster. I really liked the interesting different rooster lamps and figurines. Even the ladies' restroom had some rooster decor. I thought it was cleaver the way they added chicken wire over a painting of a rooster pen on the wall (it is just something you will have to see). Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays folks! While I wasn't able to celebrate Christmas at home on the 25th this year, I did have a splendid trip in Oregon with the parents about a week ago. Somehow we had decided on taking the 5 up from Sacramento to Portland. On the way back, after 4 hours of driving down, I decided to stop here and take my Asian family out to an American breakfast. Rooster's was incredibly cozy and it felt like a true diner in a small town. The restaurant was spacious with plenty of wait staff, and from the looks of the crowds, everyone was having a good time with good food and company. My family are not the most adventurous eaters, so we each settled for an omelette each with a mix of home style fries (potatoes yo!) or hash browns. The plates were gigantic and none of us were able to actually finish our meals. My own veggie omelette with spinach, blue cheese, and tomatoes, was supplemented with some sausage. Out of all the meats we tried (ham, bacon, etc.) I have to say the sausage topped them all. In addition, the cinnamon bun that came with our meal was as big as my head! Sugary, fluffy, and best eaten when piping hot. I clearly did not have any room for dessert, but the Yelp check in included a free slice of pie, so I opted for what they said was the popular choice: blackberry cream cheese pie. YUM! Everything about the pie was spot on, but alas, I just could not finish it.
