I live in Spring Hill Florida. I am not familiar with the arean at this restaurant is located. I did not go to Disneyland because I have problems walking. And I don't have grandkids either. Lol anyway my cousin came in to take her grandkids and her daughter and son-in-law to Disneyland and we want to meet somewhere in between. I suggested the city, and her daughter suggested the restaurant just by looking at what was available online. It was a 7:30 PM reservation and we got in right away. Which always worries me when I can get into a good restaurant right away. Lol. We were seated in a private room with eight high-back chairs which weighed a ton.. since My cousin was from Ohio, and I wanted it to be a nice restaurant because Florida does have a lot of nice restaurants. I appreciated the cloth napkins and the heavy silverware. One side of the room had nothing but windows, so it seemed very light, even though it was a small room . It was decorated nicely as if you were in your grandma's house, wine rack, and a buffet. Now the food.: What can I say? We looked at the menu and there was a special going on. An appetizer, entrée, and a dessert for $29. It seemed like a very good deal, especially since the steakwas the same price on the regular menu. The adults decided and went for the specials that they were runng. I read some reviews prior to getting there, and I heard a lot of great reviews on the pork chops. We got appetizers prior to dinner fried green tomatoes, I did not know my cousin and her daughter did not like them. We also had the pork belly lollipops and the scallops in a shell. I swear we had something else but I can't remember. I told my cousin this is a good restaurant. I'm almost sure and that fried green tomatoes will taste nothing like her mom to cook, a wobbly, thin, and greasy, and you could wave it in the air because it was very flexible. Lol she took one bite and claim these are so good. I did not known what I was missing! Her daughter did the same because she did not like green tomatoes either. That was the first appetizer that disappeared. The lollipops were very good and did not have a lot of grease. They were covered with a peach jam. I was told that it was homemade and they rotate what jam is put on top of the pork daily. Yesterday it was raspberry, I wish I would've came then. Lol, and the scallops in the shell with a basic cream sauce was excellent. Because the appetizers were so good I knew that the main course was not gonna be that great. You do not usually get two things in a row. And with all people happy. Well surprise me, everybody loved their dinner too, and the side dishes that came with them. Two got steak, one got the salmon and like I said before I was getting the pork chop which came with a creamed corn and some collard greens both excellently prepared. My cousin couldn't quit saying how delicious everything was on her plate and the little pieces of food that she got from her daughter and son-in-law's plate. Lol, and then the dessert came. They had a bread, pudding and ice cream homemade, sorbet for their specials and they also had crème brûlée and a flourless chocolate torte. Both were excellently prepared . I guess I should know, I was a pastry chef for 15 years specializing in European style desserts, I used to make the flourless chocolate torte every day, and crème brûlée is my favorite dessert of all times. I do believe my brûlée is just a little bit richer. But it still had good flavor. So as you could read, we all enjoyed our meals and the kids enjoyed their's which was chicken fingers and macaroni and cheese and truffled French fries. Plus they ate some of our stuff. All of us were very happy and very stuffed. Besides two bottles of wine throughout dinner. Lol I think anything no matter what it taste like. I'd been happy because I was with my cousin again. We were raised like brother and sister and I love her so deeply. And of course because she has kids I love them deeply too. And I was surprised when I found out that my niece was the surrogate for a gay couple in Philadelphia. It made me really proud to know that she was my niece. Anyway, if you get a chance, please make your way to this restaurant. You will not be sorry. First time her. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is elegant. They recommended the award winning fried green tomatoes and we said sure but in my mind I was like...it is fried green tomatoes...not much to it. However, they are fantastic. The breading, the cheese and the sweet drizzle make these fried green tomatoes a culinary delight. My husband had the tenderloin steak with eggs and he said it was the best he has had in a really long time. I had the lobster, goat cheese omelette and the freshness and quality ingredients were evident. It was delicious. We were in town for a softball tournament and came here based on Yelp reviews. Yelp comes through again - we loved it! Summer, our waitress, was great at describing the dishes and making recommendations and was attentive throughout our meal. We started with the delicious pimento hush puppies - filled with hot gooey pimento cheese and served with a slightly sweet mustard sauce and breads with homemade jam. For dinner we had the seasonal Carbonara, Corvina, shrimp and grits and flat iron steak with truffle fries and green beans. Vegetables were not overcooked mush and the truffle fries were amazing. My steak was perfectly cooked and my sister and husband raved about the fish. We would also recommend the "Distance from the Doctor" drink. If we lived closer we would come here a lot! read more

We use to love this place great happy hour friendly faces not so much anymore . Finally made it for a Tuesday nite lobster special . First the waiter had no personality had to ask about the lobster specials he was brief and really didn't understand the whole picture. Never asked us Wht we wanted to drink just said u ready to order . The food came out and I was Staring at my lobster roll on a hamburger bun with not much lobster on it for the price . He got the lobster shrimp and grits and said it was just okay. The lobster did have a lot of flavor for the litter amount that was on the bun. The waiter screamed from across the bar to our table u good really . Took a bit to get the check. The one waitress seemed pleasant and was explaining the special another table wishing we got her . This restaurant is a local place for us and it's a keeper, two thumbs up, taste buds dancing kind of place! Root and Branch was recommended by a few friends and they weren't lying, the place is awesome! It was our first visit but rest assured we'll be regulars before you know it. The staff is super friendly! Shout out to Natalie (aka Tatiana, jk) and Summer! But let's be real, it's all about the food, the food, the food. Fried green tomatoes are amazing, the syrupy bits with the cheese and a hint of hot pepper will have your taste buds dancing like there's a party in your mouth! Showed up to try this location based on great reviews. Went to hostess stand to get checked in to wait for a table since when we called we were told they don't take reservations. I stood at the stand for approx 5-7 minutes waiting to be acknowledged. I saw they were busy so I had NO issue with waiting seeing the hostess setting another table. Someone did get up to the stand and I was ignored and the people behind me were assisted. I asked the woman if they were taking names for a wait list and she told me I'll be with you in a few minutes - these people have a reservation and turned away from me. It was very rude and inconsiderate when I am willing to wait and can't even be acknowledged. read more

Are used to like their food, and spoke highly of the services and the quality of dishes prepared but my last two experiences have been everything, but that! The steak breakfast now has like tiny pieces of steak not barely what it used to have. The potatoes are still not crunchy and warm like before. Where is it the portions are and half of what they used to be! And lastly, they charge is an outrageous price for a additional steak that we asked for a kid, a 4 ounce steak for $40!!! I love these kind of restaurants! Went today for lunch with my daughter and when I arrived I told them she would be joining me soon but since she only had an hour for lunch I wanted to get a head start. They were very accommodating. I had a Waldorf chicken salad sandwich and Shelby had an open face, roasted duck, cornbread, collard green, and cranberry cream cheese spread sandwich. Both were really tasty. The tables do not have salt and pepper and I would guess it's intentional, because they were not needed. Both meals were really nice. I had their house made grilled pineapple soda. They literally grill pineapple, strain it somehow and add simple syrup, fresh lime, and club soda to make a tart, not super sweet but very fresh drink. I really enjoyed it. Our server Brittany was the most personable and knowledgeable server we've encountered in a long while and even if the food wasn't excellent, just good, we would return to give it another try. I almost forgot about the deviled eggs. Perfect eggs with just enough creaminess in the filling and there was a slight smokiness to them as well. A perfect starter. Found this delightful restaurant in our travels to Clermont. This restaurant was simply decorated yet pleasant to the eye and upon walking in you felt right at home. We came in on a Sunday around noon and they were doing everything right here - staff wearing masks, temp. check before seating, social distancing, etc. When we sat we got a chance to look at this easy menu with things immediately hitting our fancy. The menu was not large and offered an array of enhanced comfort southern foods for brunch. The first thing that caught our eyes were their fried green tomatoes and biscuits. I also got their coconut creamsicle drink because that flavor combo is my absolute favorite!! They did have unlimited mimosas and a fun variety of mixed cocktails available too. The drink I had was so yummy and reminded me of being a kid, eating those delicious pop up creamsicles but in an elevated way! Definitely a must try! The fried green tomatoes were so pretty and wonderfully plated. You could see the amazing fry and crisp on the tomatoes! The pickled Fresno and boirsin cheese with that drizzle of sorghum was the perfect accompaniment to the perfectly cooked fried green tomatoes. As for the biscuits they too were pillowy and buttery.... I just wish there were more! Split one open and try it simply - moist, buttery, slight crisp on the exterior. Then take another piece and liberally enjoy with the delicious butter and jam offered. As I type this... Im dreaming of getting those biscuits again! As for entrees we ordered their chicken sandwich, the burger, and their chicken and waffles. The chicken sandwich was expertly prepared - light yet crisp batter, the crisp, fresh, and tangy apple cider slaw was a great foil to the hot and rich chicken...not too much sauce and the tangy pickles made for a delicious bite each and every time. Their burger was LOADED!! - a generous double patty of beef and bacon on a lightly Toasted bun, cheese, house pickles, and that secret sauce.... It hit all the notes I look for in a burger: rich, tangy, creamy sauce, and a good pickle. I will be back for you one day, dear burger... You should try it too! Also, I love a place that does hand cut fries, lightly salted and the perfect portion! They chicken and waffles were also a yummy expression of this popular dish, perfect waffles and yet again another expertly cooked crispy chicken! You can't go wrong with this sweet/salty combo. Visited on a Wednesday and during what some may call a pandemic. As a foodie this place impressed 100%. The fried green tomatoes were epic level and Summer (bartender) was awesome and confirmed my love for pork belly as something almost socially acceptable with the brussel sprouts. Our experience in September was 10/10, which is hard to come by these days. //The Ambiance: this hometown restaurant offers a quaint but professional atmosphere. They're not trying to overdo anything or fit into any one design concept. I felt comfortable dressed up or dressed down; and the simple aesthetic lends perfectly to the uncomplicated but curated flavors in their food. //The Drinks: They have a great selection of handcrafted drinks, local IPAs and an impressive wine list. Our host for the night, Summer, was over the top helpful in the selection of our drinks, knew her wines and pairings, and made sure everything was just right for us. We had the "House of Glass" and it was refreshingly delicious! //The Food: This American styled menu is worth the adventure. Currently, they have "Marvelous Dining" going on in which you can get an appetizer, entrée, and dessert for only $29. This incredible deal is a perfect introduction to their tasty offerings. This scratch, farm to table bistro is doing it well! The "watermelon and burrata" appetizer only slightly over shadowed the "beer cheese and broccoli soup" (not to be compared to Panera's broccoli and cheese.) The burrata small plate was fresh, sweet and salty. A perfect pairing and the texture of the watermelon is a nice change from the typical tomato started. The soup makes it obvious that they have a love for craft beer. This version offers a little bit of broccoli with a whole lot of love. The cheese and beer soup has a slightly bitter quality but is really enjoyable. The entrees were great. I had the "steak frites" and we also had the "shrimp and grits". Both seem pedestrian, but R&B puts their own spin on these. For example, the shrimp and grits have a really great texture more similar to polenta since they're so creamy. You are able to switch out your sides or add lobster to your steak frites. Along with the marvelous dining, we capped out with their key lime pie and their bread pudding. Both, again, delicious and worth the calorie intake. The key lime pie was tangy and the mango coulis is a perfect accompaniment. The bread pudding was the best! The candied pecans paired so well with the vanilla and caramel sauce and the texture with soft and inviting without being mushy. //Overall: We will be back. And we look forward to trying additional items on the menu. The chef clearly understands that great food can be simple and still exciting. Every dish came with a solid texture and flavor profile that is clearly intentional. Nice warm atmosphere to the restaurant. Server was very well trained & attentive. Presentation was nice. The small plate starters were excellent & made me excited for the main course. The bread was warm, crusty, & delicious & the Fried Green Tomatoes on sorghum were perfectly cooked & flavourful. The entrées on the other hand seemed overly complicated with the flavours mashed together unnecessarily. Shrimp & Grits - Shrimp were perfectly cooked & very fresh. The cheddar grits were not very cheesy with a strange combination of sharp chives, pickles tomatoes, & fresh corn leaving you confused as to flavours precedence. Duck Tagliatelle - Creamy but the duck was dry & the pasta tasted as if it had been over cooked & then left under a heat lamp till it picked up a rubbery texture. Desserts Sweet Potato Pie - Crust was very thick & seemed under cooked with small layer of actual filling. Banana Bread - very very dry I recognize that this restaurant is brand new & is still experiencing growing pains. I give them a lot of credit for attempting to bring some fine cuisine to Clermont & I will definitely try them again once they've had some more time to settle.
