My husband flew me out to Houston to celebrate my 45th birthday. He was excited to bring me to the Roots wine bar as he knows I love a good wine. I really enjoyed the set up and ambiance of this establishment! Tons of wine options to choose from-- all were delicious at a great price! We visited on a cooler night so we opted to dine indoors. Overall it was a great experience and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Went on a wine bus tour with my group HTX Honeys last weekend and Roots was one of our stops. It is such a neat place and concept. You give them your debit/credit card upon entry and they give you a white card that keeps track of all your pours from the over 50 bottles they have on tap. This is a very economical way to try new wines before you buy them. With a one oz pour starting at as little as $1.50. So looking forward to hosting our HTX Honeys holiday party here in a couple weeks! Mr.Gary, the owners husband was very accommodating and helped me set my party up.
Love this concept of pour your own! This is sucks beautiful intimate setting that remains casual enough to hang out with friends. They have a good menu as well, and a wide category of wine available. There are options to purchase bottle of things you liked. Very cute. Roots will be worked into my wine bar rotation
A bit in the middle of nowhere / residential area but such a cute wine tasting spot! The inside is nicely decorated but we sat outside since we had our dogs with us. It's a fun concept where you get a card and choose wines as you go along. They have a nice selection of whites, red, roses and even some orange from all over the country and internationally as well. You insert your card, select the wine pour size and then hit the button to pour the wine into a glass. The prices are varied depending on type of wine and the size of pour. Really great choose your own adventure in a relaxed environment. The store employee was also super helpful in explaining things
Been to this place once before around 2021, and I will say I still enjoy the experience of self pour wine with a wide variety of options. Ambiance was quiet. Staff were friendly. I tried the seasonal crawfish pasta which I didn't enjoy so much. Too salty and not enough flavor. It had so much potential to be better, and to be honest this was the main reason I came on this visit. Otherwise I had the Brussel sprouts which were good. I'd still come back.
If I'm thinking about wine, I'm thinking about Roots. They're not just one of my favorite places to imbibe, but also one of my preferred places to grab a bite. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, immense selection for wine-os and a stellar food program. Whether it's a self-dine, date night, or group affair, I find that there's always a good reason to come here. It has become one of the best establishments in EaDo. It all starts with a charge card. Folks can load up cards at the front and insert them along the wall of wine for small / medium / large pours of regional wines. I am probably wrong, but I still have yet to find a place in the Houston area that does this. (#1) There is no pressure to buy bottles here, just sip away at your heart's content by trying everything from Willamette to Napa, from France to South Africa. Their open seating means this is one of the most group friendly places in the city. They have a ton of outdoor space with the tables and chairs to boot, along with a simple, yet industrial interior with AC (#2). There is also a private room area that is practically sound proof and has its own unique dining table complete with its own soundtrack. It's a cool departure from the rest of the establishment. No one talks about the food enough. Their plates are mainly tapas style, but there are some stellar selections if one plays their cards right. Their phyllo shrimp is strangely addicting and burrata is well executed. The juicy lucy burger seems like a standard entré but I was surprised at how juicy the burger actually was. The crab mac and cheese is always going to be a hit, even if the portion is conservative for such an indulgent dish. Many folks will order the cheeseboard since this is a wine spot after all, but I would recommend the calamari for an added savory option. I think what really sets them apart is the service. Garrett is constantly busting his butt to make sure folks are happy and is seen practically everywhere from the kitchen to the front patio. Eric is the man in the kitchen, who definitely knows how to whip up a mean dish. The irony of a place that offers self-serve wine offering top notch customer service is not lost on me. Parking is all street and I've not had issues finding it. This is a (almost too) quiet part of town, but I'd certainly want a place like Roots in my neighborhood. ___________ (#1) And if they do, I doubt it's nearly as well. (#2) Thank you, AC gods.
I've been to Roots twice and both times have been great. The first was for a Yelp Elite Event so coming back the second time, I was curious to see how my experience would compare. The self serve wine taps are really cool. It's easy to get carried away sampling all the different wines. Wines can be dispensed in 1, 3, or 5 ounce pours. According to the website the wine offerings change weekly. They also have cider and beer. It's really cool that they feature wines from Texas wineries as well as women owned/operated wineries. On my first visit, I tried Mead for the first time and ended up buying a bottle of it because I really enjoyed it. The second visit, I ended up having two glasses of a Picpoul Blanc. I wanted a bottle but it was a bit pricey. They have so many wine options for every palate. The staff is more than willing to help or provide suggestions if you don't know where to begin. We ordered food from the happy hour menu: Patatas Bravas - These were really good! I liked the seasoning and the sauce that came with it. Wagyu Beef Tartare - Absolutely amazing! I was able to tolerate the texture since it came with crispy chips. The flavors were so good! I've only had beef tartare twice, but this was definitely my favorite one that I've tried so far. Salmon Ceviche - The texture was a bit too chewy for me, however the flavors were really good! Calamari - I don't like calamari so I didn't have any, but the presentation was nice. Everyone in the group who did eat it really enjoyed it. I love the neighborhood feel of Roots. They have a small patio out front and to the side of the restaurant. Parking is on the street in front of the building and on the side streets in the neighborhood. If you buy a bottle of wine, you get a 20% discount. You can also sign up for their wine club for additional perks and discounts. This is a great spot for wine lovers or those who want to try a variety of wines!
If you are somebody that is expecting good wine this is not the place for you. This place is basically set up so you can serve your own wine and there are different sizes to the amount of wine that you get. I think the concept is very good, however, I believe the wine quality needs to be better. It is still in the underdeveloped area of downtown that I'm sure will explode in the next few years. This place has potential but not right now. The patatas bravas were amazing.
I like wine but I'm not a connoisseur. I came for date night and like being able to try a selection of wines that I wouldn't normally get. You pay by the glass. Cost varies by type of wine and number of ounces. I used it as a wine tasting experience, having mostly only purchased at the 3oz price point. My date and I only racked up $25 in drinks between the two of us so I'd say it was a pretty good experience. I didn't try any food but that was available to order. We came on a Sunday so there was enough parking but I'd hate to imagine what parking looks like at peak hours. Staff was friendly and restaurant was clean. Overall I enjoyed it and would return.
Uhhhh I have to say the reviews deceived me about Roots :/. Maybe it was who I came with but I was not wowed at all. We got there around 8pm on a Tuesday evening and it was one other party in there. When you check in, you have to give your credit card and you receive a card that allows you to purchase glasses of wine. They have different pours at different prizes and an assortment ranging from red to white to select from. The red I tried was decent but I didn't care too much for it. I ordered the potato bravas and salmon cheviche, and both were decent as well. I'll give this spot another try but with better company. At least there's street parking so that's one less hassle.
I absolutely loved and enjoyed my time here! I literally almost spent 5 hours at the place because the vibes are immaculate and the foods were delicious. Shout out to the manager for her great service and all of the staff for being so kind and friendly. Also thanks for Gary for all of his help!
The concept of this wine bar is pretty cool and unique. Their prices are higher than if you purchased a glass of wine at an average restaurant. At the check-in counter, you are given a chip card which you use at any wine section where there is a slot and it will save each wine and serving you selected. You can pick any 3 serving sizes per wine and use a new glass per wine if you want. Love the decor although I'm not sure why they chose to put white faux fur on all the outdoor seats. I like how they have tree branches with light fixtures hanging from the ceiling. The wines appear to range from sweet to semi-sweet to dry from left to right. The sweetest is a dessert wine (farthest left). It's called Chateau Haut-Mayne. Dessert wine - 5/5 (i've tasted sweeter dessert wines but this is a good amount of sweetness) All other wines I tasted, 0/5. I don't like dry wines at all. I do like semi-sweet wines but it really depends. None of their semi-sweet wines impressed me. French toast sticks - They tasted good. You can order a side of eggs or bacon to go with it. 4.5/5 Biscuit and chicken strips - The biscuit was dry and the fried chicken needed more flavor. If it had some flavor/spice to it, it would have been perfect. 1/5 The service was good. They clear your table of wine glasses pretty fast. They also refill the wine bottles fairly quickly. Music is played quietly in background. During brunch hours on a Saturday afternoon, it isn't busy. They have a private room with a bluetooth speaker and it seats about 10-12 people I believe. You don't need to take a trip to Fredericksburg to find great local wine. Roots has you covered. They make it easy to create your own DIY wine tasting with a check in card, and 3 tasting options (around 1/4 glass, 1/2 glass or 3/4 glass options. See picture attached) per wine option. If you find a favorite they often have retail bottles you can purchase before you leave, and the staff is amazing. The food has improved since my first visit *the patatas bravado were consistently amazing *the fried oysters were chewy on my first visit, but perfect on my next two *the butter noodles came in 3rd place compared to the other two Although I crave a menu expansion & gift cards, Overall this spot is solid! read more

This was first time trying a wine tasting bar and I heavily enjoyed this. Roots has a wide selection of wines that you can choose from. You can choose your own pour and if you like the wine selected, get a fuller pour. I sampled a couple because I'm not a wine connoisseur but the few I selected were great! The staff was helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was amazing. You can park on the street in front of the building. I will definitely be back to make Roots a date nite! read more

The salad!!! OMG so delicious. The creative concept put into this place was refreshing. You go to the front desk and they give you a wine card. You can sample as many wines as you'd like by inserting your card under your selection. I kinda wish you didn't have to go back up to the front desk to order your food, but it wasn't a big issue. The ambiance is a nice open concept with plenty of small tables. It's easy to leave this place with a nice lil buzz. read more
This could be one of Houston's best happy hours. The beef tartare and cheese with honey selections were delicious. But the wine pours at happy hour? Extremely generous. The self serve wine bar brings to mind the late Shoot the Moon in the best of ways. It got packed immediately after happy hour. We will absolutely return. read more

Super cute date spot for friends & partners. When you walk in the cashiers will explain how the wine cards work. They do keep your payment card & check you out at the end once you're done with your visit. You do return the wine card. Food is also ordered like counter service. All of the food we got was delicious! The concept is so fun & allows you to sample a variety of wines before you commit to a bigger pour. The taster is 1oz, & then there's the 3oz & 6oz pours. They do have description cards above the station so that you have an idea of what you're getting & the price of each pour. It can get pricey. - PATATAS BRAVAS ($12): chorizo-tomato marmilade coated potatoes that were so flavorful. The sauce did have a bbq flavor to it. The manchego fondue had an interesting foamy consistency. Loved the crushed marcona almond on top that added a nice crunch. - FRIED OYSTERS ($15): the peppadew relish was tangy & paired very well with the cornmeal-crusted oysters. Presentation-wise it was a pleasing dish - SNAPPER ($26): the brown butter the fish lay on was so rich. I could have added that to everything. The fish was so tender & soft. The caper puree on the side of the bowl didn't really do anything for me. I've been to Roots a couple of times now and enjoyed myself each time. Huge wine selection to choose from. You use a special card to access the wine, and all the charges get added to the card. Food was good, but there are only a few options. I was sad to hear that the tacos are no longer on the menu. I got the burger, which was pretty good! And the roasted potatoes were even better. Ambiance and service were okay. I loved how there were so many plants. read more

Visited Roots wine bar on Monday to catch up with a friend. It is such a VIBE! And what do I mean by that you ask? To start, they have outdoor seating prior to walking in the building. Once you step inside, the ambiance is wonderful. I'm no interior designer, but I'd call it a modern rustic decor. The staff person at the front checks your ID and gives you a card to use at the pour stations. Their wine is encased and goes from lighter/dessert wines to more full-bodied (left to right). Three prices indicate the ounces per pour. There is also a kitchen and my friend and I tried the fried oysters, brussel sprouts, and dumplings. Huge fan of the first two. Back to Roots being a vibe, it was the playlist for me! Southern old school hip-hop--OutKast, Trick Daddy, perfect background music for the wine. I am biased though because it's one of my favorite genres of music! I will note, they go through wine pretty quickly so if you find a fave, likely it won't be there the next time. They do small batch wine. Also there is street parking and they have a small parking lot off to the side of the building. All in all, great place to come with friends, date night, or solo! read more
Honestly did not love it. After seeing the gorgeous outdoor seating posted all over Instagram, I had been dying to try Roots ever since it opened. The concept is fairly simple - open a tab at the counter and scan your punch card for whichever wine and size pour you want. The prices are listed on the dispenser. Maybe I do not know enough about wine but I found it hard to select something that I wanted. They have tasting note description cards posted but somehow milling around with all the other guests deciding between a cherry finish or something that pairs well with fish was not my favorite. Sure, the model allows you to try many different wines if you so desire but having to get up from your table multiple times to get a new glass changes the experience of a laid back wine bar. One other thing to note is that they do offer wine by the bottle, however from the prices listed, it seems like these run around $59 or more each. Overall the atmosphere is very nice - lots of outdoor seating and an intimate alley way with string lights and small tables. The waitstaff were all very friendly and helpful but I don't think the concept is for me. I'm willing to give it another shot to try the food but it's not at the top of my list for drinks. read more
I absolutely love this wine bar. A new age feel of an array of self served wines. You are your own bartender. Make sure to go to the front counter where there will be someone who will help give you instructions on how their process works. I promise it's definitely something new and fun to try! What we ate: *Caramelized Brussels Sprouts- okay but a little too vinegar-y for me. Still ate them nonetheless. *Patatas Bravas- AMAZING.. order it *Amberjack Ricotta Dumplings- super different taste but loved the flavor. If you're weird about texture do not order. -Dessert - Foie Gras PB&J- SUPER different but had such a unique lively flavor. I ENJOYED IT. You need to make sure you evenly eat everything with each bite. Beautiful esthetic with amazing trendy vibe. Perfect for a date night if you want to enjoy some small plates and wines. I love the idea and the fact you can try different wines with the option of choosing just a taste. Will definitely come back with friends..However, prepare to spend a pretty penny for the experience. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. I'll start off by saying that I absolutely loved this concept! You come in and they give you a card that you use to release the wine of your choice from the dispensers. When you choose a wine you can choose either a taster, half pour, or full pour. I love this because you go at your own pace and don't have to wait for a waiter. There is staff always around to help you navigate if you are a first timer. My family and I really enjoyed our time here and we all fell in love with the place. Thank you to the staff for being helpful, friendly, and very knowledgeable on all the wines. We also had some queso and tacos to snack on that were amazing! I've already told all my friends about this spot and cannot wait to go back. read more
Wow! What a cute spot! Perfect for date night or girls night. The concept is unique and something I have never experienced before. Upon entering, you go to the cashier to add your credit card to a tab which connects to a wine card that they give you. You then walk to the side of the restaurant where there are tons of wine options to choose from. You can select the amount of wine you want and they even have an option to taste test the wine before committing to a serving portion. You place your wine card in and select your wine. We sat outside which was perfect for the beautiful weather that night. The food menu isn't a lot but what we ordered was really good. I got the oysters and I wanted to order more. Roots was an excellent experience! You connect your tab to a "wine card" and self pour by the ounce. The wine bottles were generally very expensive but I loved that I was able to have just a taste of so many of them! Very cute rustic but modern interior and cool ambiance. There was a patio too that would be great for nice weather. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was ok, I prefer my foods spicier. Would definitely go back here but just to drink. read more

Cute concept and location. Lots of wines to choose from at different price points. Brunch menu was limited but the chicken and biscuits was good. Needed 1 more sauce to be better. Its all counter service to order food and get the wine card. I wish the man at the counter had more help. He was taking orders, delivering food and explaining the concept. It wasn't extremely busy but had a steady crowd and 2 large parties when i went. read more

So...anyone who reads my Yelp reviews knows that I am going to give you the good, the bad and the ugly. I believe in giving credit where credit is due and sharing stories when some fall short. Well...I don't even know where to begin with this place. One - one of the best wine bars I have ever been to. I am from the land of wine in the US...California. We have wineries EVERYWHERE! Roots is amazing. I love that you can do 1, 3 or 5 ounce pours. There are SO MANY wines to choose from so 1 ounce for me was perfect...except I LOVED one wine so much I kept going back! For the most part, I am a red wine lover. But their Zero Infinito from Italy, unfiltered, was outstanding. I also am not a champagne drinker. Don't care for it. But Zero Infinito has natural bubbly and it was perfect! Not too much. When I turned around, we had food on the table! A couple from our group are well-versed in all things Roots. The food was outstanding. You have two chefs who were trained at CIA in New York. Their salad with the crispy chilis was one of the best salads I have ever had. Just the right amount of spice. I wish I could bring this back to California! It is truly one of my favorite salads ever. Their burger...fugeddaboudit! Delicious! The bread with seasoned cream cheese (capers?) and lox...who needs a bagel!? And the steak with peppers and eggs...literally I can't say enough about their food. A WINE bar with great food!? You just don't find these often where I am from. I already asked the owner if she wanted to bring this out west...Roots would kill it out there! I hope y'all visit Roots. Not only are the wine and food outstanding...but they truly are so friendly there. They will assist you with choosing what wines you may like, they have little cards with all the wine notes above the pours. I hope you love Roots as much as I did! Really cool concept with self serve wine bar on tap! Large selection of wines that you can pour by size. Came here during happy hour and it was packed with open seating, so come early. Loved the ambience of the private space in the back! Limited food options for HH, but highly recommend the Patatas bravas. read more

Love this spot! The wine on tap idea is so cute. It allows you to try a lot of different wines and the wine cards even tell you what food items on the menu the wines would pair best with. I recently visited Roots while on a trip to Houston and was pleasantly surprised by the experience! Upon arrival, we were given the rundown of how everything worked and put a credit card on file to obtain a card to be used for the wine machines. The cards have a chip and you insert them into the applicable machine in order to select your desired wine/ size of pour. There was a good selection of wine to choose from. I feel as though everyone could likely find some great options in here however there was a larger selection of white and rose wines (which I love so no complaints here!) They did have a food menu, albeit small. There were not many food options to keep you going throughout the experience. We ended up ordering a few cheese options which were $8 each and came with a sauce of sorts and crackers. Though $8 per cheese option seemed steep, the cheese was delicious and worth it. It would have been great to have the option of water crackers, pretzels, snack mix, or something of the sort while drinking. The service was outstanding. Everyone was attentive and seemed to genuinely enjoy what they do. It seems as though great service can be hard to find these days and every person we encountered here had a great attitude which was contagious throughout the space. I even enjoyed overhearing one guy explain to his co-worker how the bottle should be placed for a party and the significance of it. I love seeing people teach others. This would be a great place to stop by for a unique date night. Especially a date early on when you're getting to know each other because discussing the different wines would be a great ice breaker to keep it from being too awkward. It would also be a great place for a party, family gathering, casual get together, etc.. I also really enjoyed how diverse the customer base was. Came her for a birthday celebration- A but unorganized for my liking. We had a party of about 15 people- however a reservation was made. The manager acknowledged the issue, and explained the process to everyone. They brought out a round of water, and extra seating in the private room! I might return to try the food. read more
Came back for the fish today! Last Sat. met with friends and their pups - dined outside for 3+ hrs relaxing and catching up. Loved the grouper last time and returned for it again. Included the patatas and gold rice. Sipping on the rieslings/gewurztraminer. Delicious! I really wish they offered charcuterie boards to the menu it would be 5* if they did. read more

If you haven't been here, then you must be living under a rock! If you are just beginning your wine journey or are a wine connoisseur you NEED to be here! The atmosphere is a whole vibe; very relaxing and laid back for couples or a crowd. I love the concept; a variety of wines from sweet to dry and in between! The food is ahhhhhhmazing and I love the staff, especially AXL who is always welcoming, always smiling, and recommends the best wines!!!!!!! He is a hoot and cracks me up every time I visit! I've been at least 7 times within a month and AXL greets me at the door with a smile. I'll definitely be back, sooner than later! read more

Easily one of the best new additions to the Houston libations scene. I have come here for multiple times for all kinds of occasions. Whether it's for HH or Wine Tastings or a birthday party in the private room, I have always had an amazing time. An amazing wine selection with the self dispensing makes for a fun interactive time. Or if beer is your thing you won't be disappointed with their selection of local and Texas beers The staff are some of the most friendly and helpful people I have ever met. And the food is so ridiculous you shouldn't pass it up. Definitely try the tacos! If you haven't hit this new EaDo spot then you need too! For sure one of my new go to spots read more
Came here for a girls night and spent 6 hours just chatting on the front patio. They've got plenty of room and there's tons of street parking out front. Wine- great selection but it's a bit pricey for small 3oz pours. The concept of wine on tap is very convenient though and you can sample easily before you make your selection. Food- my favorite is the Patatas Bravas and the Chicken Ballotine. The chicken is super moist and the pea purée pairs well. We ended up getting 2 orders of the Patatas Bravas because the first one was so delicious! Love the manchego fondue. The roasted beet salad is a nice fresh starter. The fish dumplings and oysters were alright but a bit too salty. Red snapper was a bit too well done but flavor was great. You can't go wrong ordering the Brussels sprouts but again it was just a bit too salty. Overall would love to come back even if it's just for drinks because it's a cute convenient spot to meet up. Would love for them to expand their menu because the chef has good taste! read more

Loveeee this spot for a cute date night or a special occasion. The concept is really unique and great to try out new wines / figure out what types of wine you like. You get a card and swipe to pay for each self-serve wine. They had soooo many options on tap. It was so fun to try out different wines and compare them with my friends! We also ordered food which was delicious. I would recommend getting the patatas bravas and the dutch baby. really well made and the flavors were spot on. Although this place is definitely pricey, I think it's worthwhile to check out! read more

Myself (and every other EaDo resident) has been anticipating the opening of Roots Wine Bar! It's been under construction for what feels like yearsssss. And it was well worth the wait! // Wine. Wine and more wine! You had me at wine bar, but the self-pour system is not only super convenient but probably the safest way to enjoy vino in a pandemic. Here's how it works: you receive a "wine card" upon entry and use it to purchase pours from the automated wine dispensing machines. You can try a 1-5 oz pours at varying price points. Brilliant! The full bottles seemed a little more expensive ($50+), but I predict happy hour specials in the future! // Ambiance Roots is swanky but not pretentious. Distinguished yet unassuming. There's a small outdoor patio, and what appears to be a private room for about 10. // Food My inaugural visit didn't include food (we had just come off that crazzzzy winter storm and staff was limited). But after looking through the menu, I can't wait to try the brussel sprouts! Overall, this is EXACTLY what the neighborhood needed. Feels like I'll be here extremely often. read more
I've been wanting to come here ever since seeing their cute tagged posts on IG when they opened and was finally able to do that 3/19/21 when my godsisters were in town. There are both indoor and outdoor seating which make for great options for those concerned with sitting inside for whatever reason. However, keep in mind that during those windy days, the tables situated on the side of the building tend to turn into some sort of wind tunnel, and it gets extremely chilly and windy there. We definitely had to move cause we didn't want to experience a peek-a-boo Marilyn Monroe moment. This wine bar has SO many options! If you aren't into wine (which then I ask why you here buddy?), they do have other options like beer, cider, and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from. I will say though that when I was there, their wines in rotation tended to run more dry than anything. If you wanted something more on the sweet side, you'll have to probably stay more on the left side of the bar as those are the "sweeter" wine options. We had also tried some of the plates they had. They're on the smaller side but still shareable for two people. We had gotten the fried oysters and the brussels sprouts. Both were pretty good though a bit salty for my tastes, but it did pair well with the wines we were having. Staff were also a great help and walked us through the process on how to work on dispensing the wine so that you don't get it everywhere. The Root is a nice new wine bar in the neighborhood. Unfortunately I'm pregnant and although they service nonalcoholic wine it was not the same experience drinking...no tap experience for me. Excellent experience overall. We tried a lot of the food, and everything was good! The least favorite of the tacos was the pasta, surprisingly! Brussel sprouts, oysters, and the dessert were the fan favorites! We arrived around 4:30 on a Friday and it wasn't busy, but but 8:00 it was packed and there wasn't an empty seat anywhere. The outside area is very nice! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great addition to the area! read more
Ohhhhh my Gawd!!! What an amazing little wine bar. I was treated to this experience by my daughter. Let me tell you! I tried Salmon Ceviche for the first time, and it was delicious!!! I also tried Grouper fish for the first time, and it was also delicious!!! A bit salty for me, but I didn't send it back... Tried the potatoes with I think some bacon jelly sauce...amazing! Now...the wine tasting was so fun! You pour yourself, after getting a tab card. You can sample till your hears content. Found a few favorites I like. Service of the food was quick, and dishes don't sit on your table longer than a minute or so. You have to watch that, cause you'll end up drinking more than you think. The ambiance is very relaxed and cozy also. A very nice spot to just chill with a great play list. This is a must return again spot, like tomorrow!!!Mobility wise, not bad. A wheelchair can maneuver her with minor adjustments. Sadly, they were closing the patio before I was able to take a picture. But the patio had cozy covers in the chairs and also had heaters. Finally a self-serve bar in Houston. Tried one in Italy 15 years ago and waited until the concept caught on in the US. The star for me was not so much the wine but the surprising delicious food! Wow, the Brussels sprouts killed it as did the fried oysters, and the crawfish stew. They do need a cheese assortment though, it is wine bar after all. The wine tasting is super fun and allows you to select something you'll like before committing to a full glass. A bit pricey though. read more
This place is such a "girl's girl" vibe! It's chill and quaint. Such a unique experience with a cool selection of wines, I had everything from an orange to jalapeño wine!! I went for brunch and the food was very tasty! The portions aren't the largest but the food is still hearty. The host was warm and funny! The entire staff was hospitable and I'll definitely be returning! read more

We do not, but can accommodate parties of 8 or more.

They did not have a happy hour when I went last week, but they're changing things all the time... so maybe they'll start a happy hour soon. Fingers crossed!
