First time trying RoRo's today and I got the chicken kebab plate, it's was delicious and I will definitely be back to try some more. I believe the plate came out to around $16, the portions were good. Rice was plump, hummus was rich and kinda smoky, the chicken was great and the service was very chill. I've been coming to this hole in the wall for over 3 years now. Has some of the best Mediterranean food in town. I always get the Chicken Breast or the Shawarma. I love the rice, salad, and garlic cup along with the pita bread and hummus for such an affordable price. I continue to come here since I like supporting local businesses and I feel like I'd be considered a regular and they are always friendly when I come in and have a conversation. Definitely doing my best to support these guys during the COVID shut down since I would rather have these guys than the other competition in town! read more

Ro Ro's what happened to you?? It's been a couple years since I last ate here but used to love it! My husband and I were both totally disappointed by how terrible the quality of food is now. Chicken was dry. Falafel was like a brown ginger sponge cake on the inside, did not taste fresh at all. Last I checked falafel is supposed to be green on the inside by the way. Salad was way over dressed and browning. French fries taste under cooked and freezer burned. Baklava tasted stale and under done. Save yourself a whack dinner and try one of the other similar restaurants nearby. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!! It's one of my favorite food joint in the city. The flavor is unique. Their garlic sauce is BEYOND and their chicken flavor is extremely tasty. Also, their attention is fantastic, they serve fast and they have so many options that you can eat so many delicious things. Their hummus and pita bread is fantastic as well. Love the chicken shawarma this place offers. Very authentic tasting sandwich. Not over stuffed. Just the right amount of chicken, garlic sauce, turnips, and other toppings. You won't be disappointed by order this must try item on the list. Other good options are the beef shawarma sandwich and taboule salad. Very decent. But the chicken shawarma sandwich is so delicious that never order anything else. I get two of them since they are not huge so if you're very hungry, two is the way to go. The garlic sauce is creamy and obviously garlicky but not too much. Not overwhelming where you dont taste anything else.. Service is quick, efficient and prices are decent. 5 stars because it's so freaking cheap. Tastes like zankou, priced like a mom n pop. I met RoRo's by necessity. Made a long walk to go grab lunch from the Thai spot next door when I realized I left my wallet at the office. With $7 in my pocket, I saw a sign for $3 chicken sandwiches, went inside the shop and said screw it might as well just grab two. It's a whole pita stuffed w shredded chicken, lettuce, tomato, and that godly garlic sauce they have at every great chicken shop. So simple, so good, and probably one of the best foods you can buy for just $3 in all of LA. Ever since then, I go and eat there out of sentiment for holding me down when I was screwed on money, but their food is honestly just really good, especially at the price point. Their rotisserie chicken is crazy. The skin doesn't get sticky like most other places. It's just straight crispy awesomeness. Really, really good Mediterranean...but no Skaff. Once you get a favorite place for this type of food - you should probably just stick to it. What I will mention about Ro Ro's is that their prices are RIDICULOUSLY good. A whole chicken is like $12. That's crazy. The lamb kebab and beef kebab were delicious. Perfectly tender and seasoned to perfection. The pita could have been fresher. The hummus was very good and the rice was on point. The falafel almost had a sweet, cinnamon accent to it. Have you ever walked into a place and had such a disturbing experience that it left you in complete and utter shock for longer than it should? RoRo's left me in this state, and here's why... I ordered chicken with fries and was told that "everything on the menu comes with fries". Perfect, order done! While waiting, the guy taking these orders was a bit rude. There was an older man (about 70') from Iran who barely spoke English and while struggling with his order, this "dude" kept ignoring him and just asked for a"credit card or cash" numerous times. Meanwhile, I get my order and noticed he gave me rice instead of fries. "Hey, you served me rice and I asked for fries." he replied "thats what's on the menu." I laughed and said "yeah but I asked for chicken and fries." With an attitude he replies, "well that will be an extra 2 dollars." As I explain to him that "I didn't ask for rice," he ignores me and takes the next customer! And he proceed to tell her, in Spanish, "people don't know how to speak when they place an orders!" Little does he know I I speak Spanish, so I replied (in Spanish) "I don't know how to do what? Excuse me, but your customer service sucks and I just watched you mistreat that old man right before my eyes!" Then the owners comes out from the back with a handout menu and says "he didn't hear you right, but the chicken comes with rice" I said, "If he had told me this when I ordered, I wouldn't have ordered it. I asked for chicken and fries!" The owner says "that will be more 2 dollars." I pulled my credit card and handed over. While he was about to charge me I told him I don't care about the extra 2 dollars, but your employees customer service sucks and I won't come here ever again. I first tried this place when my boss shared her chicken breast plate with me. It was huge and satisfied both of us. The chicken was juicy and perfect and came with some kind of addictive and absolutely divine garlic butter. The hummus here is also really tasty, and is definitely a must if you got pita bread too. You can even order a little tub of it, if you want to keep some in your fridge for later as well. I come here regularly now for my personal favorite item, the Greek salad. There is such a great combination of items in it, the feta, the onions, the herbs, the delicious dressing, and the excellent amount of kalamatas. I usually ask for To Go and an extra dressing on the side, and they don't mind at all. There's an interesting looking value menu on the front of the door that seems to have some really good deals, though I've yet to try any of them yet. Staff here is consistently welcoming , in an almost close-knit town kind of way. They remember you and greet you warmly when you come in. The owner will even greet and check on your personally sometimes as well. Just make sure you don't come during lunch prime hours, because it's a zoo in that whole complex. I ordered the chicken shawarma meal, which comes, with fries and a canned drink. Upon reading reviews about this meal, I couldn't wait to try the food. Yelp reviews said that the fries were to die for and the shawarma was the best they've ever had. Unfortunately, I beg to differ as the fries were cold and the chicken tasted old. I'm not sure, if this was because we're currently in an unprecedented situation, where business is not as busy (as usual) - which means, that, they don't go through the meat and ingredients fast enough. I was already in the parking lot. I picked it up hoping for the best. I went home and the falafel was cold, hard and definitely not fresh. It was so cold I had to unwrap the sandwich to heat it in a pan at home. Not only was it hard and cold likely from much earlier in the day... it was also broken pieces of falafel that they couldn't put in falafel plates. The food came within 30 minutes. Now on to the food...it was DELICIOUS!!!!! We had the #4 Chicken Shwarma and #5 Chicken Breast. Both were juicy and the flavor was awesome, I loved them both equally.Each plate came with rice, hummus, salad, pita bread and garlic sauce. I've actually eaten here a few times but now that I've did a lifestyle change in terms of my diet, I'm a little more limited as to what I can have. I stopped by here over the weekend to grab a quick bite for dinner and just wanted some rotisserie chicken and a salad for sides. They had a 1/4 chicken plate that came with rice, salad and some hummus which looked decent enough except I wanted to have double salad and no rice to limit my carbohydrate intake. The guy at the counter said they would have to charge me an extra $1.50 to do that. I was a little perturbed and asked why since it's just more lettuce and he said the "owner knows his prices". I reluctantly agreed and went ahead and ordered the plate. The chicken was tasty enough but not as moist as other places serving similar cuisine. I saw one of the guys take down a whole chicken off the rotisserie skewer and cut me my 1/4 piece. The rice was white rice pilaf and I had asked before and they don't serve brown rice at all. The salad was a small quantity that was mostly iceberg lettuce with some pickled radish and tomatoes doused with some dressing. They also gave me a pita bread which went well with my creamy hummus. Well, I was a little put off that they weren't willing to switch out the rice for more salad since everywhere else I've eaten such as Joe's Falafel in Studio City, Chicken Maison and Chicken Dijon in Torrance, Chicken Dijon and Al Wazir in Hollywood, all allowed me to switch out the rice for extra salad with out charging more for the request. They are all located in better areas too with a nicer interior AND the other eatiers all have restroom facilities so you got to know that the owner at Ro Ro's is just being super greedy since the value just isn't right for what you get. The half chicken plates are about $10 which is actually slightly more than those that are located in better areas and provide restroom facilities and healthier good choices. Based on my 1/4 chicken plate, they also give you less quantity for the sides. Sorry, but I will give one star for the chicken and another star for the friendly service but that's about it. I would recommend everyone go eat at another place until this restaurant decides to do the right thing. If the owner wants to let me know they've amended their ridiculous policy by sending me a comment on Yelp, then I can investigate and perhaps see about improving the rating but for now, 2 Stars and the recommendation to eat elsewhere. read more

Here was a textbook use of the Yelp app: We're in Hollywood looking for a quick, cheap lunch; we filter by "$" and sort by distance; find Ro Ro's near the top with a four-star average over 200+ reviews; scan the review highlights and quick tips--including raves about the chicken shawarma. Done. And those Yelpers were right about the chicken shawarma--it was phenomenal! Tender, moist, and very flavorful, with a great caramelized taste on some pieces from the spit. With the exception of the falafel (greasy, airy, and bland), the rest of the food was also fantastic: awesome hummus, chewy pita bread to scoop it with, potent garlic paste in a little cup, pickled radishes on the side. Even the little iceberg-and-tomato salad was elevated by the simple but delicious dressing. In short, I devoured a plate of 100% excellent food (the falafel was my wife's) for nine bucks, inside of thirty minutes from pulling the phone out of my pocket. Couldn't be happier. I'm not a good judge of character in terms of what's a good Middle Eastern food. However I was craving for it one night after a long winded meetings that seem to last forever. I thought it was a good treat to grab a shawerma and maybe a chicken from Zankou Chicken down the street in Sunset Blvd. As I was turning around the corner and hitting down the street, this place caught my eye with a search in my brain on why this place sound so familiar to me. Then it hit me in an instant that this was one of my earliest bookmarked places I had always wanted to try out, so I decided at the spur of moment at taking a shot at this place. In a bit of a warning, the parking in this mini strip mall will be loitered by the homeless at night. So be a little bit careful coming in during night time as I was inundated with request of "if I can help them out". I looked inside the little restaurant as it was pretty empty at the time I was there. Maybe people likes to order take-out? or maybe this restaurant do more business in deliveries? I was going to do a take out anyways and needed to go home as soon as I can. I decided to get their Shawerma sandwich and that thing was delicious! I only have a few experience to compared with. Obviously only can go with Zankou and also the little known Falafel Arax up in Santa Monica Monica Blvd as the measure of comparison, which stacked up well against these two places. For me, the Shawerma is better than a fajita. It's almost like a panini sandwich wrap around the strips of beef filet. Awesome taste that I wish I had ordered more of it at that time. Let me preface this with: I'm vegan! I came to RoRo's Chicken to pick up a Postmates order that I was delivering. The food wasn't ready when I arrived, so I sat down for a few minutes to wait. Initially, I looked around and thought that this wasn't a place for me. However, the employees started chatting with me and asked if I had ever eaten there. I told them that I hadn't because I was vegan, and to my surprise they have vegan and vegetarian options! Sadly... I have to detract stars from my once beloved shawarma place. Sure it's still tasty, but after experiencing LIFE CHANGING shawarma the other day in Studio City... I can no longer give RoRo's 5 stars. The shawarma here is still tasty, but, it's a little too garlicky as is the hummus... I was tasting it for the rest of the day. Also, my fiancé, who never was a fan of this place, got the beef shawarma, I tried a tiny bite, and it just seemed dry. I need to take him to my new found favorite so he can once again claim his love for the stuff. This all being said- the staff at RoRo's is AMAZING, and the traffic to this place is incredible! It's ALWAYS so busy in here! Oh that brings me to something else I'm not a HUGE FAN OF... I ordered my chicken shawarma plate first, they constructed it, and then put it at the table I was to sit at with the others I was with, yeti wasn't even there yet... The hummus is also one of the top I've tried. The chicken shawarma is delish too. I've never tried the other dishes. Only complaint I have is sometimes , just a very few times the chicken was a bit dry but you can't be perfect of the time. The portions are large for me; I always eat half of the chicken kebab plate, yet feel very stuffed. If you're looking for a smaller meal, check out their mini plates for about $5-6. At the counter, you pay upfront and then go find a table. I feel like the employees spend a normal amount of time preparing the food. I've seen the owner interact with some of the regulars, and he also seems nice. He once casually offered me tortilla chips from a huge party bag (to go with the hummus)! For parking, they have a small parking lot for the entire plaza they are in. It shouldn't be too hard to find a space on a weeknight though. There was actually a lot for Hollywood the last time I went on a Wednesday at around 6:30pm. Credit cards minimum $10. PLATES ORDERED: - Chicken kebab ($10.86). The two skewers of lemony chicken chunks are juicy. While they have a nice char without tasting burnt, the seasoning is a little one-note. This doesn't detract from the dish, but note that the meats do get harder about an hour later because they are served piping hot off the grill. Each plate comes with 2 sticks of pickled radish, romaine side salad, hummus, 2 round slices of pita bread, rice, and garlic dipping sauce. I actually really like the romaine salad with a sprinkling of diced tomato, topped by a sour and creamy-yet-watery dressing. The hummus is sooo creamy and has good flavor, but it has slightly too much tahini taste for me. It's served with better-than-standard pita bread, which stays relatively soft even after refrigeration. I also appreciate the smooth garlic sauce since it's garlicky and lightly spicy without burning a hole in my stomach and giving me gas later. I'm just whatever with the rice because it's plain and isn't flavored with anything like chicken broth. - Chicken shawarma.
