Honestly I think they forgot why I came in before even I did. The service sucked. I went on break from my summer job at Hendrickson pool to get a few wings to bring back to my shift to eat. I usually order the Eggplant Parmesan which is tasty, but today I ordered Chicken Marsala. I figured if they got one right, how could I miss? Well, it missed. Mostly because of the mushrooms that seemed to have been soaked in soy sauce. This tasted more like bad Chinese food. I'm going to add a squeeze of citrus and some fresh grated parmesan in hopes of salvaging. I'm hopeful but overall, extremely disappointed. Good Old School fresh Pizza with the nostalgic vibe pizza shops in the 80's and 90's had. The pricing was decent $8.69 for 2 slices and a drink. The pizza was very tasty and fresh , my main complaint is the customer service. The staff didn't greet us and wasn't too inviting , I stood there 3 mins before actually Being asked what was my order and an additional 5 mins to pay and receive my order. Today, I was too tired to walk all the way to Ancona, and decided to give this Rosa's Pizzeria a shot, but I was in for quite a disappointment. Not only was the food bad and excessively greasy, but they also took forever! I ordered a pizza that looked pretty good in the display: Basil leaves, lots of tomatoes, and cheese. What I didn't see was the many chunks of garlic in there, which I discovered while chewing on them --it burned my mouth. That definitely does not belong there. Then for my poor boyfriend, there was an uncooked, overly greasy, half frozen lasagna. You would've thought that for the time they took, they could have at least served a decently cooked lasagna, but it wasn't the case. Definitely not coming back. Just for the record, I do like Ancona way better. If well cooked, non-greasy food is "tasteless", then bring it on. I'm all for "tasteless" food. read more

You can't go wrong with Rosa's. This pizzeria has plenty of tables and ample space. It's not dark or cavernous like other pizzeria's in Valley Stream (cough Ancona cough) you get plenty of sunlight from the wall of windows. They have a wide variety of entree and pasta dishes to choose from and an extensive selection of pizza. The Buffalo Chicken pizza is beast! Not because of the taste (it's a decent pizza, but I prefer the Buffalo chicken slice in Pizza Amore), but by the virtue of the quantity of chicken they put on each slice. I honesty believe they put 1/2 to 1 chicken cutlet worth of chicken onto each slice. Fresh tomato and garlic pizza is really nice as well. Their pizza is huge. Like scary Godzilla pizza huge. The pizza is reasonably priced and not as expensive as Ancona's pizza. They serve good solid pizza at Rosa's, I would definitely order from here again. read more

I've been going to this pizzeria for 6 years it has a nice vibe. It's very close to the high school and the park so on weekdays you'll see it crowded with loud high schoolers and on weekends you'll see soccer teams and kids coming in from the pool. I'm going to give this place a solid 3 stars. I've been coming here for years. They've raised their prices, which is understandable but the pizza hasn't gotten any better. Sometimes it's good. Sometimes it's burnt or have way too much powder on the bottom of the dough. Swung by for a quick slice before work. The slices here are pretty large and generous in terms of toppings. The service was quick and there was plenty of seating. Yes, there were plenty of teenagers just hanging out but honestly it was not a big deal to me; the pizza still tasted the same. I ordered a chicken Cesar slice; it was served cold and was loaded to the point where I ate it like a salad for the first few bites before I could successfully fold it. My wife and I went to Rosa's pizzeria for dinner yesterday. Rosa's is a primarily a takeout pizzeria with some tables for eat in diners.There is no table service you just order and pick up your food. Rosa's pizzeria appeared to be clean and somewhat spacious.. We first ordered a slice of pizza which was very good with the crust being just right. We then ordered two dinner specials a lasagna and a stuffed shell dinner. Both were very good and the portion size was quite generous.Service was quite slow considering it took about half an hour to get dinner in a almost empty restaurant. Considering the dinners cost 5.95 each because of a Monday and Tuesday dinner special the price to value ratio is above average for these days and around average for the rest of the time. All in all this was a very good experience and I look forward to returning in the near future. read more

The pizza is delicious, but a bit on the small side. They have some great gourmet slices, but you aren't given a great deal of bang for your buck (the slices are thick wide but short). The pizza is delicious, much better than, anywhere else in the neighborhood. I enjoy the zitti, sicilian, and various vegetable slices. Rosa's gets very creative with the salad slices. The staff is very friendly. They can be a little bit gruff, but they seem to care about their work. I've never seen Rosa's very crowded, and it's good atmosphere and a really good ambiance. The prices are definitely too high, which is the reasoning behind my deduction of two stars, but it's a nice treat, and a good experience, even if the garlic knots are a little to thick and not sauntered with enough garlic. read more

Best local pizza place. I always get the pepperoni, white, buffalo chicken slices and beef patties and they are all very good, the best around without going deep into queens or the city. I ordered a rigatoni ala vodka slice from this location. When it arrived, it was clear that there was no vodka sauce on it. Instead of eating it, I decided to walk back to the location (since they don't deliver), and bring up my concern. It was very hot inside and that was immediately concerning for food storage reasons. Plus, there were flies. Upon entering, I was not attended to, instead the co workers, including what appeared to be the manager asked each other, "What does she want? Whats the problem?" I literally said, I can hear you, and that prompted them to ask "Whats the issue?". I explained I ordered a rigatoni ala vodka slice and there was no vodka sauce on it. They immediately responded and said, "Yes there is just keep looking for it".... I didn't happen to see a vodka pie on display, I only saw a baked ziti pie. I realized what I had in my hand was the ziti slice. Assuming they would see my point, I told them what I assumed happened and they went back to talking among themselves instead about me. I loveeeeeeeeeee rosa pizza my daughter is allergic to eggs, peanuts, shrimp, and cant eat anywhere so I always ask many questions when I walk into a restaraunt. When I first walked into Rosa pizza in Valleystream NY I asked many questions about there ingredients the boss answered all my questions with a big smile and patience. He proceeded to explain to me how he had a close family member with similar allergies that frequents his restaurant . I have went to other pizzarias and asked the same questions ,got similar stories and ended up the E.R with my child. I have been eating at Rosa for a year now with my husband and 3 kids and so far owner of Rosa pizza is being honest. He is a family man with children I have seen his family in the restaurant and how tight they are . I really respect this business and lovee the price's . on Mondays and Tuesdays they sell most of there pasta like spaghetti and meat sauce for only 6 dollars and there full pizza pies are gigantic :). Very disappointed. Ordered Penne Vodka with grilled chicken. Chicken was burnt and sauce was very thick as though it was heated up after four days. I will never order again from Rosa's. Their food use to be good, but God only knows what happened. Also, their prices have gone up. They have a 5.95 pasta special on Monday & Tuesday's only. That's even gone to the dogs. They need to get new cooks. I called them to tell them about the burnt food, and they agred to give me a credit.
