I don't normally give little donut shops a chance, but I heard from at least 2 fellow San Clementans that I should try the burgers at Rose's. Burgers at a Donut shop??? OMG, I got the Jalepeno Cheeseburger and it was delicious and juicy with the best bun I've ever tasted and all fresh toppings. I got the fries as my side, but you can also get potato salad, chips or a donut. I think I'm gonna try a different side next time, because the fries were just average (good seasoning though!). It was $7 total for a drink, fries, and a huge burger. Same price as a fast food joint, but way better food and a mom-n-pop atmosphere. And you can tell most of the clientele is locals who frequent the place. I was told to get the burger, but I want to try their other options WHEN I go back....they have all kinds of burritos, sandwiches, patty melts, wraps, and breakfast plates. They have several different kinds of coffee, and the donuts looked SO good, my mouth was watering!! I'll be back for breakfast tomorrow morning. =) Well done, Rose. Well done. read more

Definitely the best donut cafe in San Clemente! I am a huge fan of this wonderful donut shop. The donuts are made perfectly and are ALWAYS fresh. They are only 85 cents, which is a great price considering how large and fabulous the donuts are. There is a wide variety of items to choose from the menu. I bike ride to Rose Donuts and it is the perfect treat. We went to here strictly for hot chocolate for my 2 kids & the lady gave both the kids scalding hot chocolate which my 5 year old daughter immediately burned her mouth and neck with. So...I have been craving donuts a lot recently so whenever I get the chance, I get one. I was working a weekend job at the next door shopping center and knew Rose Donuts was near by. On my break I walked to Rose's and got a chocolate cruller (sp.?) I actually went inside for a croissant, but I didn't see any. Then I asked if anything was hot, but he said I would have to come at 4 am for that....so I got the cruller. Nothing special, but the price seemed high at .95..aren't fancy donuts normally .75 or .85 at most. Maybe because this was in San Clemente, I don't know. read more

My families favorite donut shop ever. My mom and I are donut fanatics and have tried so many places and nothing compares to the donuts here! They're always super fresh even if you come at 11pm. My mom and I just went to Washington D.C. And New York and tried different donut places out there that are really popular and they seriously don't even compare to this place. Everyone who works here is always so friendly and upbeat. You won't find better donuts then these :) read more

Roses doughnuts are a must! They are delicious, so light and fluffy- you will want more. One of the best times to come is when they have just made fresh glazed doughnuts-- they melt in your mouth! They open at random times during the late night and early morning because they are making hot and fresh doughnuts. I've stopped by at 1am before after coming home from the airport because I can't get enough of their glazed doughnuts. read more

They are now open 24 hours what a dream come true! They make everything on site so you know it's fresh, also have a good selection of coffee. This place gets really busy but the staff get you in and out quick. I would give it five stars but the seating is not the best. You could sit outside but then your with the smokers. read more

Coffee was awful and the doughnuts were just okay. We really came for coffee because we try to support local businesses instead of the chains. Big mistake. They can't make a decent mocha, iced or hot. I wouldn't drive past Starbucks for this. The rest of the food may be okay but I'll never find out. read more

First time being here since the remodel. The ordering process went well and we got our order in decently fast but then we waited for a really long time for our two sandwiches. Enough time for many wHo came behind us to get their food. Once we did get it we were in a hurry to get back on the road and when we finally got to eat we realized the order was wrong. What a hidden gem for the city. Not only is the food delicious but the service is top notch too. The staff was friendly and offered suggestions because it was our first time there. The best part however was when we were walking out to leave and the young lady at the counter thanked us by name. I've worked in the restaurant business for over 30 years and I turned to my wife and said " if we didn't live in Northern California I'd offer her a job today "! Love this place even more now that it is open 24 hours. This is a hidden gem in the Stater Bros plaza with great service. Try the Rose croissant with the fresh squeezed orange juice. Big selection of donuts too. In the mornings there is a group of older men who meet outside for their "coffee talk"; I love seeing local flavor! read more

Wow! This place has gone downhill fast. I think they changed ownership a while ago and it's been getting worse ever since. The quality of the food has declined and service is a complete shitshow! How many times can you screw up a simple order? Seriously, I just wanted a bagel with cream cheese and tomato. The staff must have ADD. I used to come here once or twice a week... no more! Delicious sandwiches! I've tried their fresh turkey sandwich and their vegetarian sandwich. What I love about them is that their sandwiches are filled with vegetables--even the turkey sandwich. You can add extra veggies to them like sprouts or avocado. It really is delicious. Pair that with their fresh OJ and what a lunch! I've never tried their donuts or unhealthier food options (although they look delicious) so I can't say anything about that. Service is exceptional. I believe I met the owner this morning (while grabbing my 4AM cappuccino) and she was super sweet. Thanks for being open 24 hours! read more

By far the BEST donuts I have ever tasted!! Always fresh, a little crispy on the outside and soft in the middle - to die for! Their breakfast burritos are my fav too (especially the country burrito). A few months back, I placed a catering ordeer with them and it was amazing! An order 20 sandwiches, assorted chips, and doughnuts fed 28 people! It was a generous amount of food with great portions. We even had extra! It was a huge order and it came out exactly how we wanted it. Susan, the owner, was so nice and helped us pick out some of the popular sandwiches. We even added onto the order a few days prior, which was nice of them to do. Susan even added free doughnuts to our order! Love this place and the food! read more

Our family loves this little place! They make delicious fresh donuts and the other breakfast options are equally wonderful. My husband loves the Farmhouse breakfast Burrito and I love the everything bagel with egg, bacon and cheese. All of the grill items are made to order fresh and although there is always a line, the staff moves quickly. I was here for a cup of coffee in the morning and went back for lunch. I had the Rose Burrito and it was delicious and hearty! It does not look like an overwhelmingly huge breakfast burrito you typically get. All of their ingredients were fresh and seasoned. I tried each ingredient individually and was surprised by the quality. I also ordered their fresh squeezed orange juice and was able to taste the freshness as soon as I took the first sip. There is outside seating which is nice on bright sunny days (like today!) with a slight breeze. My husband seemed satisfied with his patty melt. He also couldn't resist their doughnuts so he got 2 to go--one glazed twist and one sugar twist. He gulped those down. There is ample parking since it is a big shopping center. (It does seem to get pretty busy in the morning!) We would definitely come back to this café! read more
