    Ribeye and Peppers

Out last stop in restaurant week 2026. We usually try to book a steakhouse to try during the annual Chicago Restaurant Week. We were able to easily book a reservation on the app. Our table was available at our reservation time. We were able to check our coats at the door. Our server Tatiana was really friendly. She gave us good recommendations for the meatballs over the salad option. For our dining experience, I got the Ribeye and Peppers. My husband got the NY Strip. We were underwhelmed by the flavoring and quality of the steak. We ended up bagging up our meal so we could season it correctly at home. Also disappointed that my husband garlic wasn't bagged up. We paid $20 up charge and they didn't bag over a half of the smoked garlic. That was disappointing. We did enjoy the appetizer, complimentary bread, sides and dessert. The carrot cake was a delight and the house wine for restaurant week pair was good. I am torn on scoring this evening. Probably Closer to 3.5. I don't believe I would try it again. The cost even with restaurant week pricing did not validate my dining experience.

I came here for a Monday Night Dinner to celebrate my coworker's birthday. It was not packed and easy to make a reservation. We got seated in a cozy little corner. Our waiter stopped by our table to greet us and then gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered a bottle of wine as recommended by the waiter. It was the perfect balance for all of us. A hint of sweetness but yet a wonderful white wine taste. Afterwards, our waiter explained how many sides we should order and even helped with difficult decisions. I wish I could remember the waiter's name but he was such a delight! For the food, we ordered two 20 oz steaks and one veal dish. We ordered 6 sides to go with our dishes! Let me just say that our waiter did tell us it was plenty enough but we just wanted to try everything! We ordered mashed potatoes, tater tots, fries, Brussels sprout, Mac and cheese, and Caesar salad. I forgot that we also ordered the short rib pasta but we ate it more as a side. The food came out in a timely manner and we devoured everything. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked to our desired temperature. I'm still thinking about the Mac and cheese! I would love to come back in the future!

The burrata salad was flavorful and much larger than anticipated which was a wonderful split for two people. The service was prompt and courteous with everything well attended. The star of the show was the Chicago cut Ribeye; prepared rare with beautiful marbling. I look forward to returning here soon.

This restaurant has an old nostalgia feel to it. I was greeted immediately and sat in a corner booth seat. Our sever was friendly and made good recommendations. We ordered the poterhouse which was a great size, tender and flavored well but could of been hotter. The lollipop lamb chops where seasoned and cooked exactly how they were ordered. The broccolini had good flavor but a bit crunchier than I prefer. They could of been cooked a bit longer. The French fries were a bit oily and salty. The house bread was a good start to the meal and came out hot and fresh. Overall I had a good experience and the food was good.

Pros: Great service Loved the varied appetizer options - we got shrimp cocktail, MD Crab Cakes, dumplings, meatballs, and sausage and peppers Filet was cooked perfectly but a touch too salty (not bad enough for them to remake) Cons: Shared salads - prime wedge (was shredded and not in a traditional wedge?), Caesar (way too much dressing), and chopped Pro tip: The hidden gem is the Asian Sea Bass! I wanted to order, but since we were at a steakhouse, felt obliged to get a steak. However, my friend got the sea bass and it was AMAZING! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I am still dreaming about the bite I had.

I was here with a group of colleagues, and three of us decided to share our meals. The picture you see was a fantastic presentation of all three. Seabass, 12 ounce fillet and another larger steak. All were cooked to perfection. The waiter was out of this world! He's very funny and attentive to our group. Would definitely return.

I went to Rosebud with my boyfriend for date night, and we both loved our dishes - he has a NY steak and I had a plate of Halibut, which was delicious! We also ordered a half dozen oysters and a shrimp cocktail which were also very good! The ambiance was fun, lively and cute, it was pretty full but we had reservations so we did not have much of a wait. I had been to Rosebud before for dinner but this was my boyfriend's first time in town and he absolutely loved this spot! Oh and we also had carrot cake for dessert, with vanilla ice cream!

Fabulous! Old school ambiance... Excellent service.... Outstanding food... I had the best skirt steak ever.., The wedge salad with lardons and blue cheese was mind blowing.... Pound cake with gelato and caramel was a delightful ending...

Food and Service....outstanding! We were visiting Chicago for the weekend and were looking for a place to grab appetizers as we had a super late dinner planned. This place had early reservations and we ended up pretty much having the entire restaurant to ourselves. Our server was delightful. He spent lots of time chatting with us about the history of the restaurant and was just overall so friendly. We sat at a table that had a tribute to a long time regular, Mr. George Burrows. It was fun to learn the history of this patron. We had the Lobster GOT, the Fork & Knife Bacon and a side of Cauliflower Gratin and OMG....these dishes were riiiiiiiiiiich!. The Lobster pieces were nestled in butter, gooey cheese and herbs. The fork and knife bacon was huge! This slab of pork belly was tender and slathered in a smokey sweet sauce. The cauliflower was extra cheesy. This really was the perfect meal and dining experience. Food and service were top notch.

If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a group or a date. They have a full bar, and also great seating with perfect lighting. This is a new favorite for me in the city.

It just has that classic Chicago feel that makes the entire dining experience even better. And the drinks? So good! I highly recommend the Old Fashioned -- definitely one of my favorites. I always order the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. The first time I had it, the sauce was a little thicker, creamier, and richer, which I personally preferred. The reservation we got was for the patio, but when we arrived, they didn't have a table for us. We waited probably an extra 15 mins and then the lady was able to arrange an inside table for us. She had been getting a bit of lip from folks coming in just before us, and so she definitely seemed to be dishing out some lip herself. I think that should have been a better experience. I will acknowledge that we did appreciate a table inside eventually when the one just outside wasn't there. Our server once seated was like, amazing. To me she made up for the passive aggressive comments from before. She was so patient and well-spoken and all. Seemed like she was from a Michelin-star place. So to start, the Caesar salad was ok. What was nice in there, it had these crispy chips of some kind in the salad. Overall, the dressing could've been a bit more caesar-y. Then we also had these truffle oil mozzarella sticks and those were pretty amazing. Served with marinara sauce, which was pretty good. But the sticks themselves were like so cheesy and gooey and freshly made, it was great. Then for the mains, we had a vodka pasta and one other one. Both were vegetarian pasta options, which is great. Both had really nice flavored sauces and the pastas were also done right. I forgot to ask for crushed red pepper as some spice boost would've made things even better. Also, one of the pastas was a gluten free - and it was really good - in the sense that I never would've guessed that it was gf. It's a corn-based pasta, in case anyone wants to know. I really wish they had an eggplant parm, but unfortunately they had only chicken and veal parms, only. Lastly, and to top everything else off, we had a soft-serve almond-caramel (not the exact name) gelato. Wow, that was SO good. Nutty flavor and creamy rich. Probably the best course of the night. Just outstanding. I chose it based on ChatGPT recommendation and it was just spot ON. Definitely a place I'll come back to.

For dessert we had the citrus olive oil cake, and then they surprised us by gifting the table their soft serve. We absolutely did not need another bite of food at that point... and yet somehow that soft serve disappeared. It was amazing. And the service? Top notch. From beginning to end, the hospitality matched the food and atmosphere. Seven stops, a ridiculous amount of food, and Ciccio Mio managed to be the perfect finale.

The octopus surprised me because octopus can be hit or miss for me, but they did it really well! The table bread was also pretty good and cheesy. The Caesar was just fine. Nothing special but not bad (which is good coming from me since I'm not usually big on kale). Of course all of the pastas were yummy. The fusilloni was definitely my favorite from the noodle shape to the sausage and cheese. The ricotta dumplings were suuuuuper cheesy which I really liked (though I could see why others wouldn't) and had a melt in your mouth softness. The rigatoni was tasty, but kinda just tasted like a normal red sauce so would probably try something more interesting next time. We really enjoyed the chicken parm, too. Not as good as the pastas, but definitely tasty and the basil was a good touch. We finished with the guava cheesecake sundae. The fritto misto was ok, the breading tasted like it was old or had been sitting out. Not as crispy as we'd hope. To be honest felt like frozen calamari quality. The Alla Vita chopped was pretty standard, kinda reminded me of Olive Garden salad lol. The stars of the meal were the tagliatelle and cappelletti pasta. Both were super flavorful and pasta cooked well. The bone-in ribeye was a little on the sweeter side, definitely lacked a crust and salt. I'd pass on the steak IMO. Our biggest qualm was the timing of the dishes coming out. The pasta came out 30-35 minutes after the appetizer and salad which is fine, but the steak coming out 15 minutes after the pasta kinda ruined it. We'd love to eat the entrees (steak and pasta) together, and not finish our pasta first or let it go cold then eat steak alone.. ya know? We had ordered crispy potatoes but cancelled due to the wait. Ended the night with mango passion fruit sorbet with a prosecco float. Big mistake on the prosecco float haha it was so tarte and bitter, would def recommend trying the sorbet alone! Overall, glad we finally got to try this place. Focus more on the pastas and skip the steak. Very beautiful inside.
