The food is good. The service from the server was good. Her help was horrendous!! I ordered hot tea and asked for it to be microwaved because it wasn't hot. I asked to be microwave because I believe the buster was stoned/high and suspected he would not remember to bring me a new tea bag. Well I was correct he would not microwave as I asked. He gave me a hot cup of water no tea bag no extra honey. Just water. Buster dropped off someone else's drinks to our table. Not all of our drinks we ordered made it to our table. When we did get a new drink to the table again it was not correct! You would think that a manger would of come over to check in. Nope. Now the food comes and how it comes out of a kitchen cold I will never understand. Mind you to get someone to comeback to your table is going to be a long wait in between. Now I did warn it was very loud like loud that you can't hear you friends across the table. Now add the usual shrieking children. However there was one louder and cut through all the noise that I actually saw some guests cover their ears. Now this extraordinary shrieking child was shrieking through all the noise and mind you when you have multiple people covering their ears that's not me being dramatic. The server was apologetic because it was obvious our experience there was horrible. It was very disappointing because we heard such great things about this place and was eager to try. One of the best chicken parmesans ever. Good atmosphere and service. Their menu is mostly Italian with some seafood and American classics. They have a full beer, wine, and mixed drink menu along with appetizers and desserts. There was a 30 minutes wait on Friday, but they'll text you when your table is available. Five stars for the staff and the food. My family came into town and there were eight of that showed up to eat here. The staff ensured we had tables near each other, to comply with COVID-19 rules and so we could still talk. The staff was super attentive. I love this place! I had to check this place out because of DDD's recommendation and I'm so glad we did! The beef minestrone is a MUST! And I'm so glad I upgraded to the bowl from a cup for an additional $1. So good!!! My husband had the French dip. I had to sample it and it was tasty! He had the potato salad side -which we thought was okay (not great). My husband got it because our waitress (a sweetheart!) said it was very good. Hmmmmm The place is family friendly. My boys are 3 and 5 years old. Their menu had crosswords, word search puzzles and were given 2 crayons each that they can keep. The kids' meals weren't great at all however, besides the french fries. The chicken tenders were SALTY! And the pasta with Italian sausage was bland. My boys usually eat up their plates. But not tonight. They do give military discount. They have an incredible display of desserts at the front. I'd come back just for their minestrone soup and the lovely staff. read more

Always the best service and food! Came here for the second time for a day trip in Monterey. Seated for two within 5 minutes of arrival at 5pm on a Saturday. Our food came out super quick, too!! This is such a great family owned restaurant. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it did not disappoint. I love how this restaurant pays attention to all the tiny details and everything is made in house. My favorite part of this restaurant is even though they were featured on a tv show they still remain humble. They take care of their customers and food is delicious. This is an excellent place for breakfast and brunch. The foods are fresh and tasty. Minestrone and pesto pasta are highly recommend. Google reviews show that they are pet friendly, but they do not allow pets and dogs inside the restaurant. When I went to this restaurant last time, I had a small dog, and they told me that pets are allowed inside and gave me a table outside. read more

I need to stop ordering from here. Keep giving their staff the benefit of the doubt but they mess up our to go order 99% of the time. Salad with no dressing. Eggs Benedict with no hollandaise sauce. Whole Items just completely missing. We will repeat the order 5 times on the phone and ask them to read it back to us and it's still wrong! We stopped using ordering services for this restaurant and will only pick up so we can check the bags ourselves now because nothing is more annoying then spending am extra $10 for delivery just to have to drive there yourself for salad dressing. It's happened several times. And they didn't even offer to pay for me the meal or make it up to the customer in any way. They realize they messed up big and inconvenienced us and made us drive there to rectify the mistake and just apologize for always messing it up. We used to eat there in person and it wasn't a problem. We have been doing lots of take out since Covid 19. They just can't get it together for take out and it's sad because it was our favorite place for almost 20 years. They need a come to Jesus moment with their staff. It's been around for 39 years and Katie, our server, is one of four employees who has worked here for 20 years. Opened in a different location and moved to Alvarado St. I had a starter, a quesadilla with steak cooked medium rare and everything on the side. My dining companion had 3 eggs with potatoes and non- crispy bacon, fruit instead of bread. I have leftovers aka lunch. I wanted to give them more stars because the food here was delicious, but the lasagna being frozen in the middle was a huge upset. As a party of 4, we came here on a Saturday, did the wait-list thing, and had no issues getting seated in a short amount of time. The waitress and staff were friendly and helpful but slow. It took a while for us to get drinks but when we ordered food, it came out really fast... Except for the lasagna. We made some jokes about the wait but it turned into a while. It was whatever but when it finally did come out there some more jokes about the wait for it. About a quarter of the way through it, my cousin stops eating and says it's cold. Well obviously the wait was to cook it more thoughly but that didn't work. I asked like cold not cooked all the way, and he said no like cold frozen in the middle. We all took turns sticking our finger in it to verify (you know the faithful saying, trust but verify) and sure as s#!@ it was COLD cold. We grabbed a staff member walking by (because we hadn't seen our waitress, the service was a bit slow) and she takes the plate, apologizes and makes some jokes about it. They offered him another meal, but at that point we were done. They did take the meal off the check. When our waitress came back, she made some jokes about the cold lasagna too! At that point it wasn't funny anymore. It was never funny. Don't serve cold food, especially using the reputation of some food guy on TV to try and sell it. The experience was extremely disappointing and the reactions from the staff made it feel like this was a reoccurring problem they just brush off and refund. TLDR; My recommendation is to avoid the lasagna because it doesn't cook through and will be frozen/cold in the middle. The sourdough french toast was delicious. Service can be slow. read more

So you are in Monterey and you are tired of the seafood. Your kids want a normal breakfast but you don't want to go to Denny's cause you are in Monterey and you want to check out new stuff. Well then Rosine's is the place. Didn't have any idea where to go and use the Yelp gods to show me the way. The place looks clean and it didn't seem to busy but this was on a Monday and around 10am. When you first walk in, there is a display with pastries and a Triple D sign with Guy F. face stating he ate here. On the menu they highlight the items that they had on the TV show so of course my son and wife try it. I initially want the Italian Omelette but they ran out so you know it must be good. I then ask the waitress for another option and she had me try the Turkey, Avocado n' Mushroom Benedict. The wifey gets a Denver omelette, son gets a Jim's special, and the daughter gets a French Toast. Food comes quick and we are ready to dig in. The food portions are huge. I could have actually shared my dish. 3 poached eggs sitting on 3 english muffins sitting on turkey, avocado slices, and smothered in homemade hollandaise sauce. So when you think about turkey in a restaurant, you think dry meat or sandwich slices. Nope, this turkey was as if it just came out of the oven. So moist and tasty. No joking. I was impressed. It came with home fries and they were just right. The sourdough toast was also tasty and my son and I fought over the last piece. I was not able to taste the other dishes that the family ordered but they all stated it was good. Of course we came away with boxes but not a big deal, we decided to give it away to the homeless. We wanted to try something different in the area and spotted this place by the reviews on yelp and how close we were to it, so decided to give it a try. We got a booth and were waited on right away. We both ordered their special of the day which was crab eggs benedict and I had a peach bellini and it was all amazing!! 3.5 stars. We've been coming to Rosine's for years. Standard American food. Basic and nothing too fancy or creative. This place is always busy and there is usually a line but I realize that there is lack of other similar type of restaurants in the area. Good for brunch and lunch. We've had dinner here but it also left us with the same feeling that it was OK. Be prepared for a wait to get a table. Then prepare to wait to order food. And wait for your meal. Allow about 2 hours at least to factor in all the wait time. Nice clean interior. The showcase of huge cakes near the front is eye catching. Worth sharing dessert to try out the sweets. read more

I was here on Sunday. My friend and I were seated promptly. Waitress came to the table and didn't greet us - just asked what we wanted. She brought a coffee cup to our table with a big red lipstick mark on the top and dried oatmeal on the handle, left and poured coffee for the couple at the table next to us. When she came back to fill MY cup, I showed her the cup and she picked it up and left. She didn't say "sorry about that" or ANYthing. Returned with a clean cup, poured the coffee and asked if we were ready to order. I ordered a cocktail that had orange juice - the juice was rank. Couldn't find our waitress to order a different drink, so I got the bus boy to order me a mimosa. He promptly informed me that I had to do that with the waitress. I told him I WOULD, but she wasn't around. He took away my drink, found our waitress and she looked irritated that I asked for a different cocktail. THEN, MY food arrived but the waitress told my friend that hers was not ready yet. Hers didn't come for almost 10 minutes. By then, my crab Benedict as well as my potatoes were cold. I realize they had "a full house", but there's no excuse for poor service. I'm sure they are ALWAYS full on the weekend. Quality control and more servers would have made my experience at this restaurant so much more pleasurable. Sorry I'm only visiting and can't give them another chance. On a positive note, the bakery items looked fabulous! However, we couldn't get to the counter to order any to take away, due to the long line of patrons waiting in line to be seated. read more
