Ross J's why must you be so far away from me?! This has definitely been one of the better Hawaiian plces I have been to. Definitely reminds of someplace I might find in Ewa Beach or maybe even Pearl City. I have been wanting to come here forever & was finally in the neighborhood having my car serviced & happened to go with my boy Darren S. who lives on this side of town & is from Hawaii. The service is great & the auntie behind the counter is really sweet & makes me miss Hawaii all that much more, not to mention the food. The Loco Moco with Portugese sausage was HUGE & on point. Very filling! The mac salad is also pretty decent. I am kind of picky when it comes to mac salad & have been disappointed by a lot of places here. Horrible food... Today, I ordered 3 different plates because I wanted to try their food before I order catering from them. I ordered the beef and spicy Korean chicken, and it was so salty that I couldn't finish the plate, I threw it out... The 2nd plate was chicken katsu, and the chicken was so dry that they should have used some of the sauce from the spicy chicken. The last order was saimen noodles. Holly crap they used a fish base broth. It was horribly nasty. I would take it all back, but I only have an hour for my lunch and no time to drive back.... Definitely not going back here! read more

They really should raise their prices and hire another person to help. You would think that at 3:30pm on a Sat, that it might not be too busy but it is. Happened to be in the area, this place had great ratings and was unique so we decided to try it. I originally wanted the original Loco Moco but my husband accidentally ordered me the Spam Loco Moco. It was a good and filling lunch but the spam made it a little salty. I don't love spam so I wasn't thrilled with the dish. There was nothing that wow-ed me with the dish, even if it was spam-less. Supposedly this is classic Hawaiian food. My sister and brother in law both got chicken teriyaki - just chicken over rice, nothing special. Prior to the pandemic this was one of my favorite places to eat. I didn't know they reopened until recently and was excited to eat there. HOWEVER, I was extremely disappointing at how the quality of the food had deteriorated. I ordered the Korean Spicy chicken and a side of lumpia. Both were disgusting. The Chicken batter was undercooked to the point I wont eat it, and the lumpi was also undercooked mushy and gross to say the least. I'm not sure what happened but I won't be going back. I'm just glad I didn't have anyone else with me because I would have been embarrassed to have recommended this restaurant. Get the spicy chicken bowl!! You will not regret it. This little hole in the wall is a hidden gem! I've been here multiple times and there hasn't been a time where I had a bad meal or bad service. During their lunch time roughly 12-2 they can get really busy and the wait might be a bit longer than normal but it is definitely worth it. I almost always get the spicy chicken bowl with broccoli added on. Their broccoli isn't anything special. It actually isn't even seasoned or anything but that's fine because the chicken is so good it compensates for that. Their chicken is sweet, it's salty, it's tangy, and its got a nice little kick to it. The closest thing I can resemble it to is orange chicken without the breading on the outside and a bit more spice. It is a great place to get good Hawaiian food at a very affordable price. They also offer Hawaiian Sun canned drinks. The classic go to is the spicy korean chicken bowl, which costs $4-$5. It is a pretty big portion, but all of their dishes consist big portions and a lot of rice. You can also ask for skinless chicken, which I know because a friend requests it every time. Drizzle some sriracha on there and you got some fire! This time around, I opted for the corn beef hash with eggs because I wanted some breakfast food. Another great meal here at Ross J's... this time it was the Loco Moco, but we have tried the Spicy Korean chicken bowl, Meat Jun and the Katsu...all were great! The spam Masubi has been fresh and very good every time I order it...and when it's to go, it never makes it home, as I eat it on the way every time. Needed some local food to satisfy my hunger pains and my did it satisfy! Heard of Ross J's a couple times, nothing bad always positive that the food is ono. So since i was in the area i decided to grab a quick bite and a musubi for my little one for the ride home. Stopped in around 330 pm and the place was rather quiet, couple tables occupied, some to go orders as well. The lady and girl working were real friendly and offered plenty of Aloha. I decided to go with the bento from the specials board and the spam musubi (my littles favorite) the wait time wasn't too bad. Judging by the menu they have tons of local favorites. Teri beef, hamburger steak, korean chicken, loco moco, spam musubi and the famous mac salad. Prices are moderate and pretty average while the special plates like the Ross J's special are a little pricier close to $9 a plate but well worth the price for the amount of food given. The bento i ordered had Rice, Mac salad, Teri beef, Korean Chicken and Redondos hot dog. The plate was filling and ono. The teri beef was super duper delish and definitely will be having just that next time. The mac salad was tasty but little bit too much mayo for my liking. But i can get pass that. Overall Ross J's has a lot of parking available, plate lunches have great portions for great prices and everything taste ono!!!! The food here is great but the best is they do not ask for tip when you use a charge card. Kudos to them. So I leave tip in the tip jar. I know Vegas metro has solid food, but wanted to see if they had hawaiian outliers that weren't available where I'm currently living. I've only been one time, but it was pretty good. When I walked in, there were already at least six people in front of me in line at the counter, so I knew it had to be good. As I was waiting to order another 10 people came in behind me. It was a little bit of a wait until I finally got to order, but it wasn't too bad. The staff was very friendly and answered any questions I had. I got the teriyaki combination. The wait for my to go order was not too long. While everything was good, it wasn't anything amazing. I think my spam musubi was the best. The macaroni was pretty good as well. I feel like the meat lacked a little something. But it was still good. If you've ever been to Aloha Specialties in downtown Las Vegas, then the menu here will look a little familiar. They have much of the same items, but the menu at this location is much bigger.
