Today was the second time I visited the Round Table in West Covina. Both times I was helped out by a young lady named Victoria and on both occasions she was very sweet and courteous she has very good customer service. I've been here once during dinner time and once during lunch time. When we arrived for dinner it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. I was originally worried because we had a larger party but was easily seated at a large table in the front. We ordered our food and it arrived within a timely manner. The experience was sub par. Nothing special about the food nor the service. On my second visit we went in the middle of the week during lunch time and we had ordered a personal pizza to go. They were serving there buffet at this time. I didn't even know Round Table offered a buffet. Almost like Shakey's I'm assuming. The place was empty. We were the only customers there which was why our pizza was finished within 10 minutes. I do believe there pizza taste good. However the price is not cheap. I think I'd still rather go to Shakey's for their buffet and I think I'd rather order from the typical Dominoes and Pizza Hut for a better tasting pizza at home. Just seems "meh" to me. I have been a customer since back in the 90's at the location in Rosemead Ca off of Valley Blvd that's no longer there and also West Covina Mall/Plaza, so when The Heights West Covina opened a few years ago, this was our new place to go. I love the buffet Mon thru Fridays is a great deal with drink, pizza, salad, potato wedges, garlic twist. They also have a great deal on XL and L pizza on Monday's is 40% off! Just make sure to mention it when you order. We usually go once a week. I would like to mention the young lady that too our order. Too many people are always ready to complain and not enough commendations given. The receipt says her name is Jordanne. I never saw her there before but she was very nice and friendly! Smiling all the time. I asked for half cheese and half ham pineapple for buffet and she was right on it. She kept the salad bar very clean. Checking it a few times. She also came to our table for first dibs on pizza. That was very nice of her to do that. I feel she didn't have to and went out of her way! Great service!!! I honestly must say wow. Not only is the pizza good but the staff is also amazing. There was one that really stood out from the rest his name was Angel. Angel was in the front register and also attending to the guests that were eating. Not only did he provide amazing service to everyone but he did it with enthusiasm and a smile. I've been a Round Table fan for over 30 years! We haven't had this pizza in a while since we almost always end up with the near vicinity competition. Yes, the others have better deals & are much cheaper. However you get what you pay for. The quality of the pizza & real toppings that are immediately recognizable as they overflow atop & not like the ones that look like it just melted on top. The service is by far the best,super fast,friendly and so attentive. Monica was her name she made me feel so welcome and comfortable as soonest I walked in. Ive always been a fan of Round Table pizza, but don't always eat here because it can be sometimes expensive in my opinion. I love their pepperoni! It's so delicious and a little kick to it. The best. I think the best value to dine here is during lunch time. They offer a great lunch buffet for about $10 a person, not bad at all. They have about six different pizzas out and are always bringing more out. The salad bar is the BEST! They have a every best salad topping you could want, this part is my favorite. Celebrated my daughter's birthday here. It was an awesome experience. The pizzas and wings were delicious.The employees are very friendly and attentive. We reserved one of the rooms and were able to come in a few hours early to decorate. The room reservations and you only have to spend $100 for the smaller room and $200 for the bigger room. Today we were in the area and noticed the lunch buffet sign. So we decided to give it a try. We order and get our drinks which was all great but then we tried to sit down and ended up having to go into this side room (I assume they use it for large private parties for kids parties or something) because the majority of the tables were dirty or un-bussed. The salad bar was un-stocked and messy, but we just worked around it. They have the pizzas on a separate buffet line under heat lamps. There were 2-3 slices of each pie and also looked un-stocked. There was a mess at the end that I tried to clean up with a napkin but it didn't help much.The flavor was good but the pizzas were cold. Maybe it had been sitting there a long time? Not once the 30 minutes we were eating did I see any staff come out to address the above issues. I counted 8 dirty tables from where we're sitting to the front door alone on the way out. Slooooooooooooooooooow! This review really is for just how slow the service is here. I've been here a couple times and i have no complaints about the food. It good pizza and good bread sticks i just wish they would give it to me faster! Lol This last time i went tho was just bad and wrong, all i ordered was bread sticks and a coke. It took like 40 mins just to get my bread. Part of it was when they were done and i could see that they were done but they were just sitting there on the counter! Finally i had sent my friend to just go get them and as far as i know when they give u a table number and say its for dine in there suppose to take your order to your table. So, the problem is this is the only Round Table that will deliver to Covina even though the Glendora one is closer to my house, so yeah, when I want Round Table, I have to order from this one. Today I had delivery for the second time. Both times they did not deliver the extra sauce they charged me for and when I asked my delivery person she said, "I deliver what they give me," and walked away. Awesome customer service. I also asked for blue cheese and they gave me ranch. Awesome customer service. Besides those two issues, both pizzas on both orders had been squished into the top of the box and jammed sideways. Cheese is hard to get out of cardboard as are toppings. The sad part is, they are still better than Dahlia's and Red Devil. Essentially, the lesson is that Covina sucks for pizza delivery. I remember Round Table's ads about being the "last honest pizza." This one is honestly the last Round Table I would order from, but unfortunately is the only one who will deliver to me. I am a fan of Round Table just not this location. It tends to be a hit or miss when going there.....more times a miss. Today was a miss. Went there for lunch buffet and the pizza was cold. Asked if they could make a certain pizza and they said "no because it's not busy". At that time it wasn't but 5 to 10 minutes later it was busy....quite busy. The root beer on one machine was room temperature (I don't do ice) and some of the cheese on salad bar was pink (WTH)??? When they did start bringing more pizza out it was a small/medium size....you should have seen the customers scrambling to get to it. LMAO!! It was gone in seconds. Came for my brothers birthday celebration and the service that I received was beyond. From the beginning staff was very friendly and attentive. The manager Monica and Jordan the Assistant manager were beyond exceptional. I have came here many times before and this has honestly been the greatest experience ever. We had a family gathering here and they were so accommodating and super nice to our whole party. We had the buffet which was a greasy deal since it included drinks. Monica was super helpful and catered to all our needs, she even made sure there was a gluten free pizza for my niece so she could be included in the party I would definitely recommend Round Table for groups and celebrations and the kids enjoyed the games and we even took picture outside at the fountain. The best deal here is the buffet because 1. You don't have to wait and 2. You don't have to deal with the service. Unfortunately for me, I ordered take out a small pizza and a dozen wings. Was told it would take 15mins and that was surprisingly a fast quote, we thought it would take 45mins so we planned on running errands around the Plaza and informed the lady that we would be back in 30 mins. After going to petsmart and target, we got back and still had to wait another 20mins.. By the time we got back home which is 5mins away, the pizza was already soggy and our wings were burning hot. How disappointing, horrible timing and not worth the 30 dollars. Thought round table was suppose to be good, if it still has that potential than the employees need to pick it up and don't lie to their customers. The last year at this Round Table Pizza in West Covina, I've done a few business presentations with my team and it's been a great experience. Monica and her staff has been very helpful each time I have a presentation here. The food taste great and it is always time , the reserved room is nice and clean, the HD Televison is ready for my powerpoints and everyone of the employees have been very friendly and respectful. This round table has come a very long way since management changed, the staff is so much nicer and the environment is so much more pleasant. I work in the parking lot and have come in twice since management changed, we stopped coming previously because the staff was rude as ever. We decided to give it another try and were pleasantly surprised, we were greeted by Monica at the register each time, she is friendly, sweet and informative about how the lunch special works. I'm from the Bay Area so I love Round Table Pizza, but this location is not the best. I ordered online expecting my order to be ready since it took me 20 minutes to get here and they said online it would be ready in 15. It's been over 15 minutes since I've arrived and I'm STILL waiting. There are more employees working than customers do I'm withering what is going on...Plus the restaurant is dirty with food on the floor.
