Absolutely awesome brunch! My friend who goes to Tulane brought me here because one of his professors owns the chain and it did not disappoint! Quick service, friendly staff, and wow those biscuits!!!!! Definitely get the French toast bites and hot honey chicken, the sweetness + kick at the end is the best of both worlds. We came on a Friday morning (around 11am) and there was about a 45 minute wait so plan accordingly! read more

We were looking for some fried green tomatoes and stumbled upon this place through recommendations. The online wait-list is a bit confusing but we were seated fairly quickly upon checking in. It was just my sister and I, so we shared an appetizer and entree to not overindulge as we'd done for the past couple days already - fried green tomatoes appetizer ($7.50): this was deliciousness! One of the top fried green tomatoes I've ever had! The bacon jam and vinegar worked really nicely together so the dish wasn't too heavy. -the trifecta ($21): this is 3 different eggs bennies in case you couldn't decide. There was a shrimp and fried green tomatoes one, a pulled pork, and a fried chicken and gravy one. We agreed the fried chicken one was our fave. Second one was the fried green tomatoes but wished it was made with the bacon jam like with the appetizer. Pulled pork was good but wished for something crunchy like a fried pickle or onion for doing texture. Overall, we were thrilled with our meal. It's very reasonably priced too. Staff was very friendly. Parking seems to be difficult but we had walked. Definitely make a stop at one of their locations while you're in New Orleans! read more

At Ruby Slipper, you know you will have good food and great service! When our party arrived, we were quickly greated and seated. Our server was incredibly friendly and a NOLA native, so was able to really talk us through different food options. I made the mistake of trying to be healthy instead of ordering what she recommended and I definitely regretted it - get an eggs benedict! read more

We came early on a weekday (7:30 am) luckily there was no wait. You can join the waitlist from their website. I had the biscuits and gravy. It could use more gravy. The biscuits were nice and fluffy. The gravy has a great flavor. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I prefer my bacon cooked a little bit more. My mom had the eggs Benedict trifecta. She enjoyed it. Service was friendly and fast! read more

Fantastic, the super friendly service, portion sizes, food was excellent the biscuits are amazing

There was a rat in the restaurant under the table across from me. I told three staff members, and they responded with silence, as if this was normal and I should just move on. It was the craziest response ever. I will never go back, and I will encourage others to stay away!!! read more

Great place for a hearty breakfast with New Orleans touch (eg cajun shrimp grits, banana foster pancakes), "eye-openers" (alcoholic drinks), and brunch atmosphere. We were here on a Sunday morning and it was busy but not overwhelming--was seated within 15 minutes for 2 people. Seatings: Indoor and outdoor options. There were tables that accommodated large groups (6+). Menu: Nice variety of savory and sweet options. Pricing is moderately high but as expected for downtown locations. My dish, the "Taste of Ruby" ($21), was cold and for being the most expensive item on the menu, that was disappointing. Flavors were enjoyable for the shrimp Benedict but the pulled pork and fried chicken needed more flavor imo. Hubby really enjoyed his Biscuits & Gravy with an extra side of Fried Chicken--the sweet hot version was delicious! (I actually dipped my chicken from a Benedict into the sweet hot sauce and it was ) read more

Came in with a co-worker for breakfast. She recommended this place and mentioned her husband loves it. We waited about 5 min for an inside table just to be under the ac and fans. Everyone was really nice, from the hostess to the waitress and everyone in between. When we walked in I immediately noticed how loud the restaurant was. It was so loud, I couldn't hear anything my co-worker was saying. Everyone seemed to have been enjoying themselves and their company which isn't a bad thing but for me it was too loud. When it came to the food we ordered beignets as our app to share. Individually, I didn't order anything special, I just wanted a simple breakfast. A single pancake, two eggs, and breakfast potatoes. The single pancake tastes like the beignets so I don't recommend ordering both because they taste the same. It was a good portion size . If my potatoes were better I would've given this 5 stars but they were well over cooked. However I did enjoy myself and the service was good. Next time I'll order a signature dish. read more

Great food and super busy. The sparkling wine is from a keg, the two days we ate here the sparkling wine in our mimosas was flat and warm... other than that we loved it. read more

Why do people wait for over an hour to eat here. The Pros: They do sell drinks you can have while you wait outside, you can join the line online, but you still have to get there in time to tell them you're there, and the food is good. The Cons: The wait, the rushed food, and the wait. I gave up Felix's Oyster house to have breakfast here instead, and I was disappointed. It's not bad, but it's not waste close to 90 minutes of your life standing around waiting to be seated. The Bloody Mary was good, as was the bourbon milk punch as far as drinks go. The Mrs. ordered the BLT which had bacon, fried green tomatoes and other tomatoes too. My Biscuits and Gravy was pathetic. The Biscuits are like 1.5 inches tall, and there was barely any sausage gravy. Picture a toaster strudel icing packet and that's what it seemed like was on the biscuit. I've ordered biscuits and gravy many times in my life, and have never seen less gravy than what they put on. I had to ask for more sausage gravy on the side, which they brought out, but still... just put more on to begin with! The sunny side up eggs that came with the biscuits and gravy had so much runny white part that I couldn't eat it. I love a good yolk, but the slimy raw whites weren't what I wanted. Maybe it's because they thought I was Rocky Balboa and that's why they came out that way??? Who knows so I got a few over easy eggs instead. I added some spicy chicken tenders to go with it and they brought out regular ones. They took it back and tossed it in the sauce and brought the whole plate back out. I just happen to hate when they take the whole meal back to fix one thing. I could have been eating the other items. When my plate of 3 items has 3 things wrong, I can't give it 5 stars. The food was good enough for me not to give it 1 or 2 stars, so 3 stars seems about right. For a place that has a line because it's the best breakfast ever, I have to disagree with the masses. I'd go back to French Toast just for the bacon and toast alone, but I don't think I'd go back here when visiting NOLA. read more

Definitely worth an hour wait on a rainy Saturday morning. We actually seated an hour early after the quoted time after so that was an added bonus. Staff were all friendly, accommodating and fast on their feet. One of our items were missing a shrimp sauce and the waitress quickly fixed it. The three sauces on the trifecta were all so delicious and flavorful. A definite must for next time. The ambiance was super chill and relaxed; everyone was having a good time, staff and diners. Good music in the background that wasn't too loud. All in all, so glad to have visited and totally understand why friends were saying this was a breakfast spot to try. read more

OMG! 2 days in a row now because the food, service and ambiance. I came with my family my 1st day in New Orleans as a group of 7. We checked in and were quoted 1.5 hours. In actuality, it was about 20 minutes. When seated, we were greeted by our server who was hearing impaired, and she told us to look at her while placing the order. She got everything super quick and food was flying our way a few minutes later; top mentions for the candied bacon, beignets and omelets! Wish I knew her name! Day 2 of my trip, I woke up craving that Omelette again! I made my way without my family and dined by myself at the bar. Ginny at the bar was top notch, give that girl a raise!! I also want to give a shout out to the cocktail server who was working the crowd and of course the shining stars at the door managing a huge crowd, and taking control of getting everyone in and out efficiently! 11/10 stars!! read more

Great brunch spot with tons of locations right by the French Quarter! I would definitely return to try some of their other food as it was huge in portion and obviously well-made. The service was also incredible - our server was super friendly and kind. We came on Christmas Eve and the place was super busy, but thanks to the waitlist, we didn't have to stand outside in the cold for too long. Make sure to put your names on the waitlist if you don't want to be waiting too long! Our waitress took our orders super quickly and also had a ton of recommendations to us, all of which I would've loved to try, but I settled on the eggs benedict platter that lets you try three different ones. We also had the cannoli beignets to share and I loved the cream that came with them while the donuts themselves were deliciously crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The eggs benedicts were unfortunately a little soggy with the base, making the texture less than desirable honestly. The flavor though of each was great and I am glad I got a chance to try them, but I think maybe in the future I'll get something else to try. Thanks, Ruby's! If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely be back! read more

We were told by Chris our tour guide this was a must stop for breakfast. So when in New Orleans... Indoor/outdoor seating. Very nice artwork and decor. We toggled should we sit inside our out. It was nice either way. Very busy establishment, so some leeway was given. The service was very nice the food was a little wait, but we just took in the scenery and chatted the food was well plated and hot. Now that I'm back home in New York, I want to click my shoes twice and be back at the Ruby Slipper Cafe. Dining here was one of the highlights of our trip. I brought my two sons and father in law to New Orleans for a bachelor party-getaway. The first hard charging nite on Bourbon st and my sons couldn't handle it. Me? I am ready for round two! I text my father in law and told him to meet me in the lobby 7:30am for breakfast. If you think you're going to waltz into the Ruby Slipper Cafe at 10am? Yeah good luck with that plan. It's at least a 45 minute wait. I'm savvy enough to bum rush the hostess stand early in the morning. Sure enough, two seats at the counter are free. I need a hang over plate so I order the biscuits and gravy plate with a side of hot chicken. Hot sausage gravy smothering two freshly made biscuits is just what I need to get the party re-started. The breakfast entree also came with eggs and a fried green tomato. It was a fantastic meal and I was able to have some alone time with my father in law. I told my sons when they woke up, we had the best meal here! Now they want to come back. Everyone knows the rules, be up early to snag a table. The next day I ordered Bacon Praline Pancakes with a cup of their outrageous coffee. We're sitting outside and at 9am on a Sunday, it's easily a 90 minute wait. My pancakes? Soooo good! I look at my father in law, he ordered the same meal I did from a few days ago? My sons are happy, this was a good time had by all of us. A great bonding experience, no amount of money can offer this quality time. The Ruby Slipper Cafe was one of the spots that gave our trip some great memories. read more

The food! The service. The location. All perfection. Always a good meal at any of the locations. This is my favorite location!

This place is a MUST to try. Satisfied by everything, the greeter, the service, the food, the alcohol. For a place that is ridiculously busy, even with MULTIPLE location, they did not disappoint. The wait is probably the most disappointing thing but sometimes you have to wait for what you want (: They do not take reservations but there is an online list to add your name to, then when you arrive you HAVE to check in or they won't know you're waiting -- so i'm not sure if that's beneficial though. We did that and was given a two hour wait BUT they sat us in one hour. They asked where we wanted to sit, we didn't care at the moment but there are some cons with sitting outside. Like the crowd outside, the loudest of those waiting, bugs, traffic, as outdoor seating is essential on an elevated platform on the street, the sun changing positions, etc. So choose what you can deal with. Food was amazing. I hate grits but something told me to get the crawfish and grit cake benedict... AMAZING and they don't skimp you on the seafood in any dish. My friend and mom got the seafood and grits, they finally found a shrimp and grits that didn't let them down, it kind ruined their experience trying other places shrimp and grits after that lol My brother got the Create your own omelet! no complaints. The mimosa flight was clutch $20ish (didn't get a pic- too busy making cheers videos lol) the fall season flight is lavender, blood orange, cinnamon apple pie, and forgot what the green one was... My brother got the boozy coffee latte. Service was on point, even with a crazy crowd. read more
