I was visiting Wytheville for a week and had three meals at Ruby Tuesday's. Our Tuesday waitress is amazing! She remembers the smallest details and consistently provides great service. The cheeseburgers are quite flavorful and worth ordering. Cooked just right too! My dinner takeouts? One was good and one not so good. The queso dip was about 1/4 cup full---less than half of what was needed for the chips. Both nights they forgot the drinks!! When you're visiting town, you need drinks to wash your food down!! I am grossed out. We got sat at a table that was very tacky and sticky when I asked the waitress to wipe it gown she said that the tables just all feel that way. I then asked another waitress who was cleaning a table behind us if the table she was wiping was also sticky she said yes. She added that someone used the wrong cleaner a while ago and it has left the tables that way. Also that they were suppose to be making renovations but that they never happened so the floor and lights were not done either. It is really gross how the tables are. I took a baby wipe out of my bag and wiped the table and it had black gross stuff all over it. I can eat there with tables like that it is disgusting and very unsanitary!! read more

This place is amidst a bunch of fast-food emporia on a road near Fort Lee (VA, The Confederacy), an Army post. I guess Ruby wants to emulate the surrounding mise-en-scene rather than be distinguished from it. Their competition is the likes of McDonald's, Shoney's, Denny's and Waffle House. They succeeded. If you want good food outside of the home go to a good restaurant. There's nothing like a good restaurant ... and this is nothing like a good restaurant. $20 for a small steak, small potato and a few over-fried "onion rings" is too much. Used to be the salad bar - a modest effort, standardized among all Ruby Tuesdays (no, for the questionably literate among you, "Tuesdays" is plural and does NOT need an apostrophe) - was included. Not any more. It is tacked on to your blll as a "nuisance fee" of $3, which, given the low cost of the items thereon, is pure profit for a place already making considerable lucre on the $20 steak which you can probably get wholesale for $5... Also, charging $3 for what is nothing more than flavored water (iced tea) is also pretty greedy. BTW, wasn't asked about whether I wanted to "add" a salad bar, so the $3 (which is insignificant, while the principal isn't) became an automatic nuisance charge. The table was sticky. I don't care why: it is unappetizing. Fix it. Oh sorry; that means spending a few dollars. How foolish of me. Server was pleasant enough, I guess. Difficult business to work in. If a chain decides to up its prices to "real" restaurant levels, it better produce the quality of a "real" restaurant. This doesn't. False advertisement!!!! They have window stickers that state $2 Domestic Beers but only at the bar. I walked in with a friend and we sat at the bar and I didn't even think twice to ask about the $2 Domestic Beers at the bar (which is what they were advertising). It was AFTER we received the bill that the bartender told us that, that special stopped at 9pm and I went back and looked at the sign and it said until close! If your question is "... Well did you get the difference taken off of your bill after you spoke with a manager?" Then the answer is NO! I would NEVER EVER!!! The five stars is for the southern fried chicken tender dinner I had at lunch today. I was the first person to try this new recipe of brined REAL tenderloin chicken breaded and fried to perfection. Service was pretty good no complaints there. Very clean restaurant which is definitely a must. They accomadated us well after we left the dump buffalo wild wings and turned on baseball for us and everything. I ordered a classic burger which came pretty quick. The fries were perfectly cooked and salted but the burger fell just short because the patty was cooked too long and was dry. The bun, and condiments were fresh. Wow - I have to say this place has made a dramatic improvement. The staff now appear they wish to work there. They give you great service. You still smash your face on the salad bar glass, but the manager said he was working to replace/fix that. Keep this improvement up and I will give them a fifth star. read more

I have only dined in once, but I have done a pick up order a few times. Portions are decent sized, timeliness of my order being ready is always good (which is always nice), and I have not had anything incorrect with any of the food I ordered. The spinach dip is good as well as the burger I ordered. Obviously it's not a fine dining restaurant, but the price does not reflect it either. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch or take out especially. I think I've had the same bartender cash me out/take my order a few times and she's always lovely. read more

Well my wife told me we were going out to eat and she wanted to go to Ruby Tuesday. Well I didn't have much say in the matter, so off we went . As we were pulling into the parking lot I ask her why here. She told me she had a $10 coupon and we have not been here in a couple of months. Then she said don't you need to do a review on that yelp thingy your addicted to. So I just nicely said this will do just fine and yes I could a update. So with that out of the way we walk in and are promptly seated and given menus. Not long after that our waitress delivers some type of bread I think it was biscuits. So we place our orders and then we head to the salad bar. And I will say I do love their salad bar as they have stuff other places do not have. So I finish my wonderful salad which I made to big, I really was near full. That's my problem with their salad bar I can make a meal out of it. Anyway our food comes out to us my wife got the classic BBQ baby back ribs. And I got the salmon with the mashed cauliflower. My wife's ribs were tender and very tasty and her baked potato was good and hot. Now you ask how would I know how her meal taste. Well she can never finish her meal so I get to finish it. So on to my salmon it was cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. Now the cauliflower it rocked it had a nice buttery taste, it was nothing I expected. Need less to say it was more then I could eat, so we boxed it up and I had it for lunch the next day. So we will definitely be back sometime soon and my even partake in a few drinks. read more

We went here for lunch. I thought they went to another Ruby Tuesdays to go get the food! Holy cow they were slow. It wasnt that busy but it took almost an hour for the food to begin to arrive! Drinks? FUGETABOUTIT! I wont be back, what a waste. I think this is where the Waffle House employees from the Colonial Heights location trained. It takes real work to anger us like that. read more

In the past 10 months, we have been to this restaurant a dozen times. Only two times did we have good service. Many-Many times the service was sub-par, but this restaurant is only 2 miles from our house and the food is tasty Last night, our experience takes the cake. First we ordered ice water with lemon three additional times we reminded our server that we wanted lemon wedges. We ordered soup and a bunch of appetizers. Soup came with no crackers, so my better half went to the salad bar to get some crackers for our soup. The soup, by the way was luke warm-at best! Our order of wings came with no blue cheese dressing. And our other appetizers came with no ranch as we ordered. The boneless wings were so salty, that we could not finish eating them. The appetizers didn't come with any saucers to eat them with, we improvised and used the saucer that came with our bowl of soup. But, the things that irritates me most, is that our server walked by our table a dozen times with the dirty dishes pilled up and not once said "can I take these dishes away?" Honestly, I think most of the workers here are not properly trained in how to wait on people. I hope this helps others, but know that it won't change a thing. read more

Went there last night while out with my wife. We were heading to a concert at the Beacon Theater. Kind of a date night for us. We requested to sit in the bar area and were promptly seated. Tables hadn't been bussed but that was quickly taken care off. Waitress came and greeted us and took our drink orders. We decided to try a couple of different appetizers. Ordered the sampler and shrimp dip. Didn't take long and they were at the table. The reason for the 2 star review is due to the amount of salt on everything. I realize a lot of people just add salt to everything even without tasting it. My wife and I use little salt and just add it if necessary to add flavor. All we could taste was the salt. When we were able to get a taste without as much salt the flavors were delicious. Less salt and we would come back again, but not sure this will happen. read more

Greasy greasy and can I say greasy again. I've never complained about food before but this was that bad. Spinach artichoke dip was pretty bad, even 1/2 hour later the chips still glistened with grease and my fingers were oily. The burger was ok but somewhat greasy as well. read more

Stopped in at this location for an early dinner (5-ish) and had the salad bar. It looked like most of the items had been sitting out all day. The lettuces were wilty and the cucumbers had been sitting around so long they were turning translucent. The potato salad actually looked crusty. The dressing seemed watered down and the croutons had an oddly bitter taste like rancid oil. Maybe their other food is good, but I definitely can't recommend the salad bar. I am a huge fan of ruby tuesday, I usually enjoy their food. But this particular one in Virginia was the worst I've had. First off I sat at the bar with a friend and one of the bartenders was extremely rude. She kept rolling her eyes and gave us sass as we ordered. Secondly the salad bar looked like a battlefield. Most of the things didn't look fresh either. Thirdly my food wasn't prepared well. My steak tasted boiled and they overdid my shrimp. Lastly they gave my friend some skunky beer and heard him complain, still did nothing to help a customer. Do not go to this ruby Tuesday. read more

Like most millennials, I don't expect much from a chain restaurant. 3oz steaks and freezer food? Not for me. Well let me tell you, Ruby Tuesday in Fort Lee restored my hope in this old American Tradition. Being around mainly fast food joints, The Rubes was basically my only option for a sit down meal. So I said to myself, "why not." As I got in the car, I questioned myself once again. "What am I doing," I said to myself as I hit my Juul pod. But, as I do with most things, I proceeded to do it anyways. I pull up to Ruby Tuesday, and I started having flashbacks from ten years ago when times were simpler. When Bud Light made sense, when people still had landline phones. And suddenly I was at one with myself, and more importantly, American Corporate oppression. I walk in and get a booth close to the bar. Not at the bar, but close. Close enough to cut down on the wait time for my drinks, but far enough away to not have to listen to other people's conversations. In millennial fashion, I ask about the craft beer list. They have none. Fuck. So I order a Coors, because I still love those blue mountains. Damn was it cold. For my entree, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. As I said before, I wasn't expecting much. I knew with that mindset I wouldn't be terribly disappointed. But, this was unnecessary. The burger was juicy, the fries were sexy, and the ranch I ordered on the side was lit. Ruby Tuesday changed my whole style of thinking. The sky seemed bluer than usual. The air smelled a little less toxic. This is the worse service that I have ever had in 37 years of my life. A group of co wokers and I around 9 of us went to this resturant today and actually they forgot to put my order in!!! As we sat there at the bar and watched them prepare our food we saw cooks grabbing fries with there hands and wiping there nose then handling our food. All of my coworkers got there food really late and one of there burgers was really really raw/rare. I asked to speak to the manager and they said he was to busy to speak with me. My first introduction to the restaurant staff were the two waitresses each having a cigarette near the dumpster in the parking lot (before returning back to their shifts). Greeted at the door by two waitresses ( one of whom just had the cigarette so I would assume she didn't have time to wash her hands). that apologized for not being able to seat me. They both said ( and different times) that "she'll be right back". So, whoever "she" is apparently had the power to walk me to one of the many empty tables and hand me a menu. Well, you'll be glad to know that she did arrive. However , on the way to my table I noticed one of the waitresses ( that didn't have the power or expertise to seat me) walked up to the famous salad bar and helped herself to a quarter of a tomato. She placed said ' mater into her bare hand. I then watched her walk around the salad bar and utilize a salt shaker to season her snack. Maybe not the best etiquette in any dining room, especially one with customers. I ordered a half rack of bbq ribs and asked my server if she could promise me fresh, hot fries. Well, ribs were great. Fries came out cold. And I hate cold fries . Anyway , the server made it right ( although I was about finished with my meal by the time the hot fries arrrived.....and it probably would have been a great opportunity for the manager on duty to make an appearance. Maybe even comp my soft drink or something. My plates weren't pre bussed either. Maybe my expectations were too high for a moderately priced chain. So, ribs were good . My waitress was attentive but Staff ( and the shift manager) could use a lot of training. read more

I stopped by for a late night dinner with my daughter after moving her out of her apt all day in Richmond. We debated about going back to Richmond and grabbing a bite but we were exhausted. I've been here a few times in the past and had a decent meal sitting at the bar. We opted for a booth and then the nightmare began. The queso dip is disgusting - pretty sure it came out of a jar. Then our entrees came - well, just my daughters, mine didn't appear. Then the waiter Kyle came and presented me a plate of pork versus chicken and said he had accidentaly given my chicken to another diner and would I eat the pork or I could wait another 20 minutes for my chicken. I said, forget it, I'll eat my salad, but can I have another glass of wine. Time to redeem yourself Kyle, but no, the wine never came so I caught up with him at the bar chattting with a coworker and asked for the check. Very slow service. Waited 10 minutes or more for some one to approach our table and asked the hostess if she could get us a waitress. She tried but the staff were too busy talking among themselves to be interrupted. After another 10 minutes we left. There was more staff than customers - wonder why? read more

We had 7 people in our party and we waited several minutes for them to push the tables together. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Didn't wait long for food. Salad bar was good. Buffalo chicken was good. Hamburger was good and juicy. The only thing we didn't like was that they gave the ketchup for the fries to us in tiny metal tins and the kids kept needed more.
