This place has a very retro feel to it. You can get carhop service in the parking lot if you want, although I didn't go when they had it. Upon walking in, it's got vintage posters, gumball machines, retro chairs. It's all very cute and gets you into the "vibe" of the restaurant. Staff was friendly and very prompt, despite how busy it was when I went. Food was great too. I ordered an albacore melt and it was pretty tasty. I'll admit I like my bread to be crisper but this was just fine. Garlic fries definitely hit the spot if you love garlic. This is by far my favorite Ruby's. It's super cute, and homey on the inside. It doesn't feel like a chain, it feels like a neighborhood family restaurant because. I like how it's located right in the neighborhood and not on a busy street corner. I'm interested in the car hop service because I've been here quite a bit and have yet to see anyone use it. I was thrilled to watch this place as it was being built so close to my home. It's nice to bring a little of coastal OC to Anaheim. I have always been a fan of Ruby's and mostly go for breakfast. I went over the weekend to this nice, new location and took the niece and nephew. It's all pretty and shiny inside. They also had a car hop section for burgers and fries. They have a great kids menu that had 3D activities (with 3D glasses). As a big kid myself, you know I was playing right along with them. The kids and I were sufficiently entertained. Thanks Ruby's! Never ordering takeout again! My wife ordered the low carb tacos with no cilantro and I got a Kobe beef cobb burger with garlic fries. Went all the way home only to realize the tacos were covered in cilantro. Given the fact that the salsa is what contains the cilantro and we asked for the salsa on the side, someone probably dumped salsa in the tacos and tried to scrape it out after making the mistake. Went back to Rubys to complain and they refunded me the meal and gave me coupons for a free breakfast. The manager was really cool about the whole thing and felt bad about the mistake. Still a real pain to have to go back. Now on to the food. The burger was horribly made. Dry patty and the bleu cheese was only on one side of the burger. The garlic fries just had on large clump of garlic on top of it and the garlic was clearly out of a jar and not fresh. The chicken in the tacos were dry and I couldn't believe I made two trips to Rubys for this! I guess any restaurant that has to put on so much "show" (drive in car service, servers on roller skates and the whole 50's vibe) has got something to cover up. Never tried Ruby's before so my fiancé took me to this place for my birthday last Thursday (he knows how fond I am of diners), and I must say, the atmosphere is awesome! From the art decor on the walls down to the retro coat/hat hanger stands. Although I can't give the same review on their whole entire menu (as I have yet to try their whole menu ;] ), the Dijon Turkey Burger was great, this is the first time someone gave me a straight "yes" when I asked for a gluten-free bun. 5 stars for the service! Our server, Felipe, was nothing short of amazing! He would check in on us to make sure we found everything okay, our cups were filled with beverages, if we needed any condiments that weren't already on our table. The manager also stopped by to greet us and asked if we were enjoying ourselves and to let him or our server know if we needed anything else. We have been coming to this location for many times, and we have always enjoyed the food and the service. But today it was not our day I think.... It was a Sat morning, and we were seated right away, which was great! The first, the booth that we were given had a sticky seats with some like a jelly on it or a syrup, I don't know. So we asked for another one. There was so much dust on the rail, so it definitely has to be cleaned!! Then I got a dirty cup of coffee with some pink lipstick on it from the previous customer...... That just made me so angry and ruined my mood for the rest of the day........ no comments..... my husband's cup was also cracked and had a broken handle..... The staff is always nice! That's for sure! But even after the food I've had a terrible stomach pain, which I've never had before...... The coffee was also disappointing. So, I really think that it was not my day, but also there are some things that have to be taken care of a bit better. I ordered a super burger and it wasn't very super. The sourdough that was used on the burger was slightly burnt, not badly but enough that I could taste the burnt flavor. It was also somewhat bland with the cheese being the only thing I could taste. The fries were alright though, and so was the ice cream cone although I think it was priced at almost $2 personally I think it is a bit overpriced with McDonald's ice cream being $1 and tasting slightly better. The chocolate shake was great though no complaints about that one at all. Overall 2/5 because that burger was the main part of the meal and the taste was bland so it brought down the rest of the meal. read more

Decided to stop here for food and it was not a disappointment at all. This is a super cute diner that almost reminded me of movies from the 60's or 70's. The interior is so cute and the waitresses are even dressed up! The menu has a good selection of food. Turkey burgers, beef burgers, veggie sandwiches, chicken and fish options! Our group loved our food so much. The burgers were super filling and juicy. The fries were super good as well. Sorta reminded us at McDonalds but less greasy. The service is really good as well. I really enjoyed having breakfast here! It's was mine and my husbands first time at this restaurant and looking at the menu we had a hard time deciding what to have! Best Ruby's I've been to by far. The staff was very, very friendly! Our waitress was very sweet! Super clean place. It just seemed a lot cleaner than the other Ruby's locations I've been to. And oh - they have coat hangers at this one so you don't have to roll your jackets and coats on the seats. On to the food -- I got the Texas Grilled Cheese sandwich with fries. Good stuff. The bread was toasted just perfectly. Plenty of flavor in the sandwiches - loved them! The whole unlimited fries deal they always have is awesome as well! I just wish the fries were a bit thicker though, just the way I like them... but nonetheless, awesome stuff! As much as I wanted to get their milkshakes though, I was rather full already and I didn't want to be walk out overly full, so I will definitely get them the next time I go to Ruby's. I ordered the chicken tenders dinner (so it's a full-size), and the chicken was lightly battered so the tenders end up crisp and GBD as I broke such tenders in half and the cajun fries were just out of this world (I don't do coleslaw that often). The tenders combo come with six pieces of meat, so it was a good thing I didn't have much to eat for breakfast this morning except for a coffee cake I had at Starbucks across the street from Ruby's. The waitress, Thelma, I think her was her name, was very kind, as she took my drink order, before I'd perused through the menu. I was going to go for the Sriracha burger like last time when I was at South Coast Plaza, but I thought today, I'll go with chicken instead of beef. Will I return or just go back to South Coast since the South Coast Plaza location is a little closer to where I am? First time at this Ruby's location. Driving by I saw the sign and pulled in to a very nice and well lit parking lot. Came in and ordered a root beer float and the chicken turkey club sandwich. The hostess was extremely nice greeting me as I came in and my servers Tice and Patrick both gave me amazing service. Food came out fast and for a diner, it was well above any Denny's or Norms restaurant in terms of quality and service go. We've always remembered Ruby's as having good shakes, food, and fries, so when we want to go out for something a bit more than the local McDonald's, we'd come here. The new Ruby's in Anaheim has drive-up dining... well THIS I had to try - at least once in my life. The waiters/waitresses wear rollerskates, and your food tray sits on the window of your car.
