Meatloaf with ketchup sauce 2 sides (au gratin potatoes and mac n cheese)and fresh roll
    Doreen B.

Sometimes you just want a hot meal that was not made by you!!! Well during this absence of social interaction, looking at your friends and loved ones. Russ was quite welcoming over the intercom. My only regret with Russ's is that I never came in and sit down to eat and conversate with the staff. So this is my experience ... a lot of people in drive- thrus are ho hum and sometimes disgruntle. I was greeted with a happy and welcoming voice. I had never gone to Russ's before, so I asked a lot of questions regarding the meals. I was interested in the meatloaf. For $9.50 I was able to get a piece of meatloaf ( quite a large serving ) , scalloped potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and a warm roll. I enjoyed everything that I ordered. I was having a bad day and I just needed a homecooked meal without me cooking it. I also ordered a pumpkin pie at the window. The pumpkin pie was spiced pretty well. The next visit, I ordered a coconut pie, pumpkin muffins pack and a big of rolls. I really enjoy the rolls. I like to warm them in the microwave for bout 10-15 seconds and a some salted butter. The coconut pie, was different then must I have ordered. If you like whip cream, a lot of whip cream then this is your pie! Well I guess any of their cream pies, would come with this much whip. The texture was more of a custard, or cheese cake. It was more on the vanilla tasting side, not really coconut. Regardless I liked it, but my guest wished it tasted more like coconut. Pumpkin muffins were moist, with nuts, and spices. It was really great coffee and playing pathfinder with friends on disscord. The third visit, I ordered a bag of rolls to accompany my homemade meatloaf and I also ordered the snowcap pie piece, and more pumpkin muffins. I have been very satisfied with the service and the food at this fine establishment. I kept coming back for more.. didn't I .

5 Stars all the way around. Greeted and seated right away at lunch on a Saturday. This was our first visit to a Russ's and it won't be our last. MY wife ordered cold drink and the Meatloaf stacker and added fries. I ordered coffee, water, and the Big Dutchman Supreme (comes with Bacon, Swiss cheese, Lettuce Tomato and mayo- I skipped the mayo) adding fries and coleslaw. Drinks came out fast and the coffee was hot and fresh. Never had to wait for a refill. Great service. The waitress brought out my coleslaw in two dishes ( just in case I wanted to share with my wife ). Of course I did. It was fantastic. Crispy, cold and very fresh tasting. The coleslaw alone is worth a return visit. Our food followed shortly. I like to rate burgers so these are my opinions only and may not suit everyone. I had the option of a 3rd or a 1/2 pound patty. I opted for the 1/2. The patty was hand formed and seasoned, cooked medium and had great flavor. Toppings were fresh and tasted great. Bacon was perfectly cooked. The bun was a gourmet bun that was buttered but not toasted ( in my opinion, a toasted bun would make a home run burger taste like a grand slam burger). And like everyone else, a slice of processed Swiss cheese. This where the burger fell a bit short. I get economy and all, but a slice of real cheese on a burger is a must. The meatloaf stacker was rated by my wife as outstanding. The brown gravy was out of this world. the meatloaf was well seasoned and perfect. So a winner there. The french fries were skinny and served with the plate on mine and in a bowl for my wife. They were very good , so a A+ there. We had our desert to go so more on that later. All and all an outstanding experience and great food. Worthy of another visit.

Russ' has a reputation for attracting a geriatric crowd, and the Monday night I went was no exception. There was no wait, and was seated immediately. Friday and Saturday nights you may have to wait a few minutes for a table. There is also a drive thru and take out available. The food selection is quite varied, and very reasonably priced. They have several items that rotate on a seasonal basis. Most of the items are prepared to order, and are quite good. Service is OK. On my last visit, drinks lingered empty for just a tad longer than they should have, as well as some empty dishes. Food came quickly, as did the polite request to leave. Dinner was barely half eaten when the waitress was asking about desert. When we declined, she dropped off the check and never returned. I haven't found this to be typical service in the several times I've been here. Overall, its a good family oriented restaurant. Will certainly continue eating here.

    Food was worth the wait

I was surprised at how long it took for the 2 hosts to greet us - as we were standing directly in front of them. They were talking to one another, and it was probably work related, but to just stand there staring at them for a couple minutes while they ignored us was awkward. When they finally talked to us they weren't very friendly. Anyway, we made our way to the bar and it was full except for 3 seats. I think the bartender waiting on us was new. He seemed like he was pretty overwhelmed/in the weeds. He greeted us quickly and brought us waters when he did, which I appreciated. I ordered a Blackeberry Bourbon Sour and my Mr had Paloma Nuestra. We both enjoyed our drinks they were refreshing and well crafted. For dinner I had a really hard time deciding! I wanted to try so many things! Our bartender said his favorite thing in the menu is the chicken and rice bowl. That was something I was considering and decided to go with that. Excellent recommendation! The chicken was flavorful and so tender. The hot peppers were a nice touch. There was a lot of food too! I couldn't finish it all. Mr had the hanger steak that was served with mushroom and asparagus risotto. He said the risotto was the best he's ever had, and I agree. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and so was the steak. The space is really nice, felt intimate without being overcrowded. We are looking forward to coming back!

I am extremely disappointed in how this establishment treated me and advise others to stay away. If their lack of concern for their customers is this bad, what other quality concerns are they hiding? I really wanted some Indian food today. My workday gets very busy, so I placed a Door Dash order here. I headed out right away since it showed my order would be ready in 15 minutes and did not look at the app further after that. I showed up around the time the order should have been ready, was not greeted, and after I went to the bar to find a staff member, was told by Vishal they were not accepting Door Dash orders. I showed him on my phone that their portal was still open and allowed me to place a confirmed order. At this time he pointlessly ushered me into their kitchen to show me their iPad with their DoorDash portal was turned off. Again, I let him know it allowed me to place an order and he should please turn off their portal if he does not want orders coming through. Vishal seems to thing turning off the DoorDash iPad and ignoring if orders are placed qualifies as closing their portal. Vishal was insincere and apathetic in response to my concerns. I wasted the small amount of time I had to pick up food during my work day on this mediocre experience. The only positive is that when I reported to DoorDash that the restaurant was closed, I received a refund. That says much more about the customer service of DoorDash however, and is not a positive reflection on this establishment. If Vishal shows such a lack of care for customers trying to spend money with him, I probably dodged a bullet by not having the opportunity to try their food. I will never again intentionally darken the door of this establishment.

Hello! I am very pleased to offer a review of Anna's House Grandville. I'm not gonna lie, this is…read morenot my first review. My first review was a terrible review because they had not learned their tablet system yet. My wife convinced me to come back anyway, and the second time I was hooked on aunt Anna's house. Unfortunately, after attending several years together and eating the finest of foods, my wife passed away in November 2024. I miss her dearly but one day I summoned the nerve to go in there on my own. It was right after my second of five surgeries I've had since November. I walked in and I was just recovering and I felt terrible, but I felt the need to go to church. So I stumbled in slowly and said to the server I just had surgery and I'm in no hurry and yet I'm in a hurry I don't know what I'm in... The servers name was Angie and the rest is history, it turned out. She: had had five surgeries of her own, and she was an empath all the way. Hugged me, made me feel welcome, introduced me to two other awesome servers, and their names are Victoria and another one of my favorites Avery. Avery is the one I call "a very good time." Now some might take exception to that nickname, but Avery loved it. And me and her can do no wrong with each other even though she's 50 years older than me. She not only is a great server, but she's my counselor there. I was having some LUV problems and Avery straightened me out. And if she didn't, Angie would've. And then Victoria is a content developer for Instagram, which I think that's just a normal user of Instagram but she's really cool and I think she didn't liked me at first. I said "Are we ok?" and she looked at me and said YES... so now next time I'm gonna ask for her to serve me because she is the bomb. Now the food is the real draw at Anna's House. Their menu cannot be topped. They have items for everybody from serious meat eaters to prudent young vegan eaters. Having mentioned the surgery during Nov-Apr, my system has sort of reset, and now I crave healthy foods. So the last time I've gone to Anna's, I've gotten Açai Power Bowl, which was great and then an another power bowl, which they have on the menu. You cannot go wrong with either one and on each case I could only eat about 3/4 of it because I just felt filled and satisfied from them. Being an egg, bacon, toast, pancake, kind of guy, this departure from my norm was, well, I never saw it coming. So just to summarize here the four people I know at Anna's house: Angie, the manager of seating and serving; Callie, the general manager, Victoria server level one, and Avery server level zero if there's such a thing... Oh never mind we'll just give her one as as well as Victoria. And if you want entertainment choose Victoria, but if you want care and compassion that would be Avery. A very good time... Lol. So if you're there on a Sunday, you'll probably see me. I'm gonna put a couple of pics down below and I'm sure you're gonna go. Oh that dude well, I'm staying clear that restaurant...

Hubby ordered the breakfast lasagna. Never saw that before. It was an egg casserole - layered eggs, spinach, sundried tomatoes, basil, mushrooms, turkey sausage and ricotta cheese. Hubs gave it two thumbs up. I had a half order of Anna's healthy baked oatmeal with dried cherries and raisins served with steamed almond milk to pour on top. Very good. To start with the positives: parking was easy and the restaurant itself is beautiful. We were a party of five with a reservation and were seated promptly. Since it was our first visit, we let our server know we needed a few minutes to review the menu. However, she didn't offer any suggestions or highlight popular dishes. When we asked about a specific appetizer, her only comment was: "Yeah, some people order it and it's pretty big." We kept our order simple--no alcohol, no substitutions, and we made it clear how we wanted to split the checks. Despite that, service throughout the meal was lacking. No one offered refills, and we had to flag down the server twice just to get hot sauce. We ordered items like the Turkey Club, a Burger, a quesadilla, French dip and a pasta dish. We also splurged and ordered a few appetizers. Our only dislike was the quesadilla. It was hard, bland and no toppings offered for the price you pay. Everything else tasted great. Given the beautiful setting, I had hoped for a more polished and attentive dining experience, especially for a birthday dinner. The fact that our server didn't even acknowledge the birthday celebration felt a little disconnected. Although it's not required of course but it would have been nice.

We were greeted by our awesome server and ordered some food -- two different mortadella sandwiches and an order of fried pickles to start. Neither of us ordered drinks, but I saw some fun-looking cocktails coming over to nearby tables. The fried pickles came out first and they were perfection. I don't usually get this appetizer because I don't like fried pickle spears, but these were thin chips. The ratio of the fried pickle chip vs. spear is way better. And these came with the best runny ranch. It was a huge portion to split between the two of us, so we had lots left over. Our sandwiches came out shortly after and looked amazing. They were super stacked with tons of meat! I really liked the addition of the grainy mustard which helped cut through the fattiness of the meat. My friend liked hers - it had pistachio butter and ricotta (similar to a delicious sandwich I ate at a wine bar in Detroit). Portions are large and it's a cozy, neighborhood spot.
