What can I say...my Nonna would be proud. I don't actually have a Nonna, but after eating here I feel like I should Rustica doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's exactly what I love about it. No culinary gymnastics, no trying to reinvent Italian food. Just a big menu with plenty of options, good portions and food that consistently does what it came here to do. My two favorites are the cheese pizza and the Italian submarine. Cheese Pizza 10/10 Simple. Consistent. Delicious. Nothing overly complex about it and there doesn't need to be. Sometimes you just want a really good cheese pizza that hits the spot every single time. Rustica does that. Italian Submarine 10/10 "Rig ship for dive." This thing is an absolute UNIT. By far my favorite sub sandwich. Whoever is making these clearly knows how to eat. Perfectly layered, beautifully presented and built so every bite actually gets a little bit of everything. Nothing is just thrown onto bread and called a sandwich. There's architecture happening here A must try. Overall Rustica is just easy to like. It isn't pretending to be something it's not. My husband was craving an Italian sub sandwich and insisted in coming here, and I'm glad we did! When we parked, the dark tint on the storefront threw me off and I thought that they were closed, but they were open! When we walked in on a Sunday night, we were the only ones there. I wasn't sure what to expect. It looks like a sports bar with TVs and sports memorabilia everywhere. There were probably 2 people working. I ordered fettucine alfredo with shrimp and my husband ordered the Italian sub...which is why we came in the first place. Fettucine normally comes with an option of chicken, but I asked if they had shrimp available, and they said yes. The pasta came with a small side salad. I was pleasantly surprised when my fettucine alfredo came with huge portions of shrimp! The sizes of shrimp definitely did not disappoint! Also, their sauce tasted homemade and was so delicious. It was one of the best fettucine alfredo's I've had! I'm glad I found my go to spot next time I'm craving fettucine alfredo! Also, my husband was very pleased with his italian sub sandwich and fries. I stopped by Rustic Pizzeria after getting my car washed at Sparkle, which is just a quick two-minute walk away. I honestly didn't know what to expect but figured I'd check it out. I asked if they sold pizza by the slice, and although it's not something that's listed on the menu or advertised out front, they told me they did--which was a nice surprise. The person who took my order was really friendly, and my slice came out quickly in a box, which made it super convenient. Most importantly--the pizza was great. The pizza crust was not too thick and not too thin. The cheese was really good and the pizza was cooked just right. Been passing by this area but never went in until today. We were greeted by a man I'm guessing is the owner. My sons loves pizza so we ordered then I saw the sicilian pizza which according to him, they use double dough so its thick. Got the meatlovers Sicilian and for sure there are leftovers to bring home. They make their own sauce so I also got the lasagna which is an old family recipe. I dont know why I never went there sooner. Food is great, service is great as well. Order was not delivered, so I called about half hour after and he said he read it too fast and thought it was pick up. He apologized and included a free dessert which was nice. I understand mix ups, so I was ok with it. I ordered wings hot extra crispy, turkey sub and Stromboli. The wings were not tossed at all, it's like they were tossed in Tabasco and it melted off , they were plain and chewy. Not sure if it's because they sat around for my delivery, I'm assuming they would have remade them due to the error. Stromboli was great but undercooked. I threw it in the air fryer for 8 minutes and it was perfect. Sub was good. Ordered 2 large pizza, bucket of wings, fingers and fries. Nothing was good. I've spent the last hour finishing cooking the pizza, fries and wings as none of them were cooked til done. The chicken fingers were done but it almost seemed like they were done earlier today and just sitting in oil/grease and reheated.
