I came here with a friend on a Thursday at 12 pm, luckily not a long wait (5 minutes) since it was a nice day out, we decided to sit outside. My friend recommended this place so many times and I finally caved to try it and I'm so glad I did. Hip old diner feel, if that makes any sense lol the service was fast and staff was nice! EATS: They have this 57 cent? dip/ spread deal that's comes with crackers, the seasonal dip was cream cheese with apples and some other goodies- I didn't take a picture of it but I did eat it all. I think that's a fun and cheap add on appetizer before your meal! TUSCAN KALE AND TURKEY SALAD- so yummy, you can't tell by the picture but this was a big salad, I only finished about a 3rd and ate the rest for dinner. The salad had baby kale, l turkey, parmesan cheese, dried cranberries, candied pecans, avocado and homemade croûtons with a l lemon poppy seed vinaigrette, it was fresh and delicious and I would order again! They have an extensive menu for any type of foodie and also serve alcohol! I'm excited to come back and bring my husband :)

We went back recently to try other items, but sadly didn't fully enjoy what we got this round. Our server was very sweet and attentive, that was an improvement from our first experience. The quesadilla was my favorite out of this trip. It's a nontraditional take on a supposed Mexican flair which is more Italian if that. It had eggplant, zucchini, and roasted bell peppers in addition to cheese. Oddly they seem to have forgotten the slice of fruit they usually include in every entree. The enchilada on the other hand was not for me. It tasted nothing like what you'd expect and had beans that they use in their veggie chili. I don't think enchiladas are supposed to have beans. The entire flavor was just off despite there being an abundance of food. I regret getting the hummingbird cake instead of the boysenberry pie, bc it was boring and dry. It's similar to carrot cake with less nutrition, lol. I appreciate Rutabegorz's approach to serving healthier food and always trying to squeeze some fiber through fruit and lettuce leaves. However, the flavor is just not quite right most of the time.

We came for the apple pie, ended up trying the quesadilla and the special monthly dip they have this month. I mean for the price, the dip was pretty good with carrot sticks! The quesadilla was delicious and filling! The salsa and guacamole went so well with it. My favorite dish was what we initially came for, the apple pie! A slice of it was enough to share, but I think I can easily enjoy the whole slice myself next time. We added the ice cream to it and every bite of the pie was sweet (not too sweet) and delicious. I love the crumbly pie pastry on top and the apple was cooked just right. We sat out on the patio, enjoyed good food with great company. Our family had a good time here. I should also give a shout out to our waitress, Olivia, and the older man that came to seat us! The service here is impeccable. They made sure we had our table set up, enough chairs, water for everyone just as we were getting settled, and just friendly faces all around.

I love this location, I've been attending this restaurant for years now. It is such a cute, and quaint place located in Old Town Tustin. The service is great and the food is tasty. It sort of reminds me of childhood, going to that elderly neighbors home that is so inviting, it feels like a "warm hug". I typically attend for the garlic chicken salad as well as a strawberry margarita however, today it was just the beverage. I have been meaning to post a review, but I always forgot except for today If you are looking for lovely service with "comfort food" then I would go here. There is another one located in Orange, but this one serves margaritas when I believe the other one does not. Give it a go!

Oh Ruta's I have supported you for years and now I may reconsider. You guys pride yourself on healthy eating and I just realized the crackers you serve are bioengineered. Ugh, no thank you. Now I question what else is not considered healthy. Bummer!

We came here on a Friday night. I had the Turkey sandwich with hummus and a side of pasta salad. My friend had the turkey club wrap with pasta salad. My friend had a salad. We also tried the apple cobbler and it was delicious. Good food, portions, & service. My friends frequent this restaurant & location.

I've walked by this location a bunch of times. And I've visited the other location a couple times before and I've never been disappointed! I prefer this location more because it is closer to my home and is right next to a large free parking lot. Super easy to grab a spot even during the lunch rush. The inside of this location is super homey. The waiter was also super friendly and welcomed us with a warm greeting. We ordered the 50 cent dip that they have every month. It was an elote style dip and it paired great with their tortilla chips! I will always be ordering the dip as you just can't go wrong with that price! I ordered the BBQ chicken burrito and it was very good! I would have preferred it to be a bit warmer (it's served at room temperature) but it was still delicious. You definitely need to add the sauce to each bite, it's just fantastic! I also appreciated the side pasta salad that came with the burrito. It was also delicious. I will definitely be back here again soon!

There's a reason this restaurant has been serving Orange County, California since the 70's. No matter what you order, you are guaranteed a fresh, clean and well seasoned culinary delight. The vegetables taste like they were harvested outside the back door, as always. The bonus is that your body feels good after eating here. The prices are good and the servings bountiful. The service is attentive and the customers are jovial. Many of the patrons are regulars as evidenced by over heard reminiscences. The ambiance is eclectic and imaginative, like the food. The antique farm tables give a warm and sturdy foundation for the colorful Fiesta ware appetizer dishes. The seasonal decorations are tasteful, framing a view of the outside patio of more happy patrons with a few well behaved dogs. Beautiful stained glass gleams from the corner lighting eclectic art. Dress code is casual. Bathrooms clean. Prices fair. Atmosphere comfortable. A winner! 3 Southern California Locations: Fullerton Orange Tustin All great and consistent.

Love this place. Been coming with my mom since I was in high school. The portions are generous, which is far and few between nowadays. The ambiance is so sweet and wholesome, the menu has literally everything you could need. It's also just simple, see a seat, seat yourself! It's refreshing. Like the salads! I always get the avocado chicken and it's delicious, a full avocado, lots of chicken and raw veggies which I LOVE. And the soups are wonderful. Also, love how many people checked in on me, not just my server, that made me feel seen as a customer. Everybody wants me to enjoy, not just my server. Great in terms of management/service. Love this place, left in a good mood with a happy belly.

Really cute restaurant and service is always amazing! We came on a Wednesday at dinner time and were seated immediately. The menu is expansive, and they also have a seasonal menu. There are lots of vegan and vegetarian options as well. I had the butternut squash ravioli (seasonal menu item) and it was a bit sweet with the squash and walnut filling, but i enjoyed the cheesy broccoli. It came with a cheesy pita bread and that was delicious.

Love this place! Food was amazing and the menu was huge. I got a chipotle wrap, it was just the right amount of food. It tasted clean and I didn't feel heavy after eating it. The cookies were so tempting and couldn't help myself - service is quick and staff is friendly. I recommend this place if you are looking for a nice brunch or lunch place. Do forget to take some cookies home

The atmosphere here is extremely charming and felt like a time capsule. The service was speedy and we were seated immediately for lunch on a Thursday. I ordered the sandwich and soup combo with the tuna sandwich with sourdough and the vegetarian soup of the day which was cheese vegetable. Both were absolutely delightful. The meal also came with pasta salad, and cantaloupe, and pickle. They were all great. The meal felt very good for the price and the dip of the month was also a great addition. I will definitely be returning with the rest of my family.

As for the food, we are more disappointed as vegetarians than meat eaters, I'm sure it'd been a much different mouth experience. Seating consider is around 10 tables plus hjgh top stools, so if you are a large group the wait can be long. We stopped by yesterday to try out some new items, which were a mixed bag. First the Cheese Chicken Roll was surprisingly good. Imagine the Beef Roll and swap things around to get something off of a fancy KFC menu. It features a crispy flaky tortilla outside, wrapped around copious chicken (katsu texture), some lettuce for a crunch, some melted cheese, and then a spicy Thousand-Island type dressing. It all pairs well, has a good chicken portion, and texture variation too. My only desire would be for slightly more lettuce and slightly less cheese, otherwise perfect. Crispy Lotus Root Fries are solid, but not a replacement for typical potato fries. The lotus version was not as crispy or crunchy, but would be an Asian version. It comes with ketchup and the same spicy thousand island dressing as the chicken roll. Lastly we were let down by the Pan Fried Shrimp&Chicken Dumplings (Whole Wheat). The whole wheat wrapping had a very slight texture difference, not as chewy as the typical dumpling wrapping. But the inside was the main focus. It seemed like it was a fishball inside, a homogenous color and texture and more reminiscent of fish than of shrimp. It's possible we got the wrong dumpling. Based on this experience we would not order it again. Wheat wrapping would be fine, but the shrimp/chicken filling would be a no.

We've been here several times before and what keeps us coming back is the quality of the food. Today, they had a new chef cook our food and it was terrible. Green beans were extremely sour (way way too much vinegar). Mapo Tofu had a ton of oil but not enough sauce, so it was just flavorless except the oil. The fried pork chop was over fried where some pieces you can't even bite through. The rice had too much water in it and was mushy. I rarely return food but this time it was so bad we had to let them know. We returned all of our dishes back to them. They let us know there was a new chef today, and they would remake all the dishes for us with the original chef. The replacement dishes were just as good as all our previous visits and it was excellent again! So thanks to the staff for fixing the problem. I'm not sure if they are training a new chef to take over, or as a backup, but they need to be careful as serving bad quality food like that would drive most people to never come back. We knew the food was good from prior experience, so we knew we could ask why the food quality changed. For first time customers, or those that may have ordered to go - if you had bad food today, it may have been a fluke due to the new chef. Service however was a amazing as usual. For all our visits including today, the staff has been kind and always looking for ways to help out and make sure we were having a good experience. So besides the food being good, I would say excellent service is also huge plus here. Don't be fooled with the automated ordering and robot delivering the food into thinking there is no service. The people behind the counter are awesome! Hope management takes care of this new chef issue quickly since their food quality is the main reason people come here. There was a night and day difference between the original food we got today, and the replacement!

My 7yo daughter used to love their shrimp fried rice, but as soon as the fried rice came out, the first thing she said was "how come it looks so different from before." Not only did it look different, it was BURNT. It was like they fried the rice in a burnt wok so every grain of rice was coated in tiny black burnt bits. It was essentially inedible. They also just topped the rice with some tastless blanched shrimp instead of actually stir frying the shrimp into the rice. The green onion pancake used to be flakey with layers and expectedly oily for this dish, but the pancake we got this time was essentially a tasteless tortilla. It literally looked and tasted like a tortilla. No layers, flakes or oil at all and was the worst green onion pancake I've ever had anywhere. The fish with black bean sauce was acceptable, but it was definitely not the same. It tasted more like American Chinese flavors instead of the previous authentic Cantonese flavors. The only dish that I thought was still good was the stir fried eggplants, although my parents said it also tasted more Americanized. We are so sad that the food here has changed so much and it was one of the rare places my Cantonese dad actually said tasted authentically Cantonese in the area. The restaurant was full during our latest vist but we did notice that 90% of the diners and people ordering take-out were non-Asians. When we came previously, there was a good mix of Asian and non-Asian diners, so it seems like the clientele have shifted, which might explain the flavor changes or vice versa. The staff is still very nice and friendly, but it seems like the robot server has been laid off. I don't think we will be coming back again unfortunately as the food is no longer what we loved before. However, they seemed to still be doing well so others must still like it.

We call them and give them a heads up and wondered if there was still availability. Melody was pretty transparent and said that there is a different menu between two and five ---a more limited menu. She asked if there was anyway we could get there before 2 o'clock. Long story short, she was super gracious and told the cooks that we would get there a little after two and they would make us something from the lunch menu. Isa was our waitress, and she was phenomenal! Great sense of humor, very transparent about the different menu items. I got a copal and it was fantastic! Smoky and spicy, but not too spicy. We started our late lunch with Caesar salad, Sopa Limon, Seabreem fish dish. We also got the cubano. We were so stuffed by the end of it, but everything was phenomenal. The Caesar salad was a great way to start the meal, but after a couple of bites of it once we had the other dishes, it didn't stand out as much. We probably would've ordered the same thing all over again, with the exception of the Caesar salad (although it was still good!) Sopa Limon had a very unique bone broth flavor. It was a little sweet. So amazing. Seabreem dish - the vegetables played an important part in the flavors! The fries and the aïoli for the Cubano was amazing. The Cubano was excellent, but was a big serving. We sat outdoors, but if I had to have my choice, I would prefer indoors because the ambience indoors is similar to a resort. It reminds us of a place up in the Bay Area called Luna in Campbell. Except the food here is slightly better :). Will definitely return!

I forgot the names of them all but just trust me on this one! Our server brought us out their house made hot sauce that complimented every dish we ordered. Don't forget to ask for it! One was a black charred ghost pepper paste like sauce, nothing like I've ever had. So good. The best thing about all of the food was nothing was too saucy or salty. My girlfriends ordered some drinks and they loved it too. We went on a Thursday and they had a farmers market on the streets as well!

Exceptional burgers and fries. Holy Shiitake, That's a Vegan Burger?!…read more If you had blindfolded me and handed me a tray from this place, I would've been checking Yelp afterward to make sure it was actually vegan. That's how convincing and delicious everything is. I'm always hunting down cruelty-free comfort food and this spot is one of my absolute favorite burger joints. The fact that everything on the menu is 100% vegan makes my animal-loving heart ridiculously happy. The Chicken Sandwiches are my husband's favorite. Crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The texture is so spot-on that it could fool even skeptical meat-eaters. The breading had a satisfying crunch, and every bite delivered that classic comfort-food goodness. My go-to is the BBQ Burger! It's sooooo yummy! It's smoky, saucy, and is messy in all the right ways. The sweet-and-savory BBQ flavor paired perfectly with the hearty plant-based patty. The service was friendly and efficient. Price point wise it is kind of pricey. I would pay that price any day though! It's great food. A cruelty-free burger paradise that satisfies every comfort-food craving. Come hungry, order the animal-style everything, and thank me later. lol

One week you did not have the Breakfast burrito, and no one in the store seemed to know why. My latest experience was June 14 at the drive through. I placed my order got to the drive though and no one responded on the speaker, I finally drove forward & called for about 2-3 more minutes before the cashier came to the window. I told him my order, he stepped away for a few minutes and said " our chef just left and its not made"?? Huh? The guy at the window was very nice and he offered to make my order for me, but of course that took an additional 15 minutes. IN the meantime, 2 vehicles drove up and no one ever spoke to them. This store is SOOOO badly managed is unbelievable! Constant problems, unprofessional service. The food is good but I am just about done with supporting such a badly run establishment. Someone need to revamp this entire store, it looks almost abandoned and the service just sucks!

They do close the waitlist around 8 even though they close at 9. We ordered the following: 1. Fried enoki mushrooms - Yes - delicious but it was kinda oily 2. Fried pork belly - exactly what you think it would taste like but it was delish - I needed to order a plain fried rice for this 3. Pad thai - it was okay 4. Crying tiger - I liked this a lot 5. Crab fried rice - generous amount of crab and the green sauce was really good 6. The only minor downside was that the chicken in some of the dishes was a bit tough and not as juicy as I would have liked. Overall, though, I really enjoyed the meal and would definitely come back to try more of their dishes. It's a popular spot so be prepared for a bit of a wait during busy times. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food came out surprisingly quickly. I also loved the interior decoration and the ambiance is great for gatherings.
