This is my very second comment on Yelp. My first comment was writing with the appreciation of delicious food and nice people, but this one, in contrast, is because I am deeply disappointed. I came here for dinner with my cousin and two friends. We are four young Asian women, and our experience with the service was extremely uncomfortable and disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the attitude we received felt cold, dismissive, and racially biased. When I first said "4 for dining," the waitress did not acknowledge me properly or even look at me. She told us they only had bar-area dining and did not accept walk-ins, but the way she spoke to us was completely emotionless and dismissive. What made it stand out even more was that we had just seen her being very warm and friendly toward an older white male guest, then immediately switching to an "absolute zero" expression when interacting with us. I was speaking Mandarin with my friends while we waited, because that is part of our culture and how we naturally communicate with each other. When I spoke English to the waitress and said we were fine sitting near the bar area, she rolled her eyes. That made us feel judged for speaking Mandarin and deeply unwelcome. Later, when my cousin explained to another waitress that there were no four seats together in the bar area and that we wanted to sit together, that waitress responded with a very exaggerated "Pardon?" even though my cousin spoke clearly. My cousin grew up in Michigan and speaks fluent English. The tone and facial expression made it feel like she was mocking her accent, and she also rolled her eyes. I was born in Las Vegas and raised in Orange County. My cousin, our friends, and I speak Mandarin with each other because we love and embrace our culture. We chose this restaurant because I had previously eaten at another Ruth's Chris in Reno, Nevada, where the food was excellent and the staff were genuinely kind. That is why this visit was especially shocking and disappointing. I do not like "playing the race card," and I do not make accusations like this lightly. But this interaction made all four of us feel singled out, disrespected, and unwelcome. Whether the staff intended it or not, the way we were treated came across as racially biased and completely unacceptable for a restaurant at this price point. Top notch medium rare ribeye steaks, delicious sides, friendly and professional staff, classy indoor decor, great location next to Westfield Roseville Mall, clean inside and outside, warm and welcoming ambience good for any and all occasions with friends, family, or coworkers, and superbly delicious desserts just to name a few. Parking is available at the mall's multilevel parking garage nearby so good luck because this mall is always packed. Our typical go to's didn't disappoint at all - medium rare ribeye steaks, calamari, crab cakes, scallops, brussel sprouts, creme brulee, lava cake with extra scoops of ice cream, and chocolate ice cream scoops for our 2 little firecracker girls. Absolute satisfaction for foodieventures!! Medium rare steaks are cooked to perfection which is precisely why we keep returning to Ruth's Chris. Forgot the server's name, but she was incredible, attentive, and had a very friendly vibe that made our meal experience even more memorable before sending our son off to join the Air Force. The restaurant was pretty empty and we ended up being one of the only 2 parties dining. Service was phenomenal and we thoroughly enjoyed some of the items we ordered. Would definitely come back and specifically re-order the calamari and cowboy ribeye- out of this world! Definitely recommend - calamari: extremely tender with the best sweet and sour sauce. Great portion. - cowboy ribeye: bone in ribeye that was perfectly cooked. I loved that they offered to slice them for us and split into 2 plates to share. They came out sizzling hot and came up to a perfect temperature on the hot plate. Very well seasoned - chicken: our friends loved the chicken! Moist and well seasoned Just okay - molten chocolate lava cake: incredibly reminiscent of the soft and spongey boxed cake mixes. I loved the portion and the gooey filling, but expected a higher cake quality from Ruth's Chris - flourless chocolate cake: this was a very small slice and was decent - berries and cream: my 3 friends ordered 3 each and completely devoured them. We eat here every year for Father's Day. I want to thank the server she was great and the food was good as usual. Although she didn't offer us salads with our meals which I would have ordered. The only problem with this restaurant was we arrived the place was almost empty and the we requested a booth for our seating and they wanted to seat us at table in the middle of the restaurant which I really just don't like. After I mentioned that we requested a booth the hostess began tell us that the open booths are for guests that requested a booth. Which is absolutely ridiculous because we requested a booth. After we were able to sit in a booth that we requested weeks ago the service was great and the food was amazing. After paying the almost $600.00 bill for my wife and my two kids I felt there was no real thank you from the managers who were standing at the hostess station when I exited the establishment. They exchanged words with each other and began to laugh at what ever was said. I have received a better thank you at chick fa la. Do better for mangers for that type of establishment. I'll try Fleming's steakhouse next year for Father's Day. When it came time to pack our left overs, he told her he hopes she didn't finish this on her own as it was a lot. Another example of Drew's service, Dillion was very kind to bring me a birthday dessert. Drew kindly brought me a birthday candle as I had forgotten mine in the car. He dropped the lighter onto the plate that Dillion brought and ruined the "birthday" writing on the plate. Drew's response was "Just great. I could get you another one but it'd be awhile." Hi-ya! So we went here Monday night to celebrate a birthday and took the kiddos too. Most of us got the 3 course meal, drinks and some got other meals and sides. The chopped salad--well it had a lot of onions and was ok. I know it had fired onions too, but it had a lot of raw onions too--maybe too much, but all else the steaks, salmon, spinach cream, mashed potatoes, deserts--all was great. My husband ordered the Soup of the Day for his starter which was a French Onion Soup, upgraded his entree to a Prime Ribeye and Shrimp, cream spinach for his side, and got the classic cheesecake for his dessert. For drinks, I ordered the Pomegranate Martini and he ordered an Old Fashioned and a glass of red wine. With everything that we ordered, we were very impressed! We had no complaints with any of the food and were very satisfied with the way our steaks came out. We both ordered our steaks Medium Rare and it was the right amount of pink. What was even more great about the steaks they serve is that they are served on a plate so hot that it sizzles so the steak was a good hot temperature the whole time and was never cooled down. For someone who loves sweets and desserts, I have to say that my Crème Brûlée dessert choice was my favorite out of all! Came here yesterday evening for my birthday on a whim since I was already at the mall. My boyfriend & I haven't eaten at a Ruth Chris in years but we were pleasantly surprised. Our server Kim was amazing, very kind and attentive. She made sure we always had drinks and bread at the table and checked on us frequently. She told me Happy Birthday multiple times and really made us feel welcome. The food was really good, much better than I was expecting. It was our 35th anniversary and my jaw dropped when the hostess brought us to our rose-petal decorated table and our server welcomed us by name. Right off the bat, this place made us feel SPECIAL!! Not sure what happened after but over an hour and no other food came out . We only order one steak and a seabass dish with some side. Our waiter never check in on us or gave us any update . I opted for beer and was pleased to see options like Stella and Shock Top, both served in tall, chilled glasses with an orange slice. A small touch, but it made the drinks that much more enjoyable. The food was excellent. My steak and lobster tail were cooked perfectly to my taste. The steak, prepared at 800 degrees, arrived sizzling and is always honestly a very cool touch in my opinion. The only downside was that the lobster tail was on the smaller side, but the flavor and preparation were spot on. My party and I had an extremely uncomfortable experience at this Ruth's Chris location. Our waiter CHAD was very unprofessional and was caught taking photos of us without permission. and our waitress LINDSAY had her phone out on the table in our room while it was secretly recording our table (which she claimed she doesn't know why it was recording) oh sure! which is completely inappropriate and unacceptable for any restaurant, especially one with this reputation. We left feeling uneasy and disappointed. Management should seriously address this behavior because no guests should ever feel disrespected and creeped out while dining. read more

Good food, but nothing too spectacular. Hostess was super friendly and provided great service. Not too sure if I would go back because the other customers were a bit snobby and I got talked to by management because my phone screen was ruining their experience. Mind you the bar has TVs with screens much larger than my phone. I used my phone to take pictures of food, check in, etc. I don't feel like I'm using it the entire dinner time, but I do use it at the table. Anyways, nothing comes in between me and my yelping, so I'll never not use my phone while at the dinner table - sorry, not sorry. read more

Amazing!! Can't say enough good things about this place. We did have a reservation which was good so we got seated right away. The hostess was nice and helpful. Christian our waiter was great. It was busy but still had the feel of a quaint ambiance and didn't feel out of place. The food was all delicious and flavorful. I would say the only thing was that the broccoli needed a little more butter and seasoning. Everything else was top notch. read more

My husband and I recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Ruth Chris Steak House. Everything about our visit was exemplary! Our hostess was extremely friendly and obliging letting us choose our table! Spread Rose petals on our table to add to the romance of our 10 year anniversary.... Then.... Our waiter "DREW" -- we cannot say enough about Drew! He was outstanding and made my husband, and I feel so welcome and his suggestions for our order on which appetizer & sides were excellent!! His knowledge of all steaks mistake was amazing ...he suggested the cowboy ribeye, and it did not disappoint! Probably the best steak we've ever had!! THANK YOU DREW! We had made a reservation but we arrived early and they were able to seat us at an earlier time. All the staff we came in contact with were very friendly and professional. Special mention of our waiter, DREW who really knew the menu and was able to make some awesome suggestions. We started with a couple of drinks the citrus honey martini and the classic lemon drop martini both were made to perfection. For dinner we enjoyed the Caesar & wedge salads, the spicy shrimp & scallop appetizers, the cowboy ribeye, au gratin potatoes, cremini mushrooms and of course the cheesecake for dessert. All our food was served promptly and at just the right temperature and was just scrumptious. The top of the night was the 500 degree plates with butter that they bring beside your main dish. Came here for a birthday celebration and the staff were so great at making a birthday girl feel special. There were "happy birthday" confetti sprinkled at the table and they wished happy birthday as soon as they greeted us at the table. There was also a complimentary cheesecake with candle at the end, and thank goodness no singing. The bread and butter and roasted brussels sprouts side were perfect. The ribeyes (rare and medium rare) were so tender and perfectly cooked. I just wished we had bigger plates for the steaks because there wasn't enough cutting room and there was so much fat/oil liquids (not pictured since it happened later during the meal) in the small plate where the steak rested, I would've liked to be able to cut pieces and move it away to drain some of the juices. The first few bites of the cheesecake tasted partly like birthday candle wax fumes and partly freezer-burned but once you got to the inside it was decent. However most importantly, because the steak's rareness was done to my liking, it was tender even when microwaving the leftovers the next day, brussels sprouts were on point and service was good - would recommend. read more
