    Surf and turf fried rice
    Samantha B.

We were super impressed by this place. I think we had low expectations for a casino restaurant but everything was great. I loved the panko shrimp appetizer & the little chips they serve. Super unique. I ordered the Korean Wok Ramen which was good - I think I prefer ramen as we know it but the flavor was still great. The best thing we got was the surf & turf fried rice. Steak and lobster was perfect and the omelette was to die for. The service was great, our waitress has worked there for years and was very knowledgeable. Lost all my money on the slots afterwards, though!

Came here to celebrate my nephew's birthday and the food and service was amazing! Large portions too, great for sharing. The Thai-Tini was so unique and delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more!

I honestly hate to change a rating this dramatically. I have tried a couple of times before writing this update and this is not the same place when it reopened. The menu shrunk like many places which is not bad - limited menus make typically for better service and cost conservation for the restaurant. I was not really hungry so I got what used to be one of the best egg drop soups in the area along with the potstickers. After I placed the order I realized they never asked me if I wanted the potstickers steamed or pan-fried. I quickly got the order changed to pan-fried. I watched after the kitchen filled all of the to-go orders way before they took care of the people dining in. I waited over 40 minutes for the food which honestly wasn't good. The egg drop soup consistency was way off. It was almost chunky with egg and lacked flavor. I didn't finish the soup and nobody even asked me if there was an issue. The potstickers were fried but they lacked flavor just like the soup. The dipping sauce was needed to make them taste okay. The to-go menu is VERY limited and if you want to order from the regular menu and take out they upcharge 15%. The new to-go application is way too limited but on the plus side they will get you your food way before people dining in at the restaurant. This was one of the best restaurants for Chinese in the city but it is no longer. Hopefully they take the feedback and get back to the amazing restaurant it was a couple of years ago.

Looking for a unique pan-Asian eatery experience? Look no further than Potowatami Casino. Yes, the casino. Please note: I've been to this restaurant a few times and it is very inconsistent in terms of food and service. Food: Looks amazing, but can be bland. Great portion sizes. Drinks include bubble tea, sake, speciality cocktails, wine, beer, and canned cocktails. Service: Needs improvement. Certainly a 'hit or miss' on the service, but I'd say mostly a miss. On my last visit, I sat at the bar and still received poor service. The two women on my right were upset that they waited 30 minutes without realizing it for a box and a gentleman to the left ordered an appetizer and drink. He received the drink and waited 25 mins for potstickers, but requested the manager and asked to pay for the drink so he could leave due to the wait time. It was ironic to have poor service when all the staff were in the bar area, though they were huddled there to sort out food that had been sitting a while as they confused which entrees go to which tables. Value: Great value for portion size. Can use player rewards/comp. Cleanliness/Restaurant itself: Small restaurant, but often busy. Kept fairly clean. Easy to locate. Location: Located on the lower level of Potowatomi Bingo Casino. 1721 W Canal St, Milwaukee, WI 53233 P: (414) 847-7335

Half crispy duck - very strong curry taste

Nice modern Japanese restaurant inside Potawatomi. The place is decently clean, the tables weren't straight and you can tell someone just got up with some food crumbs on the floor or seat. The food and pricing is fair compared to any other Asian restaurants around the area. Felt like the half duck was a little over priced otherwise no complaints about the food and taste. Nice size portions for sharing. The only complaint I'd have is the food wait time, longer than normal and had to ask for water.

I've never eaten at a restaurant inside a Casino before but RuYi surely did not disappoint for my first time! Depending on how busy the casino is, there is usually a line with a wait time but we did not have to wait long since it was a Tuesday evening. The ambiance of the restaurant is modern yet traditional and our waitress was very kind and attentive. I ordered the cashew stir fry which is a perfect option for vegetarians. It was extremely flavorful and hearty. My grandma ordered the sweet and sour chicken which was delicious. My mother ordered the kung pow chicken which was also great but on the spicier side. Our food came out fast and there are many options on the menu. I have had the shrimp fried rice before and definitely recommend that to anyone who is picky or not sure of what to order. I haven't been to any of the other restaurants in Potawatomi but i would highly recommend this one to anyone coming here to play! I would eat here again and definitely also recommend the locally sourced beer they have on the menu.

Have been here a number of times and always have a pretty good experience. Ruyi is a beautiful space inside Potawatomi, and the staff work hard to accommodate the constant flow of patrons. The food here is delicious, with the Chicken Fried Rice being large enough for two people to share. Their take on Egg Drop soup with fried wonton on top is interesting, and while the soup is good, I personally find the wonton unnecessary and distracting. There are a few good restaurants inside Potawatomi, and Ruyi is definitely a great addition worth checking out.

I was initially reluctant based on some reviews, but after 4 visits I am becoming a regular! Service has been exceptional, in particular at the bar. Quality of the chicken has improved, beef for me is tough and I stay away. You can bring drinks from the casino in which I appreciate. I fell like they are trending up in food quality and we have enjoyed our past few visits after a disappointing first trip.

The quality of food is there! Love how hot and fresh my meal was. They were definitely busy but servers were very attentive! Make sure you ask before you order if their credit card machine is working because I think when they are busy it doesn't work because that is what happened to me the night I was there. Not much else to really say because their food is ALWAYS good! Side Note- They're actually open later than what's stated on google, Yelp and other internet sites!

This is a fairly frequent stop for me while I'm in Milwaukee. Located in the lower level of Potowatomi Casino. For dining options.... in terms of quality vs price this will be one of the better options you can find Most recent visit I had a rib appetizer and Lo Mein Seafood Note- I have done a supplemental video tied to this Yelp review on YouTube Channel: Mad Respect TV Pros: + Food portions have never disappointed for an average appetite like mine,. Prices have good value despite being inside a casino + Food quality is one of the better options in the casino. Seafood soup WAS absolutely amazing. Pity they removed it. + Restaurant is very well kept. Fairly easy to find and access. Compatible with players rewards Cons: - Ruyi post COVID removed my most favorite item from the menu!! This kills. The Seafood soup is what made me want to come here. At time of review Sushi was not on the menu either. - This place is prone to getting packed. Service is a tad on the slower side. Bottom line: The menu changes are a hard pill to swallow. If my favorite menu items were to return, I'd almost go 4.5 stars. As things stand its kind of at a 3.5, but I don't feel like holding that against Ruyi too much. We'll leave it at 4 stars and keep checking the menu as able.

    Seafood delight
    JJ G.

Pretty good the portions were huge. The price was very reasonable. Service was a little lackluster ordered the seafood delight. It had a length of full amount of shrimp, scallops, vegetables, and such.

    Terrible terrible terrible

Shouldn't even be getting a star... only eating here because we are hungry but with this long wait I was better off driving out the casino and ordering from McDonald's.... Or a real fast food restaurant 45 minute to 1 hour to get seated 45minutes to 1 hour in order to get your plate after you put your order in....: Probably one of the worst places to visit if you are traveling. Do not waste your time or money on a place who doesn't put customer service first. Having a chef able to put dishes out in a timely manner is customer service. Please get better. The crowd here all looked disappointed as well. With the wait here you're better off running out the casino to eat and coming back. So upset.

If it's your birthday they will sing HBD to you and you get a complimentary ice cream. If you never been to a hibachi restaurant before then this will be a great experience for you. My favorite part is when they light up the grill ! The drinks are good and strong. The chef will give you a shot of saki in your mouth and he will pop shrimp into your mouth LOL. The chef's are very entertaining and will make you laugh. No matter if you're a meat eater or veggie eater the have something for everyone. I personally like the sea and land platter combo. It comes with chicken, steak, shrimp and salmon over your choose of ride or noodles with mixed vegetables. If you're going as a couple then this would be great. Oh if you're going to celebrate a birthday the will not seat you until your party arrives. I get it if the kitchen is busy but I watched my sushi platter sit on the bar for a while before our server came back to deliver it. He also didn't stop by much - hard to find to grab our bill. That took another 15 minutes. Frustrating as we saw other tables get helped promptly by many of the other servers. While this is a normally good, quick lunch spot, we didn't leave until maybe an hour and a half later. The food was okay but not worth the poor service. I did hear that the chicken hibachi was good but would've been better with yum yum and ginger sauce like what's available at other restaurants. Maybe just a one off but we won't return soon.

I usually get the sushi lunch set, and my husband typically gets the panang curry. We've also tried several appetizers; the gyoza were decent, the fish cakes were tasty, and the tom kha soup is quite good. Prices are a little steep for appetizers. The chicken in the panang curry tended to be rather overcooked, but the sauce is fantastic. The spicy tuna roll is good, the Alaska roll is standard fare, but the Fire Dragon roll was excellent. We also tried the Milwaukee roll and that was good too. My only significant complaint is that the sushi set has increased in price (by removing one of the items you're allowed to get with it). On my two previous experiences, you could get two classic sushi rolls, a miso soup, and either spring rolls or crab rangoon. On this last visit, they've redesigned the lunch set menu and now for the same price ($15.95) you can still get two classic sushi rolls, but then you only get a choice of one side -- soup or fried item or salad item. That's disappointing. They do offer the choice of getting a premium sushi roll instead of the two classic rolls for the same price, or for $23.95 you can get even more (though I don't recall the specifics). So while I previously thought the sushi lunch set was an excellent value for the price, I was bummed that they'd reduced the amount of food you enjoy for the price instead. And as a sidenote, the Thai tea is smallish in size compared to what you can get at other similar Thai restaurants. At $4.50 it's not that great a deal. All that said, I'll be back for that Fire Dragon roll. That thing was excellent.

I couldn't stop thinking about our dinner and was excited to return. So, I hyped the place up and was so excited to come back for dinner with a good friend. We had early reservations, 5:30, on a stormy Thursday night. We arrived right on time, and were seated in a not too busy restaurant. Our waitress greeted us right away; and got our drink order going. She asked us (twice) if we were celebrating and both times we told her we were old friends who hadn't seen each other in a while. Hint: don't rush us. She didn't get the hint. She came over multiple times in the first 5 minutes to get our app order. The first two times we told her we hadn't looked at the menu. When she came the third time we ordered the kinnikinic tacos (amazing, my second time having them) and the royal flower dumplings. Our apps came incredibly quickly. The tacos were delicious. The dumpling presentation was very pretty; but very one note flavor. Basically, peanuts. We both were disappointed and would not order again. While we were eating our apps, the waitress came over AGAIN...to ask us if we were ready to order our entrees. Call me crazy but we had just ordered a bottle of wine and two appetizers and hadn't even been there 15 minutes and were eating....give us a few minutes! We basically told her to come back later as we hadn't even looked at the rest of the menu. We finished the apps and decided on the angry lobster roll. We put that order in, and we're looking at the menu for dinner options when she came back. We asked for recommendations and she suggested the short rib or the Namya Pu. She told us that the Namya Pu is a medium heat level. I'm ok with medium am my friend loves spicy so we went for that. That dish came before the lobster roll which surprised us since we ordered the roll first (and wanted the roll first). We expressed surprise to the food runner who told us that wasn't communicated to the kitchen. We said ok, and then AGAIN asked to give us some time before the roll was delivered. She said ok. We started in on the Namya Pu. Nice presentation and the flavor was very good but it was definitely not medium heat level. It was very hot; even my friend had a hard time tolerating it. We told the waitress when she checked on us and she brought some limes to help cool it down. We were a few bites in to the main dish when our lobster roll came. I looked at my watch and laughed- we had literally been seated for 30 minutes at this point. Definitely not a relaxing dinner.l- we felt so rushed. We finished our food and were presented with a dessert menu. Just moments later the waitress came back to take our order- even though we hadn't even picked the menus up. We told her that, yet she came back again a few minutes later. We decided not to order dessert and were immediately presented with the check. We had a good 1/4 bottle of wine left. And, still many, many empty tables in the restaurant so I'm not sure exactly what the rush was. I get that restaurants don't want you to sit for hours, but we literally were forced to eat our 3 course $180 meal in about an hour. Literally, we walked out the doors at 6:30, an hour after we walked In. I was disappointed with our experience. The food was good, although I wouldn't order the dumplings again and I'd be careful ordering anything with medium spice level! I do think that had the service been better I'd be much more forgiving towards the food issues. I am not sure I will return. After reading other reviews, I'm adding a few things: we were not provided chopsticks when our sushi was delivered and had to request them. Between appetizers and dinner course we were told to keep our fork. At an establishment like this, I'd expect they can provide a new fork rather than make me place my dirty fork on the tablecloth. We had to ask for new plates when our sushi came, I guess we were expected to eat sushi off a plate covered in curry? I asked our waitress if they had low sodium soy sauce and was responded to with a scoff and a "no". I don't know if it is a faux pas to ask for low sodium in a Japanese restaurant? It felt like the waitress thought it was a very foolish question.
