I met a group of eight retired teacher friends here for lunch. Our server was quick to take our drink orders and she served us water. There was no ice in the water jug or in our glasses. The restaurant did not have black iced tea which was what I wanted to drink so I stayed with the room temperature water. The menu was accessed by scanning a QR code. Our server offered to bring an iPad to the table if you didn't have a phone. Several of my friends would have preferred a paper menu to look at the choices. I ordered the beet salad with a side of chicken. My chicken was perfectly grilled with a nice bit of char on the edges. It was very good. The salad was also tasty but I was hoping for more beets and less lettuce. My friends enjoyed their meals also. The meal was freshly prepared and enjoyable. Gratuity was already added to the bill due to our larger group. I would try this restaurant again if I was in the area. read more

Road warrior. Last year i ate at Sow Plated several times. One of my coworkers is Vegan. Returned for work in this area alone this year and have eaten here 4/5 days since arriving. Love the choices, price and quality of the food. Staff is extremely attentive. My favs are the Maple Sweet Chili Cauliflower, Jackfruit Tikka Masala Tacos, Poke bowl, the Ancient Grain salad and the Banana Mango Chia Pudding! The food and service are both consistently great. Took my boys (ages 6 & 10) for lunch and they both devoured their wagyu burgers. I appreciate that the restaurant still has kid condiments (ie: ketchup) which can often be a problem at upscale restaurants. My harvest salad was delightful. The only downfall was that the biscuit crumbled. Most bite was without the biscuit or part of. Thus, took one star away. Pecan French toast: AMAZING! Not dry and not too moist. Super tasty with pecan pcs in nearly every bite. Syrup was really good and light, unlike store bought syrup which is super sweet. I have always loved this place and I would go to it on a monthly basis for happy hour. However, I went on a Sunday afternoon and decided to sit at the bar since I was there by myself. I didn't want to take up an entire table. Well, that was not a good idea. I waited and waited and finally the gentleman who was cleaning behind the bar noticed that I had been sitting there for quite some time. He told me that someone would be with me soon. He was not a bartender. I'm a lady came over and said that the bartender would be with me soon and brought me some water. The bartender was helping someone at the other end of the bar but then disappeared. I don't think she did it on purpose I just think that there were too many people for her to Help. I'm not quite sure since I was the only one at the bar. I'm guessing that she had a lot of tables to work with as well. Nonetheless, I ended up leaving because I was waiting for a really long time and they only had one of the cold press Drinks available. It makes me sad because I really like this place but now I know not to go on a Sunday. read more

Columbus is a haven for amazing restaurants and SOW Plated is no exception. I absolutely loved the space. It is bright and inviting and had plenty of convenient parking so no stress! Making a reservation on Opentable for a larger group was so simple. Our server had the perfect balance of taking care of our refills while letting us continue seamlessly with our conversation which I love. He was super knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. Came here a lunch and had 0 regrets! Everything tasted so fresh and light despite being super filling. We had the shishito peppers, I personally like them a little more charred but they were still very tastey! We also had the wagyu tacos which were great! I really love what the owners are trying to do here and some of the food is pretty good. My complaints are 1) too many dishes are too sweet and it's hard to order an appetizer and an entree without feeling overwhelmed by sugar. Add dessert and you might go into insulin shock. And, 2) like so many restaurants today, the acoustics are terrible. It is just too loud- it can't be good for digestion and it certainly isn't good for conversation. read more

We had a business lunch at SOW Plated a few days ago. Most have us have been there before and were eager to return. The food did not disappoint. We ordered the Brussels and the cauliflower as apps, and most the group had salads or bowls for lunch. Our challenges were with service. We had a very sweet but clearly new server and she really seemed uncomfortable. She waited quite a long time to approach us and take drink orders. I think she was waiting for one more person to arrive in an empty seat but that person ended up cancelling and was not going to attend. She cautiously approached and asked to take our drink orders. I told her we were ready to do that plus order but she didn't seem to catch on. She just took drinks. It seemed like that was what she could track OK so we let it be. After drinks arrived, she took the food orders around the table. Apps arrived shortly after, and then entrees. She seemed to get many of the orders mixed up. She would lay a dish down calling it one thing when it was clearly another, and put it in front of the wrong people. With one salad, a person had already put her utensils in it and the server wanted her to just pick it up and pass it to the person it belonged to (no one at the table was clear on whether the utensils were clean). We then asked the server to get the kitchen to return the salad and make a fresh one for the other guest. She took it away and then returned 30 seconds later with the same salad, gave it to me (it had chicken on it and I ordered salmon) and told me the chef told her to give it to me and that I would get bonus salmon on a side dish. We were so confused. She was too. The fact that the kitchen maybe (potentially) just tried to swap the protein was disheartening. The fact that this server thought that was OK was embarrassing. I ended up giving this young woman a 20% tip. Not for a job well done, but because I felt sorry for her. Not sure serving is her strong suit. Will we be back? Likely. But I want to wait three months for the server training to kick in case she is ours again. read more

It's a pretty restaurant, very pleasant. Polite and efficient service. The food was disappointing, though. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special, either, especially since it was a bit pricey. I ordered the Pad Thai Bowl ($15) with Tofu ($6). Nothing in it had much taste, actually. The "yuzu mushrooms" were super salty and had no yuzu essence at all. The description also listed Spicy Coconut Curry, and they must have forgotten that completely. It was not spicy or coconut-y or curry flavored. It had a very small amount of crushed cashews which I discovered at the end. I might go back and try something else but definitely not this again. read more

Starting off by saying that the food is excellent. I LOVE that they have non-alcoholic juices that are healthy and super tasty. I also love that I can order so many items off of their menu and enjoy them. Parking: this is in the plaza with Whole Foods, so there is a large lot for you to park in. Reservations: encouraged! We had a reservation and only waited about 10 minutes. Service: this is where I have to give 3 stars. The food was 5 (minus the black hair on my white fish which I didn't mention because everything took so long & I didn't want to wait for food again), but the service was a ~2. We spent over 2.5 hours here for 2 people & we were ready to order as soon as we sat down. The waitress and hosts were all so nice, but the waitress was running around to 1/3 of the restaurant because they looked understaffed, and the kitchen was behind all night. Our waitress talked so quickly to get to the next tables that she was walking as she talked to us all night & we couldn't understand most of what she was saying. We've ordered takeout here in the past, and that may be the way to, unless you have time to kill. Food: you can't really go wrong here, unless you order the kale Caesar salad and don't like the taste of anchovies. The short rib is EXCELLENT! The soups are delicious. The dessert is quick and tasty. The drinks are wonderful! Highly recommend, just maybe order takeout for now? read more

Even though they apologized, there was no offer for a discount and still had to pay full price. My meditation bowl was flavorless and a big disappointment. I thought it was very easy driving to and finding it in the most adorable plaza!! Walking in, it has the most amazing and clean vibes. I went with my gf for Valentine's Day. They were very busy because it was also Friday night. We arrived early and sat at the high tops to enjoy happy hour before moving to our seats. Unfortunately they ran out of apple juice and later pineapple juice. All the cocktails we tried were good. The happy hour prices are great. Ambience 7/10- someone was whistling or doing bird calls in the kitchen. Otherwise it was fine, I wasn't blown away by the decor and I'm not judging about how busy it was. Service 9/10- The waitresses were attentive but not hovering. Food arrived timely. They forgot to take a cocktail they ran out of off the bill, it was corrected when I pointed it out. Food: Edamame dumpling 6/10- I thought it was pretty mid. A little doughy/gummy and a bit flavorless, the sauce is the star of this plate. Pad Thai bowl 7/10- it's not as peanut butter dominant as you'd expect. It's more coconut forward. Adding tofu was $4 and gave 4 small chunks of tofu. Braised short rib 8/10- the meat was perfect and delicious, tender and moist,. The sweet potatoes were fine. The parsnips or celery root were underdone.
