3.5 stars Cute tiny little spot in heart of downtown Ridgewood. The pizza is good but I was not wow-ed. Crust was thin, chewy and perfectly crisp on the edges. They have a good selection of toppings and the combinations definitely work but it's nothing unique. The pies are medium sized, good for sharing or if you want to finish it yourself you can do that also. It's just a little bigger than a personal pie. The campagnola pie (zucchini, peppers, eggplant) was alright. I honestly wasn't impressed by it at all. I don't think the veggies had enough seasoning to them and I wasn't sure where the eggplant was. The pie special of the night (burrata, black truffle) was pretty good but nothing amazing; it costs you $20 though. We had the panna cotta for dessert. The panna cotta wasn't smooth enough. It came with a gigantic scoop of marmalade on top, which I think was totally unnecessary. Just the chocolate shavings would have been enough. There was outdoor and indoor seating. The seating was SUPER tight. There was only about 1 inch of space between the tables so you can hear everyone's conversations and the people next to us kept looking at our plates (how uncomfortable). Street parking with meters. Card & cash. BYOB. They have their own mixed sangrias as well. They also don't take reservations. Worth a try but I won't be back. read more

My favorite gourmet pizza place in Bergen County! Cannot recommend enough - atmosphere, food, and service are all fantastic. Tons of options for pizza with a well rounded assortment of salads and appetizers to start. I've also had the white sangria which was good but mainly filled with ice which diluted the drink a lot. Crust is the perfect texture and chewiness while pizzas are incredibly flavorful. Small space so would try to come before peak dining hours. Great for dates or smaller family dinners. read more

To me one of the best pizza in whole of the tri-state area. This is real pizza. The service informal but the staff is always quite cool. Prices are fair for the good quality plus its BYOB which is. My favorite place ever in Ridgewood! The food is terrific, I've loved absolutely every pizza I've tried and of course the Nutella calzone dessert is to die for (a tip is to eat it quickly because it's not as good when it's cooled down). I enjoy bringing friends here because it does feel a little bit more special than the other restaurants in town and everyone has loved it as well. Just a heads up, it's very small and cozy so be prepared for being almost on top of the table next to you but I adore the whole atmosphere and ambience of this place so I actually don't mind it while elsewhere it would probably bother me. read more

I heard great things about this restaurant, however we were told we would have a table in over 45 mins and waited over an hour... No table. We called 30 mins into our wait and they told us 20/30 more minutes. Eager to try the food, we waited. We went back 20/25 mins later and they filled up all tables and couldn't seat us. My only issue here is with "San Marzano tomatoes".. why not use California or Jersey tomatoes which are rated the best in the world!!!...isn't anyone informed on this? San Marzano tomatoes use to be great but should now be avoided like the plague!! Having lived in various parts of Italy for many years, Italians in Italy don't consume tomatoes from this area..instead they are shipped to other countries like the U.S. Why? cause the San Marzano area where they are grown is considered one of the world's toxic super sites, meaning it's highly toxic soil is due to illegal dumping of garbage within the surrounding Naples area of San Marzano for decades. There's really only one reason I can't give this a perfect rating. We came on a Friday night, and was well aware we would have to wait. Upon arrival, we put our name down, and was told it would be an hour. We got a drink in town, and returned just a little over an hour. We were told numerous times, they were doing their best. We ended up waiting about 2 1/2 hours. If we arrived and they said it will probably be 2 hours, that's fine. But just standing in the restaurant for another 90 minutes after waiting the first hour, kinda took the life out of us. ANYWAYS, the food is amazing. We started with the meatballs and split two pastas (pappardelle and the tagliatelle). Pastas were cooked perfectly, and it was a perfect start before pizza. For pizza, we ordered Genovese (basil pesto, sausage and bufala mozzarella) and the Fiamma (soppresatta and spicy chile infused honey). Lived up to the hype, amazing pizzas. So delicious!! My second time here and did not disappoint. My sister and I shared the charcuterie for 2 which was a more decent portion than other places I've gone and was great. Salads are big and perfect to share. Went for dinner Friday ....waited 45 minutes for a table.... The restaurant is small but quaint.... No air conditioning inside and a few tables outside...it's a byob, liquor store near the restaurant... the appetizers were delicious ... had the steak special as my main course my wife had a pasta dish gnocchi..... over all the quality of the food was very good.... My steak was cooked to perfection... the downside of our dining experience was they didn't give u a side with the steak..(I would think for $60 u could at least get a vegetable with it). We arrived at 5 pm just as they were opening, we were seated and told they were not ready yet, that the pizza guy had not shown up yet. Ok...this was our first visit, and off to a rocky start. As a chef myself, if my staff didn't show up on time, there would be hell to pay...on a Saturday no less. The Siciliana Salad, I was not used to no vinegar with the dressing, my mistake for not looking at the menu closely. The pizza, was amazing once it showed up. What a place, everything you want about pizza you will get. We were in the mood for pizza and we were in a rush. We popped in and ordered the Margarita Pie and sat down, they brought us water and our pizza! Our pizza came out in two minutes maybe even less. It came out steaming, and looking beautiful-the cheese distribution was perfect the sauce was just the right amount, not too much to make it soggy but enough so you got some in each bite. To touch on the cheese for a minute, forget about the cheese to sauce ratio or the perfect dollops of mozzarella around the pizza, the taste was incredible. It tasted fresh as you can get, milky, creamy and slightly chewy as it got melted but still held some of its integrity. The slice held itself up without limping or looking sad and the bottom was crispy, light and airy. 9/10 pie the only thing it had wrong was that there was no basil on it, in my book that's a must. The food is probably close to 4 stars, but everything about this place seems disorganized and overcrowded. I've tried to place a takeout order using the phone # listed here on yelp, which is the same as on the google listing. It goes to a answering machine after 4 rings, which tells you to leave your number if you want to do a group event. I went in person a couple of weeks ago. There was no reservation stand. Nobody seemed to know how to get seated. We flagged a waiter down who through a game of telephone taking 10 minutes managed to communicate our request for a table to somebody. Do they not believe in having a host or hostess? Was that person just not there that night? I guess I'll never know. We finally had the burrata appetizer, which was good, maybe better than ordinary for Jersey, but average for a new school Italian place in NYC. We also had the Flama pizza, very good except for the odd choice to drizzle honey over it, which in my mind clashed with the sopressata. I still don't know how people in other reviews placed takeout orders. Smoke signals? Telepathy? My wife and I went to the cemetery today to put the Christmas blankets for our family members. I said we used to love to go to restaurants in Ridgewood , why don't we go for lunch today?
