    Went for The Belden Hour (aka Happy Hour) to check them out since their move from Pilsen (yeah yeah we're a bit late here). From the first greeting, to getting settled at the comfortable bar in the decent sized lounge, we were treated very warmly and with appreciation for coming in. All I can say is that if I lived at the Belden, I'd need a reserved seat. Specials included a killer Yeti Martini (sake and herb based), excellent white and red by the glass at a fantastic price point and lots of snacks. Most things had Asian touches. We had the flatbread (crispy outer crust round and fluffy inside, like a Chinese pita with ricotta and mapo chili oil for dipping), Caesar salad (nori, radish, Asian dressing on Little Gem), small but punchy dressed oysters (very craveable), and the killer French Onion burger with short rib jus for dipping. Dining room looks beautiful and comfortable and soon we'll know how the rest of the menu is as we're coming back in a few days for dinner !

    Really enjoyed my HH at S.K.Y! The aesthetic is dark and moody, although I wish they had some sort of music playing (tbh we probably have caught them on an off day as we came in on a stormy Monday lol) They have some good deals on drinks and small bites - definitely get the Tiberio Trebbiano wine and Yeti Martini. Their oysters were fantastically shucked but the mignonette was a little overpowering in my opinion. Some of my favorite bites were the lobster dumplings and the tuna tartare lumpia, and alternatively I probably would not get the warm mushroom salad again. We sat at the bar and our bartender was super helpful with recommendations and navigating the menu!

    Had a wonderful dining experience here last night. Great ambiance/acoustics, perfect for catching up with older friends. I think the starters outshined the mains here but everything was well-cooked and beautifully plated. What we got: - Tuna tartare lumpia - Maine lobster dumplings - sizzling sisig (comes with seaweed and rice and garlic oil) - Sichuan ricotta - French onion short rib (comes with creamed spinach with a Parmesan crust) - brussel sprouts

    This used to be our favorite spot in Chicago. We brought at least 20 or 30 people to dine here over the years and frequented it often in Pilsen. We were excited to try the new location and updated menu and brought a friend from out of town. Sadly, from the start the service was rough. We were left with two drinks and an empty wine glass for 25 minutes and then a series of confusing mishaps with the wine followed. This was after ordering a cocktail on the menu they couldn't make due to ingredient shortage. We were told we could get the madeleines even though they weren't on the menu. And then after ordering told we couldn't have them after all. Our server barely spoke and the warm friendly service we were accustomed to was missing. The somm told us the wine they poured was the only orange they've ever served, but something else was printed on the menu so I guess it was just to let us know we were wrong to be confused. They brought us fried croquettes and a budino later as a gesture, but they lost us early on. We tried a number of new things and the sissig flavor was really good, but I scalded my hand on the nori holder which was really hot. Oddly the rice served with it was cold and clumpy like leftovers? We were unsure if that was intentional. Favorites like the lobster dumplings and fried chicken were okay, but we couldn't tell if they updated the recipes or our experience was impacting our meal. The ambiance was nice and you could hear without shouting which I liked. It was odd that we didn't see any signage for the restaurant (just an old Intro sign), but maybe we missed it. With the challenge of parking near here we won't likely be back. 3 stars as an homage to what it once was.

    This was a fabulous meal!! Overall the food, though small plated, had amazing texture, flavor, and presentation. Pricy for what you get but a really well-done menu that I respect and a nice ambiance in Lincoln park! We came with a group of 6 and split everything. The great thing was our waiter was able to adjust the portions of the small plates to work with the size of our group (example 6 dumplings instead of the usual 5) which really enhanced the experience. I got the yuzu martini which was honestly just fine, I think it's not my forte. My favorite dishes in order: -warm mushroom salad - this was excellent -tuna tartare lumpia Hamachi sashimi Fried chicken - this had a nice sweet and spicy balance to it Lobster dumplings - very good but expectations were high and other things wowed me more Flourless chocolate cake - really nice touch with the citrus meringue which definitely made it stand out Brussels sprouts - very good!! Whipped ricotta - quite spicy but the bread was unreal! 3 that were good but not standouts to me were the cod, endive salad, and banana dessert.

    Have always wanted to try S.K.Y. and took the opportunity to try in their new location in Lincoln Park. The space is elegant but understated - light grays make it seem dark on entry but the windows give it light and warmth as you enter the main dining room. We tried a number of things on their menu. We started with lamb meatballs, which had a tikka masala sauce - unique and great with the perfectly charred garlic bread. A must have. For mains we got the short ribs and fried chicken. Both had stunning visuals on the plate and were backed up by great taste. We also enjoyed the tots and cauliflower as sides. Service was exceptional. Very attentive and they served us free pistachio ice cream for dessert as it was our anniversary dinner.

    I came for a midweek dinner and had a lovely meal! The restaurant has a moody feel, interesting lighting, smart decor. It had the perfect acoustics to have a conversation w/o the restaurant being loud despite being busy. Huge selling point! The billing had issues (see below) which lost a star from me. We tried: Hamachi Sashimi: great flavor and seemed like an excellent cut of fish. Rohan Duck: nice flavor Stone Bowl Bibimbap: good French Onion Short Rib: good quality meat, well cooked, the Gruyère spinich was awesome. I wish the French onion flavor was more forward in the rib. All the dishes seemed to have high quality ingredients and were well executed. The service was friendly, attentive, and did a great job. One Warning for future patrons: check your bill before paying. They charge 5% employee fee to the bill which was not clearly stated beforehand. Had I caught this, I would have adjusted the tip to not be double charged on the service fee. Sneaky and definitely left an otherwise good meal on a bad note :( I would recommend it for a date night. Personally, I would love to come back for happy hour maybe some apps on the patio after a zoo day sounds nice. Worth a visit but read the bill before paying. Tsk tsk management- that fee really rubbed me the wrong way (where one star was lost). I will say sharing this menu with one other person, I left hungry which is always disappointing.

    I dined at S.K.Y last night. Service was absolutely perfect! Hot food was served hot. And I love Chef Stephen Gillanders' cooking, especially his use of Asian ingredients and the acid balance in his sauces. We had: Crab and Shrimp Summer Roll Lobster Dumplings Warm Mushroom Salad Rohan Duck Confit Cucumber Salad Fried Chicken Prime Rib with Anchovy-Maderia Butter, Garlic Frites If you missed the news, S.K.Y was previously located in Pilsen, but it just opened in Lincoln Park at 2300 N Lincoln Park W, in the Belden-Stratford building, which is the same building that houses Mon Ami Gabi.

    We went once to the old location just as they opened for a special tasting event so it was great to finally return and so glad they moved to Lincoln Park. The cocktails were good - I especially liked the six spice they used in the old fashioned that smoothed out and balanced the bruleed orange. Sichuan Ragu - incredible, loved the flatbread, great heat from the sichuan really coolly balanced with the smooth ricotta; great dish Sizzling Sisig - probably my favorite dish of the meal, great spice level again, loved creating little rolls with the seaweed, sizable platter too, very sharable Fried Chicken - this is what they're famous for. The chicken was good, but what was better was the corn and habanero butter. The presentation with the whole foot is unique but I actually preferred the rest of the plate to the chicken itself, though the chicken is incredibly tender. French Onion Short Rib - probably my least favorite item we got, the short rib wasn't as tender as most, there wasn't enough jus, the spinach that comes with it is really creamy, and it was the most expensive thing we got; wouldn't get this again. Brussels - great, little bit of maybe sesame oil? tough to tell, but a unique flavor on a popular side. Can't wait to come back but would probably opt to just keep ordering lots of small plates rather than spend the time or money on a large plate. Great meal and deserving of the Michelin star for me.

    Another Asian fusion restaurant bites the dust--S.K.Y. Some of their dishes could be promising. Located at the southwest corner of 18th and Allport in Pilsen in a rectangular building, the restaurant was not busy on St. Patrick's Day. What went well? The bartender and other staff were wonderfully hospitable. The environment is dark, concrete, and industrial, yet surprisingly inviting and comfortable at the same time. A view of the kitchen is available from the main dining room. Hidden behind a door by the bar are a pair of clean bathrooms. How was everything? "You're going to S.K.Y.? ...... yeah, S.K.Y. is alright," quipped our rideshare driver. We were interested in the brunch pastry tier. It seemed like it could be a good idea. It had a box around it, centered on the menu, highlighting, "hey, order me!" It came with 5 items total: Mantou Donuts, Roasted Banana Bread, Black & White Croissant, Blueberry Butter Muffin, and a savory item. S.K.Y. offers an option for swapping a single item for another. We also ordered the Warm Mushroom Salad and the Maine Lobster Dumplings. 1. The Mantou Donuts are crispy on the outside, with a condensed milk glaze, and crumbly chocolate bits on top. They were warm. They were sweet. They were cut into quarters. They sort of reminded me of French toast. 2. The Roasted Banana Bread came topped with Madagascar cream, and sprinkled with a granola mix on two ends, including some milk chocolate. The banana bread lacked a strong banana aroma. It was dense, and soft; easy to get through with a fork. Flavor-wise, I really didn't see any. The texture had a mix of the crunchy from the granola, and the soft and creamy from the bread and the cream. I enjoyed the combination, but I wasn't sure what was roasted about it, except maybe the granola. 3. Black & White Croissant--would be a pretty good winner. Was the croissant dough itself supposed to have a flavor? If so, it didn't come through. Coconut and lychee filling is pumped in through a hole on the bottom. The translucent one had a great lychee flavor. The opaque one had not much coconut flavor. The lychee flavor to comes forward after a moment. If you were to scarf it down, you'd probably not notice. 4. We bagged the Blueberry Butter Muffin. It was a muffin, with blueberries inside. It was topped with a sweet cream, plus sugar crystals on top. More like frosting. I enjoyed it, but we bagged it due to having eaten about 3 other sweet pastries. 5. For the savory, we were under the impression that we were going to be given the Gochujang Cheese Danish. But it was not Danish, and it was not spicy as all. It seemed to have scallions. Maybe they had given us a French Onion Bun instead? The cheese had gyuere aroma. The interior of the bun was rather dense, and lacked scallion or oniony flavor. Chili crisp was absent. The caramelized onions were white. Non-fluffy, flavor-lacking bread is always a letdown, along with confusion of what the actual item itself was. 6. The pastry tier comes with (A) blueberry jam, (B) sweet cream, and (C) salted olive oil butter. Great accompanying spreads. Unfortunately, they made the pastries taste better by replacing the flavor with their own. This could make a bland tasting pastry taste better, and an interesting tasting pastry taste different. The latter is a positive experience, but the former is not. Shouldn't your pastry flavors be able to stand on their own? Why do you want us to treat your pastries like pieces of sliced bread when you've gone through much effort and preparation, attempting to fortify them with flavor? 7. The Warm Mushroom Salad had low self-esteem. It had a lemon vinaigrette and goat cheese, and avocado bits, scallions, and small slices of a red pepper. The mushrooms seemed to be oyster, but fried or roasted to crispy dehydration. Rather than highlighting what should be a very nice mushroom factor, only a generic roasted flavor papery crisp was presented. The lemon vinaigrette did not assist in melding flavors. (Imagine eating tasteless roasted crisps with some sour liquid that doesn't go together.) The avocado was dandy, but the goat cheese was forgettable. It was probably a super bland ricotta instead (no pungency). If you like mushrooms or goat cheese, do yourself a favor and definitely don't disappoint yourself with this dish. 8. The Maine Lobster dumplings were sleepy. I tried to enjoy them. Butter makes everything taste better, right? But cooking away the rich butter flavor? You get 4 dumplings with supposedly Maine lobster inside, and they were stuffed pretty well, garnished with some herbs, but what was in the jade green oil? Hopefully something like a scallion oil. I had hoped for this dish to be stimulating. Brunch here was disappointing. Our ride share driver was spot on in the nicest possible way. I hope the team at S.K.Y. can work on revising their dishes, improve on them, and make them make sense.

    Beautiful experience at S.K.Y. -- I loved the intimacy of the restaurant. at first, I thought the tables were a bit too close together but, my date + I ended up chatting and making friends with another couple on a valentine's date! drinks: my boyfriend had the 'fashionista' (their take on an old fashion) + i had the yeti martini. mine was good but I wish I would've ordered the fashionista as it was better. the presentation of my martini was cool, though. the food: wow -- no lies are being told about the lobster dumplings! you could not imagine the flavor profile, definitely the star of the show! we also had the octopus (nothing exciting to me, my bf loved), the seabass has a layer of sourdough and omg the crunch! I am loving this culinary trend of different colored sauces. we also ordered a side of brussels sprouts + these were the best, most flavorful order of brussels sprouts I've ever had. I usually don't care to order it as a side (my boyfriend loves them) because they're usually not that great. but S.K.Y.'s = the best! for our last dish, we ordered ribs and they were delicious. it wasn't on the menu, it was the chef's special that night. + no meal is complete without dessert and coffee -- my bf finished the cheesecake so, it must've been delicious, ha! overall, this was perfect for date night. our waitress was attentive and gave great recommendations. definitely set the mood for this texas girl to go home + cuddle in the snow!

Three bar service locations, ample seating space, a cozy atmosphere, welcoming staff, and an upscale, luxurious feel to the whole place. We never get tired of coming here. Speaking to a regular, it is possible to have a cocktail while having your hair cut (or maybe waiting at some point in the process?) But I digress. I ordered a Taxi Dancer - an extremely pleasant whiskey-based drink that was spirit forward without being overwhelming (though I drink whiskey neat, so take this with a grain of salt). It had a perfect level of sweetness, and a little spice (not heat). The vibe here is upscale, modern, and bright. The bar staff is friendly and welcoming to newcomers and regulars alike. I also love that their prices seem to be reasonable, all things considered. The aforementioned cocktail is $16, which is fair considering the quality. While on that particular night I only had the one, I will be happily adding Buzzed by Zea to my cocktail bar rotation when I feel like going out for a night on the town.

We didn't have food, only drinks as we came straight from dinner. We asked our server for recommendations that weren't too sweet. I got the gingerbread milk punch and my husband got the their take on an espresso martini with mezcal and Japanese coffee. I got the milk punch cold, and while good I think getting it warm would've brought the spices out more. Definitely wasn't too sweet though and tasted like there was no alcohol in there!! The drink my husband got I LOVED!! Usually I'm not a mezcal espresso martini gal but it was just smoky enough, complex, and delicious. When we go back, I'll be getting that next! Bonus: our server was so nice and helpful!! She gave great recommendations based on what we were asking for and was friendly. Overall we liked Mordecai and will be back when we're feeling a more upscale cocktail bar vibe.

    This is a bittersweet review as this establishment recently closed. But I still feel the need to…read moregive them their props as I was definitely going to add Lost Never Found (LNF) to my rotation of places to hang out at. I happened to discover LNF during a Yelp Event when LNF turned into Rudolph's Bar, a jolly holly Xmas Extravaganza! I do not believe there was a single spot in the bar that had not been covered in Xmas decorations. It was total sensory overload to the point I did not put up any directions 2025 because I had seen enough at LNF. HAHAHAHAHA! On the strength of the food and drinks that night, I decided to go back once all of the Xmas hoopla was over. Going back in 2026 was a more subdue, but enjoyable time for me. As I mentioned in my 2025 review, even with all the Xmas decoration, the overall vibe was a step up from the typical bars around the Cubs playground. I would have loved a regular girls night out there instead of the last hurrah of me and The Queen. I had mentioned to her about the cocktails and the pizzas I had during the Yelp event and we decided to stop in before heading to the Alamo Drafthouse for a movie. Me and The Queen go the Spicy Sausage pizza and those fries, since I talked about the food to her. Again it was really good, with the crust still being nice and thin. The Queen did not think it was all that spicy, but she eats Hell Ramen Level 4, so I do not look to her for confirmation of hotness when it comes to food. We had cocktails and The Queen (because she was driving) had a Margarita made with a zero proof Tequila. I have to say it was not that bad and I got one and added Prosecco to it...delish. Me and The Queen had a great time chatting, eating and drinking at LNF, but were both sad that we were going to miss out on the opportunity to turn this into one of our rotation hangouts. But I will always be grateful for them introducing me to their Red Bull Winter Spritz. Since that Yelp Event, I have bought three cases of Red Bull Sugar-Free Fuji Apple and Ginger Winter Edition Energy Drink to make the cocktail. Not sure if it is exactly how they did it, but it works for me. So long LNF, it was good knowing you, even if it was for a short time. Deuces!

We had a reservation for 9 am the day of the Michigan/Northwestern game at Wrigley Field. Figured we would have a quick brunch then go enjoy the pre-game atmosphere. Well, when we had been sitting for nearly 30 minutes with no server to be found, we started to get nervous. She finally came over and while she was sweet, really just nothing went right. A food runner brought out a tray that appeared to have all of our orders, but then only served one plate before walking away. It was a solid 10-15 minutes before anyone else's meals were brought out, and even then it was one plate at a time every few minutes, not the rest of the order at once. And everything was cold. Every single item. The chicken and waffles felt like it came out of the fridge it was so cold. And the worst part - we had a member in our party with a severe nut allergy, who told the server 3 times. She noted it, and made sure he would get white toast instead of wheat. When his meal came, there were two huge pieces of wheat toast with visible nuts across his ENTIRE plate. Touching every piece of food. He said again that he was allergic, and they just removed the toast and handed the plate back. It had already touched everything! Since at this point we had to leave soon for the game (and because we now couldn't trust a kitchen that doesn't understand a nut allergy), we just had them remove his order from the check and he didn't get to eat. The server did take 20% off the total bill and gave us a gift card to make up for our terrible experience. Like I said, she was very nice and trying her best. She was just at the mercy of the kitchen being behind and screwing up. But as a Wrigleyville restaurant, you MUST be able to handle lots of customers on a game day. That's like the one thing Wrigley bars need to be good at. This is just not an environment I would choose to be in again, especially for the steep prices. We'll use the gift card for drinks at the bar on a non-game day, and wipe our hands of Lost Never Found.
