We tried this place for the first time and ordered takeout for lunch -- fresh shrimp rolls, chicken pad see ew and mixed veggies with chicken. The staff was very polite at pickup. The flavors were there, but we had a couple of issues: The chicken had a weird texture. They were cubed in random sizes and just felt rubbery, like boiled chicken. It was strange since we are used to the chicken sliced thinly and wok fried. That was a huge turn off. The fresh shrimp rolls were humongous, too big and difficult to dip into the sauce and take a bite of. Normal sized rolls would've been better. The pad see ew had no indication that it had Chinese broccoli. I don't mind Chinese broccoli, but I do prefer American broccoli for this dish. If I had known, I would've asked for a substitute. But really, we can't get over the chicken. Is it fresh chicken? Canned chicken? Boiled chicken? It leaves us wondering and unsatisfied. Unfortunately, we won't be back. As soon as I tried my mango fried rice, I knew this immediately that this place is gonna get a lot of vegan business from me. :) We also got the (vegan) thai iced tea and chicken pad Thai. Super bomb! I love how they use clean ingredients, and they nail the flavors without using too much salt, fat or sugar. Their food tastes fresh and balanced. I'll be coming here all the time. Our large party was slipped in late at night for dinner and we shared lots of delicious dishes. One Thai friend was impressed at how authentic the papaya salad was. I was in no hurry so I stopped in to order and there were two parties seated inside but other than that it seemed calm inside. We had already decided what to order when a woman came back and asked if we were ordering for pick up and when we replied yes she replied back that it was going to be a long wait and then proceeded to ignore us. Food was awesome. The ordering and picking up experience, not so much, due to an extremely long wait. Ordered online on a Friday at about 6:45pm. Arrived at 7:00pm (the online ordering doesn't tell you a wait time) as the thai food we normally get is normally ready within 15-20 minutes. Told them I'd ordered online and it seemed like they hadn't reviewed the order at all. Ultimately I waited nearly an hour to get my food, and no one really communicated how long it would take which was frustrating. Their posted hours said they closed at 8pm but multiple people arrived between 7:45 and 8:00pm when I left and they were all sat at tables and waited on. Many orders were brought out, though no one else was waiting until close to 8 for a pickup order, maybe they deliver? Finally after waiting more than 30 minutes I received a text saying they'd received my order and it would be ready in 1 hour....at which time they would have been closed. When my food FINALLY came out I was crossing my fingers it would be good and be worth the ridiculous wait time. We ordered Pad Kee Mao, Yellow Curry, and Mango Fried Rice. Everything was good, not sure I'd necessarily pick the Pad Kee Mao or Mango Fried Rice again, but the Yellow Curry was AMAZING and I've been craving it ever since. Also tried to get sticky rice and I was informed it was all out as they handed me my food so it was replaced with regular rice. If the curry wasn't so amazing I wouldn't go back, as I tipped 15% despite it being take out (since it's a new business) and I wish I could get that money back with the poor service and felt a bit ripped off by 2 orders of sticky rice being replaced with jasmine rice, though it's only a few dollars difference. We're going to give them another shot, I'll order by phone this time to hopefully expedite the process. Interested in trying the Tom Kha, Larb salad (which I've always known as Larb Gai), the Pad Thai and Nom Kao Tod which all sound great. Prices are slightly higher than most thai food in Everett (we normally get Thai Mana) but aren't super unreasonable. Serving sizes are generous and they pack to go orders up well. read more

I stopped by Sabai for the first time and was not expecting too much but the atmosphere was nice. I was greeted with a smile by the two employees and order some basic Thai food Togo. I was told that the food was not going to disappoint me. The basil fried rice had a nice wok hei aroma and flavor, chicken was tender, everything was extremely flavorful and it was packed with lightly fried basil. The tofu pad thai was delicious it had all the right ingredients. tofu was also very tasty and well seasoned and might have been marinated before hand. They had a big door open that allowed the nice summer breeze in with a couple of outdoor seating. I will definitely give this another try.. if you order Togo don't for get to ask for utensils if you are planning to not eat it at home lol read more

Really wanted to like this place but unfortunately did not. To begin when we walked in there was an overwhelming smell of incense as someone who had smell sensitivities I wished it hadn't been so strong. The coke drink had a weird after taste which I was not a fan of. We ordered pretty typical staples a Chicken Pad Thai and Pork Pad See Ew. I ordered my Chicken Pad Thai the lowest amount of spice and when I received it it was very bland and the chicken was steamed cooked but not stir fried like usual places. My husband ordered a level one spice of Pork Pad See Ew but it was pretty spicy like a 3. The people next to us also ordered a level 1 and were complaining about the same issue. Wish there was an in between for level 0 and level 1 with flavor and some spice that makes sense for the numbers. read more

This was our first time eating here, we used to eat at this location a long time ago when it was under a different name. Looking over what we got, I will say that their prices are a bit high for the quantity, the shrimp is an extra 3.50, which gave me 6 very small shrimp. My husband liked his Phad Thai but noted the chicken was dry/over cooked. I did not like the Phad See Ew, it was very greasy, the broccoli was very over cooked so the tops were mushy. The shrimp tasted fresh and weren't to over cooked, but they had zero flavor. The fried corn was ok, crispy, but lacked flavor other than batter and oil, if this was tossed with salt and pepper they would have been really good, the quantity was good, but still a bit over priced. The tofu satay was actually pretty good, good curry flavor, but needed a pinch of salt. The peanut sauce had good flavor but was really thick, I would have liked it just a touch thinner. Also, the very loud music that was playing inside was horribly inappropriate. It was hard rap with clear cussing, sexual lyrics, and violent lyrics. My husband likes that kind of music but even he was shocked to hear that. I would highly recommend that they think about a more appropriate music. read more

This is the only Thai restaurant that I personally have been to that serves everything with 0 spice level and if you want spicy they give you sriracha at the table after it is prepared. My wife and I ate here recently and it was delicious! We went to Thailand this summer and flavor wise this place is about as close to the food we had there as I've had in the Everett/Seattle area. We got the mix my favs for an appetizer and everything was really good, nothing was greasy or oily and all three dipping sauces paired so well. We got three main dishes, their signature fried rice, a noodle dish and a duck dish and all 3 were fantastic! They have a full bar and beers on tap and even had an nfl game on. Very underrated date spot and I'd imagine a great place to grab drinks/beers and dinner before a silvertips game or any other downtown event. How have I not been here before? I wanted Thai food - a lunch combo. Not many places seem to have that but Sabai Jai did and it was amazing!! I ordered mussamun curry and phad thai, and Thai iced tea with coconut milk. My order was ready in about 15 minutes. Just enough time to get shoes on, drive there and park. When I opened the door I was met with the aroma of spices. My mouth was already watering. I was greeted when I came in and my order was ready. I got it home and couldn't wait to dig in. The curry was perfectly seasoned. I got 1* - better safe than sorry - and it was just right for me. Creamy and full of flavor. The phad Thai was just so incredibly good. It tasted charred, like it had been cooked over an open flame. In fact, the veggies had char marks. OMG so good! It came with jasmine rice and an egg roll. For me, this is enough for two lunches but probably not for everyone. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes. I can see this becoming one of my go to lunch places.
