Their pizza is great. But do not pay until you've received your order. I was told they didn't have an item, offered a substitution, which I was happy to take. But the kid at the door could not tell me what else I could substitute it with so I didn't know what to say. He later said they would just refund the item. I was never refunded. If I go back will make sure to pay in cash or just not pay until I get my order. It's unfortunate because I've ordered a lot from here, but this experience has definitely left a sour taste and it seems like others have had some similar experiences. Great pizza. Its tough when COVID is here and you cant actually go into a place, Sabatinos is small but standing outside in the elements with a line does tend to make one want to leave.....good thing I didnt, wow is this pizza good. Sabatino's is a great, relatively new, addition to the SOMA food scene. No ambience to speak of, but that's no surprise, and beside the point, for a local pizza joint. Two of us, together, had 5 slices - 2 grandma, and one each roasted zucchini, roasted red pepper/spinach, and sausage/pepperoni. Uniformly delicious - and highly recommended. read more

If you're reading this now, you're probably debating whether or not this place is worth a try. I get it, you're used to your mediocre just okay pizza from your usual spot. You're not ready to experience perfection in edible form. And that's okay, if you're not that's truly your loss. You can go back to your boring run of the mill pizza you always get and continue on without it. But once you try Sab's it's almost a curse in a way, because no pizza will ever be as good again. No other pizza will compare. You'll search for it, you'll hope for it, at times even pray for it, but it won't exist. Sab has found some sort of inexplicable devine combination that other restaurants won't ever be able to live up to. This place will have to be your new regular and if you're not ready for that level of commitment, I fear this place may not be for you. Once you try it, there's no going back. read more

I needed a place to have lunch today that was within a certain area and I only have an hour to spare. So when I came across Sabatino's I was intrigued. I read the reviews and decided this was a good choice. Well the great reviews were accurate! I had the mushroom pizza and it was delicious. The flavors were spot on and the crust was thin and crispy. My only disappointment was that we couldn't eat inside. They only had few tables and no AC but it was worth the trip. We eat our lunch in the car and enjoyed every bite! Therefore it got 4 stars and not 5. But we will go back soon and take our pizza to go' read more

Simply the best. The wait can be long because of the demand so plan accordingly. The price is not inexpensive but the quality and quantity of the dishes support the cost. Although Maplewood already has a ton of options when it comes to Italian and pizza this place is really awesome! We've tried a few different pies, pepperoni, sausage, and a white pie. All of them were fantastic! My wife and I also ordered some garlic knots and a couple meatball subs which also were killer. Definitely the best meatball sub I've had while living in Maplewood! The restaurant is pretty small so you can't have a large group there but it's an excellent option for takeout. The staff is super friendly as well. Sabatino sure knows how to make a good pizza pie. Margherita is phenomenal. The roasted zucchini pie is insane. I like getting my pie on the well done side, as a bit of extra insurance that the crust holds up. The pizza is definitely the best when sabatino himself is making it. Stopped in for a pie last week based on a recommendation. I'm very happy, that I did because what I experienced was a very good start to what could be my new pizza go to. The service was just what I expected and the pie was delicious. Yeah, I know, it's just dough, sauce and cheese but it can be magical when done right and these guys have figured it out! Here's what sums it up for me. As I was walking out, I mentioned to the guys behind the counter that "I heard you guys make a pretty good NY pizza" and their response was "I don't know about that but what I can tell you is that we make great Sabatino pizza". Coming from South Carolina, pizza this good is hard to come by. All I can say is wow. The crust was so crispy that, when you held it up flat, the slice stood straight out without folding from the weight of cheese and toppings. We had a side of Mommas meatballs too which also were really good. If I lived in this neighborhood, i would weigh about 20 lbs more. read more
