The food is overpriced compared to the portion size. Rice and beans were the smallest portions I have ever had at any Mexican restaurant. A michelada $14.99 for a small size mug, really??? I should have asked for price before ordering. I was served 3 small taco size corn tortillas and had to ask for an extra order of 3 small tortillas to finish my meal for another fee. However, on a good note the carnitas and shrimp tacos had good flavor. The waitress was nice and attentive so thank you for that. But a meal for 2 at $79 at this type of restaurant I just cannot justify the value. Unfortunately I can't recommend this place and will not be returning. read more

My wife and I live in the neighborhood, and happened along this place yelping. We love Oaxacan food, and were excited to check this place out. It did not disappoint. The food and service were great. We had the mole sampler, quesillo empanadas, and a classic tlayuda. Everything was excellent. Tlayuda was huge, but they're supposed to be, so we get have the rest for dinner. We were there today (3/1/25). The restaurant is now called Sabor a Oaxaca; it's under new membership and the menu is centered around Oaxacan food. The food and drinks were delicious. I tried the amarillo de verduras, the empanadita with cheese and mushrooms, and sopa de frijol, as well as chips con guacamole. It was all very tasty - good quality ingredients and rich flavors. A member of our group grew up in Oaxaca and gave the food his enthusiastic stamp of approval. To drink I tried the house mezcalina, it was also very tasty. The service was prompt and friendly. It's a tad pricey, but then so are all sit-down restaurants these days. Overall, great meal, highly recommend!! read more

The service was great. The food was great. They seriously need a new bartender. The only thing I can complain about was the drinks they were awful. None of them were made correctly. They had way too much sweet sugar in there. My first margarita lacked the alcohol. Meaning she totally forgot to put it in. We ordered Mexican candy shots to give it one more chance. And unfortunately it was Sweet syrup and ice with a straw in a shot glass. It was weird definitely not what it was supposed to be. The bartender, then came up to us and gave us attitude because we were not seeing eye to eye on what we ordered. I recommend the food and the service is great but they need a new bartender. What a special day with a surprising visit here. Irma mi amorcito, El servicio fue increíble y eres una alegría. We just drove until we found some thing that was new and open in the area near Rancho Cucamonga. There are so many Mexican food spots, but with minimal amount of tequila selection. This place has a great selection of tequilas and excellent food. It is more of your Spanish style, Mexican food with , an upscale vibe minus the hit to your pocketbook. Irma was a joy, she went over the selections of tequila, and even suggested a few new tequilas we have not tried before. It's attempting to be some type of Mexican gourmet but misses the mark. I think they have some plumbing issue we were seated on the south side which smelled like urine. We went around opening on a Saturday and found out there were lunch specials with free margaritas!! Automatically a 5/5 right there! The meal starts with some fresh fried tortilla chips with salsa. Their salsa was mild but with good flavor. Got the carne asada enchiladas with chocolate mole sauce. It came with a choice of sides including rice and beans. The mole was definitely rich with a ton of flavor. For dessert we got this fried dough dish with ice cream. It was amazing, the name started with a "c" but I can't recall the name. Meet a friend here for dinner and it is definitely a hidden gem. It was not initially too busy, but did get there by the time we left. Which I was thrilled for them, being that it was a Friday night. I ordered the Bahama Mama and is was AmAzInG!! Probably one of the best drinks I've ever had. My friend ordered the mango margarita and said it was delish! Ordered the chips and guac and that too exceeded my expectations. Being that I base by Mexican restaurant reviews on their salsa, this place passed with flying colors. The salsa was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice. I had the red enchiladas and my friend had the green. I thought the red ones were a little bland and wish that I had ordered the green. Tried this place out on a Sunday afternoon at about 5:30pm. Not so crowded, maybe 5 tables at most. This place was on point. It featured some Oaxaca drinks and dishes that I've had the privilege to try in Oaxaca city on many visits. The Mezcalito and Cadillac Margarita were excellent. We sampled the aspirinitas that exploded with nostalgic flavor from my childhood. I do have to say the mole I tried was the best mole I've had in the states at a restaurant. The place is really classy but not snobby, our waiter took the time to teach us a thing or two about mescal and it's wonder and was great with my boys. I was worried a bit about how they would be perceived, but this place made me feel welcome. Many great menu items and plenty of appetizers and drinks to choose from. Would I come back again? Absolutely. (Probably without my boys) would want to bring back the wifey here on a date night and enjoy this place a bit more. This place is a gem I would recommend this spot for those wanting a change in the typical Mexican scenery, more elegant and focus on the food than just taquitos. We called on Saturday morning to see if they could accommodate 6 of us around 6:00pm. The individual on the phone was so kind first. They did have an availability. We showed up at 5:50pm. It was a pretty busy night. We enjoyed the fish tacos, carne asada plate, carne asada enchiladas and tortilla soup.
