We ordered Chile relleno and pollo en mole. I'm a huge fan of both and whenever I see it on a menu, I want both. The mole was a bit too sweet but the chicken was super tender and cooked perfectly. Got there early on a Friday night but missed happy hour! However the skinny Margarita and La Flor Margarita (made with fresh Hibiscus juice) were reasonably priced and delicious!! Pollo en mole! Wow! Absolutely delicious. The flavor profile you think of when you think Mole? It's that, but a thousand times better. Easily the best mole I've had in the United States. Brought my dad today for a late Father's Day get together and he was in aw with the dish and services as well. Our waitress even went out of her way to make my drink super awesome by adding club soda to the strawberry lemonade I was drinking; it complemented my meal really well and was just right! They had a mimosa deal for the table and I can't remember the exact price but I do remember it was fair, and we also shared sangria and margaritas. Very good drinks! They were just a tiny bit strong but that's not necessarily a complaint coming from me. The food was great overall as well, I had the flauta plate and they only serve you two but they're really long so it makes up for the usual third you would get. Chilaquiles Divorcidos, chorizo and egg tacos, fluffy pancakes with fresh strawberries on top and a little pot of warm syrup. Cinnamon coffee. Everything was delicious! We were seated outside on the covered patio on a very hot day, but we were comfortable. Deep shade and big outdoor fans helped with that. Hanging baskets filled with flowers filled the whole outside ceiling line, creating privacy, keeping the sun at bay, and looking so cheerful and pretty! Savor is a Olmos Park hidden gem! The outside and great curb appeal with a cute patio. I have been here 2 times once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times seating was in bar and patio only. Waiting area is small and was packed at lunch. Hostess is friendly. At lunch we sat at the bar, kinda hard not to have good service when you are literally in the face of the bar tender. He was cordial, offered suggestions and attentive and he made a REALLY good Ranch water. When in the bar/patio area it was almost as if you were transported to a beach in Mexico. They had the glass doors between patio and bar open so you could feel the perfect outside air and the music was popp'n. We visited this establishment for dinner. I ordered the watermelon margarita and my husband ordered a Mexican Martini. I couldn't taste any alcohol at all; I ordered a second one and didn't taste it or feel anything. My husband couldn't taste any tequila in his martini, and there wasn't any olive juice. He went ahead and ordered a beer because that can't be messed-up. The chips and salsa were good; it was like a cross between hot sauce and salsa. I ordered the ceviche and while the presentation looked beautiful, the taste was underwhelming. I expect ceviche to be sitting in a bit of lime juice, however, there was none and it was extremely dry. Personally not appetizing if I'm eating fish. My husband got the cheese enchiladas; the rice was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. The charro beans were very good, too. They provided extra tortillas and while the flour tortillas were delicious, the corn tortillas were inedible and very hard. The ambience is really nice; we sat outside where the patio is enclosed with lots of plants, so it feels like an oasis. While the food was ok, I wouldn't return simply because they're extremely skimpy on their alcohol, and we came partially to enjoy a good meal and relax with some libations. We love the new location closer to the traffic circle. There is a lot of space inside, but it's broken into smaller rooms that feel intimate. We will be coming back more often from now on. * * * * * Our favorite time to go to Sabor is weekend breakfast when we can sit and talk and really enjoy our meal. He was amazing and helped us navigate the menu based on our wants Menu I am sad I didn't get a picture of, but I will tell you they had a full pancake and waffle menu that included bananas, pecans and strawberries. I've been in about 3 times so far, each time sitting at the bar, Bering that I was on a time crunch each time. The service has been wonderful each time. Staff is friendly and genuinely seem happy. We decided to visit a place we have never been so I went on yelp looking for a well rated Mexican restaurant. When we arrived the restaurant was packed but was very limited seating. The vibe was amazing. We decided to sit at the bar versus wait for a table. The staff was excellent, very polite and they all helped each other, one could tell they truly cared. My husband ordered a skinny margarita which came very sweet. My idea of a skinny margarita is tequila, fresh lime and a splash of agave. They miss the mark in this however when brought to the attention of the woman who made the drink she was more than happy doctor it up for him. Great customer service!!!! BRUNCH REVIEW: If you're looking for a brunch spot look no farther than Sabor nestled in the former location of Mixtli in the heart of Olmos Park. Make sure you get there early or be prepared to wait for a table because the space is small and cozy and very popular and the last I heard not taking reservations. My friend and I arrived and opted to take the last table open outside on the patio rather than wait 30 minutes+ for a table indoors to be available. With a glass of mimosa to cool you down the Texas heat wasn't the problem but the constant presence of flys was. The constant hovering of the pesky bugs was the only downside to our brunch. For brunch my friend and I ordered the huevos mutulenos and the chilaquiles verde dishes and OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. I don't think it's possible for to decide which was my favorite between the two as they were both perfection. The flavors of both dishes were perfect and for the price, quality, and portion you won't find any better in town. The service was great and the food fantastic.
