Oh, well, I wanted this place to be good, honestly. It's right by my house, I was hoping for a simple place where you can enjoy some chorizo platter, some well-priced Tempranillo wine, you know, the simple and good things....Not really. This place is pretty spacious inside. Located in an almost deserted shopping center (not a problem though, just saying. By the way, it's a safe area). El Sabor Latino just misses the opportunity I think. The food is so-so, I mean nothing to write home about with a few disappointments in there as well; the need to get better quality meat to start. Then the big no-no in my book: three times, not once, let me say this again...THREE TIMES I had to send a glass of wine back. I mean in three different visits. It's something that I rarely do, the wine has to be really bad for me to do that and it was, almost vinegar. How can you have undrinkable wine in three separate visits? Nobody is checking, tasting? (Something you should always do after a couple of days the bottle is open). Service is okay. They seem to be a bit content here, almost taking it for granted. Yes, they don't have a lot of latin competition nearby but still, you gotta do better than that. They have live music sometimes, as a plus, although the volume was crazy loud on one visit. I go to this place very often because of the food and low key setting. I was not a big fan of the service from some of the Staff awhile back. So I stopped going as often as I used to. But the last 2 times I have gone just recently, that experience changed. I got served by someone I have never gotten served by before who was amazing. Her name is Grace. I walk in expecting the usual no personality service. But instead I got a real greeting walking in, I was caught off guard. I wanted a cold coffee which was not apart of the menu. My husband had the Paella which he thought was very good. I had the Ropa Vieja and I found the food to be very bland to my tasting...maybe because I am spoiled with Latin dishes when I visit Miami. Wow, what an extensive menu filled with pure goodness. We have the beef empanadas to start, really fresh and tasty. Next I had their chicken soup with 2 types potatoes and corn on the cob. You could tell this is all scratchmade. Had a really fresh tasty Mexican Mule. Next I had paella which was full of seafood and chicken. My Wife had Chicken Milenesa which she enjoyed. Love the typical Hispanic feel of the restaurant. They have up flags from several Latin America countries which is nice, even though the menu looks more Colombian than anything else. I was starving so I ordered La Bandeja Paisa! Everything was great, rice, fried egg, beans, arepa, chicharron, colombian sausage, except the bit of steak, that was tough and chewy, it even looked dry. But I won't let that ruin my dinner. I missed Hispanic food, so this was a great choice, tried a little bit of everything. For dessert, caramel flan! It was delicious! Delicious meal. The Chile Rellonos at El Sabor has replaced all Tex-Mex versions I've ever had. This was light and full of flavor. The rice was tender and the salad was fresh. Excellent food and great service! Our server Grace made great recommendations for our dinner options since it was our first time here. We came with two small children and they accommodated us perfectly. The environment is very relaxed and low-key. We ordered the chips con guacamole with a side of their phenomenal salsa, fajitas con pollo y carne, and carne asada. Everything was cooked perfectly and came out fresh and hot. NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME Was there this evening, they are undergoing a renovation so we were off on a side. Service was just a tad south of OK. Good menu with plenty of variety. Dishes were presented well. I had Lentil soup - tasty but lukewarm; chicken burrito - well prepared and tasty, again, just lukewarm; wife had arroz con pollo - just about all rice and almost no chicken, totally underwhelming. The service was good but the place is not very appealing and I don't think the food is as good as in the Palm Beach Gardens location. The ajiaco had a lot of grizzle and chicken skin, and the potatoes tasted old. There were very few people here at lunchtime while in Palm Beach Gardens they are always full. I like the location in Palm Beach Gardens better. I have to say that they are going through renovations so maybe afterwards it will be nicer, but this location is trying to be more of a bar or club. read more

Francisco who runs El Sabor 1 in Palm Beach gardens recommended his brothers place is in Greenacres ,we live in Wellington its closer. The food was great I had the paella and hubby had the steak, both were filling and prepared fresh.It was a quiet evening, I think the owner Edgar is trying to promote the place now, It is fairly new with live music Saturday nights. The place was immaculate and the server gracious. We were given a complimentary desert "Flan" which I loved well prepared. Their food is fresh and a great menu and I would say try it, If you like Latino food, also they add side dish of black,pinto,red beans along with a few other sides according to your entree. Don't normally write restaurant reviews but felt a need tonight. El Sabor recommended by local residents. Only one other pair of diners in Lake Worth restaurant when we arrived. Ordered shrimp cerviche appetizer which was wonderful but that was high point of the evening. Paella ordered and explicitly requested without mussels. Dish arrived with mussels and mussel pieces throughout - sent back to kitchen but just returned without the mussel shells but mussel bits still throughout rest of dish. Inedible. When told of issue cook came to table, looks at uneaten meal and states "seafood mix" contains mussels and could NOT be removed from paella mix. No other explanation or apology. Paella entree NOT removed from check either. 2 orders of fajitas at table acceptable but not exciting. Really wanted to like this place but service and food execution disappointing. Maybe other El Sabor location at Palm Beach Gardens would have been better. read more

Second time there disappointing. Last time we were there the nachos were great. This time it was slop. Ordered the beef nachos. Had to send back as meat was cold. Order comes back and brings it back with chicken. Sent it back again for the beef. Chips in the nachos was soggy. Cheese that they used tasted like cheese wiz out of a can. Waitress asked us what we thought and told her this time we were very disappointed. She told us that they cook the meat and chicken in the morning that they use for nighttime. Total disappointment. This place is great, a hidden gem! The service was excellent, attentive without being annoying. We had the nachos to start, very nice and light. Guacomole was yum! I had the churrasco cooked medium, it was delicious!! Plantains were cooked to perfection, and the pinto beans were a pleasant surprise. Finished off with the flan, and oh my, so good!! Groupon took us here. Empanadas and guacamole were very good as were the sauces they served with them. My hubby had the breaded pork steak with rice and beans. He enjoyed it. I ordered the red snapper which was $18 for a bland over fried fish. My sons well done burger was basically medium raw. We sent it back and guess what? Had a wonderful experience this morning at this restaurant! The outside doesn't give the inside justice. On the inside it is very spacious and the waiters were very kind. I give it four stars because I was pretty turned off by the first waiter who seated us picking something up from the ground with his bare hands... (It could've been swept up, I'm a waitress too) Anyway, we started off with some coffee and milk (cafe con leche) and it was perfect. Then we ordered some beef empenadas at $1.99 each to start (we ate it too fast for pics) and they give you some sauce with it that was so very good we asked for more! I ordered the chorizo burrito and my boyfriend had the arepa with eggs perico (I think that's how it's spelled) and I preferred his but both were very good. Safe to say we'll be back! Have never written a review before but the food was so good I had to. I work late on weekends so I wake up late and was searching for a place to have brunch that I haven't been so I went here. Turns out they stopped serving breakfast at 12 (just my luck) so as I am walking out someone there stopped and asked what was wrong and I just told them I wanted breakfast. I feel bad to say this, but I wasn't impressed. The place seemed new and clean and the menu was big but there was no sense of urgency. Our simple order took 30 minutes, that's during lunch! There were only one other table in the whole place. Wouldn't hurt to throw some chips and salsa on the table since we waited a while and were hungry. The server and manager (or chef) were friendly and attentive and food was ok but they need to realize that during lunch people want to have faster service. The food was just ok. The corn tortillas were too dried out and only 3 tiny ones to an order of fajitas. The pork was just salty without much flavor. We ate it all quickly as we were hungry and didn't have much time left. I hope they will figure stuff out because it looks like they spent good money on the interior. I spent years in the restaurant business and I know how much work goes into it, this place has potential but they need to step it up. read more
