First time at this place and unfortunately have no plans of ever going back. Got there for dinner at around 9pm and everything was fine. We ordered the tostones cups with chorizo which I have to say was absolutely delicious. We put in our orders with the apps and notice that everyone's meal except my husband's had gotten to the table. When I asked the server he claimed that the food was on its way. A whole 30 MINUTES later (after everyone is almost done with their meals), tired of seeing my husband sit there while everyone else enjoyed their food, I walked over to who I figured was the manager. He promptly walked over to the kitchen just as the food was leaving the kitchen. He expressed remorse for the confusion with the meal and went on his way. As soon as my husband started eating, the staff begin putting chairs up on the tables, signaling it's the end of their day. I've never felt so disrespected at a restaurant as I did here. The screw up with the food was bad enough and can definitely happen, especially with busy kitchens but to start closing up shop as my husband gets his food is beyond ridiculous. It shows a complete disregard for their customers' experience. The manager comped my husband's meal but it was a very uncomfortable evening in general. We have been here a couple of times always a great place to eat. The staff is friendly and on regular days the wait for a table is short. Today the wait was well worth it. We had the chofan de Marisco which seemed like a fried rice with seafood. This was good but I enjoyed the locrio much more which is Dominican styled rice with chicken, chorizo, and shrimp. I felt this rice dish was much more flavorful. We had both the tostones with shrimp and guacamole. Loved these! They're like mini deep fried tostones chips in the shape of a cup. Similar to the flavor of ceviche. Pretty filling too, have them while they're hot! First of all, the food is fantastic! The portions are huge and the food is tasty. Unfortunately, the service was among the worst we've ever encountered. We waited forever to be greeted and even longer to get our drinks. The utensils still had rice on them and when we asked for new silverware, the waiter brought us plastic utensils. Once the food started arriving, everyone got their food except grandma. He forgot to ring in her order. Ten minutes later, she got her food. I had to ask the busser for a refill. This place is good. I usually go to the one in castle hill but I figured since I was in the neighborhood I would try this one. It was a Monday so it was empty. I was seated right away. The waiter took my order I had the pork chops which were delicious. My problem was the waiter disappeared after serving the food. So I'm just sitting there waiting for someone anyone to be like can we wrap up your food or do you need the bill. My friend had to flag somebody down to be like can we get the bill? They get crazy props for being able to accommodate a group of about 20 hungry guys. The restaurant itself is actually quite large, and we basically took over their back section. The staff was very friendly and surprisingly, got all the orders correct. I've been to quite a few restaurants that screw up groups that are much smaller. Our waters were always being filled, and our dishes were announced to us. The truly superhuman feat was that we put in our food order (which was like 4 orders of 8 different dishes), and no joke, food started coming out after a 15 minute wait, and ALL of it was on our table within 25 minutes of ordering. It wasn't sloppily done either, which was surprising. We all had to ask each other, "Didn't we just order? How long has it been?" My favorites were the Filet of Pacific Basa and Nuevo Latino Fried Rice. The Pacific Basa was super moist and packed so much flavor. I'm usually wary of ordering fish when eating out because dry fish is no bueno. It came served on this sizzling platter and I may have eaten half of it myself from my end of the table's portion. The Nuevo Latino Fried Rice had chicharron, chicken, egg, and some other stuff in there, and it was definitely one of the more interesting fried rice dishes I've had in a while. I also don't usually order fried rice when eating out because I figure it's easy enough to do at home. Yeah, I can't do what they did here. I was also a pretty big fan of the roast pork we got. It looked like your generic roast pork you get at a chinese restaurant, but the flavoring was different. I think someone mentioned they use bourbon when making it O_O There wasn't a single dish that was bad, only negative I have to say is their fries tasted average, and the steak was slightly overcooked. This place is amazing. The quality and quantity of the food is outstanding. Literally every time i have been here it was a great time. I normally get the pork chops with the fried rice and a big ice tea. When food gives you the itus you know it was good. But, the food isn't the only thing that's good. Very happy i visited this place today.... My party of 5 didnt have to wait long to be seated, all in all it was about a 15 minute wait on a friday evening (7ish). The wait staff was attentive and polite. Our server was helpful, and knowledgeable when it came to the menu. The food was served very fast, and piping hot. Everyone at our table was extremely pleased and impressed with what they had ordered. Their fried rice was some of the best I have ever had, and im from Queens, where the Chinese food is some of the best in the country! Nonetheless, i will definitely be returning to this restaurant, and will absolutely recommend trying them. *BTW, this particular location (#2) looks to be newly built, is large, tastefully designed and very clean. The chicken chunks were some of my fav. Rice and beans very authentic tasting. It came with a seafood pastellio or empanada. The seafood pastellio was not my thing but this could be due to my homemade shrimp ones being out of this WORLD therefore i am a harsh critic. My bf got pollo & pork with rice and beans which he also loved. To start we had skirt steak tostones cups which were good (could've used a little extra garlic). Wow is all i have to say! I've been here before about 2 years ago and was so excited to come back. The place is always packed because it's just that good. To start they brought out fresh garlic bread which hit the spot since we were starving. We asked for 2 more bowls! We order the tostones guacamole and lechonsito de yuca as apps. The guac was good but the lechonsito paired with the sweet sauced was to die for . I ordered the chofan de dos golpes. Damn. Now this is the best fusion of Dominican and Chinese cuisine I've ever had. It comes with two fried eggs, Dominican salami and avocado slices. Since I was driving I got the passion fruit smoothie which was sweet and delicious but I heard the passion fruit cocktail was just as good. (Dejected sigh) Orders are brought to table AFTER arrival of lemonade pitcher AND previously prayed for ...water.The lemonade was on the "pucker-up-or-drool-on-yaself" tart side BUT now WATER would again have employment since missing its meeting with BREAD. I had boneless ribs w pork fried rice from the lunch special menu. Pork ribs were nicely grilled but begged for a bit more glaze for flavor beyond that of...roasted pork. The rice was flavorful and plenty. Seductive bits of diced pork winked lewdly for my attention. Soy sauce married vegetables to rice. Tasty! We shared an appetizer of spicy drunken shrimp. Fried battered shrimp with a sweet glazed sauce which was NOT even accidently spicy. Points for the attractive bed of dry/fried (noodle?) that the shrimp rode on gracefully. The satisfying portion was shareable with hubby who voted it a strong...MEH! before he returned to watching a movie on his phone (Did he just Chef Ramsey me?) Hubby also did not like his lunch special of General Tso chicken w pork fr. rice. His chicken chunks were fried dry inside while the outer scraped inside his mouth.
