By far one of the best restaurants in the Bronx! I have gone here countless times and maybe once had a less than stellar meal. Even then, that was maybe because my meal was mildly warm when it came to the table. I've brought several family and friends to this restaurant and they are always satisfied and blown away by the quality of the food and service! Some of my favorite meals are the stuff lobster which is very reasonable priced and comes to you cracked open already saving you the trouble of getting messy, stuffed shrimp, chicharron de pollo, baked shrimp pasta, mofongo, muscles, curry, churrasco steak, table garlic bread, fried fish...and so much more to bake. I've honestly never had a bad dish! Know that if you order a rice dish, it's ENORMOUS! You're going to be taking some home lol. Also! It's a "No Tip Restaurant!" However, I still recommend, leaving the guys a little something, because they're amazing and deserve it! But they say that they give their employees a competitive wage and it's included in the menu prices. I think the menu prices are super reasonable still though. Hope you try it out and enjoy! Okay...I'm neither an agist, nor a racist, but what the hell man!!! So, took my graduating Godson here with another 7 family members including my beautiful wife and the Latin waiters decided they would stick us with the oldest, most Asian waiter on the planet! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the Asian-Latin fusion themed restaurants because c'mon!!!! Mofongo plus fried rice!!!! Anyway- our waiter needed help and a new prescription on his glasses because not only did we have to tell him what we wanted, we also had to show him on the menu making the ordering process take about 35 minutes by itself. The drinks (mostly ice waters and cokes) came 20 minutes later, and the appetizer (yes singular because the second one never came), came about 35 minutes in. Now, keep in mind that when we got there there were only three other groups there, all with their own waiters, the food came 50 minutes in, (I know because I only had 50 minutes left on the 2 hour meter out front). When all was said and done, the food was mediocre, the service lacking, and the time spent......., way too long. Update- Thank you Nelson for your expedient reply, however, it was your staff that chose to highlight age and race. Your Latino staff literally watched your staff member be overwhelmed and chose to help each other with smaller groups while our waiter struggled mightily with ours. Im ALL for this mix of Chinese/Dominican cuisine. Forreal. This is like yum factor on a million. This is the second Sabrosura location and it's pretty damn big. It's cheesily decorated and they have a picture menu... but that's what I like about these kinds of places, it tells me the food is going to be good. I called on the phone it was 7 pm n placed a order for pick up a half fried chicken n yellow rice which was good I was told about a 15 min wait so I got to this restaurant about 730 pm. N observed the man behind the counter a short light skin man with glasses with sorta of a nasty attitude does not like to speak much just wave his hand no. I absolutely love this place. Fantastic menu, huge portions, fresh and delicious food, and the place is huge (much bigger than the one on castle hill), which means less wait time. Whether I order for take-out or pick-up, the food arrives quickly and steaming hot. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I gave them 4-stars because their children's menu leaves a lot to be desired, and they only accept cash. I can't tell you how many times I've had to run to an ATM because I forget they don't take debit or credit. They have an ATM in the restaurant, but you have to pay the ATM's fee, and your bank's fee. OMG worst food I've ever ate! Greasy skirt steak and Greasy over breaded shrimp! The "mojito" did NOT taste like garlic...it tasted like spicy hot sause instead. The mofongo was dry and tasteless and no garlic sauce. They even served me rotten clams!!!! The most terrible taste I've ever had in my mouth! I spit it out and told the waiter. Just horrrible!!! The food at this restaurant is excellent! In my experience, I found the Churrasco very flavorful, well seasoned, and well cooked. In another occasion I tasted their barbecue ribs and they're amazing. In fact I've tasted many other foods and they are excellent. BUT! The reason I want to give it three stars is because the service is and all that good. We came here with a very large group for my aunts birthday and were seated in the back where it was very comfortable and not crowded at ll. They assigned one server to a party of about 20. I felt so bad for him because it was only him taking our orders, drinks and appetizers. Service was very slow but that is the management's fault and not the servers fault as he was trying to serve us and accommodate our every demand. We waited so long for our food but it was very good. I had the salmon and it was seasoned well and not dry and very moist. I loved my maduros too they were very good and soft and a little crunchy in the outside. We didn't feel rushed at all. Not only I saved hundreds on dinner I was able to get my whole family treated to a Mother's Day meal and everyone enjoyed the food. Been there a few times and always get my bourbon ribs and chicken with white rice and beans. Their beans are really good. Their prices are fair. $8-13 for most entrees. A couple of my family members said their food was a little on the salty side but was still good. I had their specialty "On the 6" drink. It's like their version of a Long Island. Not impressed. This is my second time at sabrosura 2 and I will say that we waited long periods of time for our waiter, had to practically beg for containers for our leftover food and to top it off they ran out of coffee. OK Here we go I a have discovered a hidden gem in the Bronx, Sabrosura 2 I visited this place over the weekend after reading some of there prior reviews on Yelp. I found their Chino/Dominican menu very interesting so decided to go there. Upon entering I noticed that it reminded me of a big open spaced cafeteria, not fancy at all however very busy which meant that they had to be doing something right the I discovered what is was. They had an awesome selection of freshly made appetizers that were mind blowing good! You must try their signature stuffed tostones they are UNBELIEVABLE!. I ordered an Arroz Chofan which looks like Fried Rice prepared with Chicken, Chicharron, and Shrimps and it was CRAZY GOOD, the portion could feed 3, however after I tasted it I wasn't sharing this with nobody. I also tried their fried fish which was equally as good. My wife ordered the typical Steak and onions with rice and beans and according to her it was beyond typical in taste. I noticed that everything that was served to us was truly OVER THE TOP in flavor and portion. My biggest regret is not visiting this place sooner. Their original spot has been on Castle Hill ave for years and it just never dawned on me to go there because I thought it would be your typical Chinese wanna be Spanish restaurant and boy was I wrong in a big way. Very disappointed. Ordered a chicken mofongo and I was given a soup bowl with what I'm hoping is "mofongo" at the BOTTOM. Completely drowned in soup, not even the normal gravy accompanied by mofongo. I was able to pour the soup into a bowl to the top from how drowned out the mofongo was. Their was pieces of soggy chicken floating around. I looooove this place! The food portions are very generous, and it's always fresh & delicious. The chofan Nuevo Latino, and the mojito chicken are my favorite dishes. The chofan is better than any I've had in New York, and very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get! Two to three people can eat from an order. The restaurant itself is very big and spacious, which means it's rare to wait more than five minutes for a table. The reasons I gave it four stars are: they only take cash, if you order regular Chinese food (like chicken wings & fried rice) it's a bit overpriced, and the minimum for delivery is a bit high as well. These are by no means deal-breakers though. I highly recommend giving it a try. read more
