    Vietnamese coffee
    Alan B.

Been craving some good soup, finally stopped here. It was empty when I arrived but filled up as I left. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee, summer rolls and the mi- thin egg noodle combination. The coffee was a slow drip style, after I mixed it with the condensed milk and poured it over ice. The coffee was awesome, just the perfect kick I needed! I got the summer rolls first and they were HUGE! A small person would probably fill up from them! Lastly came the soup and I didn't have to add anything extra to it. Just the extra things they bring with it (lime, bean sprouts, peppers, mint). The soup was perfect! I'll definitely be back. I'd like to try the pho next time!

Friendly family oriented atmosphere. Fresh and not greasy food. Been coming here for years never disappoints. Our fav is the jalapeños shrimp, dumplings and P5 pho is our go to.

I had been craving pho for weeks and finally decided to give in. I yelped the nearest pho restaurant and drove over to SaDec Bistro. SaDec is tucked in a large shopping center with other eateries and retail stores. There's plenty of parking. I was greeted warmly as soon as I entered. The space is well-lit, open, and inviting. I asked the nice gentleman behind the hostess stand a few questions before deciding. I opted for the P15. Tofu & Veggies pho as well as an order of A3. Summer Rolls, shrimp only. I sat on a bench while waiting for my order, which didn't take long at all. Once I made it home, I quickly opened the containers. The broth was still hot which was nice. However, I was disappointed by the amount of tofu and vegetables. There were only a few pieces of small tofu cubes and not that many veggies either (see photo). Fortunately, the broth was delicious. It was flavorful. The spring roll also only had very little shrimp pieces; I believe just two shrimps cut in half to make it look like there's four. I knocked off a star for the small amount of protein and veggies as well as lack of veggie or seafood broth options. They only offer beef and chicken broth, though I did enjoy the beef broth. I would order pho here again, but will try a different protein!

SaDec Bistro is a semi-upscale Vietnamese restaurant located on the Mesa/Gilbert border. The interior, while quaint, has an authentic and charming vibe. There were only a few people dining inside. The service was very, very slow. For not being very crowded, it took over 15 minutes to get drinks and order our food. We were a bit disappointed in the inconsistency in the waitresses. We split the Fried Potstickers along with an order of Fried Rice. The food was actually pretty good! The Potstickers were crunchy and had a perfect sauce on the side. The Fried Rice was also delicious, and seasoned perfectly. Based on the atmosphere and food I would give a 4 star review, but I'm docking a star due to the inconsistent service.

The restaurant is clean and orderly. Convenient location and fairly quick. The server was pleasant but the hostess could use a lesson in dressing more appropriately for the role. The food had good, not great flavor and portion size was on par with other pho eateries. In my opinion, this establishment won't be able to sustain with prices that are mind boggling! Unfortunately this will be a one and done experience due to exorbitant prices for a mediocre experience.

Good pho. Generous serving size I was able to have leftovers the next day. The gyoza was also very good with or without the sauce.

Ask the Community - SaDec Bistro

Do you have any Pho dishes that don't use garlic?

Hi Zachary- pho is just beef broth simmered with aromatics & ours do not contain any garlic. Hope this helps!

Does this place do take out?

    Yes!

Is this the same place that was Red Koi sushi? Does it have the same cooks and owners?

Yes. And it is fantastic. Get the combo Pho with the meatballs and steak. Also the summer rolls. I hope this place get lots of reviews because we have no good Pho close by.

The first time I had it, I actually couldn't stop thinking about it because I was genuinely surprised with how good it was. I also noticed that they are very consistent with the taste of the broth. Usually when I get pho, the broth doesn't always taste the same but here at Saigon it does. The broth is very rich and savory. I also noticed they add a lot of noodles which I love but I also wish they added more broth. The meat is also very tender, I always go with the brisket and it always tastes great. I personally like my soup to have extra green onion, unfortunately if you do ask for extra there is a charge of $2. I also recommend the egg rolls, they're packed with flavor and honestly it's just a good appetizer to have before your pho. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very spacious. Every time I've gone there's never any wait. The service has also been great, I've had maybe 1 time where it wasn't as great but it was still good. The food always comes out fresh and very hot. Overall, I love this restaurant so much and I will continue coming back!

My aunt was served a bowl that was dirty on the outside (yes... the bowl, not just the table -- see the photo I attached). Not exactly appetizing... and she didn't eat it at all, it was completely untouched. We told the staff immediately, and instead of, I don't know.. like maybe apologizing or replacing it like a normal restaurant?.. They basically said it was our fault and still charged us for the untouched dish. So just to confirm: you can serve dirty dishes and still get paid? That is a interesting business model, I've never seen anything like it! Then they hit us with a 20% service fee, which is honestly kind of iconic considering the service was: * ignoring customers * denying what we clearly told them * and charging us anyway Like... thank you for the experience I guess??? And to top it off, after I actually ate there, I had the worst stomach ache and diarrhea. So NOT only do you pay for food you don't eat, you might also leave with a free health issue! LOVE THAT!!! As someone who is Vietnamese, this was just embarrassing. You expect better standards, better hospitality, and at the very least... clean bowls??? Overall, if you enjoy paying for untouched food, being gaslit, and risking your stomach, this is your place. Otherwise, I'd look for somewhere else to eat.

I went back and forth with the worker about the signs saying "pay cash save $3" but she kept asking me to check her math. She said if it was card it would be an extra $3. I told her that a credit card fee (that's not stated anywhere) is not the same as saving $3 in cash. When I asked for the cash back to pay with card she refused to give me the cash back. When I asked her to show me how she would charge the extra $3 she didn't know how (makes me believe she was lying over the cash price being lower). I was a little taken back by that charge, but I get people are trying to take care of the credit card fees. Just know this before going in. Other than that, read on. Being stranded in a hotel with no transportation leaves. You limited options for food. Lucky for me, there were a couple restaurants on the street. I had seen this place, but noted that it was only open Thursday through Sunday. So it was my lucky day to go there on a Thursday. From the street, the place doesn't look like much. It's located in a strip mall, with just a lonely sign at the top, and a couple of stone lions out front. Front. I really wasn't sure what to expect. But reading on Yelp The rave reviews that it got gave me hope for a great meal! Walking inside, the place is neat as a pin, very clean, with plenty of seating. Beer bar at the back of the room and a couple of TVs on the walls. The decor is very contemporary, and looks up to date. I had ordered a Thai iced tea and a water to start with. I was brought a plastic bottle of water and my Thai iced tea in a plastic cup. Not quite the restaurant experience I am used to, but you know what? It was. Okay. The Thai iced tea was very tasty and I could have drank at least three more of them. I had ordered the chicken wings, and of course I had to order them extra crispy. You get six wings, three drums and three flats, with some sauce on the plate for $12.99. for $12.99. they did not seem like they were extra crispy., and the breading on the wings I really couldn't identify. It seemed like it might be panko crumbs, but I wasn't really sure. Regardless, they were tasty. Were they the best ones I've ever had? No they were not. But they were pretty good for the price. I wish they would have put the sauce in a separate bowl on the side so that I could actually dunk the chicken wing in it rather than sort of wipe the plate with it, but that's just a small thing. I ordered the number 19 which was sliced steak in broth with rice noodles. The broth was really amazing, and the sliced steak was medium rare, and allowed to cook in the hot broth. The flavors were so good. So good. I actually drank all of the broth. Bottom line? I would totally hear again, there were so many things on the menu that I would have loved to try but did not get a chance to. If you are ever off main Street in Mesa, you would do well to come here for a nice, warm fine filling meal.
