Tagliatelle Funghi
Kristin H.

Came ~5pm on Sunday. We made a reservation beforehand for a party of 2 and got seated immediately at a rectangular table wedged next to the staircase. The spot is so cramped that the two seats were 90 degree next to each other and the closest table is ~6inch away (not exaggerating this distance because neither we nor the other party seated at that table could squeeze through that space; we all had to get to our seats through the other side so minus a star). The restaurant is half full, but the staff won't let us change a table (they said the other tables are reserved for a large party but those tables remained empty the whole time we were there and the restaurant remained half full, hence removing another star). Food was delicious for WaHi. We got several dishes: - pumpkin soup (supposedly a daily special): savory and mildly sweet. Highly recommend - burrata: very fresh - spaghetti al limone: very lemony. My partner likes it, but am not a big fan of lemon in general so not my fav - tagliatelle al funghi: absolutely delicious if you are a fan of mushrooms! Overall, delicious food but subpar seating.

service is amazing , I love the ambience and total lighting of the restaurant it makes it very very cozy, the food is good and the place is very elegant .

Wow! What a fantastic restaurant. I enjoyed the Chicken Parmigiana and I was completely impressed. The restaurant was quiet and the service was outstanding.

Saggio, I have zero complaints about this amazing Italian gem, I came here to celebrate a milestone with family and everyone was delighted with their picks from the steak, to pastas and deserts. Everything was timely, the atmosphere was romantic, I only suggest that its a pretty small establishment so large parties will probably feel cramped, 1-4 people is the sweet spot! I personally had the Fettuccine Alfredo, a glass of Cabernet, and a small desert and it was all delicious Highly recommend, will be coming back in the future!

I was introduced to this place by a friend. After several hours of community service I was in need of a good meal and I wanted brunch. This place is warm, cozy and the food is great. The pancakes are among the best that I ever had. My friend's potatoes were yummy as well. I think the mimosas were free for an hour. It was more than enough time to have more than enough mimosas. I cannot wait to go back again!!!

I'm a little surprised by some of the reviews here - we came here for a friends birthday and absolutely loved it. I'm a big fan of Italian food and often struggle finding good Italian restaurants that rivals my family's home cooking and I would 100% eat at Saggio again. The restaurant is small, so a reservation at prime mealtimes is recommended. Everyone was super friendly and had great recommendations. They have a seasonal rotating cocktail menu that we ordered from and some delicious food specials. We tried the eggplant rollatini appetizer which was great and I was even more surprised by the sautéed calamari which was perfectly cooked and a different approach than your typical fried calamari. I had to order the chicken liver pate crostini and taste and texture was perfect. For dinner I had a special - burrata ravioli in vodka sauce which I loved (how can you go wrong?) And for dessert we shared the bread pudding which was delicious and moist. We will definitely be back!

The food is good (best Italian in the area), I just wish they opened earlier in the evening/afternoon.

The pasta was al dente perfection and most importantly there were generous sauce portions. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and personable. I dined with a friend and we ordered 3 pastas instead of an appetizer (fantastic choice). We tried the following dishes: *Garganelli Mushroom Ragu and Ricotta Salata. This was by far our favorite dish. It was bursting with flavor, had tons of sauce and cheese and was perfectly cooked. If you enjoy mushroom you MUST order this!! *Tagliatelle Bolognese Bianco (Chicken, Veal, Pork) and Parmigiano. Which was so delicious and has plenty of meat and sauce. The tagliatelle was amazing and tasted to fresh. *Bucatini with Pancetta, Tomato, Chilies and Pecorino. We thought this was good but our least favorite dish of the 3. Honorable mention to the spaghetti that my friend had at her last visit. She said it was fresh and delicious but almost too rich which she mostly owned to it being a white sauce.

We started with the housemade focaccia and Wagyu carpaccio--both were outstanding, with the perfect balance of crispy, flavorful, and fresh elements. My partner and I shared the pasta, hangar steak, and potatoes, which turned out to be the ideal amount for two. We finished with the famous olive oil cake, which we loved for its subtly sweet, moist and tender bite. Served with lightly whipped cream and raisins, the combination was surprisingly delicious. We were also touched by the complimentary anniversary scoop of ice cream. The interior seating is a bit snug, but the decor is beautiful--elegant yet homey. The service was good as well. Overall, we highly recommend L'Artusi for a special night out!

Water and excellent bread arrived immediately and the waiter was helpful describing dishes and giving advice. Salads were fresh and crisp. Caesar was nicely dressed and the mixed salad was a nice combination with well balanced herb vinaigrette. Seafood dishes had large amounts of fresh seafood and the veal picatta had the lemony flavor you expect without excessive acidity. Dessert was tasty and innovative. The ricotta based cheese cake wasn't as smooth as the cream cheese form but the citrus flavor was great. Throughout the meal water and bread were refilled, plates from completed courses removed and next delivered without being overly hovering. All in all a really great meal.

It works especially well for a mixed group since they have plenty of options including dishes without meat and everyone can find something. Even my picky niece and nephew were happy. My favorite entree is the Capellini Puttanesca, with capers, olives, basil, and anchovies. It's super tasty, satisfying, and the perfect portion. I also love that they offer wine by the glass and the service is consistently attentive. The waiters are always moving through the room, checking tables, refilling water, and making sure people have what they need. It's good, reliable, and near Broadway.
