Came for pho as I had been craving it for weeks. This place had a pretty basic inside and there were a fair amount of people in there. I now live in DC, where everything is super expensive so this place was cheap cheap cheap compared to what I am used to. Had the Pho Ga (chicken) and spring rolls split between my friend and I, he also had a bowl. I think it came out to $10 a person. This is great! Service was fast and pleasant enough. They weren't super quick, especially on refilling water (with no ice). But it was busy and we were not worried. Halfway through the meal we turned to our sides and realized there was a whole additional room in the restaurant, we had thought it was a mirror. My pho was good, especially for the price. Nothing I could say was better than any other pho. I will say it came particularly bland. Sometimes this is normal, but I certainly helped myself to sauce and siracha. They were also somewhat slow to bring the check. You don't pay at the table, at the register instead so if you are in a rush I am pretty sure you could just walk up there. It's used to be "Pho Lighthouse", which offered a great pho ;( It's in a shopping center right close to the bank. It's Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant now - pho and a few more Vietnamese items and some Chinese dishes. Decor is simple with "Chinese" style lamps and typical pop & mom place. Plenty of tables, no outside seating. It was kinda cold, so don't forget to bring your jacket (I'm not kidding). They have TVs and a stage for Karaoke ?!?! It's weird for restaurant... The staff are friendly. Cash only! - Gluttony Expedition - #2) Pho with rare steak and well done steak: The broth for pho was a bit stinky (which I do like when it comes to pho broth) and sweet side with a medium body - not bad if you prefer a sweet broth. I wish the broth temperature was hot, not warm. The rare steak was good. So I, like many Yelpers here, stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge. If you have been there, you know how expensive the food is there, and how meh the food at their restaurants/buffets are. We were a group of 9, hungry, hungover (well, minus the 3 children), and far too lazy/smart to move our cars from the sweet parking spots we got at GWL. But not to worry! Saigon 9 is literally a walking distance away. You know it has to be good because [1] there is a number in the name, [2] the name is not a pun, and [3] there's a mini stage next to the bar where live music can be had. Oh, and I guess [4] because it's in Anaheim, home to many pho places open really late, and hence makes for some very good food competition. I can definitely say that I am really picky in judging Vietnamese restaurants' pho menu items. I've only maybe had the best pho bowls from 4 different places (this place being one of them). I'm not going to give you my life story and go down memory lane, so here goes my 2 cents about our experience. A group of nine, like I stated above, walked in and got seated in the larger party area near the bar and mini stage. A waitress comes by and grabs all of our orders, and mind you, doesn't write anything down. She says "ok, the food will be out shortly." Our curious and surprised eyes were now questioning just how good she was. Fast forward, she got all of the orders right, even down to the pickiest of orders. Service was great and the food was impeccable. I ordered the pho tai (I don't remember the menu number) and the broth was just right; not salty, a little fatty, but very fresh. Everything was great until we got to the check part. Waitress gets perturbed that she asked us if we wanted to split checks and said no in the beginning (which she never asked) and has to now split checks and remember what our group of nine ordered. So that was our only con. If I am ever around that area, I will still come back because I know the pho is legit. I can't say too much about other menu items like noodles or rice combos, or even dessert, so this is where the review comes to a stop. The place is clean, there is ample parking (if you did drive), it is within 1-2 blocks from the Great Wolf Lodge, and food is up there. read more

Man there are high standard around these parts for Asian food. If this restaurant were in San Diego it would be getting 5 stars. The Pho is actually really good and they have many dishes Vietnamese restaurants don't often offer. This restaurant is super vegetarian friendly and all the dishes I had were pretty well prepared. Good food but terrible service! We came here with high hopes but were extremely disappointed with this place. The restaurant took forever to bring 2 of our dishes, and then completely forgot about the other 2 items we ordered. Only after following up multiple times did the other items arrive. Even worse, the staff was not apologetic at all. When we asked the waiter what happened, he responded, "I don't cook. The other tables have been well taken care of." Unbelievable - they clearly don't know what customer service is! The food was actually pretty good - I liked my bun thit nuong (grilled pork with noodles). It's a shame the service was so atrocious. Food: - House special fried rice $6.95 - very fragrant and taste pretty good. plenty of meat and sausages. the rice isnt too mushy or oily. recommended for fried rice lover. - Regular pho $5.95 - $1 cheaper for kids size and $1 more for large size. if you like light broth with no or little msg inside, then this is for you. the broths isnt as salty and oily as other pho places and i like it. big portion and plenty of meat pieces inside. - Banh xeo $6.75 - my new favorite place to get banh xeo after vans restaurant. the crepes is a little too greasy for me but i like how crispy the crepe is. i cant imagine how much oil they used to fry this and i dont even want to imagine it. Service: - better than other vietnamese restaurants. i dont really have many good experience when eating at vietnamese restaurant in garden grove or westminster area.the servers are either rude, ignorant, or just terrible. but this one is the exception. the workers here are very nice, friendly, and come to check our table to make sure everything is okay. Very disappointed as I am sitting here. I've been on the hunt for a really good chicken fried in nouc mam / fish sauce. After seeing their Yelp pictures , I decided to give this place a try. The waiter doesn't seem like he cares about great customer service. I showed him the picture of the chicken advertised on their Yelp compared to what they brought me. Didn't seem like he cared about the difference and kept insisting on the plate being what I ordered and walked away before I was even finished talking. Walked in here, and decided to order something different. Went with 1. Number 17, Tbone Steak. Very good, infused with a special sauce. Not like a typical steak, very sweet., tender and succulent 2. I was craving Fried Rice. Great LARGE portion. Fresh! 3. Side Salad was great, and the Vietnamese Coffee sealed the deal. Just opened, so it was a tad slow. Went in late for dinner, thought they were closed but they all got up and welcomed me in. I ordered and my shrimp pho came fast which was great since I was exhausted, hungry, tired and wanted to get home. I made my pho a little too spicy and ran out of water. One of the employees went back to studying and others were in the back. I placed my glass out by then side of the table, more people came in but they were missing the sign until I finally asked for it. After a night of celebrating a friends wedding, a bowl of Pho is what I craved after a nap... I didn't want to go far. I wanted to stop somewhere quickly and grab it and go. I turned to yelp... This place is across the street from me and it used to be called something else. The reviews looked good so I thought I would give it a try. I took a glimpse of the menu and settled for spring rolls and Pho Dac Biet. I ordered it to go. It was good but, nothing amazing. My dad makes better pho. I would come again though. This is my go to pho place since it's close to my house. The first time I tried this restaurant I was surprised by how good the broth was. It was flavorful and the aroma was strong. I always get pho dac biet because I like everything. Our first experience here out waiter messed up my brothers order by giving him the wrong dish. My brother was upset but didn't ask for a new one because he felt bad returning the order since they just had the grand opening. Other than that everything usually goes well here. For lent I gave up meat and decided to try the vegetarian pho. To my surprise this soup was also amazing. They use mushroom powder broth but I couldn't really tell the difference. Also for take outs they give the perfect amount maybe even more per meal. I'm never dissatisfied with my take outs. I love this place on the go! read more

Really like this place. We got in pretty late on a Friday night and when we called and placed the order the gladly delivered right away. We ordered the Saigon fried rice (comes with Chinese sausage) and we asked for chicken as well, an order or chicken pho, and grilled pork chop over rice. Everything was good, especially the Saigon fried rice!!! They even gave us an extra container of just the broth for my daughter. Major plus that they deliver ( and pretty quickly at that). Came in one night because I had a sudden craving for Pho, and this place seemed to have good reviews (food, not service). Service when we came was GREAT! Our server was very friendly and our food came out quickly. Egg rolls were crispy, hot, and very tasty. Lettuce was decent but I've had much crisper at other Pho places. And they give you a lot of mint leaves when I'd much prefer cilantro. But I was still happy. Pho noodles are good and chewy without being hard. Broth is light and doesn't taster like it has too much MSG. Meats in the Combo are diverse but lacking. I definitely would have liked one more piece of everything. The broth in the veggie Pho is amazingly refreshing. I was very surprised and satisfied with the tastes in this bowl. Heck, I'm a huge meat eater but I'd order this after a meaty bowl of pho purely as a palate cleanser. Very good. Dining area is large, clean, and hosts several dark wood chairs and tables. The entrance has large glass doors. I was not expecting that. Size options are available and the Large is LARGE. Prices are very fair. Beware that there's karaoke on some nights so have a fall back plan if you aren't given to that sort of thing. When we came, it was very quiet and both our server and the cashier were nice. A friend took me here for lunch once and I have been coming once week since then. Since the whole stay at home situation, they have been open and the quality of food has been the same. I love their vegetarian pho, the mushroom broth is so savory and always super fresh and hot even when I get home. The veggies and tofu they use are fresh and healthy, you can tell they take great care in what ingredients they use. They have a good vegetarian section on their menu which is nice since it's hard to find at some pho places. Sometimes we will have a special request with our order, and they are happy to oblige us. It's a small family-owned and run establishment and their customers mean a lot to them. The fried shrimp (#7) is another favorite, as well as the beef broth and pho. Their iced coffee is to die for, I take one morning or night, even if it costs me my dear sleep. They have limited outside seating as well as takeout. They charge 50 cents for card orders if you prefer to pay cash. The lady up front is always friendly and helpful. read more

I went to this place for dinner earlier today. This was my first time ever eating pho so I wasn't sure what to expect. I ordered the seafood combination (#24)it came with a side of sprouts, basil leaves, chopped jalapeños and lime. I also ordered the spring rolls (#2) and the Vietnamese pancakes with shrimp and other sorts of meat (#4). Overall I thought the appetizers were great, but can't say I fell in love with pho. I ordered the fish sauce chicken wings to go, and they were ready and waiting 20 minutes later when I went to pick them up. That's probably the only good thing I have to say in this review. The woman who I paid for my order wasn't wearing a mask, which is a little concerning given there's a certain pandemic going on. The chicken skin and meat were predominantly rubbery in texture, and the fish sauce didn't cling well to the chicken (because the chicken was rubbery), so rolling the chicken in the sauce didn't help cover it in more flavor. The fish sauce itself wasn't bad, but it didn't blow me away. The most problematic thing about this chicken was the multiple short straight black hairs I found on several pieces--while I do have black hair, it's long, goes down to my mid-back and I've not had a haircut since last year. I would consider coming back to try some other dishes, but only if the staff takes proper precautions like wearing masks and no more hairs get into the food. (I noticed another reviewer commented about the hair, so this doesn't seem like a one-off accident...) read more
