I love supporting local Vietnamese restaurants so I decided to stop by Saigon Beach after hiking the area. I love that I was able to look up their menu online beforehand and it was exactly what was at the restaurant. Parking was easy in their parking lot. Once I placed my order at the counter, I grabbed a table on the patio with my dog. The patio was nice and cozy with plenty of shade. Dac Biet Special Skillet (4/5) - this dish came out sizzling with two sunny side up eggs, filet mignon cubes cooked perfectly, and some cherry tomatoes. I didn't see any pate, but I might have missed it. The baguette was lightly toasted and soaked up the sauce perfectly. Thai Tea Float with oat milk ice cream (5/5) - I got this drink/dessert on a whim because of the oat milk ice cream. I am so glad I got it. The Thai tea was delicious and then the oat milk ice cream was amazing. read more

This place is over rated. A 2 or lower should be. Food is salty, esp Pho noodle soup, and not tasty. Price is much more expensive than other Vietnamese food. Server/cashier is rude. You walked in, not only he didn't welcome you, and he quickly asked you to go up to the counter and pay first before you even look at the menu. read more

I came to Saigon beach the other day after checking them out on yelp, and it did not disappoint one bit! I ordered the coconut pandan waffles and the sticky rice munchies, as well as a Saigon beer. The pandan waffles were my favorite. They were sweet enough and truly tasted like pandan. The whipped cream was delicious and coconut flavored, and i normally don't even like whipped cream! The sticky rice munchies were tasty and filling. I liked how you could pick your choice of filling. However, I do wish there was a little more put into the presentation of this plate. The service was outstanding; the worker who helped us recommended beers that ended up being amazing. He also offered us water cups, and he was super friendly. I'm excited to try more menu items at Saigon beach and maybe even have a Saigon again sometime soon! read more

Visited them for lunch the other day, and was pretty happy to learn that they have a happy hour from 2-5pm (tues-fri only). This Vietnamese spot has a small parking lot, so you can easily find parking and grab a bite. The restaurant is pretty decently-sized, with ample seating inside and out. There's a sign out front that lets you know to order at the front. Once you order, they give you a number for your table, and they'll bring the food to you when it's ready. We got the crazy rich baos, lemongrass soup, and banh mi dip. The baos were actually so good, and they were part of the happy hour menu! Baos were filled with pickled veggies and grilled pork. The lemongrass noodle soup was also very delicious, and had a nice tangy and spicy kick to it. Prices here are pretty standard for modern Vietnamese places. Our total came out to around $45-50 for the three items. There are a few team members that were working, but everyone was really nice and friendly. read more

So good! The restaurant is located on PCH and has a modernized-traditional vibe. The service was extremely quick and friendly, I appreciated that our server helped us with recommendations on his favorite imported beer for us to try. The food was phenomenal, especially the coconut pandan waffle. It had an incredible crunch on the outside, as well as a chewy inside. There is limited parking by the restaurant. (Own parking lot) You order at the counter and they bring you the food. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There is a clean restroom inside. We ordered banh mi, garlic noodles, wings and dirty fries. Everything was super tasty. They give you soda cans. They also have water with ice so you can easily serve yourself. I would return and taste the other food items. read more

Such a nice little authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Laguna right along PCH! It's so nice this restaurant has opened up because I can never find authentic, ethnic and affordable food in Laguna. It's now our favorite little lowkey spot! We came on a Friday summer evening and there was no crowd or lines, so we were able to order our food and find a seat right away. Extremely cost effective for Laguna beach, super convenient and homemade feeling, fresh and healthy and tasty Vietnamese food. The food is really comforting for me and I always feel good after eating here! Definitely recommend visiting !! Then go for a walk across the street to the beach for an epic sunset!! read more

On Friday, 6/19 I came in for lunch at 12:15pm. Their website and several signs at this restaurant showed it to be open from 11am to 8:30pm. But it was locked up and no explanatory notices. Not a good practice for any visitors, much less locals who eat there often. Disappointing! read more

Actually really good food. I went solo, which is a rarity, and ordered a couple things that the cashier recommended. I got the Vietmanese Coffe/Thai tea combo, and it was really good. I also got the grilled pork bahn mi and the fried egg rolls. It was all good. The eggrolls were nice and crispy with a good tangy sauce and the bahn mi's grilled pork was really flavorful. Over all pretty nice/generic looking place that does the job. Definitely would make a good take out joint also. read more

Yes and yes! This place was amazing! So good. I loved the fusion aspect. We got the Dirty fries which had the pork on top with crunchy onions and spicy mayo. So much flavor. Any the pork belly lollipops were bite size goodness with the crunchy onion things. My ultimate favorite was the papaya salad, so incredibly fresh and flavorful. The place is cute and cozy. You order at counter and our cashier was super friendly. Next time I come I have to try the green rice. read more

When I was looking for a Vietnamese restaurant to meet up in Laguna beach, I came across this gem! It's a cozy, homey spot with a great atmosphere for dining. We ordered fried egg rolls, crispy wontons, a pork banh mi, a pork vermicelli bowl, pho (traditional soup), chicken curry, passionfruit mango limeade, and Thai iced tea. The food was absolutely delicious, I especially loved the appetizers! The server, who was the only one working that day, was like Wonder Woman! She was friendly, easy to talk to, and super nice. It was the perfect combination of good food, great service, and a lovely place to try. read more

The food here hits a craving when you need it. There's not a lot of these type of restaurants in the area so I'm glad that it is here. The outdoor patio seating is pretty cool with a side of hipster. The few times I've been it seems like they are understaffed because most of the tables were not bussed so we just ended up bussing our own table outside so we can sit down. Pretty much all the dishes we ordered was pretty good with one exception. I think the papaya salad is super bland so I would not recommend that particular dish here. read more

YUM!!! we came here under my friends recommendation. She loves this place. And for good reason, it's very popular with the locals. It's so good. We had one of the rice wraps and the 420 green rice with chicken. So good. This is a cute little place on the corner off of PCH. They've got a large outdoor area a nice indoor area with lots of tables very dog friendly and you can find plenty of parking on the street either up the hill or on PCH. read more

Cute casual spot for Vietnamese food in Laguna Beach! It's fast casual, so you place your order at the counter and they'll bring your food to your table. The day we visited, the kitchen was slammed. They may have been down a person in the kitchen because everyone seemed to be waiting for their orders. Luckily, we were in no rush and the other customers didn't seem bothered either. After at least 30 minutes later, we got our food, and the dishes came flying out of the kitchen to the other tables that came after us, so I guess we just got unlucky with our timing. I got the grilled pork banh mi, which was good. It had a lot of pork. It was a little light on jalapeños and cilantro, which was fine by me because I prefer a light touch with those ingredients. The husband and wife that run Saigon Beach are very sweet. The husband apologized for the delay when he brought the food. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. They also have daily specials which sound delicious! read more

This is basically a takeout restaurant and the food is supposedly authentic Vietnamese so we'll see about that! The kids who work here are very nice and helpful and know about gluten-free and they have a lot of interesting gluten-free items on their menu! For post Xmas day trip decided to visit Laguna Beach with my daughter. Strolled in the beach very lovely and decided to eat Vietnamese. Check out Yelp and this place has a great review. We walked for a mile to reach this place and it's worthy. The restaurant was very casual. You order and pay and choose your own table . We sat outside and inhale ocean breeze. The outside patio was a little outdated. The dishes were delicious. Naman fried chicken wings with sweet and savory sauce were marinated well. You can taste it even up to the bone. The spring roll with shrimp and avocado were fresh and shrimp was big. The sauce made it so good. The pork belly lollipops were bomb. It was so crispy yet not too oily nor fat. The sauce and crispy onion added the final touches to your palate. The curry tofu was ok. It has a lot of root vegetables that we enjoyed. We ordered the pho and spring rolls. The waiter recommended we swap the basic broth to the spicy lemongrass broth and I'm so glad we did. That broth was so delicious. 10/10 recommend. The filet mignon was also tender and good quality (I get sketched easily with this type of meat and I was pleasantly surprised). Overall, some of the better pho I've had in OC. My absolute favorite Viet spot! I would eat here every single day if I could. The staff is polite and attentive, bathrooms and dining area are always clean, and the food never disappoints. Tonight we had the vermicelli plate, nam nam wings, shaky beef w/ garlic noodles, and shrimp avocado spring rolls. And of course as always their Thai tea. We just decided to stop in and try a new place in town. The service was good. You order at the counter and sit with your number for them to deliver the food. It was quick! We ordered the Shakey Shakey Beef and Far East Curry with Chicken. Wow! So yummy and packed with amazing flavor. The beef was tender and so tasty. The side salad was spinach and fresh. Like the little coves and hideaway beaches this felt like a hidden gem. Spent some time at the beach away from the masses and we were hungry! The menu was limited, but had what we wanted, pork Banh Mi, papaya salad, and bao/sliders. The Banh Mi by far was the hit, 10/10. Not too much bread, loaded with delicious-not fatty pork, and a good amount of veggies. Next time I'm here I'll request jalapeños, since there was a scant amount of those and I would have liked that extra heat. The papaya salad was decent, flavorful dressing, and it made me feel healthy, 7/10. It would have been better with more peanuts and jalapeños or some kind of spicy veggie. I'm weird about Bao or Buns, I don't really like the texture of the bread, but I keep trying. The beef Bao were delicious, I loved the flavor of the meat, completely different spices and good veggies. 8/10, probably 10/10 if you're a Bao fan. I wish we could mix and match on the 2 for $12 special since I really wanted to try the Chicken, guess I should've paid the extra $2. On the whole the prices were very reasonable, especially for this neighborhood. Service was good, food came out very quickly with fun crunchy snacks on the side. The ambiance was simple and clean. Nice outdoor seating area, but I wouldn't want to hear all that traffic noise. So glad we stopped by, we will be craving that Banh Mi . read more

I have had a lot of Pho in my life every town I go to I will look for a Vietnamese restaurant. Not all Pho is the same I believe it's how they prepare it determines the final result. The Pho here with the Filet Mignon was stellar in every way beats any Pho I have ever tasted. This place alone would make a visit back to Laguna Beach worthwhile. They deserve their well earned reputation read more

Surprisingly easy parking considering its location. During a girls' weekend with my friends, we had dinner here at Saigon Beach on a Saturday evening. Enjoyed it so much that we decided to come back the next day for lunch so that we could enjoy their morning menu which is available until 3pm This quaint spot had few customers dining on the front patio when we arrived on a Saturday 6pm so we dined outdoors. There was a significantly bigger patio crowd on a Sunday at 2pm so we opted to sit indoors on that visit. Staff greeted us on both occasions as we ordered at the counter. I like that the menu clearly marks its vegan options. I was super stoked that they have jackfruit as a vegan option too. Fried Tofu Bites - probably the most "expensive" item that we ordered considering that it's $7 for 6 pieces of tofu. But the food quality, quantity, service and atmosphere make the price worth it. My kids already asked to return to this restaurant while we were still dining there. Kids loved the steak frites and Jidori fried chicken. Parents got the coconut curry with chicken and NY steak & eggs. Guava margarita packs a nice punch. I think a lot of the servers here are college students back for summer so I would say be a little patient but great food.

On this day, our server Edgar went out of his way to deliver outstanding service. My husband asked for something only on the weekday menu and Edgar made it happen - Bravo! That cinnamon roll is the size of a dinner plate, so we split it 3 ways (could have easily served four). The cream cheese frosting isn't overly sweet, so when paired with the candied bacon and maple syrup, it balances out nicely. Yum! Edgar kept my coffee cup full and made sure we didn't need anything. The ceviche is OUTSTANDING. Light chips, fresh fish, expertly seasoned. The addition of the pickled mustard seeds on top add something unique to the flavor profile, so much so that we were googling how to pickle mustard seeds ourselves. Some of the best ceviche we've ever had (and we've had a lot). Could be spicier, but delicious. So the food and service are great - did I mention the view? Sitting on the patio, you overlook a serene canyon and their golf course, and feel like you're in a completely different space. It's so beautiful, peaceful, open, and lush. I could sit on that patio and eat cinnamon rolls and drink my neverending coffee all day long. The ocean-facing restaurants get all the attention in this town. She took the time to chat with us, shared some of her favorite menu recommendations, and when she noticed us unsuccessfully trying to take a selfie overlooking the water, she kindly offered to take a photo for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Throughout dinner, Jesse was assisting our table, and he was fantastic. He always seemed to appear at just the right time without ever feeling intrusive. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. Our main server, Carson, was equally amazing. He was welcoming from the moment we sat down, incredibly attentive, and you could tell he genuinely cared about providing a great dining experience. Even after explaining that the charge was clearly not ours, we were told we would have to wait while they determined whose bill it actually belonged to. The restaurant made the mistake, yet instead of reversing the incorrect charge immediately, they expected us to wait while they sorted out their own billing error. As a result, we had to put our credit card on hold and spend a large part of our afternoon on the phone trying to resolve an issue that should never have been our responsibility. It's unfortunate because our anniversary dinner was otherwise a great experience. However, the lack of urgency and poor customer service in handling such a significant billing error overshadowed the evening. Because of how this situation was handled, we will not be returning.

I've been to a different location before (La Jolla) and I think this location wasn't as good. At the La Jolla location you can see the staff making the tortillas + churros and this location the tortillas were packaged. I'm not sure if they use the same ingredients but this could have changed the flavor profile. They were still yummy don't get me wrong but they just weren't as good as I remember them. I ordered chips and guac as well and the staff forgot to include it in my order so I had to go up to the counter another time which was quite a hassle given it's a very busy restaurant with the line out the door the entire time I was there. The salsa selection is rather nice especially when most restaurants are trying to cut down on salsa options + use the lower quality ingredients. You can tell the ingredients in the salsas were high + they even have a few creamy options which is hard to see at most Mexican restaurants these days. I do think the guac was a little limey but it wasn't bad when you added it to the tacos. If you go I would recommend you go with zero expectations of eating inside as there are about 5-6 tables + waiting a long time for your food. The beach is 10 steps away so you can always take your food to the beach too!

Perfectly crispy bacon, creamy blue cheese inside, and the sweetness of the date. Easily one of the best bites of the night. * Coconut shrimp - I'm not a seafood eater, but my friend devoured them and said they were excellent. * Hummus platter - Generous portion with cucumbers, carrots, plenty of pita, and a large serving of hummus. * Wine - Very generous pours for happy hour. Entrées * Steak tips - Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. * Sausage with polenta - Really flavorful and comforting. * Salmon bites - I didn't try these, but my friends loved them.
