Worst comes to worst, park in the plaza on Carson and Western and cross the street -Food comes out LIGHTNING fast -Don't recommend #5 if you want healthy.. Tendon is literally all fat. Taste 3.5/5 Aromatic, refreshing bowl of chewy steak and fatty tendon. Good portions of meat, but the steak was cooked when it arrived (wasn't rare). The soup is fantastic though! Delicately spiced and fun to customize. Noodles, not the biggest portion, were kind of stuck together when they arrived. If you want Authentic Vietnamese food 10/10, this is the place to go. I tried the Vermicelli Special with Pork and Shrimp. The noodle here was cooked to perfection cause I've tried other Vietnamese restaurants and it would be too dry or overcooked. The shrimp and pork are tender and goood. We ordered some take out on a Saturday morning for some hangover food. It says they open at 11AM but we called at 10:30AM and was able to put in a quick order (thank you!) We ordered the rare steak pho, noodle special pho and the 4 piece egg rolls. All of this came out to about $28. The phos both came in large because it was for take out and large was more than enough for us! It would be enough for 3 people and we loved it! The rare steak pho was a mistake to order take out because the steak didn't really cook. I should have thrown it on top of the stove to boil it a little but I was too lazy. Regardless, it was pretty good. It didn't have that super hearty and flavorful pho broth but it hit the spot. For the price, I really cannot complain and we really enjoyed it. They surprisingly pack the noodles, cilantro, lime, jalapeno, basil, etc. really well. I was pleasantly surprised because I always want a ton of lime and cilantro in mine and they gave it to us without us even having to ask! Try their Pho! Well, that's what I should have done, instead I got a combo meal with cold noodles and salad while the other person in my party got the Pho. I was able to steal some Pho from the other person and it was superb and I immediately regretted my original decision. Bottom line, eat the Pho, it is delicious. Can't eat noodles? Ordered the rare steak and brisket noodle soup, bbq pork spring rolls, and one of the vermicelli noodles - shredded pork mixed with pork skin, bbq pork and eggroll. All of the dishes we ordered were delightful, especially in Southbay where good Vietnamese food is rare. It's also the closest to my place where I can get a decent bowl of pho. The pho broth here is good and I definitely a spicy kick, which was a tad stronger than other places. The bbq pork spring roll was wrapped in a delicious skin and had all the bold sweet and bbq flavors. The vermicelli noodles always tasted like a good cold salad with tasty bold and flavorful protein. Unlike neighboring restaurants, this place has its own convenient private parking lot. read more

So I decided to have Vietnamese food for lunch from Saigon Bistro and my son wanted to try the new Mediterranean place next to Saigon Bistro. The parking lot is still empty since it is only past 10am. I parked in their parking lot in front of Taco Sinaloa and walked straight to the Green Olive to place my order. The old guy from Saigon Bistro followed me and tell me not to park in their parking lot, that I need to leave. I told him I didn't know that the parking is only for them and Taco Sinaloa. He told me I can park if only I'm doing a pick up order from Green Olive. I didn't even bother to tell him that I was going to order from their restaurant as well. The way he came to me was a completely off. I don't know if he's the owner of the Vietnamese restaurant but that was a big turn off. I ended up ordering my lunch from Taco Sinaloa instead. read more

Tasty pho with good egg rolls. Went here on a rainy day around 11:40 and there were a lot of empty tables. That all changed around 12:10 when every table filled up and there was a little of a wait for people to sit down. Upon entering my friend and I could smell a mixture of cleaner and soup. It was just something unexpected. This restaurant shares a parking lot with Taco Sinaloa so parking is a bit cramped during peak times. Service was extremely fast. Got our menus and ordered and the food came to our table in a matter of minutes. For an appetizer we got 4 fried egg rolls. They were tasty and had a nice crisp. They don't serve it with the lettuce wrap or any other toppings other than the fish sauce which I was a little disappointed by. But for a stand-alone egg roll it was good. I got the combination pho and the broth was pretty standard across all the different phos I've had. Noodles were good and the meat was standard quality. The size for a large is filling enough without having to struggle to wolf it all down. The Thai iced tea was also just average tasting. If you're looking for a standard pho to satisfy a craving then you can't go wrong with Saigon Bistro. Very middle of the ground restaurant. Nothing really stood out but at the same time it still satisfied everything I was looking for. Loved this little hole in the wall! From the super friendly and bubbly manager to the flavor of my pho! Everything came out quickly and hot and tasty! I got the #1 with rare meat, brisket, meatballs, tendon and tripe-yum! Oh and the jalapeños were also spicy and perfect. Food is decent. Even though there is a feeling of not getting what you pay for.... Now they are even charging half a dollar for an iced water. We are in big draught but you have a right to ask for water for free at any food place here in Cali. Would definitely bring my water bottle if I go there next time. read more

It's usually hard to go wrong with pho, but the pho soup here was sadly very bland. I was disappointed because the reviews said it was good, but coming from the San Gabriel Valley area, this definitely was not up to par... But it's one of the few pho restaurants in the area, so I guess beggars can't be choosers. The service was nice though, so extra star for that. read more

HAIR IN MY PHO! I found a hair in my pho halfway through eating it and when I told the server, she said "well that's funny because everyone in the kitchen is bald". Once you go Westminster, it's hard not to be picky! A nice older Vietnamese man took our order, but food was brought out by a Hispanic dude. I'm just gonna go straight to the shrimp pho I ordered. First thing I've noticed when the bowl landed in front of me was that the broth had a layer of grease. :/ The broth was kind of salty. I guess the only thing I liked about it was the amount of shrimp they gave me. They were pretty generous with the shrimp, so that was a good surprise. Because you know how us Asians can get pretty stingy with seafood! I would rate their pho 2 stars. I'm adding an additional star due to the good service. This place shares a lot with a taco joint. It used to be a Pizza Hut, you can tell from the architecture. The inside isn't too fancy, but there is a funky chandelier, it looks like flower petals. Behind the counter, there is a large flat screen TV. The menu has the regular, pho, vermicelli dishes and some rice dishes. We shared an order of eggrolls. I loved that they were cut in half, it made it easier to share them. The platter had a few leaves of lettuce, some pickled carrot, cucumber, sprouts and nuoc mam. They weren't greasy at all. I ordered the house special pho. Since I didn't know the portion sizes, I decided to go extra large (small, large or extra large options for soups). I have never been defeated by a bowl of pho until this day. There was so much meat. I couldn't stop eating it. The rice noodles weren't overdone or old. The broth was tasty, but not as clear as I would have liked. I ended leaving most of the broth because I was too full of beef and noodles. The iced tea was a little weak, but they brought me a refill. I've never gotten a refill without asking at any Vietnamese restaurant. There was an eclectic clientele. There were some Asians, a bunch of Latinos and a few white people, in the corner. The service was fine. The prices are about the same as other places. Very flavorful pho! Usually I eat noodles with soup but here, I recommend bun (Vermicelli special bun) which comes no soup. Omg, so good! It's cheap but lots of pork, shrimp and veggies! They have pho, chow mein, vermicelli and more dishes. The dishes are around $6-9 and come in a nice size bowl. It's not too much food or too little food, it's just right. The restaurant has napkins, chopsticks, hoison sauce, fish sauce and siracha sauce at every table. They take Visa card, not American Express, if your meal is over $15. If not, be sure to bring cash! Great little find! The service is great, and the prices are right. I would highly recommend arriving before the big lunch rush though. I never noticed this place until I came here with one of my friends from work. He had been here with his co-workers. Saigon Bistro is located on Carson off Western, and I think was once a Pizza Hut long ago. It's next to a pot dispensary so there's an armed guard in the back parking lot, so it's a safe place to go in the evening. LOL. The place was clean and spacious in the inside, still having the feel of a Pizza Hut from long ago. I decided on the pork Bun (vermicelli). Service was fast. The fresh julienne veggies in the bun were standard fresh and good. The egg roll was decent. Had better at other places. Overall Saigon Bistro was good when it comes to Vietnamese food. read more
