Food was very good. We had the eggrolls which were served with traditional dipping sauce. The beef steak pho was very good, meat was soft and tender. My son got the filet mignon Banh Mi sandwich. The meat was so Delicious and everyone loved this the most. There are signs everywhere that service is delayed due to low staff which I understand. But there was no check on water which everyone was out of for a while and we asked for a tray to top the pho and it never came. The focus is on to go orders and new people coming in. Don't get overwhelmed with the menu. They have so much choices on their menu that you really can't go wrong with. From the traditional Pho' to fried oysters they have it. My fave must have when I'm there is the lemongrass fried tofu. Must try! The service could be slow at times because they usually just have 2 people serving a full restaurant so be patient. The place is pretty small so the space isn't so big for extra large parties but we never seem to wait too long to get a table. Not a fancy place to eat but clean enough to be a regular there. It's the 90's. I'm a kid in San Jose, and the go-to place for Vietnamese families to get some traditional eats from Tung Kee Noodle. There's always customers eating, happily with their families, a warm casual setting, and a feel good vibe when you're done. Post COVID-19 era, in Tracy, CA, you would think this type of experience could not be found, but you'd be wrong. Saigon is just the place you need. This restaurant is family run, and they recognize their regulars. Regardless though, their service is top notch and they are very kind. Second-hand hires can be hit or miss, but if you get the core staff helping you, you are set. For example, I once forgot my wallet and couldn't pay, but they worked something out for me. Enough said. Prices are comparable to the area. Nothing to rave about there. The food is very good. Every Vietnamese restaurant and their Mom has a unique taste, ratio of spices, length of cooking, and otherwise that changes the taste of the Pho. I can't promise it'll hit the notes for you, but it definitely hits the notes for my family, and my critical mom also approves. Though it's not her favorite, she says it's good. When it comes to fresh ingredients, this is critical for any Vietnamese Restaurant. Known to have plates of garnishes and fresh herbs for almost whatever you order, the complement to your dish can easily be ruined by any expired produce. This has never been the case here. My partner and I recently moved from the Bay Area. Pho is a staple in our routine and we were afraid we may not find a place nearby that we love. Well, we were wrong. We've tried other places around the area and they just didn't compare to here. The broth everywhere else in Tracy is just SO bland. The broth here at Saigon though? Extremely tasty. I will say the Phở Gà and Bún bò Huế are not the best, but order their beef broth pho bowls and you'll be soooo satisfied. I also see other reviews complaining about not refilling water but I'm sorry, that's kind of the norm at most pho restaurants. We're used to not getting amazing service when we get pho BUT everyone here at Saigon is always SO friendly whether it's in person or over the phone! I love this because I have so much social anxiety. Here are some of the other dishes we've found to be very yummy: Vermicelli plates and bowls Lemongrass tofu Eggplant and tofu Literally any of their iced coffees!!! The regular Cà Phê Sữa Đá, the egg and coconut ones... my faves are the pandan and ube! I just wish they were open earlier so I could start my day with it, but they must be taking the time to make their amazing broth. If you're thinking of a pho place to eat at, skip the other ones in this city. Seriously. Save yourself the time and disappointment and eat at Saigon! I can't recommend this place enough. read more

The best thing about this place is all the vegan options they have. But no matter what I always end up getting the vegan pho. It's so good and always good portion size. It's a little further than the other pho options we have, but worth the drive. I also appreciate all the drink options they have too! We have haven't eaten inside, but always do take out. This place has gone from bad, to good, and now not so good. Just a few months ago, I would say they were good. But there has been a few negative changes lately. The price of Pho has gone up again, now $15.50. Working in San Jose, this is the most expensive Pho I have seen. We also noticed that the amount or volume of serving is now less. Also a small bowl of white rice is now $3.00. As far as service, when we pointed out that they charged us more than the listed price on the menu, the Asian lady at the register said that was because we didn't order much. She didn't even bother to look and correct the charges. I guess she didn't realize that the lost tip was more than what they overcharged. There are other Vietnamese restaurants in Tracy. One just in front of GameStop, another next to Popeyes on Grantline, another next to Walgreens on 11th, and another next to the old Big Lots also on Grantline. This place really hit the spot after a long day on the road coming back from skiing. These grilled pork spring rolls were pretty *chef's kiss*. I haven't had spring rolls with pork in them before, I've only had them with shrimp, and I think these are so much better. Granted I'm a little biased because I'm not huge on seafood so pork is a more pleasant protein for me. For the main dish I got the beef brisket and rare steak and man I was pretty impressed by the meat in the pho. The brisket had a nice amount of fat in the pieces which made it taste good. I like my meat thinly sliced which is what this place did so that's why I was a fan. If you like your meat in thick chunks then you might be dissatisfied. Food tasted good but the portions were obviously smaller than before comparing to my last visit. I understand that to keep the same quality, the price needs to be adjusted. But it is kind of cheating when you raised the price and reduced the portion. The Pad Thai I got tonight was like half portion comparing to the last time. The last thing was the FLIES. While traveling, craved some pho on the long drive. Called in to order veggie pho at Saigon Vietnamese. Was ready to pick up once I arrived. I learned to find out that the veggie ingredients were in separate containers, which wasn't a bowl. So it was interesting trying to eat pho on the go. I liked the variety of veggies. My family and I have frequented this restaurant countless times since moving nearby. Their standard Vietnamese fare is typically average to above average. Prior to COVID, it was very packed, but once Covid hit, this business had to adjust. It decreased the amount of indoor tables and created outdoor dining spaces. This led to an improvement in customer service. Important to note that this is a restaurant that "tries to do it all". On their expansive menu, you will find Korean and Chinese items in addition to the Vietnamese specialties. Their non-pho Vietnamese items such as Bun Bo Hue, Bo Kho, or Bun Reiu, I typically pass on, because there's just such better quality in the Bay Area so I'd rather hold out. But pho cravings are different. Sometimes you just need to hit them, and Saigon definitely has the best pho broth in Tracy, especially if you remember to put the lime and jalapeños in. The meat is high quality (not tendon-y/gristle-y) and in good portions. P.S. parent tip: They also have kid utensils and bowls/plates. read more

Stumbled upon this place looking for a Panda Express so my mom can have a little dinner on the way back to the South Bay. I saw this place and knew my mom would prefer vietnamese food. The staff is super nice! They're so busy too. We got there near closing, and there were still a bunch of people calling in orders, picking up orders, and dining in. We ordered to-go and waited about 15 minutes. We ordered the seafood crispy noodle, lemongrass tofu, and a thai iced-tea. Food was delicious and the drink was just perfect for the drive home. The added Pandan offers a sweet and creamy texture to the coffee. The Pho broth was rich and flavorful and it has a good amount of meat in it. The servers were fast and efficient as well as friendly. BEST PHO IN THE AREA! Hands down! I came here today and let me tell you! This joint is packing full of flavor. The menu is long with full of options but regardless each thing we order was 9.5 of 10. From pho, Thai, egg rolls, summer rolls, potstickers. Next time I will order other items as I was a very customer today. Rest assure this location is full of clients, which means the server or kitchen staff are running 24/7! I waited 5 minutes to get seated down, but I understood because they were busy. This is my new favorite place to come and will be coming back. The ambiance was amazing and our server was amazing as well. Dinner with cousin, restaurant located in a strip mall across from Home Depot. Not much for great restaurants in Tracy, but this place is not bad. Due to covid, everything has a different vibe. Lol this is a Vietnamese restaurant but nothing we ordered was Vietnamese. I saw the curry chicken cutlet on a picture on the wall, that was a no brainer for me. Next time I will opt for the medium hot instead of staying safe and ordering mild. I do wish restaurants stop using that nasty breast meat chicken simply because it's convenient to purchase and use, the only thing breast meat chicken is good for is dog food and my pups even turn their noses up on it. We also had the calamari appetizer, eh, okay but nothing to write home about. We also tried the tofu soup with shrimp, I know, I'm not terribly fond of shrimp but my cousin is a fan, so shrimp it is. The tofu soup just reminded me of kimchi soup with tofu. Kimchi is not high on my list of food, even though it's really supposed to be healthy, I still contend that if you bury something, it's not meant to be dug up again, lol.
