A friend had suggested we try this place for their all you can eat sushi. The place was very spacious and clean when we first got there, and we were seated right away. It's like other AYCE places where you mark off what rolls and appetizers you want. For dinner it was $20.99 I believe, which I didn't think was bad at all for the choices you could choose from. Overall the food was great! Good quality sushi & nigiri. Only giving 4 stars though because we weren't very impressed with our server. She wasn't very engaging, she would just come up to our table to take our papers with our orders, never really came by without us having to call her over if we needed anything, & when we did have questions, we could barely hear her. The restaurant is huge but most tables were empty. The restaurant does offer $5 for Yelp! reviews, which seems odd. Wait staff were slow and inattentive and completely flummoxed when we tried to order from the à la carte menu, instead of the AYCE one... took two different servers to figure out how to take the order. After being served it was near impossible to get the attention of any staff... waited 20 minutes for someone to notice we wanted the bill. This impossibly slow service was with two servers in front of house and only three tables occupied by customers, which was really crazy. Not sure how it stacks up against other AYCE places nearby, as my favorite places (Saké and Sushi Ya) are a la carte only but, for my money, I'd much rather go to on of those two choices for high quality, delicious sushi with good attentive service. read more

I wanted to love this place because the staff was so friendly and attentive, but the food and atmosphere was not up to par. I came in on a Wednesday afternoon for the 14.99 AYCE lunch with 6 other people. It was freezing as soon as I walked in. I know that it's winter and it's cold outside, but it wouldn't hurt to turn up the heat a bit to make the customers feel cozy. The washroom was even colder and the water from the faucet was freezing. We ordered miso soup and bulgogi for appetizers. Both were okay. The sushi rolls we ordered were pretty basic. They didn't have that many specialty rolls to choose from. The salmon nigiri did not taste fresh, almost had a refrigerator taste to it. As I was eating I was constantly swatting away fruit flies, which is absolutely disgusting. I looked around and saw another customer doing the same thing. When the check came the waitress happily split it between me and my friends. She was very sweet, but overall I will not be returning. Basically you get what you pay for. It may be the cheapest lunch AYCE in the area, but spending a few more bucks for better quality sushi and atmosphere is definitely worth it. read more

Ok- I'll start off by saying - this is my third time here... but, the first two times it was with one or two other people. Tonight, it's my birthday dinner and my in-laws decided on this place after hearing good word of mouth. Let me say ahead of time, I was very impressed with this place the first two times and easily would have given it 5 stars. We had a reservation for 12 tonight, but they also took multiple reservations for about 3 other parties probably totaling about 50 people altogether. There isn't an empty seat in this place. As it turns out and as I sit here typing away, we have been here an hour and a half and still have yet to receive any of the hot appetizers that we ordered. Apparently they either lost our order or gave it to another table. We were also told that since they have a very small hot kitchen area to accommodate so many guests, that we should just "try to understand". So a few things: 1. Hire more servers. And if you can't handle the mass number of people you're serving, then don't take the reservations! 2. Hire more bussers. 3. Get a better POS system and hire a chef or some sort of person to stand at the pass to make sure orders are going out properly. 4. KNOW how many tickets are coming in at a time and how much food should be going out in a timely manner. It doesn't take a genius to tell you that your organization is horrible and I guarantee most people are not getting the food that they ordered. We ordered a lot of food and didn't get much of what we ordered. There's only two reasons why I'm giving this place two stars. One, I have no doubt in my mind that lunch hours are better and the experience is pleasant. Two, the food is tasty. But after tonight's horrendous kitchen debacle and lack of customer service at our table with the hour lag time between salads/miso soup and our next appetizers, I'm really disappointed in this place. As did most of our drinks. 20 min: sushi came out. One drink still missing. 30 min: last drink finally came out - 20 minutes after the first drinks and soup, 10 minutes after my sushi meal 40 min: Edamame appetizer came out - 30 minutes after the soup. 20 minutes after the sushi 50 min: chicken teriyaki come out. 30 minutes after the sushi. THIRTY MINUTES. And the chicken is not hot, tempura is cold. Frankly didn't even try the salad. We complained. TWICE. They didn't offer to remake it - their best effort was to give us a 20% discount on just the chicken and the edamame. They looked perturbed we brought this to their attention. We have never just asked for a check and left a meal untouched before.... RUINED OUR NIGHT OUT. We left a good tip for our poor server, but we will never go there again - they were busy and looked like they could not have cared less. read more

All you can eat will set you back $20.99 for dinner (I believe it is $14.99 for lunch). There is a wide selection of Appetizers, Maki Rolls, Nigiri, and Sashimi to choose from. The food was delicious and the sushi was fresh. Everything was made to order - nothing was pre-made. All they ask is that you eat what you order. Service was attentive as well. This place has lowered significantly in quality. I remember coming here when it first opened and the last time I went, the quality of the sushi was pretty low, I didn't think it would get any worst. I came here since I just wanted to go someplace close by and the menu system has changed. You pay a regular fee for all you can eat rolls and if you want nigiri sushi you need to pay a premium ayce fee. The worst thing is that the nigiri had thinner slices of fish and the rolls had a significant amount of rice. The service wasn't that good either, kitchen orders took a significant amount of time. We decided to have our new year's eve dinner at Sakura and it did not disappoint. Husband, daughter and son went for their buffet though this is not your typical 'laid out' style buffet. They had you fill out on a piece of paper what kind of sushi you want, among others (appetizers, nigiri, sashimi etc.). our waitress was kind to point out to us that ordering buffet than ordering shrimp tempura a la carte is cheaper, was helpful. I had the Una don which is grilled eel on a bed of rice...it was more than enough for me and it had ginger, wasabi and other vegetable shavings on the sides. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and everybody was attentive to our needs (refilling water without us asking for it). They also offer lunch buffet which no doubt, we will be trying one of these days. We were standing there for a good 10 minutes while the servers were just looking in our direction and ignoring us, until a lady came to ask how much was in our party. But we gave them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they were understaffed so we waited for another 10mins. At this point my parents wanted to just leave and go to a different restaurant. A lady sat us down in our booth and gave us a pencil and a couple of papers to fill up with our orders and just left, so we filled it up and waited for our server. A guy passing by asked if we were done filling up the paper and took it to the people making the sushi. Not knowing who our server was I had to flag a waitress just to get something to drink, she however pointed to the guy that took our paper, who eventually came over with an annoyed look maybe thinking we were going to make an unnecessary request. But when I asked if we could order some drinks, he was like "oh". Obviously forgetting a very essential task waitering. When we were all done with our meal, we asked for our bill, the same guy just came over with it and just dropped it off on our table without a word, no courtesy or anything. The sushi was pretty good but what bothered me was that the servers wouldn't stop staring at us while we ate and what I assume was gossiping about us (not sure couldn't understand) even after we looked at them and made it clear we knew they were staring (mind you they were only about 10 ft away!). The all you can eat special is a good deal. If you're ordering 2 rolls and a miso soup, skip the AYCE. We were seated right away, which was normal. They're really on top of that. I ordered Sake Don and miso soup. My sister ordered two rolls and a miso soup. The miso soup came out quickly and then our food. The food was perfectly okay. It's the service I want to review. When our miso soup came out, the waitress delivered it and left. I looked at the table and realized we didn't have any napkins or anything so I stopped her and asked for napkins. She brought them. Then she brought only my food and walked away. I had no chopsticks. I had to stop her again and ask for those. I waited for my sister to get her food a few minutes later (why they don't bring them out at the same time is beyond me) and I realized at that time we didn't have any soy sauce on our table or the little dishes to put the soy sauce in. I could not get the waitress' attention so I went up to the front and got the dishes myself. She never once came back to ask how our meal was and didn't clear any of our dishes until after we paid and were getting up to leave. I have never experienced anything like that. Oh, I should also mention, we were brought a salad that we didn't order and I saw other servers bringing food to tables that they didn't order as well. The whole operation seemed disorganized and the servers were visibly confused. Lastly, my Sake Don (which was very tasty and the fish was fresh) was served in a bowl that was so large it was difficult to eat out of. I took a pic of it next to my hand. It's HUGE! I tried on several occasions to enjoy myself here. I used to come here all the time when it was under previous management. The first couple visits under new management were ok, rolls were typical but not extraordinary. I only go in a group of 2-3 people and always tell them we're on a lunch hour. We don't expect any special treatment but think it's important to set the right expectation. The last time we visited I waited over 45 minutes for simple rolls and politely interjected with waitstaff on my order. Most of the time the waitstaff was in a couple socializing and not paying any attention. I inquired on my order THREE times before they took us seriously. The sushi is the basic all you can eat quality. Nothing to write home about, but not bad either. The 18% "service charge" they now charge is absolutely ridiculous. "Difficult" times "forces" them to add this mandatory fee to your bill. I guess their food is not good enough to raise the price by 18% so they rip you off with this "fee" to help them make payroll.
