Terrible. Not only were items missing, but it looked like the whole order had been drop kicked. They had put the sushi rolls in three huge styrofoam containers with nothing holding the sushi in place. I've never received sushi packed that poorly for delivery. I love Sakura Sushi. The food has always been fresh and when ever I pick up (I order for lunch sometimes from work) my food has always been ready. I do not like their take on Kung Pao, however, it is not hot or spicy at all and the flavor is off. It tastes more like a regulate stir fry with the wrong vegetables. And spent the rest of the day dodging her calls. When she called from another phone number, they answered right away. They are not trying to rectify any situation or apologize for the awful service. I have eaten here before (about a year ago) and the service has gone downhill! We decided to go last night and enjoy some sushi because I had enjoyed it the last time. We walked in and the woman who seated us didn't even really greet us. Just grabbed menus and seated us. Then we sat there and watched two of the female servers just ignore the patrons and play on their phones and talk to each other. We had to flag them down after 10 minutes of them not coming over to take our drink order at all. Then I ordered some fried rice and asked for no onions. Didn't seem to be an issue except each bowl came back with onions in it and the male server acted like this was my fault and said "we're trying to work with you but we don't modify things." Okay? You could have said that 2 bowls ago? And the menu said substitutions - not modifications. Two totally different things. I'm asking you to just take onions out not add in other things. I mean I ended up having to pay $0.50 to put cream cheese into my roll for the AYCE (which I've never had to pay for at any other restaurant I've ever been in). On top of it, I had to pay an already included 18% gratuity? They deserved 0% as they were providing 0 service. The owner needs to have better eyes on their servers who are just out in the open not doing their jobs. And fighting over who is going to help a table. They don't work for their tips because they don't have to because we are forced to pay it. We asked to speak with a manager and the woman said they didn't have one there. Ridiculous. I came here about 2 years ago and had a good time so when my husband and I were in the area, we decided to try it again. We walked in today around 8:00. We were told that "last call" would be at 8:30 and if this was okay with us. We confirmed with the waitress that at closed at 9 still and she said yes, last call was referring to AYCE only. The waitress was unknowledgeable and unapologetic of the low availability of the different fish we tried to order. While it wasn't much money, when we decided to leave and asked for our bill (2 sodas pictured), they did charge us. I know a lot of customer service oriented people would be disappointed in this. I was pretty disappointed that no apology was offered and that they did charge us for drinks we took maybe 3 sips from. Please, do yourself a HUGE favor and go a little further down Golf Rd. and go to Daruma. Their level of service and knowledge is far superior. 6/26/22 I ordered from Sakura Sushi on Doordash. I ordered a Godzilla roll and a Kiss of Fire roll. As I am 5 months pregnant, I can only eat cooked food due to the risk of listeria, parasites, etc. I ordered these rolls specifically because they were both indicated to be cooked on Doordash AS WELL as the company website. When I received the food, the Godzilla roll was indeed cooked, as I am eating a few pieces of the Kiss of Fire roll I notice that it has RAW fish on top of it, really hard to see under all the sauce. I called the restaurant immediately to inquire if this is a cooked roll or if what I am seeing is indeed raw fish. After talking to the "chef", the receptionist returned and said that the bottom half of the roll is cooked and the top is indeed raw fish and that is why it says "cooked roll" on the menu. I can only HOPE that my baby and I will be ok, I am literally terrified. Restaurant review So right after coming back from Vegas and the buffet extravaganza; I decided to take my family out to dinner before returning home. I was excited to have an opportunity to visit a AYCE sushi restaurant that is not named Sushi Para which is quite a distance away. Since we had just gotten off a plane and I needed to drive 2.5 hours to get home, I ordered for our party of four. I'll get to the food per below, but after ordering all of the food and having it delivered to the table. The female waitress/?owner came over and said sternly you know you have to pay for any left over food. YES I know this as you have written this in a not so tacky way throughout your menu and also on your website. I am well aware that I have to pay a la carte price if I have any left over food. YOUR intent was not to inform, but rather to mention this out of spite as you decided to do this after ALL of the food had arrived on the table. How would you feel if you went to a dinner and was asked after you got your plate of food, do you think you took too much... This is super poor form and when I am going out to eat the last thing I want to experience while eating. FURTHERMORE we ate every last piece period so there was no argument at all. Now on to the food... Food review - Vegetable tempura- lightly battered, fried. Comparable to other japanese tempura - Chicken teriyaki- way overcook lathered in sauce - Crab puff- like a crab ragoon, not bad a little sweet tasting - Gyoza- thin skin, not bad - Bulgogi- poorly done, watery, and overcook - Calamari- not a typical American calamari as it contains the tentacles as well - Nigiri- salmon (good fat marbling), tuna (nice and fresh), red snapper (fresh/crisp), spicy tuna (good blend of flavors) - Salmon sashimi- unclear why the color of this salmon is not the same as the nigiri. Darker in color, not as well in terms of fat marbling. You get 3 pieces for every roll you order. This just did not taste as good as the normal salmon you get with your rolls - Galbi- a lot better than the bulgogi, limit 1 per roll - Soft shell tempura roll- this would be great if they didn't put all this sauce over the roll - Rainbow roll- okay, not too special - Spicy salmon roll- fair amount of salmon with a spot of spice on top - Salmon roll- not too much rice which is always good with your rolls Overall the food is above average for AYCE, but again I have never been so embarrassed and angry which should not be words I use to describe a dining experience. The service however is a little lacking. The owners and servers were very nice though. We appreciate the fact that they came by to check on us a few times when they realized we were not attended. We ordered several appetizers, nigiri, rolls. The price of $14.99 for lunch AYCE buffet is so far the lowest one you can find in Chicagoland. The nigiri is above average. The rolls are only average. I came here to meet my boyfriends parents for lunch and they found this place in a local newspaper ad. Their lunch special is only $14.99 all you can eat (Yes, ALL YOU CAN EAT) and I wasn't disappointed by anything I had. From the appetizer section, I had the edamame, fried rice, shumai, and miso soup. These dishes came first and they were an excellent mix of dishes to try prior to all the sushi. Next was the assortment of nigiri (raw sushi over rice). We ordered salmon, white tuna, egg, eel and tofu skin. Generally if you are at a all you can eat place, they either limit the number of nigiri you can have or they have a very uneven fish to rice proportion, but not this place! For the specialty rolls, we ordered the Godzilla, pink Godzilla, and two others I frankly can't remember the names of (but you can look at the picture attached). Every roll tasted like something you would order $15 per roll for, but we had it all for $15. Since this was our first time at this restaurant and it is quite new, we were able to taste some of their dinner menu items. We tried their kalbi and OH BOY do I want to come back and try! Here is my review of this restaurant which I posted on the old Minani listing on yelp: After reading reviews, my wife and I decided to stop in for lunch. We visited the SCHAUMBURG store. The decor was pretty nice, and the wait staff was very friendly. My wife ordered the Tonkatsu Bento Box which was ok. Fried rice was a bit sweet. I had the All You Can Eat Sushi. I usually have a rule against eating All You Can Eat stuff, and after this experience, I probably should not have tried it. I usually order Nigiri, because all those fancy rolls can easily be masked with sauces, cream cheese and other crunchy toppings. Nigiri in my opinion, next to sashimi, is a good way to tell if the sushi chef is actually good or not. My nigiri was pretty bad. The fish was not cut properly, and had rough and jagged edges like it had been sawed off. The coloration of the fish was dark on one end and faded to a normal color on some fishes which meant it wasn't fresh. The mackerel was also very fishy and on one of the mackerel our of four, I got an end-piece that was all skin. I have taken photos and will figure out how to post them. Anyways, I won't be coming back here as there are other places that are much better and fresher. read more

I heard about this all you can eat sushi from a friend and had to check it out. I thought that the quality of the sashimi was better than most all you can eat places but my spicy tuna did not taste okay. I actually had to send it back. I went there during lunch and it was only $14.99. Plus I signed up for Groupon's cash back deal which gives you 20% back for a month directly to your credit card. So all in all it was a very inexpensive meal but didn't think that the quality of the fish was great. There are other appetizers on the menu that was enjoyable for all you can eat. Lunch menu is smaller than the dinner menu. Next time I go, I think I would focus on the sashimi and appetizers and skip out on the maki rolls. I found this Japanese restaurant by accident online today and I was specifically craving sushi so I hopped in my uber and arrived during the beginning of their dinner hour. I didn't realize they focus and specialise in all you can eat sushi but once I noticed the fair pricing I thought I'd definitely take advantage of that option. First of all you need to be open minded when you get here. There weren't clear instructions on the menu about their "rules" so I'll inform you of these minor issues here in this review. There are appetizers, nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, miso soup, tempura and udon soup here to choose from. You are definitely not allowed to consume all you can eat sashimi though. You may select two sashimi choices per maki roll you order. I didn't know this going in nor is it clearly delineated on the menu. Now that you know this choose wisely. I enjoyed the octopus and squid sashimi the most and even though the plates themselves weren't super fancy, the presentation was impressive because they place shredded carrots, parsley, lemon mint sprigs and edible flowers around your sashimi. I also loved the spicy tuna and spicy salmon sushi maki rolls. The rolls were tiny enough so that I wasn't too full and I had enough of an appetite to try seaweed salad here and tempura vegetables which were cooked very nicely. I also tried a couple pieces of nigiri and that's pretty much all I had room for in my belly! I strongly advise anyone here to order only a couple of items at a time because you are expected to finish everything you order so you aren't penalized. The lunch prices are lower during their lunch hour and costs only $14. Dinner prices are nominally slightly higher at $20 per person. The only thing that I found odd was the fact that I wasn't offered water often enough even though this restaurant was pretty empty. I had to continuously ask for water refills from my server and green tea was not offered to me like in most Japanese restaurants. I also wish to add this restaurant is very low key and simple. There are grades of sushi and the quality here is GOOD but not EXCELLENT. I was very satisfied with everything I ordered. There was only one piece of sashimi that I ate that appeared to be too chewy and that was the tuna sashimi. If you come here knowing that this restaurant is simple and casual and you understand the sashimi rules then I think you'll really enjoy your meal here especially because the prices are so fair. They gave us our appetizer and one set of rolls, but We noticed two tables get their full orders before us. After waiting 40min later, we receive the order and our appetites are already ruined-the mood changed. The food was just okay. The sushi preparation was not as refined as most places. Just okay. The ambiance was clean, not spotless. Just typical, as if you were to eat at a Chipotle. We noticed nails above the ceiling, the sharp ends pointed down. Something out of a final destination movie. Lol. The service was socially awkward. We addressed our needs, but they were so in tune with everything else. They were easily distracted, seemed disorganized. They were younger servers and we wanted to give the benefit of the doubt, but if you are running a business- you need better leadership. We did notice that there were a lot of Uber Eats and Door Dash orders being picked up. It seemed like they were the priority over the customers within the restaurant. Shame. We went here for the all-you-can-eat sushi for Sunday night. There were quite a few people but there was also a lot of staff to accommodate the amount of customers. We were able to get our food in great time. The staff was friendly. We only got sushi rolls (no maki or nigiri or anything). I also got miso soup and it was good standard miso soup. We tried a bunch of the rolls and they were all good. The spicy ones didn't disappoint on the spicy. I like the variety they had. The Mexican roll was very spicy but good. I love California crunch because it is lightly fried. That one was very filling. My husband and I got a LOT of sushi and definitely took a good advantage of the all-you-can-eat part by getting 10 rolls between the two of us. For our daughter we just got a plain California roll, paying standard price, and that was penlight food for her (she's almost for). My friend and I went into the restaurant thinking we were getting all you can eat, and the lady told us she would be charging us extra for everything we didn't finish. Tuna was a bit extra fishy last couple times and just overall not that flavorful like usually expect the spicy mixture to have.
