If you're going during peak eating hours it's safer to make reservations. They have 2 private rooms for large parties or events. Staff and owners are friendly, helpful and polite. Good size menu with variety of options, pricing is on higher end, especially the appetizers, but it's not outrageous. We only had 3 items. Both our entrees were good but I'm a steak snob and although I liked my food, it didn't rock my world. The dessert was my favorite part, large selection of choices which all sounded yummy, we chose the flan and were not disappointed. Great texture and taste. How fun! This place is fantastic! It's located in the heart of City Centre--perfect for our date night. It was bustling when we arrived, but were promptly seated. Our servers were sweet and attentive. We told them it was our 1st time there so they gladly recommended dishes. Wow! We loved every single one! Houston Restaurant Weeks brought me to dinner here recently for the first time. My group of four had reservations and parked in the free garage across the street and were promptly seated upon arrival. This was a four course meal using the HRW menu and I chose to start with the Caprese salad and then a regular house salad for the second. The main dish was going with the wagyu ossobucho and then the waiter recommended the chaja to finish. First to arrive was the complimentary chips and olive oil for the table. Very soon after, my Caprese salad arrived with one steak tomato slice and fresh mozzarella on top with garnishments of olives, lemon juice and olive oil. It was cool and tasty even though it was a small serving (3.5). The house salad followed soon after and was a mix of greens with cilantro dressing and some tomato slices added. I thought this salad was plain tasting and wished I had ordered the soup (3). It was at least 20 more minutes before the third course arrived. The ossobucho is advertised as being cooked for three hours in a Malbec and tomato reduction sauce and served on a bed of polenta. After having been a little underwhelmed with the first two courses this course was delicious. At my first bite, I thought "how favorful" this meat is! With the polenta this dish hit the mark (4). Finally the chaja appeared to end the meal. This frozen dessert had peaches in it and was very good tasting (4). Kind of like eating a version of peach ice cream. It had pieces of hard sugar crumbled on top that added to its sweetness and I'm glad I ordered it. Our table service during the meal was prompt and professional. Overall I enjoyed my meal and our group contributed funds to the Houston Food Bank to purchase 72 meals with so the evening was a success. read more

Came here to try their HRW menu and I was very impressed! First of all the service was top notched and the ambiance was very romantic. The ceviche was so fresh and delicious! Then i had lobster bisque for second course and lobster ravioli for the entree (what can I say? I love lobster). Both were perfectly seasoned and the portions were just right. First course: the ceviche was fresh, meaty, acidic, and flavorful. Everything went well together and pairing the chips that come with the table with the fish was so good. Must try. House salad: the dressing was great with cilantro flavors but nothing else was really special about the salad. Would recommend getting the soup which was a corn soup this day. Picanha: the steak was so tender and cooked perfectly. The chimichurri sauce on top pair so nicely and cut through the meatiness. The potatoes were also cooked so nicely and seasoned not too salty. I'm in love! The service was phenomenal. They give you the feel of a family owned restaurant, not sure if it is or not. I went for the hh and the bartender poured me a wine based on my persona taste profile. I'm not sure if it was the hh wine and I didn't ask because it was the hh price. My guy had the caprinia and the only other time I tasted that type of drink was at Fogo de chao, but this one was way better! No premade mix. I almost traded my wine, but it was equally as good. We only had a couple of appetizers, but they both hit the spot. The crab claw's actually had a decent amount of meat on them and the ceviche had the perfect amount of lime flavor. Came here on a Friday night for an early Father's Day dinner and my family had a good time. The plantain chips they served at the start were crispy, well salted, and warm. I got the Pappardelle del Tano which was okay. I'd say it was a little too salty and a bit small on the portion size but by the time I got to my entree I wasn't too hungry anyway. Got to try the flan and the cuatro leches and normally I'd go with the leches the whole way but the flan was actually really good and may have stolen my normal vote for the cake. I have passed by this place in City Center so many times and I finally decided to try it. I'm glad I made a reservation, as it was PACKED for a week night. The restaurant and patio were both elegantly lit. This is more of a date night or work dinner spot- not too kid friendly. The wait staff were friendly, but nothing over the top. We ordered the ceviche to start, and it had the perfect amount of citrus to it. The seafood was fresh, the avocado was a nice touch, and it was beautifully plated. I ate the ceviche with the plantain and chips and it was the perfect combo. For my entree, I got the Puntas de Tenderloin. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was topped with with crab meat, beurre blanc sauce & shrimp. The crab meat was served cold, but it didn't seem to marry well with the other items on the plate since everything else was hot. Cute/semi-small Latin American spot in city center. I was coming for a buffet style brunch I was told they offered but was advised upon arrival that it had been suspended due to Covid. They advised it will return soon. We ended up doing a 3 course brunch instead in which I ordered: beef/chicken empanadas for my appetizer, grilled pork chops and eggs for my main course and creme brûlée for my dessert. I loved the empanadas and my pork chops! Very well cooked and the perfect temperature. The creme brûlée was more caramel flavored so it wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad. They brought us these fresh made plantain style chips that were soooo addictive (should've asked for some to go lol) and I ordered a caipirinha for my drink which tasted like a really sweet house margarita. Recently went for lunch with my wife. The food was excellent as always. I ordered Lamb Lollichop. It was amazing. Very tender and tasty. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. The sauce really brought it all together though. It was lightly drizzled in this balsamic reduction and minty jelly sauce that really just kicked it up. As Elzar would say, "BAM!" My wife got a chicken dish from the lunch menu which I tried and was also good, but I hate to brag but I definitely "won" in terms of the better order. Ambiance is very nice and fits the overall vibe of Citycentre. It is a small-ish place. Open kitchen so you can see into it from your table. Kind of contemporary South American decor. My only real complaint was service was rather inattentive after awhile. We wanted to leave but no one would check on us or give us our check. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My boyfriend had the picahna which he said was a bit underseasoned and underwhelming. He enjoyed the rice and beans on his plate, and the meat was cooked well. Fourth course - 4/5. Tried the 4 leches and the chocolate ganache cake. Both were very good, but nothing to write home about. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. Our waiter was amazing but the person at the door did not seem to be happy and ignored me when I thanked him on the way out. Had 2 tenderloins the crème brûlée and the chocolate cake for dessert. Food was bland and lacked flavor. Gave me the impression of cheap food plated to look fancy. The cut of meat was nice and tender but was salty. The crab meat felt like it came out of a can as it was cold and just crumbly (little bits). We filled up on water since after $120 roughly we were still hungry. I highly recommend the ceviche and empanada (beef was better in my opinion) for appetizers. The cow toungue that Inhad tried before was very good as well. For main courses, I always order the Parilla just because of the different cuts of meat you get with the humongous plate! The temperature can be a hit or miss at times, but we had them mostly at Medium Rare as we had ordered at the most recent visit! My mom sang praises for the Salt-baked fish - she absolutely loved how tender the fish was! We also had the pappardelle, which was too salty for our taste and not too much to write home about. Came here on a weekday. The complementary snack basket with a side of chimichurrie dipping sauce kept us busy while waiting for the server to come back. French fries were amazing if it had first came out temperature hot and crispy. We had to wait for fresh ones, which ended up coming after we finished dinner. Maybe kitchen was short staffed, but I found it surprising how long it took for our food to come out when the restaurant was half filled with patrons. To end, I'm not saying that the food was bad nor service was bad, I'm just saying that we weren't impressed to the point where we're like, "I can't wait to go back." These guys knocked it out of the park in terms of food quality, delivery, attention to detail, you name it. So I finally find the coupon and it literally says VALID 7 DAYS A WEEK. I show him that and he looks kinda pissed and goes and shoes someone and comes back. The best thing this night was the free basket of plátanos and sauce that they give out. The milanesa was under seasoned and tough. The potatoes were slightly raw.
