Good salad, this place is good for something refreshing. The staff can be slow sometimes. There is a lot of seating which is nice. Every recent time I have gotten the tea/lemonades which have creative flavors....it comes out watery... I might as well have gotten water. I've gone here multiple times and for whatever reason the staff has issues with my order. They mutter words under their breath in Spanish when I ask for scoops of topping on my $20 Salad. If I ask for eggs on my salad they act like they are laying the eggs themselves. If I did that at my job I'd be fired. It's literally just scooping toppings on top of some lettuce. What I love about salata is that it's versatile. You can get unlimited toppings all for one price! To make it even better you they also have a rewards app which allows you to scan your app for free points which will lead to credit! The problem with a lot of them is that the portions are small. Other issues include bad service or ingredients not being fresh. Some locations are amazing, this one not so much. It's just not a very good location of this chain. They gave a much smaller salad than we're used to, and it was much more wilted and less fresh than we get from West Gray or Weslayan or Energy Corridor locations. We live close to it and yet we've only been here once when we've been to other locations 30 40 50 times. That speaks volumes. It's still a better salad than most, hence the okay rating, but there are plenty of 4 and 5 star locations of Salata around. Their croissant is amazing too, not healthy but omg, that whole wheat croissant is worth the price of admission alone, and you get one free with your salad. Oh, and the best dressing is the Lemon one, but a lot of people like Fresh Herb. Since they sell salads, perhaps they should be called "Sell-ata" instead? I'm not sure, but $8 for a leafy bowl of green goodness is a good deal, especially considering how large these salads are, with unlimited toppings and all the goodies. I usually love going to Salata, but going to this one was rough. From the start things did not go right. They could not follow the directions of the type of lettuce I wanted, the veggies, the fruit, and the dressing. I did not have a complicated order and I had to keep correcting them over and over. It wasn't just one person it was all four of the staff. I do not have an accent and I was very slow and clear of what I wanted. This was a headache. My usual Salata restaurant I go to does not have this problem. I don't know what needs to happen, but something needs to change. read more

Great for lunch. Didn't have any issues and I was pleased with the quality. My only complaint would be to have more quantity of the toppings added, and a fountain drink would be nice. I ordered thru LunchDrop for the medical center. When I received my order they highlighted my protein and wrote SUB and a sad emoji. I opened my salad and as always ---FRESH AND DELISH! They substituted my shrimp with another seafood choice and I was happy. It was yummy.. this is my only go to restaurant when I want to eat a light/fresh lunch. I never had issues with this location and to be honest...I drive right by the Salata restaurant in my neighborhood to get to this one. Pretty good salads. I found out about this place through a friend, and I've been going for a while now. I like how your able to customize you salad. And what's so great is that there's no limit on the number of toppings you can add. All the fruits and vegetables are fresh, the chicken is grilled, and the lettuce is juicy. I personally like the spicy chipotle ranch sauce and pesto chicken. I tend to go crazy adding sides, my favorite part. If you want a fully customizable salad with no limits, go to salata. I usually go to the salata on westheimer because I love the atmosphere. The employees are friendly. And the veggies are always fresh. I decided to try this location because it was closer to my house and let's just say... I know why I drive all the way to westheimer and I live in the medical center. The employees were not friendly. No one greeted me when I walked in. I felt like the portions were short. Every time I asked for something added to my salad I had to ask for more! And they seemed irritated when I asked for more!!! Salata is as great place to go to when you need a fast meal but a healthy lifestyle. The food and service was great until one lady let a couple cut in front of me because I wanted to try a sample of the sauce, which is very important to my meal. It was also my first time here and my coworkers introduced this place to me. It was a hassle putting me behind two people just because I only tried two samples of sauce. My three coworkers turned and saw where I was put. Also the cashier didn't know which one was my bowl because my one of my coworkers was treating everybody. I USE to love this place when they first opened. I work next door and remember it being built. I get the same things, same portions and sit in the same seat when I'm there. Salata use to be generous with their portions, but year after year they've raised prices while decreasing portions. You basically have to beg for more to the point where it's uncomfortable to ask. The language barrier has become a HUGE inconvenience because when your trying to explain something the staff looks at you like you're crazy and catch attitudes. Times are hard for us all --the lease you can do is give us two scoops of dressing without saying there will be extra charges. And if the rules change, let your customer know by posting it. Also, try greeting your customers when they walk in, that way the ambiance can switch to what it use to be...friendly. The ingredients are usually fresh here so I'll give it two stars. It's before 8:30pm and to my surprise the employee (who was very nice) had already cleaned up the tables outside. I asked him if I could sit outside and he said "sorry we close at 9pm". I've been to multiple Salata chains. This one is alright. The reviews about being stingy are sort of warranted. The staff definitely doesn't give you more than the salad you ordered (aka a smile, eye contact, or a sense of them wanting to be there or wanting you to be there lol). But what can you expect, they're a quick salad bar chain. I usually get a small salad and soup for $11. I think it's worth it because of the variety of ingredients available. Very clean place, nice service. The girl behind the counter wasn't aware of the E. coli warning about the Romain lettuce so I chose the mixed salad which she said didn't have Romain in it. I went to Salata after not eating all day bc my son was in surgery. I stopped right after leaving Texas Children's Hospital with my son. Craving a salad, I excitedly went in only to be completely let down not by the food but by the "manager" Helen. I put that in quotes bc if she was really the manager, I can not believe she would have done what she did to me. I went to pay with a coupon with no expiration dates listed; however, it did not list that particular location. So she refused to accept my coupon. I then asked if she would rather throw this salad away than honor my coupon? Her response was "yes", and of course, I did not receive any type of apology. I've heard the restaurant name Salata thrown out a lot for close lunch options and was so excited to try it out. I was very disappointed. I ordered the smaller lunch salad, which bowl size looked pretty decently sized. The staff member barely put a pinch of each ingredient in the salad, same for the lady in front of me who ordered the large and kept asking for "more please" which is where I got the idea to ask for more. Staff members did not look thrilled about adding more and only added a pinch more at that. I just feel with salads you can't skimp on ingredients especially if you are paying $7-8 for a salad (and that's without meat) add $3.00 if you want chicken. The ingredients looked fresh, and the balsamic dressing was good but I probably won't be back. They never close the tops right on the to go orders. I ordered 2 salads and when taking them out the bag since the tops weren't properly closed all the toppings spilled onto the floor .
