Came here to celebrate a birthday (with a rowdy group of kids in tow!), and while we always enjoy the ice cream, this visit really stood out because of the exceptional service. The employee who helped us, Luke, was fantastic. Several of us wanted to sample different flavors before deciding, and he was patient, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire process. He even took the time to recommend flavors for the kids to try (Cinnamon Snickerdoodle, which he said it tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch... and he was right)! His positive attitude, professionalism, and kindness made the experience so much more enjoyable. We left with great ice cream and an even better impression of the shop thanks to Luke. read more

First Salt & Straw experience, and it was a pretty good one. Some of the flavor profiles are really out there (uh, no thank you on candied porcinis), but the ones we got were really, really good. We just wish they weren't so stingy with portions! All three of us got the salted, malted cookie dough, and damnnnn it was delicious. Love a malted option! One of us also got birthday cake with blackberries, which was a unique spin and the other got the raspberry marzipan princess cake. That one was vegan, and impressively good with the pistachio-cashew base. Our daughter also had a scoop of vanilla she was happy with. I usually enjoy Salt & Straw, but the Hong Kong milk tea flavor was a miss for me. The tea flavor itself was decent, but it had white milk chocolate bits mixed in that didn't compliment the ice cream at all -- they're not even really chocolate, more like a milk chocolate dough texture. Salt & Straw isn't cheap, so I basically slurped around the white chocolate bits, and it really put a damper on the experience. Thankfully it's a limited edition flavor. On the bright side, the chocolate fudge we also got was good, and service was friendly. My advice: definitely try a sample before committing to a scoop -- I skipped that step and regretted it. When I visited today, I found an extensive selection of flavors from which I choose a scoop of Strawberry Pretzel salad (fantastic! Made with plenty of actual strawberries) and one of Raspberry Princess Cake (a yummy vegan ice cream flavored with a squirrel of sweetened pureed raspberries, pistachio flavor ice cream, and bits of cake--a bit sweeter than I like, but a good flavor combo). Came here again today! My fave ice cream shop. They have new limited edition flavors. One of them was the strawberry tres leches - CHEFS KISS! It paired perfectly with my favorite coffee and love nuts. I had one scoop of each in a large waffle cone. I also bought and brought home one pint of each. I haven't been a big fan of Salt & Straw elsewhere, but I'm glad we tried the one at One Paseo. This is a charming shop with very good service. I enjoyed two scoops ($9) for my ice cream cup from "The Berries Series" special: Strawberry Pretzel Salad (4/5), which could have used more pretzel, and Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero (5/5), which had a kick. Tried some delicious flavors for the first time this summer, including Cinnamon Snickerdoodle, Strawberry Black Pepper and Blackberry Birthday cake. The first two were decent, but not something I'd go back to. However, the blackberry birthday cake was a winner. I'm not usually a fan of birthday cake flavored desserts, but the ribbons of tart blackberry jam in this one paired oh so well with the thick chunks of birthday cake batter. My niece and sister kept telling me how much I needed to try Salt & straw. We had to run errands and this location was the closest one to us at the time. I have never been to this area and it was quite a cute place. We went there fairly late, so all the stores were already closed. I think we had about 10 minutes before closing. It was rich, yet creamy, it is something that sounds like it might not taste good, but it was so delicious. 5/5 2. Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons- I think this is the best seller. We were in the area, and this place had good reviews, and we had never heard of it, so we wanted to try it. It was definitely a good choice! When we walked in, there was a moderately long line, but it gave us time to look at the menu, which was full of unique flavors that we had never seen before, with many savory, exotic flavors. They do accept samples, which I asked for quite a few of since I wanted to try the flavors. I ended up getting an olive oil flavor and a lemon wild berry flavor, which were recommended by the girl serving us ice cream, who was very nice and answered all of our questions. This ice cream is probably some of the best I've ever had, and it was served in these unique waffle bowls that looked very cool. All of the ice cream flavors tasted really great. Just as we got our ice cream and paid, as we were walking out, there was a huge line, so this must have been a popular spot, but it's definitely well worth it. Usually love Salt & Straw and we're regulars who stop in often to try their latest flavors. This visit was a real letdown, though -- not because of the ice cream, but because of the customer service. After recently signing up for the rewards app, I was excited to redeem a free waffle cone for a limited-time Salted Caramel Brownie cone, along with my usual order of a "'ice cream flight" and an additional pint. The staff tried (twice) to apply the reward -- via QR code and by looking up my account with my telephone number-- but the system wouldn't take it. Instead of honoring it, I was simply told, "Sorry, it's not working," and was charged $1.65 for the cone anyway. It's not about the money; it's about the principle. This Salt and Straw is located right in the middle of the One Paseo shopping center which makes it a perfect place to grab dessert after dinner. I came after having dinner at one of the nearby restaurants and I had a coupon on the app for a free upgrade to a double scoop. I love that you can sample so many different flavors before making your decision. The guy helping me and my husband out let us try so many different flavors. He was also really helpful letting me get a double scoop by giving me two cups so I could separate them vs paying for two single scoops. We tried a bunch of their seasonal flavors but we always end up getting their classics. The seasonal flavors can be a little odd and sometimes I'm not a fan of how the flavors work out. We got the chocolate gooey brownie and the coffee and love nuts. I love the coffee ice cream as it's perfectly sweet with little bits of crunchy nuts mixed in. The brownie was good too with large pieces of brownie but I'll never get tired of the coffee. Salt and Straw is so great because they have ice cream options that are vegan and/ gluten free and they have all the information available so you can check for allergens. The sea salt caramel ice cream flavor here is excellent! Tasted a bunch of other flavors at this location but nothing else compared. So delicious! I love ice cream and after dinner my girl friends and I went to Salt and Straw across the street from Sky Deck. I have never been to this location and this little shopping center is so cute, I wish came a little earlier so I can shop around. To sample, I tried the melon and prosciutto, the sample I tried was very melon forward so I figured that was what I could expect. I ended up getting a single scoop of both melon and prosciutto and pear and blue cheese. Our ice cream expert was really nice, he let my friends and I try so many different flavors, did you know they have a parker house roll and salted buttercream flavor for November? Well now you do, that was also really tasty. My pear and blue cheese was absolutely delicious, so creamy and sweet from the pear and a little tart and savory from the blue cheese, then as I was eating the melon and prosciutto it was good UNTIL I tasted the swirl of prosciutto, nope. That part was absolutely horrific, so salty and the texture was weird tasted like a dog ice cream. To be fair I was warned. Overall stick to what you know and maybe ask for a second sample of an ice cream you're weary about. read more

Not a big fan of salt straw but I am a big fan of energy. Ryan has this in spades. I show up on national ice cream day no less and he made me feel every bit as important as a prom queen. He let us try every flavor, gave us his opinion and wasn't abrasive of it. He had good time and poked fun and was nice and supportive to my girlfriend. Before today I had no idea they had whipped cream, but he made me feel I like I deserved it. This location is such a huge disappointment! First (and last time!) we will be going back. We usually stop at the location in Downtown Disney and are always met with great customer service and ice cream packed in the cup for the price they charge. Well the customer service here was awful for the moment we came in and were served if we were lucky a half scoop each. Didn't even ask if we wanted sprinkles or any other toppings. Another fabulous time at Salt and Straw! Tried the Halloween flavors including the Creepy Crawly Critters which has mealworms and crickets in it (wild!) which was surprisingly good, but not enough to eat a whole scoop lol. I ended up getting a split scoop of the Great Candycopia and Jack o'Lantern Pumpkin Bread which went perfectly together. We always see Nicole there and she deserves a huge shout out--she is absolutely amazing. Super WEIRD flavors but they're super cool! I got this Strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper which is probably the weirdest flavor I've ever had but it was honestly pretty great! I also had their Olive Oil ice cream which was also super weird but GREAT. It was super firm and rich which I really liked. Definitely come here to try out the really unique flavors. Don't get the ones you would regularly see!! Workers were nice and helped us with all the samples we wanted to try. Also a really nice parlor and location in One Paseo.
