Pollack Roe, Scallion, Kimchi bacon spreads with Salt Bread
    Ted P.

Salt Bread Ko is really amazing! The store is located right around k-town and there's usually a line. They tend to sell out really quick within 10-15 mins of opening and make more batches every 30 minutes throughout the day. If you want to grab some on the weekend, make sure to get there early! I tried both the sweet and regular breads and ended up enjoying the regular ones with spreads a lot more as they were super savory. The bread was soft on top but had a nice flaky/buttery bottom with a nice salty kick to it! My favorite spreads of the three I tried was the Scallion followed by Pollock Roe. The Pandan and Strawberry were also great but I felt the sweetness overpowered the flavor of the salt bread just a bit. If you have an air fryer at home, these are perfect to warm at a low temp for a little before serving!

TL;DR: TOO salty, but maybe we got a bad batch Ended up coming by here and waiting for their next batch of salt bread to be done so we could order. You order at a kiosk inside, which they only had 2, and it gets crowded in there with people who are waiting for their order from the previous batch/waiting to order when it's done. The service was great though. They were so friendly and nice. I think they could benefit with crowd control inside. The space is VERY small, and people who got their order would just stand inside, making it difficult for more people to come in and order/people who are waiting for their order to come out. Additionally, I think they could package their breads a bit better. Separately rather than throwing them in the to-go bags. Overall, their salt breads come out nice and hot. FOOD: ~Original salt bread (2/5): I know the name says salt bread, but these were unbearably salty. The spreads I got were also on the salty side so it did not dampen the saltiness much. ~Black Osetra Caviar with Truffle Spread (3/5): I give this a higher rating because, while it is expensive, it comes with a GENEROUS amount of caviar. This was definitely better than the salt bread itself. ~Nutella salt bread (2.5/5): Still salty, but the sweetness from the nutella spread made it a little better. The spread itself was just okay. Overall, I wouldn't wait in a long line for this again.

Back to Salt Bread Ko after two months and saw they've got some changes since the opening. Instead of hourly drops, they now bake their salt bread fresh in small batches every 30 minutes. The prices also went up: from $10 to $12 for 2 Salt Bread plus a spread, and from $12 to $14 for 3 Salt Bread. I had to wait for a bit for their new batch, so mine was still warm every time I get it. I also just noticed they use Isigny Sainte-Mère butter (a premium french butter I actually use at home!) which makes the bread extra rich with a touch of mineral sea salt. *Uji Matcha Salt Bread $6.50 * I was genuinely blown away by this one. This is the least sweet flavor out of all their sweet salt bread I've tried, with a slight bitterness from the rich matcha whipped cream. They were generous with the filling too, as there was matcha cream throughout the entire bread! *Strawberry White Chocolate Ganache Salt Bread $6.50 The strawberry white chocolate ganache was light, fluffy, and reminded me of strawberry yogurt. It's less sweet than the strawberry lychee jam flavor I tried before, and the bottom stayed crispy. *OG Salt Bread ** Their salt bread is so plump! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, with the perfect butter hole and a crunchy bottom. Tbh I liked it even more on its own than with the spreads. But if you're getting spreads, I'd rank (1) truffle (2) chili crisp (3) pollack roe. 2 salt bread + 1 spread for $12, 3 Salt Bread for $14

Wow. I've heard so much about this place from the salt bread hype and never felt the urge to go. However, one day one of my friends who was visiting wanted to check it out and let me just say: I get the hype now. Fortunately when we went, they just came out with a new batch of salt bread so it was hot out of the oven. The bread was so fluffy and buttery on the inside but the bottom was very crispy. We also got their chili spread, their scallion spread, and their kimchi bacon spread. I would say to skip the kimchi bacon as most in our group didn't like it. However, the chili and scallion were big hits (maybe try even mixing them!). Great spot for a small bite in K-town and I will definitely be back.

You can imagine my excitement when another salt bread bakery opened up in NYC! Salt bread has blown up for a reason, and this spot is doing it right. Everything is baked fresh, with new batches coming out every hour. It's buttery, soft, and pillowy on the inside, with a crispy, golden bottom that makes all the difference. Think of it as a cross between a steamed bun and a croissant. They also offer a great selection of dips and spreads like truffle, garlic knot, and nori sesame oil. There was a long line when I went but luckily it moved pretty fast. I need to come back to try more, especially one of their sweet options.

Cute little store- gets busy very quickly! The salt bread is so buttery and delicious. The Chili crisp butter is fantastic with the bread. This might be my favorite snack!

We were waiting for our lunch reservation nearby and checked out Salt Bread Ko after seeing the line of people waiting for it to open shortly before noon. We grabbed a pack of 3 + spread to share and while I only had the og salt bread plain it was great warm and pretty buttery. I appreciated that there was a good amount of salt as well for flavor and overall a tasty snack. I didn't try the spread or the sweet/savory combos but they don't have everything available at each hour. Definitely come when a new batch drops for warm bread.

They have a batch of bread every hour I think? I happened to be walking by and there was a short line so I decided to wait. Once the hour hit, there are 2 kiosks to order. The line moves fast and I was able to get my bread quickly after I ordered. The inside is pretty simple with a small display and there is no space to sit. The bread is buttery and soft.

A new salt bread place opened recently. It's more of a takeout place. Very limited seating in the restaurant, and a bench outdoor. It has specific time drops (go to the website for the time drops so you can get the fresh out of the oven experience). They still write the time drop schedule on the door but it's easier to go to the website. Yay! I finally timed it with the next freshly baked drop was available. 10 minutes before the bread was baked/cooled down, the employees tells you to put your order in via the kiosks. There is an order limit of 3 breads per person. The savory/salted ones were ready quicker since it didn't need extra preparation. The sweet ones took a bit longer since the employee had to cut the bread open, wait for the bread to cool before piping the cream into the bread. It tasted better freshly baked so enjoy!

First time trying it... not sure about the hype since the next store that sells custard tarts also offers salt bread, but let's try this place since I think it is the first place in Koreatown to sell salt bread. I ordered the 2 salt bread + garlic knot spread, pandan coconut, and strawberry chocolate. I preferred the savory over the sweet. The bread itself was crispy on the bottom (so much oil) and soft on top, with a sprinkle of sea salt, which reminded me of a pretzel, just way softer. The wait wasn't too long on a Saturday at 1ish, once you ord

"Meh"... it's ok la. I think for anyone who hasn't visited Seoul and tasted their famous salt bread, then this would be OK. Bc in lieu of airfare, you're getting an introduction. I was surprised there's a line around lunch time, since this is more like a breakfast or snack. The line was short, waited about 5-10 mins, before ordering through the kiosk. ( congestion is from the kiosk ordering). Service is that you get a packaged good. Small shop. More than 6 ppl will be uncomfortable. Grabbed their original salt bread, nothing fancy, no spread (bc if it's truly the amazing version with the fluffy butter center, you won't need it) and ... it was ok. Would I buy again? Nah.

Food 5/5 Value 2/5 Ooomph salt bread ko is officially my favorite salt bread spot at the moment! While the price is definitely on the higher side ($12 for 3), the quality makes it worth the splurge. The bread is incredibly fluffy and soft with a rich, buttery center that actually melts in your mouth, exactly what a perfect Shio Pan should be. I arrived at 10:30 AM and was lucky there was no line. Note: Their flavored options aren't ready until noon, so I'll definitely be back to try those next!

Heard buzz about this place and decided to check out. It was just a handful of people inside when I arrived. It is easy to order from the kiosk. There are no registers, so its all card or tap to pay only, no cash. Staff said that maximum that they were selling per person was 3. I couldn't eat too many & was by myself so I ordered 2 with the strawberry lychee spread which was $2.00 extra. There are many spread options. Some are additional. My order was quick and came out hot. The sweetness of the spread mixed well with the salty of the bread. Definitely do need a drink. Places is small with few bench seats, inside and out. Can definitely see this place being a hit when the weather gets warmer.

There was no place to sit down because of how busy it was but the staff kept the line moving quick enough. The place still seemed reasonably stocked with their desserts and treats, despite the late afternoon time that I arrived. I ordered 4 different treats to go and they're packed in small box individually. Unfortunately, they didn't quite stay intact during my trek back to my hotel and were tumbled around in the boxes. Nonetheless, the taste and flavors held up well and even after a few days in the fridge. The yuzu daisy has this vivid pastel yellow-pink base and adorable gelatinous yellow gem atop a white flower. The yuzu gives a subtle infusion of tart that is balanced out by the light delicate skin texture of the rest. Sitting atop a thin round rice crispy. I loved the red mushroom one which is a creamy pink mousse inside the cap. The stalk is a thin porcelain-white chocolate light base also filled with a rich cream. Adjacent are two cute little tree nuts. The orange and mango have such vivid colors and are aesthetically pleasing too. Just like the previous ones, their delicate chocolate exterior houses a rich tarty mousse-y filling. I think the mushroom has a better balance and variety of flavors. Although I don't eat mousse treats often, I look forward to trying some of the other ones in the future, like the blueberry, banana and cloud.
