Nice location along the marina. The seating outside does get very hot if you're in the sun but the people watching is great. The smell can be rough while the fisherman clean their catch and you're eating 10 feet away. The service was very friendly and she had some great recommendations. We had the grouper tacos and shrimp po boy. Both were great and filling. The shrimp was large and hard to fold to eat! I wasn't a big fan of the fries though. Thicker cut and soggy. I love that one of their appetizers had calamari and shrimp... don't see that usually but it was hot and fresh! I so wanted seafood but couldn't resist the steak. Our fisherman guide suggest we bring out fresh caught fish to this establishment to cook. We are all so happy he told us to go here. For $10.90 per person, we brought in filets from about 14 different fish (there is no up charge depending on how much fish you bring in). We got half the filets blackened, the other half fried. The meal also came with family style coleslaw and hand cut fries. Absolutely. Amazing. Seating was quick and service was prompt. The fish was all cooked so perfectly. Our party ordered stir fried rice and veggies as a healthy option. We were very pleased with it. Fed 3 of us with barely leftovers. We will definetly come back. We came here for dinner Saturday night. It is located under Marina Cantina (bottom floor). We chose to eat outdoors since it had live music. It isn't located on the water like the other restaurants, so I'd probably chose a different place next time since the food/drinks aren't that out-of-this world. Our server was very friendly, guided us to the special (Catch of the Day). Most of their seafood is caught in the Gulf that same day. I got the snapper blackened, and my friends got the Ahi Tuna. My snapper was good. Their dishes were drenched in sauce and they were sad they couldn't taste the tuna that much since it was in a heavy glaze. Went there with wife at 730pm. Said wait 15 minutes but we were seated within 5 minutes outside. Waiter informs us that they are out of ALL FISH OPTIONS! No grouper, snapper, or ahi!! all what is left on the menu was shrimp options and grouper cakes. We got calamari and shrimp appetizer. It was average. We got the shaved corn appetizer. It was ok also as was smothered in cream. I got the shrimp po boy and subbed fries for slaw. The sandwich was average so was the slaw. The group cake had a creamy inside. Other people seated after us informed no fish options left and also were surprised. The hostess should have informed customers. We were disappointed overall. I've been to Clearwater Beach several times, but this was my first time at Salt Cracker Fish Camp. I wish I had gone sooner. The food was so good! I had the bacon wrapped scallops. The scallops were big and perfectly cooked & sat on a bed of the most amazingly tasty grits. I wish I took a picture but I was starving and could not wait to dig in when it as put before me. Everyone in my party LOVED their food. We brought our fish over from our fishing excursion and they were able to cook it all up for us. We got half blackened and half fried. Everyone preferred the blackened and it was sooo good. They really know what their doing when preparing this fish as it melted in our mouths and was perfectly salty. For $11 per person they will cook up your fish and include coleslaw and fries. We also ordered the stir fried veggies and rice to pair with it. Parking is a problem with the need to feed the parking meter $.50 ever 30 minutes or pay $6 to valet. Supposedly they have vouchers but were all out on a Saturday night in the off season summer. Chicken & waffles were okay with the fried boneless chicken being too salty and the breaking a bit too thick. The presentation with the hockey stacked on top of the waffles is neat but results in oil soaked somewhat soggy waffles. A little bit of syrup was drizzled atop but a side of more syrup would have improved the meal. The burgers ordered by others in my party looked good. Nice outdoor seating with a view of the fishing boats and their catches. I don't know if I'll return considering the parking and mediocre food. read more
