They were made with chunks of potato rather than fries, and the staff forgot to give me the ranch dressing that was supposed to come with them. Caesar salad didn't have any croutons, and the staff forgot to give me dressing. BBQ baby back ribs were fantastic. Baked potato wasn't great. Sweet potato fries were great. Came here today waiting for traffic at H mart grocery store to slow down. Sat in the bar area. Service was not bad but not good either. The bartender had the whole section but only had 4 different groups. I'm very low maintenance for the most part. Why cause I use to work in this industry so I try to give the server the benefit of the doubt. I use to tell my staff no matter what they are drinking if you stay on top of their drinks and the food comes out for the most part in a timely manor correctly then you should get a 20% tip. Was taking an older gentleman to celebrate his 80th bday, made a reservation and told them when I made it, the reservation was for 4:45 and the two hostesses were a nightmare. There were at least 6 booths and they said no, they are all reserved. There was one table seated by the fireplace with at least 6 tables empty and they said no, there aren't any seats in the fireplace room, they took us to a table twice and made us go back and they regrouped. It started off the evening horrible. They did not welcome us, they acted like our reservation didn't count for anything and told us we should have requested our table. Someone needs to train these people - they ruined the evening and they are the first face of the business. read more

I stopped in for dinner because I was staying close by in a hotel down the hill. Sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and attentive. I was there for happy hour and ordered the steak bites and a baked potato for my meal. It was very good. Steak bites were tender and half off $10.99 was a great deal! Was a great spot. I love this place. It's an upper mid-scale steakhouse that never disappoints. I've been to this restaurant 4 times in the six months I've lived here and have always had great food, prepared as ordered, and on point service. I'm a Morton's guy by preference but it's no longer priced to be a monthly stop. Then I ran into this place. Always greeted with a smile and seated quickly. Servers approach the table quickly and bring warm bread. It's good stuff. The ranger rattler and queso w/brisket appetizers are my preferred. But die try the range rattler at least once it awesome. You want a cold crisp salad at a steakhouse? Look no further. It's everything you're looking for; fresh, crisp, and well presented. Great dressings as well. The steaks are very good. But as we all know the kicker is on the desired doness. If that's not right the whole meal is a miss. They have gotten mine correct every time. I'm telling you that's the game changer. Steaks are flavorful and tender. I'm a NY Strip guy but I'll try the ribeye next time. Sides are standard steak house classics except one. The flash fried green beans are the best. Just order them as you won't see them anyplace else. Man, they are good and just a little different. Don't even look at the desserts and get the carrot cake. Amazing. We always order one to go as well. It's that good. Maybe because it's so moist. That's probably what makes it. The spice in the cake and the frosting are perfection. I wished I had ordered bone in, then I would have know it was a ribeye. I'm about 90% sure I got a sirloin instead, tough as a boot. We went here for our 40th Anniversary. Had just family and friends for party of seven. Started out good. When we finally got our food, no one ever came back to see how everything was. This was a treat for our family. We usually eat at cheaper restaurants. This time we decided to splurge - based on reviews - and are happy we did. All of the grilled meats were exceptionally delicious. My brother's repeated favorite is the large Chicken Fried Chicken with cream gravy. We also enjoyed the sides. The Flash Fried Green Beans were fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The Smoked Mac and Cheese was very cheesy and creamy, though I would've liked a bit of spark to it, like bits of jalapeño to balance the richness. The loaded Baked Potato was really loaded and nice to see after stingier topping experiences at some other steak houses. My Chicken Laredo had very tasty, smoky grilling, but it was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of cheese on it. I would've like a healthier portion of avocado on top, rather than the 5 or 6 tiny cubes. The childs portion of a 6 oz steak and fries was a bargain at $13. I'm glad to see kids also receive high-quality steak. A big part of our positive experience was the service by Jesse. 45 minute wait turns into an hour and 10 minutes.... "We will text you when your table is ready" all the while bumping us for the "call aheads" and reservations. The reservations I get they are already claimed times. But hearing a person complain and then get seated / prior people put down their numbers after us and then getting called up before us was our key to ask what was up. Sunday mid-adternoon lunch, minimal crowd. Setvice was slow at best and every order for the table was incorrect. The waiter was mildly rude and clearly had somewhere better to be. The queso appetizer was a luke-warm bowl of rubbery cheese product with yesterday's brisket. Steaks ordered medium-rare but were served far below rare. They did however offer to microwave them. Evening of 2/27/24, peak dinner hour ~7 PM. Restaurant at maybe 1/3 capacity. Extremely disappointed with my visit to Salt Grass this go-around and I didn't even eat. I've had many great experiences at this restaurant so this was extra surprising. Went in with the intent to purchase a $500 giftcard for a client. No host staff present, I lingered in the lobby before approaching the gift card stand. Checked it out before returning to wait at host stand; still nobody. I've been in the restaurant for 2 minutes now, multiple people have looked at me, and still nothing; not even an acknowledgment. I grab gift cards and head towards bar where it appears bartender may finally be acknowledging me. Nope, walked straight to the back. At least two other wait staff walked right by or near me, still nothing, so I left. How am I supposed to count on a good dining experience for my clients when I can't even be given the time of day to purchase the giftcard? read more

We went to salt and grass in colorado springs. We have 2 very picky eaters in our group. Called aheD to make sure we could get food unseasoned. They said it would not be a problem. Our waitress said steaks would come without seasoning but had plain butter on top. Said it was wine infused but had no flavor. Insisted it wouldn't taste. It did. Everything was amAzing! The wedge was deliCious!!! Had bacon and grape tomatoes on top with blue cheese and also balsamic! I was a tad surprised by the balsamic, but it was suuuuuper yummmmy! Came in today 2 of us for lunch. We noticed right away the place was understaffed. The waitress was acting as host and waiting tables. We ordered 2 whiskey sours and had to wait forever to get them. The reason for 5 stars is the waitress and a nice lady in a blue shirt noticed we had no drinks yet even after finishing our salads. After that the Saltgrass team all worked together to grab our drinks, get water refills and the main entrees. We didn't even say anything they just jumped on it. We had a ribeye and a sirloin and a couple of draft beers. The waitress was super nice and very apologetic for the initial wait. The way the team recognized our needs and worked together to help each other out was refreshing. Usually in an understaffed restaurant you just have to wait. We will be back. Ok, so first of all I am not a regular at this establishment. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I am trying to start a tradition where I take my wife's side of the family including her daughter's/husband's and their kids and her sisters and my side of the family out for New Years Eve dinner . Last New Years eve it was Rodizio which was a big hit. This year was steak and since we have heard good things about this place , I chose this one out over all the ones at this level of choices. So I called in plenty of time to make sure we had reservations because it was going to be a party of 12 but unfortunately at game time was reduced down to 5. So first of all my Father uses a Walker and getting around isn't his strongest ability anymore and they sat us close to the back of the restaurant which I will say maybe I shou6have said something but I kind of thought they would have picked up on that . Next they sat us at a round medium size table which when I ordered a couple of appetizers for the table we had to shuffle around our drinks and the bread so we could have room for our appetizer plates in front of us. I think about asking for a side tray to put our apps on , but who should have to do that? Second I had to ask our server(Levi) where my Stepmother 's glass of wine was and he replied that's weird? 10 minutes later he comes back with they are opening a new bottle, I wanted to ask if they ran down to the liquor store to get one? Lol. When we did get our meals my wifes steak did not come with the toppings she had asked for, her steak was undercooked which she told me after we got home that why she only ate part of it. My Son found a long blonde hair inside his napkin which they also withheld from me as I had already spoken to the manager about how I felt I subpar experience was going. And feared things were really going to get ugly, if they told me. My father asked for half coconut shrimp and half fried shrimp and they served him all coconut shrimp and he did ask for alot of lemon and Levi brought him out a whopping plate of 2 slices of lemon wedges. So I did express my displeasure of how things were going and finally did ask Levi to speak to a Mgr and Eugene, I do believe was his name approached our table with a plate of approximately 6 shrimp in hand. I took him to the side and explained to him the subpar service we were receiving and upon making my reservations I had asked for a seasoned server and if this was one of thier top servers I would hate to see thier worse. I explained to him that I wasn't trying to get a free meal(s) but I was really expecting more than this as far as our service was going, and if you read some of my reviews before I have been a server in the past so I have been behind the doors and know what goes on at this level and there should also be an expiditor(s). So he apologized and said he would be around to ensure things went smoothly and they did in fact we had staff clearing our plates and filling our drink glasses and Levi was there to bring us our check. Which by the way was a full check which I thought may have shown a slight adjustment but I did say I wasn't looking for one so I wasn't too bothered by it. So all in this experience was based on our service which most of you know if you have good service most of the time your going to have a good meal and let's put it this way, I only ate half my steak and the best part of the meal in my opinion was the appetizers, salad and bread. Will we go back? Probably not, I would rather take my chances with Texas Roadhouse or Outback. Went for our anniversary today. A few things that management should probably take into consideration: Have your waitstaff trained on menu items. Our server didn't know if veggies came with dinner entrees or that salad dressing comes with salad. When ordering a wedge salad and asked for blue cheese dressing, presented with a wedge with no dressing. Asked about the blue cheese, server replied ' There are blue cheese crumbles on the salad' then when we explained blue cheese dressing and she said she could bring us a side- like it was a special order. Filet was ordered medium and was between rare and medium rare. Manager concurred. ( manager was very nice and was checking on tables when she saw me boxing up almost a full steak) I didn't want to send it back, so took it home and will have it for lunch and have heated to the right temp tomorrow. While still eating, bill was brought to the table as we were asked 3 times if she could take our ticket/payment. We were offered dessert while still eating. I can understand the 1st time maybe because I asked for a box- but my husband was still eating his meal. The other 2 times were out out of line. It was not busy and we were not table hanger-oners. Filet didn't have much flavor but the baked potatoes and pork chop were good. Tortilla soup- not good. 6 spoons of broth and the rest was at least a cup of rice and zucchini. No cheese. Never had refills for our tea it water offered. We went at 4;30- wasn't that busy. Will go to Longhorn next time. More options, nicer, better food, better service, trained staff and not 4 different people serving you. read more

Today was not my first visit and always enjoyed their food. Today, I ordered the chicken fried steak, mash potatoes, ice water. The chicken fried steak had a funny after taste. I brought this to the attention of the waitress and a manager quickly responded to my concern. I was comped my meal and was able to order a salad to go with no charge. Unfortunately, I became very ill within a half hour....barely made it home. I hope no one else from our party becomes sick too. read more

It's quite disappointing when you decide to eat at the bar because nobody else is there, yet the counters are dirty and then the bartender puts placemats in front of you that are also dirty. This happened not once but twice in the last month, they are not that busy That they couldn't be doing some cleaning. The food was correct and good and service was above average, but both bartenders copped attitudes when we asked for clean placemats. Prices have increased and portions have decreased. Sad!! Was....our favorite place to dine weekly and for holidays & birthdays. The Steak Salad "was", the bomb! Now it's called The Steak Wedge Salad and over $18.00. It's horrible! If your lucky you'll receive maybe 3 oz of steak "vs", much more of a fresh salad and steak in the past.
